Happy Birthday Mum

Hey!

Here we are at the beginning of another week, I really don’t know where these days and weeks are going! This past weekend seemed to fly by even though I spent another long 24hrs in bed from Friday evening until Saturday evening suffering from yet another stomach sickness bug šŸ™ The beans were ill on Thursday with it and luckily we are all over it now, fingers crossed it stays away!

Anyway, I did find a little creative energy last night to create a birthday card. This is for my mum and in remembrance of my mum who passed away suddenly in April 2008.

My mum would have been 69 years old today and as I have always done I made a card to celebrate her life. She taught me so much and showed me so much love during the time we had together and is truly missed. Like most mums she liked flowers and Chrysanthemums were one of her favourites.

I decided to have a little ‘play’ along with the current challenge over at ColourQ HERE and seen below. The colours were perfect for me to use Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum.

I kept my card pretty simple, masking and stamping the smallest outline flower and leaf inside a circle die cut onto a white CS base layer, I then over-stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink. The circle die cut panel is adhered to the card using foam adhesive and I finished the card off with a trio of enamel dots.

You may or may not be ready for this, but everywhere you look there are BIG signs that Christmas is just around the corner! This month we are giving you a helping hand on getting a fabulous start to your Christmas creativity, whether you choose to make cards, tags or even gifts for the BIG day.

You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products.
Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!

We have another awesome Guest Designer joining us this month, Sue fromĀ Sue’s Card Craft. Sue is a regular participant in the Uniko Challenges and was the lucky winner of Challenge #36. Now check out this stunner Sue has created using Pure Florals: Poinsettia…

Isn’t this just amazing? I love white on white and the splash of elegance with the gold is exquisite and simply stunning. Be sure to pop on by to Sue’s blogĀ HEREĀ and leave some love.

As always the Uniko Design Team have some festive inspiration for you too, over HERE on the Uniko blogspot blog. If you look closely you might just see some sneaky peeks of the November Release šŸ˜‰ Celebrations for the November Release begin next week.

This is what I was inspired to make…

This is my first card of a trio I made for the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge HERE. I talked about my creative woes HERE. This week is colour week at CC&S and our hostess Patricia has chosen a monochromatic trio of blues.
CC&S color200-001
When I saw the blues I immediately thought of a white Christmas. The falling snow against a bright blue crisp sky.
USC#38a
I started by creating a rectangle window mask to apply a trio of Stampin’ Up! inks using my Clarity Stencil Brushes. I then stamped and heat embossed a trio of snowflakes from Stunning Snowflakes. The sentiment is a sneaky peek from a NEW clear stamp set being released next Sunday šŸ˜‰
Along with a NEW Uniko clear stamp set release next week AND prizes up for grabs over at CC&S this week. As usual we have prizes up for grabs for the Uniko Challenge.

THE PRIZES

  • The DT will choose a winner who will get a Ā£15 gift voucher and opportunity to Guest Design.

You’ve got plenty of time to play along with this month’s challenge. The deadline for submission is midnight (GMT) on Friday 16th December (7.00pm EDT).

25 Days Of Christmas Tags

Hey and Happy Tuesday!

Uniko is excited and honoured to be taking part AND sponsoring theĀ FABulous 25 Days of Christmas TagsĀ hosted and organised by the lovely Tracey McNeely from In My Creative Opinion.

All the fun began on Nov 1stĀ HEREĀ and there are lots of prizes and inspiration to be had, so be sure to check it out from the beginning.

Anyway, the Uniko DT myself included have made a Christmas tag or two to inspire and share with you, all the links can be found HERE.
This is what I came up with…

I’ve seen a few shaker tags around blog land and Pinterest and so I thought I would challenge myself to have a go! I was also inspired by the current “Less is More” challenge HERE, which is to use Purple and Gold, though as I have made a tag, rather than a cardI am not entering into the challenge. I used the challenge as inspiration.

Anyway, I started by die cutting 3 of my tags from white card. I then die cut a rounded rectangle from one of the tags to create my window. The snowflakes are my favourite trio from Stunning Snowflakes and IĀ stamped them onto the second die cut tag.

25Tags1a

I used a mixture of gold and purple sequins for my shaker and added a gold heat embossed snowflake with a few enamel dots to embellish the outside of the tag. Some satin ribbon and bakers twine finished the tag off nicely.

The third tag I die cut was to create a back to my tag, scoring and adhering only a small section at the top so my tag would stand up! It also gives a flat surface to write the recipients name and message too.

Before I go I have a couple more tags to share, which are SNEAKY sneak peeks at a couple of clear stamp sets being released in a couple of weeks šŸ˜‰

25Tags2a

25Tags3a

Now, I am also offering an extra prize to the Sponsor Prize!

Simply comment on all of the Uniko Design Team blog posts (links above) AND Tracey’s postĀ HEREĀ and I will use random.org to select a winner to receive a November 2016 Release Clear Stamp Set!! You have until midnight GMT 26th November 2016 to leave your comment for the chance to win!

I hope we have inspired you to join in on the fun and I look forward to seeing you in the gallery link up!

Thanks for stopping by.

Stamp Of The Week – Beautiful Blooms I

Hey!

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween to those who celebrate. This week I have opted for a seasonal change and I have gone for a floral set to revisit. This week I am dusting off Beautiful Blooms I and the coordinating Beautiful Blooms I Designer Dies

BeautiflBloomsIPP

BeautifulBloomsIDD

Floral clear stamps are good all year round and they can also be prettied up to go with the seasons, as I will hopefully show you this week šŸ˜‰ When they have a set of dies to match, there are even more possibilities!

Here is what I came up with for today…

2016SOTW97
{click photo for a closer look}

On my card I have used the smallest of the blooms and the coordinating die. I was inspired by the pretty photo inspiration over a Fusion Card Challenge seen HERE and below, soft and subtle are the key words.

New Banner-017

I was also inspired to create a celebration card. “Less is More” are celebrating a BIG milestone this week, 300 challenges HERE. The theme this week is to create a celebratory CAS card.

I started by die cutting the bloom and then temporarily adhering the panel to my card base, so I could stamp through the die cut and have perfect positioning. The MISTI is on my Christmas wish list and I am dropping HUGE hints to Santa that I could *really* do with this tool now šŸ˜‰

2016SOTW97a{click photo for a closer look}

Down the edge of my panel I adhered some SU! Washi tape, I can’t quite remember what collection it came from (sorry) the colour is either Pool Party or Mint Macaron. The sentiment is from Simply Said and stamped in Going Grey ink and I added a few rhinestones to finish the card off.

That’s all I have to share today, my mojo is a little slow as the beans decided to do some climbing antics at nap time and therefore didn’t nap. Mummy therefore didn’t get her usual lunchtime R&R and is feeling a little tired. I will however be back tomorrow with more using this set.

This week I am giving you the opportunity to purchase both the Beautiful Blooms I clear stamp set and Designer Dies in a bundle at 15% off HEREĀ for this week only.

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by šŸ™‚

Hey!

The Uniko Design Team and our Guest Designer are here today with a reminder and a little more inspiration for October Uniko challenge. This month we have another fun challenge to spark your creativity…

Who doesn’t LOVE rainbows?!

You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products.

Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!

We have an awesome Guest Designer for this months challenge,Ā HannelieĀ fromĀ Desert Diva. Hannelie was also the winner from the Uniko Challenge #35 and she has created another stunner to inspire you…

Isn’t this just amazing? The simplicity and monochrome stamping with splash of rainbow hearts is such a unique and fun way to approach the challenge. Please pop on by Hannelie’s blogĀ HEREĀ and leave some love and find out more about this creation.

This is what I came up with…

As I am revisiting Rustic Christmas this week as Stamp Of The Week, I thought I’d use it for my challenge reminder too šŸ˜‰

The tiny baubles in this set are perfect for colourful Christmas cards. To create this card I simply traced round a circle die for a template, stamped the sentiment and then randomly stamped the baubles in a variety of bright and cheerful Stampin’ Up! inks.

USC#37a

After I had finished stamping, I went over the baubles with my clear Wink of Stella pen for a little subtle sparkle. That’s all from me today, but be sure to pop on over HERE to see what the Uniko Design Team have created to inspire you. The link up for the challenge can also be found there.
Now, if you need a little more incentive to join in, how about some prizes?

I’ve had a lovely bean free day, but it has been jam packed with a mix of catching up on housework and work in the studio. I was hoping for a little more creative time, hence the CAS card tonight!

Hey!

This week I am continuing withĀ Rustic ChristmasĀ as my SOTW, I hope you have enjoyed the cards I have shared so far? I thought I might run out of ideas, but luckily my creative mojo has reappeared and the ideas are flowing!

RusticChristmasPP

Today I have a colourful rainbow Christmas card to share. There is nothing like a rainbow of colour to cheer up a frustrating night of silly little problems!

2016SOTW95{click photo for a closer look}

For my card I simply stamped the rustic tree in a variety of bright Stampin’ Up! inks! I then added a white heat embossed sentiment on strip of black card, adhered using foam adhesive and a trio of Stampin’ Up! enamel dots to finish the card off. Super quick again and an easily mass produceable card!

Stamp Of The Week – Rustic Christmas

Hey!

Welcome back, and my apologies for my absence at the end of last week, nothing like a sickness bug to disrupt everything šŸ™ I was laid up in bed Thursday and Friday, unable to do anything. Movement was a no no as it made the sickness worse.

Anyway, this week I am continuing withĀ Rustic ChristmasĀ as my SOTW…

RusticChristmasPP

Today I have gone for another super CAS card, I think my creative mojo is finally returning!

2016SOTW94{click photo for a closer look}

Again I used the currentĀ CAS Colours & SketchesĀ challenge colours seenĀ HEREĀ and below for my card. They are having a DT Call this week and next week, so be sure to check it out and join in!

CC&S color196-001

This time I decided to stamp and emboss the Rustic Tree in Kettle Copper EP on some watercolour paper. I then used my only darker green Zig Clean Colour Brush Marker and simply watercolored over the top. The panel is simply mounted onto a red card base using DST.
