December 2018 Reveal, Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Woohoo!

Finally the day has arrived and the December 2018 Reveal, Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY is here! The Release will be available to purchase HERE at a NEW time of 9pm GMT tonight.

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, where I have formally introduced all the NEW products. Now I have a couple more cards to share using some of the new stamps & stencils.

First up I have a card using Wonderful Day…

Dec2018RD1

I thought I’d start with a bright and cheerful card :) When I made my previous Wonderful Day cards I shared HERE, I stamped a bunch of the layered solid flower blooms in a variety of colours. These were 3 that were leftover and perfect to pop on a card.

Dec2018RD1a

I kept the card really simple with the Wonderful Day sentiment, embellishing the flowers with a leaf & foliage sprig and some Glossy Simply White Nuvo Drops. I added dimension to just the one pink flower and whole panel is adhered to the card base using foam adhesive too.

Next I had to use Pure Florals: Peony…

Dec2018RD3

This time I stamped and embossed the smaller Peony bloom with VersaMark & Detail White EP onto watercolour card. I then used my Altenew watercolours to colour the blooms. Again, I am no expert at colouring or watercoloring, but having embossed the flowers, it gives you a line to keep inside. Plus with Peony flowers being so ‘fluffy’ and full you can get away with a more free style and artistic approach to colouring. Well, that’s my thinking anyway 😉

Dec2018RD3a

The sentiment is just one of the options from the stamp set and again I fussy cut and layered the blooms, with just the top left adhered with foam adhesive for a little dimension.

Lastly, I went Christmassy and used the Stencil In The Forest…

Dec2018RD2

To create this card I used Distress Oxide Inks in Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive and Forest Moss. I secured my card layer and stencil in place and then loosely masked around each tree to selectively colour it with one of the trio of greens. It was quite a timely process, but the result is pretty cool.

Dec2018RD2a

I tied some red bakers twine with a bell bow to make the card resemble a Christmas gift and added the Jingle Bells sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

That’s all I have to share with you for today, but I know that the team have an abundance of inspiration to show you using the new products.

Carol

Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win the ENTIRE Release!! You have until Midnight (GMT) Friday 14th December 2018 to comment and the winner will be announced soon after.

Happy Hopping!

Introducing… Uniko Stencils – In The Forest and Let it Snow

Hey!

Welcome to Day 1 of the December 2018 Release product introductions.

This is the fun part where you get to see the sneak peeks I shared yesterday in action on cards & projects. As December is a super busy time for everyone, it is just me doing the product introductions for this release. Though the Uniko DT will be joining me on Release Day for our traditional blog hop :)
So I have a couple more cards to share using the 2 new stencils…
IntroDec18Stencils2
For this first card I couldn’t resist using the white stencil medium again! I just love the glossy finish it gives and also the subtle dimension to designs.
IntroDec18Stencils2a
I kept the design simple by framing my stencilled panel, adding a little ribbon loop to the edge & a sentiment from the popular Simply Said Blocks Christmas clear stamp set released back in October.
Lastly I have one more card to share using the Let it Snow stencil…
IntroDec18Stencils4
I decided to pair it with another older and popular favourite, BIG & BOLD Snow clear stamps. After inking the stencil with Altenew Ocean Waves & Dusk inks I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the snowflakes & some Simply White Gloss Nuvo Drops, slightly off centre to the dots in the design.
IntroDec18Stencils4a
I used my MISTI tool to stamp the large ‘snow’ sentiment in Desert Night ink and then again in VersaMark ink to heat emboss with Stardust EP. Some therapeutic fussy cutting & my favourite 1mm thick foam adhesive to assemble the card 😉
That’s all I have to share today using these new stencils. I do have a card HERE using them, so be sure to check it out! I will be back tomorrow with another product introduction and lots more inspiration.
As it is the season of giving, each day of the introductions I will be randomly selecting one lucky comment from either this blog post, the Uniko website blog post, Facebook or Instagram to receive an eGift Certificate code to the value of £10! So be sure to leave a lovely comment 😉 Winners will be announced on Tuesday 11th December before the release!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Jolly Christmas is Back!!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

I do hope your weekend has got off to a better start than mine!

I think I tired myself out last night painting The Beans room while they slept over at their Grandparents and then when that was done we had 2 BIG boy single beds to assemble. I think we finished up at about 11:30 pm !!

Then today I feel like I have spent the day doing errands, only to find frustrating obstacles everywhere I went. To top the day off I have just discovered a leak from our en-suite toilet and it dripping through the ceiling into the playroom. This calls for some R&R and GIN!

On a positive note, The Beans LOVE their new BIG boy beds and are tucked up fast asleep. My FIL has been round and hopefully fixed the leak too – fingers crossed all stays well overnight!

ANYWAY… enough of all my woes! I am SUPER excited that Jolly Christmas is now back in stock – YAY! He was the only sell out from the October Release and now he is back I am itching to share more using him, like I have on the card…

JollyChristmasSnow

On Thursday I took a trip out to our local Crafters Companion store with a friend and I was super happy to finally get my hands on some Simply White Gloss Nuvo Drops :) plus a few other colours! I’d seen Yana Smakula’s card HERE using them as a snowy background and had to give it a go.

JollyChristmasSnow1

I’ve used Prismacolor Pencils to colour my Jolly Santa in and added Stampin’ Up! Glitter to the bobble & brim of his hat, along with the cuffs of his coat. The sentiment is a favourite of mine from Simply Said Christmas. I used the current Freshly Made Sketches layout for my card seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 362-001

I had a lovely crafternoon on Thursday making cards to share with all the restocks that arrived in the studio this week. Lots of popular clear stamps are back in store including, Background Builders: Seeing Stars, Birthday Sentiments, I LOVE Coffee, Kindness Blooms and So Much. I will be sharing my cards over the coming days :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Uniko Day 8!

Hey!

I’m super happy you’ve popped by today as here at Uniko we are super excited to be part of a wonderful festive event…

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

This is the 8th year the lovely and creative Tracey McNeely  from In My Creative Opinion has organised this fun and festive event to spread Christmas Cheer.

Uniko are honoured to be one of the 26 sponsors of the event and to be taking part :)

Sponsors 2018

Myself and the some of the Uniko Design Team have got our festive on and created some Christmas Tags to share with you, so let’s get to the inspiration!

Uniko25DaysChristmasTags

I wanted to go ‘Classic Christmas’ with a modern look, so I decided upon a holly theme for my tag duo :)

For my first tag on the right I wanted to use Background Builders: Christmas 2018 and a Lawn Fawn ‘joy’ die I have had for over a year now, but not used :(

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8a

I started by stamping the stripes from Background Builders: Christmas 2018 in Altenew Industrial Diamond ink. The joy is die cut 5 times from Stampin’ Up! Real Red card and layered to give it dimension. I also added some fine glitter using a glue pen. The holly sprig is from Winter Foliage and the Christmas sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8b

I used some Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow Satin Ribbon and some Stampin’ Up! Basic Grey Bakers Twine for the bow. The tag shape is also from Papertrey Ink.

Next I decided to use Background Builders: Christmas and my favourite 2 step holly background stamps to create an all over background on my tag.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8c

I used Altenew Moss & Ruby Red inks to stamp the holly background and this time I added a vellum overlay tag, which I added a sentiment from Jolly Christmas & Simply Said II, with some more holly from Winter Foliage to accent it.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8d

Again the ribbon is from Papertrey Ink & this time it is Simply Chartreuse and the Bakers Twine is Cherry Cobbler from Stampin’ Up! The tag shape is Clearly Besotted.

I hope I have inspired you to join in on this fun event and I would love to see someone inspired by a Uniko tag in the gallery!

How about some more festive inspiration from the Uniko Design Team. Be sure to stop by their blogs (links below) and leave some love!

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Day 2 Inspired

Hey & Happy Monday!

I am back tonight with another tag to share. I am so inspired by all the beautiful tags that I have seen around social media, I’ve finally got myself organised and actually join in on Tracey McNeeley’s 25 Days Of Christmas Tags event AND not just as a sponsor!

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Yep, you read that right, Uniko is one of the 26 sponsors of the 8th 25 Days Of Christmas Tags – YAY! Below is a graphic showing all of the wonderful sponsors of this event…

Sponsors 2018

So I am joining in on the fun and made this tag to share…
25DaysOfChristmasTags2

My inspiration for this tag came from Tracey’s tag HERE on Day 2. I love the fresh green’s of the berry sprig with pops of red that Tracey had used along with the gold embossing. It made me think of the bough from Peace On Earth, so I dusted my set off and got it inky!

25DaysOfChistmasTags2a

As the bough image is just one single stamp, after I had stamped it in Altenew Moss ink, I went in with a dark green Prismacolor pencil and added some details to the leaves. The berries from Winter Foliage are stamped in Ruby Red ink and fussy cut out. The gold embossed sentiment is a mix of Simply Said II and Simply Said Christmas.

25DaysOfChistmasTags2b

I love ribbon and I am a total hoarder of it! I have so many pretty Papertrey Ink ribbons that rarely see daylight and it is fun to be adding them to tags :) This one is Bitty Polka Dot in New Leaf. The tag shape is Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag.

That’s all I have to share with you today, but I hope to be back tomorrow with more and I hope I have inspired you a little to join in on this fun event?!

Thanks for stopping by :)

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Day 1 Inspired

Hey!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend? And those in the UK have had a warm and safe Bonfire Night.

We’ve just got back from taking The Beans to the fireworks show at the riverside in town. When we told them tonight that it was time to get ready, they both rushed to get their Disney Magic Bands. They thought we were going to The Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks there!!  Oh how I wish we were still in Florida 😉

Anyway, today I have a tag to share. I thought it was about time I  got myself organised and actually join in on Tracey McNeeley’s 25 Days Of Christmas Tags event AND not just as a sponsor!

25DaysChristmasTags1

My inspiration for this tag came from Jo Nevill’s tag HERE on Day 1 of the event. As soon as I saw Jo’s card I instantly thought of the NEW Background Builders: Christmas 2018 clear stamp set. Plus I do love this colour combo red, kraft and white.

25DaysOfChristmasTags1a

Along with using Background Builders: Christmas 2018 on the kraft die cut tag (Papertrey Ink), I used the smallest snowflake die from the Designer Die Snowflake Trio, the solid flower stamped in red is from Flower Power #1 and the sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

25DaysOfChristmasTags1b

It’s hard to see in the photo, but I added clear Wink of Stella to the snowflake for a little bit of sparkle. The 3 black dots in the flower centre were added using a fine liner to make the flower resemble a poinsettia.

That’s all I have to share with you today, but I hope to be back tomorrow with more and I hope I have inspired you a little to join in on this fun event?!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Christmas Folk Snowflake

Wow!

What a busy few days here at Uniko HQ, you guys have kept me out of mischief with all your lovely release day orders. I am so happy to see so many new, returning and loyal customers and I am glad that you love the products I have designed.

THANK YOU for keeping my little business and dream alive :)

Today I thought I would share a card I have managed to make this afternoon in-between the chaos of family time at home this weekend.

When I design new products, one of the elements I like to try and incorporate is how products can be mixed, matched and work together. And this is what I have done with one of the background stamps from Background Builders: Christmas 2018 and the Stencil – Christmas Folk Snowflake.

ChristmasFolkSnowflake

The main image of the snowflake both in the stamp set and the stencil are the same. It is just the smaller details I have added to make the designs different. So they work together beautifully, but not overly repeating the image too much.

ChristmasFolkSnowflake1

For this card I used Altenew Ruby Red ink to stamp the Christmas Folk Snowflake across the top and bottom of my base card. I then trimmed a piece of white card to 10 x 10.5 cm for my focal image and masked off one Christmas Folk Snowflake on the stencil. I used the same colour ink to ink through the stencil.

The sentiment is a combination of Simply Said II and Most Wonderful. And to finish the card off I used some Stampin’ Up! Real Red card to mat the focal layer, adhering it to the base card using foam adhesive. Some White Blizzard Glitter Nuvo drops finished the centres of the snowflakes perfectly.

I hope I have inspired you a little and to look at your Uniko products you have or other manufacturers and see how they can be used together.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Introducing… BIG & BOLD Merry and Background Builders: Christmas 2018

Hey!

Welcome back to day 4 of the October 2018 Release product introductions.
This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days :)

Thank you for all the comment love yesterday here and on social media. If you missed the first 3 days of introductions, you can catch up HERE, HERE and HERE.

Today we are introducing the final two clear stamp sets, BIG & BOLD Merry and Background Builders: Christmas 2018.
IntroBBchristmas2018a
This card was totally inspired by one the lovely Keren Baker shared on Instagram HERE. I loved how Keren had weaved the paper strips and so I wanted to recreate this with stamps. One of the stamps in Background Builders: Christmas 2018 is a line of small diagonal lines. Which when stamped & overlapped, it creates a plaid style effect.
IntroBBchristmas2018bThe sentiment is from the new Simply Said Blocks Christmas and I added in the holly leaves from Winter Foliage. I used Nuvo Drops to create the holly berries.
As usual my AWESOME Design Team have created projects to share with you all too. Be sure to hop along, commenting along the way. You never know, I might just pick some random comments to WIN some prizes this release 😉

Sarah P

WOW! This has been a fun few days of product introductions and I for one have loved seeing how my Design Team bring the products to life. So, we have reached the end of the product introductions, which means tomorrow is the BIG day!

We will have our usual Reveal, Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY at 9am tomorrow here on the blog AND the RELEASE will go LIVE at 9pm GMT over HERE on the website.

Introducing… Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom & Quilted Stencil

Hey!

Welcome back to day 3 of the October 2018 Release product introductions.

This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days :)

Thank you for all the comment love yesterday here and on social media. If you missed yesterday, you can catch up HERE, where myself & the DT introduced 2 Stencil Designs and an addition to the Simply Said Blocks series. You can catch up HERE with day 1, where myself and the Design Team re-introduced Background Builders: Christmas and Jolly Christmas clear stamp sets.

Today we are introducing Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom & another Stencil, Quilted. Hopefully you have hoped on over from HERE where I have shared a couple of cards that we made at last weekends Uniko Stamping Retreat.

I’ve just the one card today to share, using Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom…

IntroWBsweetbroom1

My thinking behind this card was that I wanted to recreate the feel of first frost (or first snow as parts of the NE of the UK have experienced yesterday) on winter foliage.

IntroWBsweetbroom1a

I chose to use Altenew inks in two shades of grey to stamp the outline and inner detail of the foliage images, then added lots of glitter to the white spaces left. There is so much sparkle on this card! The sentiment is from Pure Florals: Poinsettia.

IntroWBsweetbroom1b

That’s all I have to share today, but my AWESOME Design Team have created projects to share with you all too. Be sure to hop along, commenting along the way. You never know, I might just pick some random comments to WIN some prizes this release 😉

Sarah P

WOW! That was another inspirational hop, so many new ideas of how to use these new stencils and sentiment stamps. I hope you enjoyed the hop & will come back tomorrow for the last product introductions.
