Stamp Set Focus – Background Builders Classics

Hey!

I had planned on writing this blog post last night, but the motherhood exhaustion hit post Bean bedtime and I just chilled instead – sorry!

Anyway, this is one of those types of post that I keep meaning to do more of and then life/other work gets in the way. I had also envisioned I would use more of the stamps from the clear stamp set I am focusing on, but I kinda got hooked on just one of the stamps! Please tell me it’s not just me that has these problems ūüėČ

For my first ‘Stamp Set Focus’, I wanted to use the recently released Background Builders Classics. I felt it needed a little more inky love.

For my first two cards I used the same layout (inspired by Jane’s Uniko DT post HERE). I used the horizontal stripe stamp from the set more as an accent, rather than to build a background too.

StampFocusBBClassics1

For this first card I dusted off some older clear stamp sets. The large bold HAPPY is from All Occasion Sentiments #2 and it is so much fun to stamp it in a rainbow of colours! The flowers are from Flower Power #7 and the smaller script birthday is from Simply Said Birthday. I added a few Nuvo Drops to finish of my design.

StampFocusBBClassics1a

As I still had the horizontal stripe stamp positioned in my MISTI, I stamped up another to create my next card. This time combining it with a sentiment from the recently released Sentiments Outlined and accented with some blooms from Beautiful Blooms II.

StampFocusBBClassics2

I love how quick this card was to make, just a little bit of simple stamping and masking for the blooms and a little dimension for the stamped panel.

StampFocusBBClassics2a

Next I switched up the orientation of my card and used another of my favourite techniques and paired the stamp with some other ‘older’ Uniko stamps.

StampFocusBBClassics3

Using a stamping tool means your stamp is always in the same place for repeated stamping. This is handy for this technique, where I have used water  based markers to colour my stamp. I have done this technique quite a few times, like HERE.

StampFocusBBClassics3a

I used Stampin’ Up! markers in Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Costal Cabana for a lovely tropical palette to go with images from Paradise and Paradise Leaves.

Lastly, I wanted to ‘build’ a background and this is the result…

StampFocusBBClassics4

Having created a bold background I wanted to showcase it in a way not to take too much focus from it and it also needed a pop of colour.

StampFocusBBClassics4a

I used Stampin’ Up! dies to create the HAPPY, which I die cut each letter 3 times and adhered them together with glue. I wanted them to have some dimension but not too much to make the card bulky. Again I used the partially stamped sentiment, script birthday from Simply Said Birthday.

I hope I have inspired you a little and given you some new ideas and techniques to try out. I sure had fun using this one stamp!

Thanks for stopping by.

Uniko Challenge #54 – Flowers with an optional twist of Die Cuts

Hey!

Welcome to the July / August 2019 Uniko Challenge.

We’ve another lovely favourite theme of flowers for this new challenge, but if you’d like to challenge yourself a bit more then go with our twist of using die cuts.

We’re really delighted to have Amy¬†as our Guest Designer for this challenge. Just look at this beautiful layered die cut floral. Such happy and pretty colours too. Be sure to hop on over to Amy’s blog for more details and leave a lovely comment.

This is such a wonderful time of year in the Northern Hemisphere to be inspired by the bounty of florals in the Summer gardens. I love flowers and I was excited to ink some older Uniko flowers that haven’t seen much ink recently and I also wanted to go with the ‘twist’ of the challenge too!

UnikoChallenge#54

As you can see I chose to ink up Flower Power #2 and use the coordinating dies. This is one of my favourite flowers from the Flower Power series to cluster in colourful blooms.

UnikoChallenge#54b

I paired the flowers with leaves from Natures Treasures and also a NEW sentiment from the upcoming July 2019 Release ūüėČ You will see more of this sentiment on Monday on the blogs!

UnikoChallenge#54c

I’ve used Gloss White Nuvo Drops for the flower centres and I have also added White Blizzard Nuvo Drops inside the lines of the sentiment.

The Uniko DT have also been busy and have created some awesome flowery cards to inspire you to join in and play along, so be sure to pop on by their blogs.

Uniko Challenge #52 – Spring with Optional Twist Easter

Hey!

Welcome to the March/April 2019 Uniko Challenge.

Well the days are getting longer here in the UK and we look forward to warmer weather and more sunshine so our theme for this new challenge reflects that. We’d like your cards to be themed around Spring and if you celebrate Easter why not add our twist to your creations?¬†

We have the very talented Monika from Tinker Cards joining us as our Guest Designer for this challenge. Her card is just amazing, so fresh and clean and beautiful!

Awesome isn’t it? Be sure to go visit Monika’s blog HERE and tell her!

Here is what I was inspired to make…

USC#52

I was inspired to dust off Flower Power #2 and a sentiment from Flower Power #4, they are currently in the sale over HERE ūüėČ

USC#52a

I’ve used Distress Oxide Inks to create my little rectangle background & before removing my masks I used the Scattered Polka Hexagon Stencil to add some Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste. The ‘cherry blossom’ flower from Flower Power #2 is coloured with Copic Markers and I’ve used the coordinating Flower Power Designer Dies to cut the flower & stem out.

The design team have some wonderful inspiration too, so be sure to visit them too & leave some love :)

I hope you will join us and play along. Just in case you need some more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes.

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Day 1 Inspired

Hey!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend? And those in the UK have had a warm and safe Bonfire Night.

We’ve just got back from taking The Beans to the fireworks show at the riverside in town. When we told them tonight that it was time to get ready, they both rushed to get their Disney Magic Bands. They thought we were going to The Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks there!! ¬†Oh how I wish we were still in Florida ūüėČ

Anyway,¬†today I have a tag to share. I thought it was about time I ¬†got myself organised and actually join in on Tracey McNeeley’s 25 Days Of Christmas Tags event AND not just as a sponsor!

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Yep, you read that right, Uniko is one of the 26 sponsors of the 8th 25 Days Of Christmas Tags – YAY! Below is a graphic showing all of the wonderful sponsors of this event…

Sponsors 2018

So I am joining in on the fun and made this tag to share…

25DaysChristmasTags1

My inspiration for this tag came from Jo Nevill’s tag HERE on Day 1 of the event. As soon as I saw Jo’s card I instantly thought of the NEW Background Builders: Christmas 2018 clear stamp set. Plus I do love this colour combo red, kraft and white.

25DaysOfChristmasTags1a

Along with using Background Builders: Christmas 2018 on the kraft die cut tag (Papertrey Ink), I used the smallest snowflake die from the Designer Die Snowflake Trio, the solid flower stamped in red is from Flower Power #1 and the sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

25DaysOfChristmasTags1b

It’s hard to see in the photo, but I added clear Wink of Stella to the snowflake for a little bit of sparkle. The 3 black dots in the flower centre were added using a fine liner to make the flower resemble a poinsettia.

That’s all I have to share with you today, but I hope to be back tomorrow with more and I hope I have inspired you a little to join in on this fun event?!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Uniko Challenge #47 – Photo Inspiration & Optional Twist Birthday

Hey!

Welcome to the May/June, 2018 Uniko challenge.

This month we have a beautiful photo that we hope will inspire you to play along. Lots of ways to be inspired by the photo – the colours, the flowers, the grasses, the gorgeous vase or maybe the suitcase will give you a vacation vibe. Any way this photo talks to you is ok by us, but if you’d like an extra challenge then play along with our super simple twist of BIRTHDAY.

As you’ve probably noticed the Uniko DT has grown this year with the addition of four talented ladies onto our Stencil Team. So of course there’s going to be even more DT inspiration to get your creativity flowing and we also have the most wonderful Guest Designer – Sue¬†– joining in with us for this challenge.

Her winning card from the¬†last challenge¬†really caught our eye here at Uniko and if you go visit her blog you’ll find oodles more fabulous inspiration.

Guest Designer – Sue

Loving her use of Uniko goodies on this deliciously pretty card.
And here is what I came up with to hopefully inspire you…
USC#47
I was particularly inspired by the flower blooms in the vase and wanted to give Flower Power #8 from the May 2018 Release a little more inky love. I used a recent purchase of the Altenew Tea Party ink collection to stamp the trio of flowers. I then fussy cut the blooms out and adhered them to a die cut panel using double sided and foam adhesive. The die I used is the Pretty Pink Posh Scalloped Borders 1 collection.
USC#47b
I also stamped the individual leaves from Flower Power #8 to create a duo of leave and again fussy cut them out. The sentiment is from Birthday Sentiments & I added some Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Drops to embellish the flowers and panel.
USC#47a
I was also inspired by the pattern on the pretty suitcase, so I replicated the idea using the Stylised Floral Stencil, also from the May 2018 Release. I used Crushed Olive Distress Ink. The layout of my card is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.
FMS Final 337-001
That’s all from me today, but the Uniko Design team also have some inspiring card ideas to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too ūüėČ

Introducing… Flower Power #8

Hey!

Welcome to day 5 of the May 2018 Release product introductions!

Today we are introducing the next clear stamp set in the Flower Power series. It’s been an age since I added to this series and when I stumbled upon another floral in my archive of designs it seemed perfect to add to the Flower Powers :)

Hopefully you have hopped on over from our AMAZING Guest Designer Anna’s blog. If not, be sure to have a look at Anna’s colourful and cheerful scrapbook layout HERE.

I’ve one more card to share today using this clear stamp set…

IntroFP#82

I’ve been seeing Lime Green with Black & White a lot recently and I thought it would be fun to use the colour combo for my card.

IntroFP#82a

I’ve also been seeing a lot of partial stencilled backgrounds behind images, so I thought I would try my hand at it! I used the Scattered Polka Dot stencil and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. I still need a little practice with my faded blending technique, but I was pleased with the results.

Ok, that is all I’ve had time to make so far using this set :( So many ideas, not enough time! Luckily I have a FAB design team who’ve made amazing projects to share with you. Be sure to hop on round and leave some LOVE.

GIVEAWAY ALERT! As this is a Kindness themed clear stamp set, I will be giving one away to one lucky commenter!

November 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!!¬†For those of you who are new around these parts I will explain what this post is all about…

Here at Uniko HQ it is just myself behind the screen, blogging, designing, packaging stamps & orders through the Uniko online shop, customer service and all the things in between. I *usually* release new product every other month for a number of reasons, but mainly so I can keep up with everything!
On non – release months like this month I like to set myself and the Design Team a challenge to look back at a previously released product and give it some more love.
Usually I choose a product that was released the previous year or a once favourite that hasn’t seen much air time! This month however, I decided to look back at a few products Uniko released in October 2017 HERE.

Specifically the Uniko Designer Dies and NEW Uniko Stencils…

Designer Die Snowflake Trio £15, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Designer Dies Flower Power #1 Р#6 Collection £12, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Uniko Stencil Scattered Polka Dots £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Uniko Stencil Wonky Stripes £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

So, I have a little trio of cards to share with you today using some of these products. I was hoping to have more than three projects, but my plans were foiled yesterday by a poorly bean with a high temp, which consequently meant no nursery and no free time for this mummy! Hopefully what I do have to share will inspire you?!

First up a snowflake card…

UnikoNov17BH2

For this card I was inspired by this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. The angled section on the sketch made me instantly think of the Wonky Stripes stencil.

FMS Final 312-001

I reached for my newest Altenew Shades Of Purple inks and masked off a section of the stencil before pouncing the ink onto my card base from lightest to darkest to match the lower left angled section of the sketch.

UnikoNov17BH2a

The snowflake is the medium size of the trio and after die cutting from white card I then applied Lavender Fields ink and then applied a sparkly covering of Stampin’ Up! glitter ūüėČ The sentiment is from Simply Said II.

Next I wanted to give the new Flower Power 1 – 6 Collection of dies some love…

UnikoNov17BH1

Firstly I decided to reach for Flower Power #4 one of the flowers I tend to neglect :( I decided to create a cascade effect of all the elements contained in the set, reaching for my trusty colour combination to inspire me. With it being the season of thanks I used a sentiment from Flower Power #3.

UnikoNov17BH1b

All the stamps in this series are designed to coordinate and mix and match with one another to help stretch your supplies and provide you with more creative options.

UnikoNovBH1c

Lastly, I reached for one of my favourites, Flower Power #2. This flower is inspired by Cherry Blossom and as I have been designing Spring themed clear stamps in the studio I was inspired to use this flower.

UnikoNovBH3

I stamped a subtle background using the ‘Just For You’ sentiment and layered my stamped and die cut flower over the top adhering with foam adhesive. I then decided to pair the ‘Happy Birthday’ from Simply Said Blocks.

UnikoNovBH3a

That’s all I have to share with you today, but I know the Design Team have a wealth of inspiration to share with you, prepare to be WOWED! Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win ALL the products being revisited. You have until Midnight (GMT) Saturday 18th November to comment and the winner will be announced Sunday 19th November 2017.

Happy Hopping!

Design Team Inspiration… Colouring on Kraft Card

Hey all it’s Rahmat here.

I am up with a simple card using the Flower Power set, and sentiment from the Pure florals РLily. Please watch the video, it is self explanatory.

You can also stop by my instagram at rahmat.ccc, if you want to hear me out about how I made this card, it is a shorter video over there.

I hope you like what I have come up with. Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

Uniko Sponsors CASology!

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

I do hope you are having a good week so far? It is a busy one here at Uniko HQ as we are in full swing with the October 2017 Release. We have had all the clear stamp set sneak peeks and I have been sharing some other product peeks over on Instagram and Facebook! There is also a peek at a new die collection in this post ūüėČ

Anyway, along with all the festivities, Uniko is super duper happy to be sponsoring one of my favourite challenges this week, CASology.

This week the cue word over at CASology HERE is ‘ODD’…

Week 270 - Odd

I found this a little hard a first, but I then got to thinking of odd numbers and this card came about…

UnikoSponsorsCASologyODD1{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I chose an ‘odd’ number of flowers and my favourite number! I dusted of Flower Power #1 clear stamps and paired them with the NEW matching Flower Power Designer Dies. Yep, another NEW set of coordinating dies :)

The layout of my card is loosely based on this weeks CAS Colours & Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. I’ve my Design Team card over HERE too, if you want some more inspiration today!

sketch 244

To make my card a little more ‘odd’ I decided to use both positive and negative die cutting for the flower trio…

I hope you’re inspired to join in on the challenges & I look forward to seeing you in the galleries too! I will be back a little later on with another Uniko Sponsorship card!

Until then, thanks for stopping by!
