Introducing… Pattern Building Christmas Tree

Hello!

Happy Saturday and Happy World Card Making Day 😊

I am so glad you come back today as we introduce the last of the September / October 2021 Release product. Today myself and my awesome Brand Ambassadors have another inspiring blog hop and we are introducing another new and super fun stamp set, Pattern Building Christmas Tree.

I am delighted to be bringing you this fun concept stamp set which incorporates my love of pattern. Fingers crosse you love it as much as I do!

Lets have a look at it in action…

The idea behind this stamp set is that you can ‘build’ your Christmas Tree using all or a variety of the patterns and toppers contained in the set. There is of course the option of using and combining previously released Uniko sentiments and pattern style stamps.

Here I have used just a selection of the building strips to create this fun pattern Christmas Tree with incorporated sentiment. The colours, the combinations and ways of stamping add to the variety and fun of this set.

I added a little bit of glitter in places to bring a little more festivity to the card.

For my next card today I went for a similar stamping style, but instead I decided to stamp and emboss my tree white onto Navy card stock.

I also added some snowfall from Background Builders: Winter Wonderland above and below my Christmas Tree.

For my last card today using this clear stamp set I wanted to show how it could possibly be used all year round and not just for Christmas.

A fun rainbow birthday card! Honestly I had so much fun stamping this rainbow of pattern. I’ve then simply added it to my card base on a angle for added interest and finished with a sentiment from Floral Vines and some Nuvo Drops.

I had so much fun creating with this stamp set and all the release for that matter, but I will be sharing more tomorrow in our traditional Reveal, Release, Brand Ambassador Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

I do hop you will stop by tomorrow and join in on the fun.

Introducing… Christmas Sentiments

Hello & Happy Thursday!

I am so glad you come back today as we continue the September / October 2021 Release product introductions. Today myself and my awesome Brand Ambassadors have another inspiring blog hop and we are introducing Christmas Sentiments.

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, where you will find all the links to the Brand Ambassador blogs.

It’s no secret that I have had a crush on this font style for some time now – haha! So it was necessary to use it for a festive sentiment set, because lets face it, you can never have too many sentiment clear stamp sets!

It’s always a bit of a challenge to showcase a sentiment set, but it is also a good opportunity to use the sentiments and combine them with some of your favourite festive products.

As you can see, for my first card I have paired 4 of the mix and match sentiments with the Stencil – Winter Foliage.

For this I have simply applied white embossing paste through the stencil onto a white card base. I have then stamped and embossed the sentiments in white onto small scraps of coloured card. So fun and pretty quick to make.

For my second card today I decided to use the ‘Let it Snow’ sentiment and paired it with a long time favourite, Stunning Snowflakes.

Some simple repeat stamping of the sentiment and some sparkly embossed snowflakes – be still my snowflake loving heart!

That’s all I have to share with you today using these sentiment, but you will see more of them this week and this festive season.

Thanks for stopping by. Crafty Hugs

Introducing… Background Builders Winter Wonderland

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I am so glad you have popped by today as it is the first of the September / October 2021 Release product introductions. Today myself and my awesome Brand Ambassadors have an inspiring blog hop and we are introducing Background Builders: Winter Wonderland.

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, the start of the hop and you will find all the links to the Brand Ambassador blogs.

Here is what I’ve created using this new stamp set…

For my first card using this set I wanted to create a wintery night time scene. I started with a circle stencil mask I created from copy paper. I then ink blended Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire with a little Black Soot around the top edges.

I then stamped the winter stag & tree image in black and the snowfall image in white. I added a few more snow drops using a white gel pen. The sentiment is from another new set we will be introducing this week. I finished the card off with a trio of tiny snowflakes from the Winter Wonderland set and added some gems.

For my second card today I went clean and simple with a modern and non traditional colour way. Spot my mistake of a back to front rainbow!

For this card I created template to cut the sentiment mat layer with a matching curve. I then followed the curve of the scene stamp to place and selectively stamp the sentiment.

I added the snowflake detail stamp to the top in a light grey ink to finish the card off.

Lastly today I went with a rustic Scandi feel and created an all over pattern using 3 of the 4 building stamps.

I added all 3 stamps to a large block, inked and stamped with VersaMark so that I could emboss with WOW! Opaque Bright White EP. I foam mounted the panel onto a matching Kraft card base.

A fairly quick and mass produceable design.

That’s all from me today, be sure to pop back tomorrow for the next of the product introductions.

We’re delighted to welcome back Dhruvika as our Guest Designer for this reminder post.

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, where the Uniko Brand Ambassadors have shared inspiration and you will also find the link up and prize information.

Here’s what I was inspired to create…

Not a slimline card this time, but a modern floral one using the newly released Doodle Flowers. I’ve also put in a trio of smaller flowers from the Background Blocks Doodle Flower for a little bit of variety and interest.

I started by stamping the flowers in a trio of Concord & 9th ink colours, Honeysuckle, Buttercup and Oceanside. I then indulged in some relaxing fussy cutting.

To assemble the card I first stamped the sentiment from Floral Vines and then arranged the flowers. I adhered some flat using DST and some with foam adhesive. I then finished off with a few clear rhinestones.

That’s all from me today, but I will be back soon with more to share using the July Release. Until then, thank you for stopping by & I look forward to seeing you in the gallery.

Introducing… Doodle Flowers

Welcome to Day 5 and the last of the July 2021 Release Product Introductions. I can’t believe we are introducing the final product. Which means tomorrow is Release Day and all the goodies will be available to purchase on the website.

Today we have another inspiring blog hop and I saved the final floral, Doodle Flowers. You might recognise this flower from the previously released Background Blocks Doodle Flower and the Uniko Stencil Doodle Flowers. With the addition to this set in the mix, it provides even more mix and match options AND I’ve included some mix and match sentiments in a current favourite font!

So let’s get to what I’ve made today…

First up I decided to pair the stamps with the previously released stencil. Here I have used texture paste through the stencil to create the background. I have then added the outline doodle flowers which are stamped, coloured and fussy cut out.

I added one of the mix & match sentiments from the set that I have embossed in white onto scraps of black card. I finished the design off with some black Nuvo Drops.

Next I wanted to use the stamp set by itself and make a one layer card. I like these on hand as they’re mail friendly!

I already had my embossing supplies out on my desk, so I masked a section of my card off, stamped the flowers & leaves from the set & heat embossed white. I then used Distress Oxide Inks in Salvaged Patina and Wilted Violet to blend over the top.

Once I was happy I stamped another of the mix and match sentiments from the set and embellished with a few enamel dots from my stash.

Lastly for today I wanted to pair the set with the Background Block Doodle Flower.

For this I kept it simple. I stamped the block pattern in black and added some colour using Copic Markers. I stamped and fussy cut both the solid doodle flower and leaves from the set, placing them so I knew where to stamp the sentiment from the set.

This set really is good fun and has even more options when paired with the other coordinating products. Be sure to checkout the Brand Ambassador blogs for more inspiration and don’t forget to leave a comment along the way. I will be randomly selecting comments left in the lead up to Release Day on 25th July to win Uniko goodies!

Until tomorrow, Crafty Hugs

Uniko Challenge #66 – Flowers + optional twist Slimline

 Hey!

Welcome to the July/August 2021 Uniko Challenge.
We have the super simple theme of Flowers and an optional twist of Slimline.

We’re delighted to welcome Dhruvika (Cardogram) as our Guest Designer. Dhruvika is very active on Instagram and her wonderful cards can be found HERE.

It’s the last day of school for The Beans today and I needed some Thank You cards for their teachers, so I thought I’d use the opportunity of making a card for the challenge. This is what I came up with…

It’s been a while since I used the Alphabet Outlined, so I dusted it off to spell out the THANKS part of the message and coloured with Copic Markers. I wanted to keep it modern and graphic, so chose the loopy floral blooms from Kindness Blooms to frame the sentiment.

I decided to keep them simple and stamped in black, just adding a little bit of White Gloss Nuvo Drops to the centres. I finished off with the ‘So Much’ sentiment, which is a peek at something coming in the July Release 😉

Be sure to head on over to the Uniko Blogspot Blog for all the details of the challenge, the prize info and the link up. I look forward to seeing you in the challenge gallery.

Uniko Challenge #64 Signs of Spring with Optional Twist Easter

 Hey!

Welcome to the March/April 2021 Uniko Challenge.

Here in the UK the days are getting lighter and even if the weather is not catching up that well we are seeing signs of Spring. So that’s the theme for our new challenge.

We’re delighted to welcome Stephanie as our guest Designer for this challenge. I’m sure many of you will know her well and been inspired by her wonderful cards. A visit to her blog is always a pleasure, find it HERE.

WOW! what a stunning card using those Uniko Originally Organic stamps on vellum and subtle French Script background.

I’ve been loving the signs of Spring on my daily walks to and from the school and The Beans have been learning about the seasons, so it is a hot topic of conversation.

I decided to give some fresh inky love to one of the Flower Power stamp sets, Flower Power #6 in particular with a sentiment from Flower Power #4.

I love using stamps I haven’t used for a while and it was a delight to use these roses and create this climbing frame.

That’s all I have to share, but be sure to hop on over HERE and see what the Brand Ambassadors have created. You will also find the link up to the challenge and all the prize details 🙂

Uniko Challenge #63 – Anything Goes + Optional Twist Use A Stencil

 Hey!

Welcome to the January/February 2021 Uniko Challenge.

We’re kicking off the year with a simple main theme of Anything Goes and have added in a popular twist of Use A Stencil(s).

I love an anything goes challenge, but sometimes you still need a starting point to get going!

My starting point, one which I use quite often is dusting off stamps I haven’t used for a while that have just come back in stock. AND now as I type this post, I could have been subconsciously influenced by the challenge graphic!

Marvellous Mehndi is a stamp set that features this large focal mandala along with smaller accent stamps inspired by Mehndi, a form of body art and temporary skin decoration originating in ancient India. The set also has a flavour of Paisley patterns, which were also influenced by Indian imports back in the 18th and 19th Centuries.

As you can see I decided to use the optional twist and combined the Stencil – Mehndi Mandala with the Marvellous Mehndi mandala.

I started out with a piece of white card 10.5 x 14 cm and I used ink daubers to bad through my chosen Concord & 9th ink colours, Midnight, Eggplant, Honeysuckle, Marmalade and Buttercup. I purposefully off centred the design for a little interest and to possibly add a sentiment.

I’ve then stamped and coloured the mandala in similar Copic colours, fussy cut the mandala out and layered it over the stencilled design, again off centre. I adhered it using 1mm thick foam adhesive for added interest and depth.

I’m really please how this turned out and I feel it conveys the beauty, depth and detail that can be seen in Mehndi.

Okay, enough prattling on from me. As you can tell I am in my element when talking about pattern and design 😉

Be sure to head on over to the Uniko blogspot blog HERE to see all the stunning Brand Ambassador inspiration. You will also find the link up for the challenge at the end of the post!

See Ya 2020!

 Happy New Years Eve!

My apologies for my disappearance just before & over Christmas. I simply took on too much and got totally overwhelmed before Christmas with how much I needed to get done and then Christmas Day came & went! I have since been enjoying some much needed downtime with The Beans & my husband.

This is a little snapshot of our Christmas Day!

I hope you all had a lovely day even though it may have looked different this year under the circumstances.

As 2020 draws to a close, one of the strangest and another of the hardest years in my 41 years of life, I am looking not to what was bad or hard, but to all that I am grateful for.

I am grateful for…

 good health

my family

to have a roof over my head

for my business

FOR YOU ALL HERE

Thank you for your continued support & custom at Uniko and sticking with me during one of the toughest years. This card is for YOU ALL.

Today after clearing a walk way and an area on my desk, I made time for me in the studio to create this simple one layer thank you card. Apart from the smaller thank you stamps and one which is on the retired shelf, I think I *need* to design some larger thank you sentiment stamps 😉

Though having Alphabet Outlined is proving to be very useful to spell out larger words, which is what I did for todays card. I paired it with the flower from You Are, Yes You and simply coloured with Copic Markers.
That’s all my creativity I have to share with you today, but before I go and maybe pour myself a large glass of gin, I have a little discount code for you to use on the Uniko website.

THANK YOU once again for all your support & custom. Cheers to a New Year with LOTS more exciting Uniko products to come your way. Nothing, not even Covid 19 is going to stop me from bringing you more FUN and inspiration.

Love You, Always & Forever

Happy Weekend!

I thought I’d pop by and share a quick Valentine’s card I made the other night using Always & Forever and Background Blocks Scattered Hearts.

Yep, I’m still on that rainbow kick! But don’t these scattered hearts down the edge of the card look so pretty in a rainbow colours?

Currently I am using Catherine Pooler Midnight ink to stamp images that I know I am going to colour with Copic Markers, so this is what I did with the hearts. The Always & Forever sentiment is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink as this is my go to for sentiments, especially fine lined ones like this.

No major plans here this weekend, just downtime with The Beans and hopefully a little time in the studio to create 😉

Have a wonderful day.
