June 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!! For those of you who are new around these parts I will explain what this post is all about…

Here at Uniko HQ it is just myself behind the screen, blogging, designing, packaging stamps & orders through the Uniko online shop, customer service and all the things in between. I *usually* release new product every other month for a number of reasons, but mainly so I can keep up with everything!

On non – release months like this month I like to set myself and the Design Team a challenge to look back at a previously released product and give it some more love.

Usually I choose just one product that was released the previous year or a once favourite that hasn’t seen much air time. However, this time I couldn’t choose between the clear stamps in the Beautiful Blooms range, so I challenged the Uniko DT to use all 3 OR their favourite!

Beautiful Blooms I Clear Stamp Set

Beautiful Blooms I Designer Dies

Beautiful Blooms I can be bought as a clear stamp set and designer die bundle HERE.

Beautiful Blooms II

Beautiful Blooms III

My thinking / reasoning of designing the Beautiful Blooms series was to have some modern blooms that didn’t necessarily reflect a particular flower. They are open for interpretation as to what YOU the stamper believes the flower to represent. I feel this allows for more creativity and individuality to stampers projects.

Now I had to be fair, so I made one card using each of the clear stamps…

First up is Beautiful Blooms I and I decided to use both the clear stamps and matching designer dies. My card is heavily inspired by some of  Jennifer McGuire’s recent makes.

UJuneBH1a

I started by die cutting the largest bloom, largest stem and 2 small leaves from a piece of white card. I then temporarily adhered it to my card base whilst I stamped the coordinating images to the die cuts. I used my MISTI tool to stamp too.

UJuneBH1b

I used Altenew inks to stamp and the sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks II. Once I had completed all my stamping the die cut panel was adhered using foam adhesive.

Next, I decided to have a play with Beautiful Blooms II and created a super CAS card…

UJuneBH2

I started by stamping the outline blooms in Altenew inks, then I ‘off stamped’ the bloom centre details before stamping inside the outline, as I wanted a fairly light shade to the blooms. I then used Lawn Fawn rectangle dies to die cut the layer before adding my sentiment from Just Because. The pane is adhered to a Stampin’ Up! Grey Granite card base using foam adhesive.

UJuneBH2a

Lastly, I dusted off Beautiful Blooms III to create a similar style card to my CC&S card last week HERE.

UJuneBH3

I used my MISTI tool again for this card, because there is quite a bit of masking and layering of stamps. I used Altenew inks again, as they really do take the hard work out of choosing colours to layer! I tried to show a few of the different layering options with the blooms on this card too.

UJuneBH3a
That’s all from me, but lets see how the design team have been inspired to use the products and be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win your choice from the 3 clear stamp sets being featured. You have until Midnight (GMT) Monday 18th June 2018 to comment.

Uniko Sponsors “Less is More”

Hello & Happy Weekend!

I am here bright and early this morning to tell you that Uniko is super happy and proud to be sponsoring “Less is More” again.

As you can see, this week the theme is ‘friendship’ and for my Guest Designer card I thought I would dust off Reach For The Stars and Background Builders: Seeing Stars

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618

I recently had a little Stampin’ Up! splurge as I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of the new and returning colours! One of the colours I couldn’t wait to use was Grey Granite, those who know me, know that I LOVE grey. I think love might be an understatement, lets say obsessed!

Just yesterday I was talking to my husband about painting some rooms in the house and I said I had picked up some paint chips on the way past the DIY store. He knew before he even looked that the majority would be shades of grey – LOL! I love it as a base colour to accessorise with other colours, like I have with my card today…

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618c

I was super happy to see that Altenew Silver Stone ink is a really good match to the Grey Granite card, which I used to stamp my sentiment. The star in the middle from Background Builders: Seeing Stars is stamped in a slightly darker shade, Altenew Industrial Diamond ink. I then used my Prismacolor Pencils in Light & Dark Aquamarine to colour it. The 2 smaller stars are stamped in Altenew Aqualicious and Teal Cave. I finished the stars off with some clear Wink Of Stella too for that subtle sparkle.

The layout of my card is from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 340-001

I’ve so many friends I could send this card to, so I think I will be replicating this design with other colours & the Grey Granite!

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618b

OK, that’s all from me today, I’ll be spending time with The Beans and hubby today, before a little night out with some of my old nursing friends, celebrating ones retirement. It’ll be nice to catch up with them :)

Anyway, be sure to head on over to the “Less is More” blog here and join in on the fun.

Guest Designer Inspiration with Anna Uhras

Hi Dear Uniko Friends!

Anna here again today bringing you my last (but not least) page made for my GDT spot here at Uniko. I’ve had a blast playing with all the gorgeous stamps, stencils and dies Bev sent to me to create with.

Thank you so much sweet Bev <3

For this layout I’ve made my own background papers using the Paradise Leaves Clear Stamps.  The word “kindness” you can find in the Simply Said II Clear Stamp set. The papers in my layers under my photo are by Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush collection and my title is also by Heidi Swapp  but from my hoarded stash :)

I fussy cut some of the leafs and mounted them with 3d tape to get some dimension. Lastly, I finished my page off with some stitches my by sewing machine and some dots of Nuvo Jewel Drops. I do really love these leafs, they are absolutely gorgeous.

I hope that you have got some new ideas and some inspiration from my creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by here today! See you out in the scrappy world <3

Take care! Hugs Anna xo

I was inspired to play along with the current Freshly Made Sketch challenge seen HERE and below. I also used a couple of the Uniko branding colours for my card as they are 2 of my favourites 😉

FMS Final 338-001

I started by randomly stamping the coffee cup from I LOVE Coffee in VersaFine Onyx Black ink over my base card. I then went in an embellished the coffee cups with the small Uniko flower, stamping them in Altenew Puffy Heart ink. The trio of white card strips are adhered using 1mm foam adhesive and the ‘I Love Coffee’ sentiment is stamped in Altenew Aqualicious ink.

Hopefully you have arrived from Barbara Sproatmeyer‘s blog.

In celebration of the hop I’ve made a couple of cards using Uniko’s recently released Bee Happy clear stamp set…

BEE1

I was inspired to create a semi random patten using the honeycomb trio. I stamped it using Altenew Warm Sunshine ink and then infilled some of the honeycombs using the tiny hexagon stamped in Altenew Buttercream ink. I added the ‘Happy Bee Day’ sentiment and a stamped & fussy cut bee flying away.

BEE2

This card layout was inspired by the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below. Just too fun not to join in 😉

CTS_272

My next card is a reminder to ‘Bee Yourself’. I have had so much fun creating stories using this sentiment and the bee image…

BEE3

I used my MISTI tool to space and stamp the bees in trio of lines using VersaFine Black ink. I purposefully left a gap for my colourful bee flying away from them, to represent YOU to BEE yourself.

BEE3a

I hope you have enjoyed my cards today and that I have inspired you too! Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Birka Reinitz.

Thanks for stopping by today & joining in on the fun.

Uniko Challenge #47 – Photo Inspiration & Optional Twist Birthday

Hey!

Welcome to the May/June, 2018 Uniko challenge.

This month we have a beautiful photo that we hope will inspire you to play along. Lots of ways to be inspired by the photo – the colours, the flowers, the grasses, the gorgeous vase or maybe the suitcase will give you a vacation vibe. Any way this photo talks to you is ok by us, but if you’d like an extra challenge then play along with our super simple twist of BIRTHDAY.

As you’ve probably noticed the Uniko DT has grown this year with the addition of four talented ladies onto our Stencil Team. So of course there’s going to be even more DT inspiration to get your creativity flowing and we also have the most wonderful Guest Designer – Sue – joining in with us for this challenge.

Her winning card from the last challenge really caught our eye here at Uniko and if you go visit her blog you’ll find oodles more fabulous inspiration.

Guest Designer – Sue

Loving her use of Uniko goodies on this deliciously pretty card.
And here is what I came up with to hopefully inspire you…
USC#47
I was particularly inspired by the flower blooms in the vase and wanted to give Flower Power #8 from the May 2018 Release a little more inky love. I used a recent purchase of the Altenew Tea Party ink collection to stamp the trio of flowers. I then fussy cut the blooms out and adhered them to a die cut panel using double sided and foam adhesive. The die I used is the Pretty Pink Posh Scalloped Borders 1 collection.
USC#47b
I also stamped the individual leaves from Flower Power #8 to create a duo of leave and again fussy cut them out. The sentiment is from Birthday Sentiments & I added some Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Drops to embellish the flowers and panel.
USC#47a
I was also inspired by the pattern on the pretty suitcase, so I replicated the idea using the Stylised Floral Stencil, also from the May 2018 Release. I used Crushed Olive Distress Ink. The layout of my card is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.
FMS Final 337-001
That’s all from me today, but the Uniko Design team also have some inspiring card ideas to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too 😉

Guest Designer Inspiration with Anna Uhras

Hi Dear Friends!

Anna here today sharing one of my Guest Designer pages with you. I am so happy, proud and very grateful to Bev for inviting me to be a guest here at Uniko, thanks so much!

This layout I have made using the gorgeous Uniko Equaliser stencil together with some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and the lovely and versatile Simply Said II Clear Stamps.

The papers are by one of the new Bo Bunny collections, Summer Mood, and the title are by Thickers, both from my own stash.

I started up my page making my background using the stencil together with pink and yellow Nuvo Mousse. After drying I builded up my page using a few papers, thread, Thickers and finished my page of with stamping a few words in black.
Sometimes the simple is enough and I think the cool equaliser pattern needs some space without too much embellishments around.

Oh, of course, I made a few stitches with my sewing machine as well :)

That’s all for now, see you again for my second and last Guest Designer Inspiration post here May 26th.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Introducing… Designer Dies Explosion Collection

Hey!

Welcome to day 7 and the last of the May 2018 Release product introductions. That means tomorrow IS Release Day – Whoohoo!

Anyway, I am super excited about today as the product we are introducing is some NEW matching Designer Dies to previously released and popular Uniko clear stamp sets. As I mentioned yesterday too, I love matching dies, they provide so many more techniques and ways to stretch your stamps.

OK, so let’s see these dies and the clear stamp sets they match…

Hopefully you can see that I have created this designer die collection in a way that it mainly matched the Explosion! Additions clear stamp set. It does feature a die to match the explosion stamp in the original Explosion! set, but as you will see from my card below you don’t need to use the stamps with the explosions!

IntroEDD2

I started by stamping the halftone explosion onto my white square layer in Altenew Aqualicious ink. I then die cut the 2nd largest explosion that matches the original Explosion! clear stamp. I thought it would be fun to add an inner explosion die cut so that the halftone could be seen through when layered.

IntroEDD2a

The black die cut explosion is adhered to the card using foam adhesive. I added a die cut, stamped and raised WOW! to the card adding the sentiment ‘You Did It’ and some stamped yellow tiny explosions.

I hope I have shown some of the possibilities these dies add to the stamps?! As always the Design Team have amazed me with their creativity, be sure to hop around for even more inspiration using these new Designer Dies…

Hugs

Introducing… Designer Dies Originally Organic Additions Collection

Hey & My Apologies For My Lateness!

Welcome to day 6 of the May 2018 Release product introductions!

I am super excited about today as the product we are introducing is some NEW matching Designer Dies to a previously released and popular Uniko clear stamp set. I love matching dies, they provide so many more techniques and ways to stretch your stamps.

OK, so let’s see these dies and the clear stamp set they match…

So many fun possibilities with these dies and clear stamp set now 😉 And one of my favourite cards to make is shaker cards!

Hopefully you have hopped along with the design team and seen the shaker card I shared HERE yesterday. Thank you for all your lovely comments too. I would just like to give a shout out to Sarah P, as it was Sarah who suggested a separate die for the inside and outside of the heart wreath :)

Ok, so I have one more card which (hopefully) shows the delicacy of the heart wreath when cut with both the inside and outside dies…

IntroOOADD2

I adhered the wreath using glue, so it was flat to my black card base. I then die cut and stamped some colourful flowers adhering them with foam adhesive. The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks II and the enamel dots are Stampin’ Up!

IntroOOADD2a

That’s all I have to share here, but there is plenty of inspiration from our Guest Designer & Design Team.

Introducing… Flower Power #8

Hey!

Welcome to day 5 of the May 2018 Release product introductions!

Today we are introducing the next clear stamp set in the Flower Power series. It’s been an age since I added to this series and when I stumbled upon another floral in my archive of designs it seemed perfect to add to the Flower Powers :)

Hopefully you have hopped on over from our AMAZING Guest Designer Anna’s blog. If not, be sure to have a look at Anna’s colourful and cheerful scrapbook layout HERE.

I’ve one more card to share today using this clear stamp set…

IntroFP#82

I’ve been seeing Lime Green with Black & White a lot recently and I thought it would be fun to use the colour combo for my card.

IntroFP#82a

I’ve also been seeing a lot of partial stencilled backgrounds behind images, so I thought I would try my hand at it! I used the Scattered Polka Dot stencil and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. I still need a little practice with my faded blending technique, but I was pleased with the results.

Ok, that is all I’ve had time to make so far using this set :( So many ideas, not enough time! Luckily I have a FAB design team who’ve made amazing projects to share with you. Be sure to hop on round and leave some LOVE.

GIVEAWAY ALERT! As this is a Kindness themed clear stamp set, I will be giving one away to one lucky commenter!
