Feature Friday – Pure Florals Gerbera

Happy Friday!

I thought I would pop by today and share a card I was inspired to make after the restock of Pure Florals Gerbera arrived in the studio earlier this week. It’s taken me a couple of days to finish it in-between work as I am very slow at colouring!

I’ve said it before, but I really do get inspired to use older stash when a restock of them arrives, it’s like getting new stamps all over again.

This clear stamp set was launched way back in July 2012 and even though styles, trends and fonts have changed over the years since, this set is timeless with the realistic style it is drawn in.

With a goal this year to use more colour in my creations, I seem to be stuck on the rainbow colour train right now!

I have so many boxes of coloured card scraps, that I am trying to use as much as I can from them and not break out any more new sheets. So I created a rainbow of coloured strips down the edge of my card. I have to say, it seems like I used a lot here, but it has hardly made a dent!

The Gerber flower is the outline full face flower stamped and embossed with WOW! Opaque Bright White and I have coloured it using Prismacolor Pencils.

I decided to add a sentiment from the newly released Hello Lovely clear stamp set and my usual Nuvo Drops, this time in White Blizzard.

It was a refreshing change to use this older stamp set again & I hope to share more new creations with much loved and previously released Uniko clear stamp sets with you this year.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Rainbow Hearts

Happy Hump Day!

How’s your week going? Mine didn’t start well with no hot water Monday morning and the house alarm going off at 5am for no reason. To then having the plumbers round and taking off all the radiators in the house. It was chaos!

I am so glad I did essential work like packing orders (thank you 🙂 )before they arrived as I had to move one side of my studio to the other (it’s not a big room either) so they could get to the radiator. It took me all evening when they had gone to get the house straight and sort The Beans out too!

Things have improved slightly but I’ve been hitting minor problems each day and it’s frustrating. So today after I had finished my essential jobs, I set to making a card to cheer myself up.

This week at school The Beans are reading a book called ‘Rainbow Fish’, so it inspired me to make a rainbow card. All these colourful hearts make me happy 🙂

I’ve used some of my favourite Altenew colours to stamp the striped heart from BIG & BOLD Love from the NEW Uniko release. Instead of making a Valentine’s card I decided to add a congratulations sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II. This way the card can be used for a Wedding, Anniversary or engagement card to name a few occasions.

In the photo above you can see how I have used my favourite 1mm thick foam adhesive to adhere all the hearts and sentiment.

I hope this card has added some cheer to your day like it has mine 🙂 Thanks so much for popping by today & I hope to be back tomorrow with another card to share.

Happy New Year!

Hello & Happy 2020!

I do hope you all had a lovely and safe New Years Eve and have enjoyed a wonderful New Years Day. I have been soaking up the last of the family time, as hubby heads back to work tomorrow 🙁 The Beans still have a few days left of the school holidays and lucky for me are off out tomorrow afternoon to the pantomime!

I managed to sneak in the studio yesterday morning to make this quick ‘Happy New Year’ card. The doily I have used from Decorative Doilies – The Hands of Time reminds me of fireworks and it is nice to have it currently in stock to showcase and use on my card today!

I’m not setting any resolutions or words for the year, as I find I forget so easily and they always seem to go astray as the year progresses. One thing I will be doing is setting myself some monthly goals to achieve throughout the year, some personal and some to grow Uniko and myself as a small business/business owner.

One of my goals for January is to create brighter cards! I was surprised at how little the bright colours were in my ‘Year of Colour’. The muted and neutral tones really took centre stage, with the brights so small around the edge.

So for my ‘Happy New Year’ card I selected some bright Copic colours to create rainbow fireworks! The sentiment is from Festive Sentiments Outlined and I coloured it with a black fine liner to stand out against the rainbow.

That’s all I have to share with you today, it’s almost time for The Beans to go to bed – yay! This mummy is worn out – LOL!

Until next time, thanks for stopping by.

Less Is More Sponsor & Guest Designer

Happy Weekend!

I’m super excited to be here this morning, not only because Uniko is Octobers sponsor over at Less is More and that I am guest designing with them this week. BUT also because the Uniko October Release is NOW LIVE in store and available to purchase!

If you want to check out the cards I have made & shared yesterday about the October Release, pop on over HERE! I also couldn’t resist showing how one of the products being released, Festive Sentiments Outlined, can be used all year round…

BevLIMgdOct19b

This fortnight the challenge is Rainbow. Who doesn’t LOVE a rainbow?! There are so many ways to interpret this challenge onto your card (don’t forget to keep it CAS) and I opted for a rainbow colour scheme.

406 ColourRainbow

Rainbows make me happy, all those colours in one place is just a delight to see! As they make me happy I thought it appropriate to use the HAPPY sentiment from Festive Sentiments Outlined. I used my MISTI to stamp this three times on my card, coloured the inside of the word with Copics in a rainbow colour scheme and finished with the birthday sentiment from Birthday Sentiments clear stamp set.

BevLIMgdOct19c

This wasn’t enough rainbow for me! So I set to thinking how I could keep the design CAS but add more rainbow colour. Ta-dah! A rainbow base card. I used my blender brushes to create a rainbow base card using a variety of Altenew ink colours. I adhered the stamped layer to it using foam adhesive for a little dimension and I was done. A CAS card with lots of colour!

That’s all the rainbow I had time for, but the Less is More team have lots more inspiration for you. Be sure to head on over HERE to see the rainbow delight awaiting you and all the challenge details and the link up for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you check out the New Release too 😉

Introducing… BIG & BOLD Wish Designer Dies

Hey!

Welcome to the last day of the April / May 2019 Release product introductions. If you missed Day 1, 2 and 3you can catch up HEREHERE and HERE, they’re not to be missed 😉

Today we have another set of matching Designer Dies to introduce to you. This time to coordinate with the previously released BIG & BOLD Wish clear stamp set. This set of dies have been requested by so many customers, that with the success of the BIG & BOLD Happy Designer Dies released in February, it was a must!

How about a look at these dies in action…

AprilSR2

How about a yellow and grey number with some smooth WOW Metallic Silver embossing?! This was such a quick CAS card to make and it could be easily changed to suit a recipients favourite colours.

AprilSR2a

Next I decided to go rainbow style…

IntroBBwishDD1

I’m hooked on this die! It’s so easy to use and create quick clean and simple cards with colourful impact. I’ve layered and offset the ‘wish’ word die, using a variety of SU! bright card stock colours. I’ve added the ‘big’ sentiment from the coordinating clear stamp set and embellished the design with sparkly clear Nuvo Drops and some clear Wink of Stella.

IntroBBwishDD1a

That’s all from me today using these new coordinating Designer Dies. However, it wouldn’t be a release without a daily blog hop full of inspiration!  As usual my AWESOME Design Team have worked their magic with todays products, so be sure to hop along & see them…

Okay, so now I have mentioned all the ‘formal’ stuff! How about a couple more cards using the new release…

Feb19RD1

First up I decided to go for a more feminine card & opted to use Pantone’s colour of the year. I am partial to a bit of Coral and feel I haven’t embraced this years colour as much as I have wanted to !

I have used Background Blocks Pinstripe and heat embossed it in white across my card base. The sentiment in from Birthday Wishes and is also heat embossed. I added some white bakers twine and gloss white Nuvo Drops to finish.

Feb19RD1a

And lastly for today is another BIG & BOLD Happy card…

Feb18RD2

This is the ‘other’ two for the price of one technique cards, where I shared the first HERE on Day 1 of the introductions! On this card I have done inlay die cutting with the ‘happy’ word die. I created a striped panel of coloured card (great way of using up all those scraps) on a thin piece of white card.

Feb19RD2a

I then die cut the ‘happy’ word die into this panel. As I was going through a couple of layers of card I went through my cutting machine a couple of times. I set the striped happy aside and kept the inner parts of the a, p & p for this card. I then die cut another happy from a white card panel the same size of the striped panel (which was used to create the card I shared on Day 1) and inlayed it into this striped panel.

Finally the word Birthday is stamped and heat embossed white and again I added my favourite gloss white Nuvo Drops to finish!

That’s all I have to share today using these products, but I know Ruth our Guest Designer this month along with the Design Team have SO much more to share with you.

Hop on by to see what Ruth has created HERE and this is the order of the hop following Ruth…

Also, don’t forget the enter the HUGE giveaway over HERE to WIN Stamps For A Year! If you need help entering the giveaway as you don’t have a blog or social media to link, send me an email and I will assist you 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by & joining in on the 7th Birthday February Release fun 🙂

Introducing… Party Confetti & Stylised Floral Stencils

Hey!

Are you still with us?! I didn’t think this was a big release until I started scheduling it on the blog 😉 Welcome back to day four of the product introductions!

Today the Design Team and myself are here to introduce two new Uniko Stencil Designs, Party Confetti and Stylised Floral. Hopefully you have hopped along with the Design Team, I’ve struggled to keep up with work over the long holiday weekend here in the UK. The lovely sunny weather has distracted me to spend time with the Beans and hubby!

Anyway, I am finally here to share a couple of cards using 2 more Uniko Stencils being released on Saturday 12th May.

First up is a card using the new Stylised Floral Stencil…

IntroUnikoStencils1

It just called for me to ink it up with my very small collection of Distress Oxide inks! I think I will be treating myself at Happy Stampers Festival for some more colours 😉

IntroUnikoStencils1a

As you can see I kept my card really simple as I wanted the Stylised Floral design to take centre stage. This is another design way back from my Uni days and I can’t even remember how it came about! I just stubbled across it in my disorganised archive of designs!

Next is another simple card using the Party Confetti Stencil…

IntroUnikoStencils2

If you like the Background Blocks Party Confetti clear stamp, then you might just like this stencil too 😉 This stencil is a larger version of the design with just a few little tweaks to make it work for a stencil! Again I used my Distress Oxide inks to colour through the stencil before trimming and die cutting a curved edge.

IntroUnikoStencils2a

One fun thing about clear sentiment stamps is their ability to bend and shape them to fit in with a design. I’ve not tried this with the Simply Said Blocks stamps before (that I can remember), so I thought I would give it a go with the Congratulations sentiment. With it being the longest of the stamps in the clear stamp set I thought it the best stamp to use. I am rather pleased with how it turned out 🙂 I added a trio of my favourite enamel dots to finish the design off too.

That’s all I have to share with you today. Fingers crossed I am more organised and not so late tomorrow! Be sure to hop along with the Design Team (links below) for more FAB inspiration…

Introducing… Just Because & Large French Script Background Clear Stamps

Hey & Happy Monday!

Welcome to back to day three of the May 2018 Release product introductions. What a BEEautiful showcase of inspiration HERE on the blog hop yesterday. I sure do LOVE seeing how the Design Team are inspired to use the new products. They were certainly busy bees too with all that they created!

Today we are introducing 2 more products. Just Because Clear Stamp Set and Large French Background Clear Stamp and I have created a couple more cards using the Just Because set to inspire you…

IntroJustBec1

I decided to make another rainbow inspired card, they really do make me happy! This time I went for a one layer card too. I simply stamped the silhouette from Just Because in a rainbow of Altenew ink colours. I started with the Olive Green and ended with the Puffy Heart. The sentiment is just one of the options contained in the set.
IntroJustBec1a
With clean and simple on the go I whipped up this next super CAS and mass produceable card…

IntroJustBec2

I used both my medium and small MISTI tools to stamp this card. I had the silhouette stamp in one and the sentiment in the other. I recently purchased a new set of Altenew inks from Seven Hills Crafts HERE and I just can’t seem to stop using the Aqualicious colour 😉 I’ve paired it with some Stampin’ Up! Berry Burst card stock for my card base.

IntroJustBec2a

Unfortunately that’s all I had time to create 🙁 I was having so much fun but time to create slipped away. I hope to share more using this set on release day & we will also being having a Release in Review week starting Monday 21st May 🙂

Anyway, I know the Design Team have created SO much more to inspire you, so hop on round and leave some love!

Introducing… Simply Said Blocks II and Natures Treasures II Stencil & Mask

Hey!

Welcome to the first day of the May 2018 Release product introductions. This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team and our Guest Designer for May Anna have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days 🙂

Today we are introducing 2 products. Simply Said Blocks II a mini clear stamp set with additional popular sentiments in the same style as Simply Said Blocks. And we are ‘officially’ introducing Natures Treasures II Stencil. This stencil was part of the Uniko Stamping Retreat goody bag in Dec 2017. It has proven popular with those that attended, myself and some of the DT, that it was time it was made available to everyone 🙂

Hopefully you have hopped on by from our lovely Guest Designer, Anna’s blog HERE.

How about a bit more inspiration?! I’ve a couple of cards to share using a combination of the Natures Treasures II Stencil and sentiments from Simply Said Blocks II and a sneak peek of some others from another clear stamp set we will be introducing next week 😉

IntroNT2stencil2

I thought I’d start off with a super CAS card and a bit of partial fussy cutting! For this card I began with a 10.5 x 12 cm piece of white card. I stamped the sentiment from a clear stamp set we are introducing in a couple of days called Just Because first, so that I could then position and ink the leaf.

IntroNTstencil2a

I used a trio of Distress Oxides to do this, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry. I then drew a soft pencil line where I wanted to cut straight and then went ahead and fussy cut it out. This panel is then adhered to my base card using 1mm thick foam adhesive.

For my next card I channeled my inner Laura Bassen, to create this rainbow card.

IntroNT2stencil3

Again I used Distress Oxides and simply worked across from Picked Raspberry down to Wilted Violet. The sentiment is a combination from Simply Said Blocks II and Just Because.

IntroNT2stencil3a

That’s all I have to share with you for today, but there is LOADS more inspiration from my awesome Design Team. Be sure to hop along and leave some love along the way 🙂

Introducing… Kindness Blooms & Uniko Stencil Fun Flowers

Hey!

Welcome back to the final day of the product introductions! This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

What a FUN 4 days it has been! If you’ve missed any of the introductions you can catch up HEREHEREHERE and HERE.

Today the Design Team and I are here to introduce the last floral products, Kindness Blooms clear stamp set and Fun Flowers Stencil.

I think I have yet again saved a new favourite until last 😉 I just can’t seem to stop using the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set! This set contains a fun doodle style flower in 2 sizes, some fun flower accents and kindness mix and match sentiments.
IntroKindnessBlooms1
For my first card today I have only used the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set, but due to the technique I used and showed HERE, a few at the Uniko Stamping Retreat on Saturday thought that I had used the same technique on the Large Scattered Polka Dot BG. However, I have used the single polka dot that comes in the Kindness Blooms set and simply randomly stamped it in a rainbow of Altenew ink colours.
IntroKindnessBlooms1a

The kraft card stock layer is adhered to the rainbow background using foam adhesive and the sentiment is just one of the options available.

Next I was inspired by a Mid Century Modern pattern design that I had come across on Pinterest HERE

IntroKindnessBlooms2

This was a sheer accident! I had not consciously thought about this when designing the set, but the happy coincidence and results are super fun 🙂

IntroKindnessBlooms2a

That’s all I have to share using Kindness Blooms today and I will be sharing a card using the Fun Flowers stencil over HERE at 1pm GMT for my CAS Colours & Sketches DT post 😉

Again it’s a hop full of wonderful inspiration and techniques, I can’t wait to read how they’ve created all their samples! So get comfy, grab a drink and be sure to hop around all the Design Team blogs for a TON of inspiration and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!
