Surprise Stencil Release!

Hello!

Today at Uniko we have a surprise stencil release!

Earlier this month Uniko was at Stamp Magic in Doncaster and I had 3 NEW stencil designs available to purchase at the show and I am super pleased they are NOW available HERE on the website.

Let’s have a look at the 3 new designs…

Uniko Stencil Bright Butterflies £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Uniko Stencil Scattered Polka Hexagons £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Uniko Stencil Mehndi Mandala £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Like with any new release here at Uniko we have a blog hop to celebrate and show you beautiful inspiration using the new products. I am super duper pleased to have a wonderful, talented and all round lovely crafter joining me and the Uniko Stencil DT us as our Guest Designer…. Ruth from Crafting While The Baby Naps. Hopefully you have hopped along from Ruth’s blog, but if not be sure to check out Ruth’s amazing inspiration HERE.

And as with all the Uniko Blog Hops we have a GIVEAWAY too! Simply comment along the hop for your chance to win one of the three stencil designs being released and as there are 3 new designs, I will randomly pick 3 lucky winners!!

Ok, how about some inspiration from myself using the new designs…

IntroMandalaStencil2

First up is the card in my sneak photo over on the Uniko Blogspot blog! I wanted to show how the Mehndi Mandala stencil can be paired with the large mandala clear stamp from Marvellous Mehndi.

IntroMandalaStencil2a

I started by inking my Mehndi Mandala with Distress Oxide Inks, in Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers. I then stamped the mandala from Marvellous Mehndi, fussy cutting it out and adding some Stampin’ Up! Dazzling Diamonds glitter to various sections. I’ve adhered it to my stencilled layer using 1mm thick foam adhesive.

IntroMandalaStencil2c

I’ve used the Mehndi Mandala stencil for my next card too, this time showing you more of the design…

IntroMandalaStencil1

Again I used Distress Oxide Inks, this time Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers. I offset mounted my stencilled layer with some black card and onto a white card base. The sentiment is from Simply Said and I added an old Stampin’ Up! embellishment.

IntroMandalaStencil1a

As I was on a roll with the colour combo of Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers I decided to use if for my Bright Butterflies card…

IntroBButterflyStencil1

I’d had the SU! Crumb Cake card stencilled with the design since Stamp Magic, but I didn’t know how I wanted to use it, until I saw this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below!

FMS Final 342-001

I layered my stencilled section with some scrap turquoise card from my stash and paired it with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II.

IntroBButterfliesStencil1a

Lastly, but by no means least I inked up the Scatted Polka Hexagons stencil…

IntroSPHstencil1

This is a fun geometric stencil and it pairs beautifully with the recently released Bee Happy clear stamp set. This time I used my new Catherine Pooler inks to blend through the stencil.

IntroSPHstencil1a

I used Tiara, Tiki Torch and Tutti Frutti from top to bottom. I then moved the position of the stencil slightly and used a fine liner to draw inside the polka hexagons to create a fun pattern.

IntroSPHstencil1b

To finish the design I trimmed my stencilled panel on the diagonal, die cut a large hexagon, big enough for my chosen sentiment from Bee Happy, which is stamped onto my base card. I’ve then embellished the card with a trio of fussy cut bees.

That’s all the inspiration I have to share with you today, but be sure to hop around the Stencil Design Team blogs below for even more. Don’t forget to comment too, to be in the chance of being a lucky winner!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Uniko Challenge #47 – Photo Inspiration & Optional Twist Birthday

Hey!

Welcome to the May/June, 2018 Uniko challenge.

This month we have a beautiful photo that we hope will inspire you to play along. Lots of ways to be inspired by the photo – the colours, the flowers, the grasses, the gorgeous vase or maybe the suitcase will give you a vacation vibe. Any way this photo talks to you is ok by us, but if you’d like an extra challenge then play along with our super simple twist of BIRTHDAY.

As you’ve probably noticed the Uniko DT has grown this year with the addition of four talented ladies onto our Stencil Team. So of course there’s going to be even more DT inspiration to get your creativity flowing and we also have the most wonderful Guest Designer – Sue – joining in with us for this challenge.

Her winning card from the last challenge really caught our eye here at Uniko and if you go visit her blog you’ll find oodles more fabulous inspiration.

Guest Designer – Sue

Loving her use of Uniko goodies on this deliciously pretty card.
And here is what I came up with to hopefully inspire you…
USC#47
I was particularly inspired by the flower blooms in the vase and wanted to give Flower Power #8 from the May 2018 Release a little more inky love. I used a recent purchase of the Altenew Tea Party ink collection to stamp the trio of flowers. I then fussy cut the blooms out and adhered them to a die cut panel using double sided and foam adhesive. The die I used is the Pretty Pink Posh Scalloped Borders 1 collection.
USC#47b
I also stamped the individual leaves from Flower Power #8 to create a duo of leave and again fussy cut them out. The sentiment is from Birthday Sentiments & I added some Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Drops to embellish the flowers and panel.
USC#47a
I was also inspired by the pattern on the pretty suitcase, so I replicated the idea using the Stylised Floral Stencil, also from the May 2018 Release. I used Crushed Olive Distress Ink. The layout of my card is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.
FMS Final 337-001
That’s all from me today, but the Uniko Design team also have some inspiring card ideas to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too 😉

Guest Designer Inspiration with Anna Uhras

Hi Dear Friends!

Anna here today sharing one of my Guest Designer pages with you. I am so happy, proud and very grateful to Bev for inviting me to be a guest here at Uniko, thanks so much!

This layout I have made using the gorgeous Uniko Equaliser stencil together with some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and the lovely and versatile Simply Said II Clear Stamps.

The papers are by one of the new Bo Bunny collections, Summer Mood, and the title are by Thickers, both from my own stash.

I started up my page making my background using the stencil together with pink and yellow Nuvo Mousse. After drying I builded up my page using a few papers, thread, Thickers and finished my page of with stamping a few words in black.
Sometimes the simple is enough and I think the cool equaliser pattern needs some space without too much embellishments around.

Oh, of course, I made a few stitches with my sewing machine as well :)

That’s all for now, see you again for my second and last Guest Designer Inspiration post here May 26th.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Introducing… Party Confetti & Stylised Floral Stencils

Hey!

Are you still with us?! I didn’t think this was a big release until I started scheduling it on the blog 😉 Welcome back to day four of the product introductions!

Today the Design Team and myself are here to introduce two new Uniko Stencil Designs, Party Confetti and Stylised Floral. Hopefully you have hopped along with the Design Team, I’ve struggled to keep up with work over the long holiday weekend here in the UK. The lovely sunny weather has distracted me to spend time with the Beans and hubby!

Anyway, I am finally here to share a couple of cards using 2 more Uniko Stencils being released on Saturday 12th May.

First up is a card using the new Stylised Floral Stencil…

IntroUnikoStencils1

It just called for me to ink it up with my very small collection of Distress Oxide inks! I think I will be treating myself at Happy Stampers Festival for some more colours 😉

IntroUnikoStencils1a

As you can see I kept my card really simple as I wanted the Stylised Floral design to take centre stage. This is another design way back from my Uni days and I can’t even remember how it came about! I just stubbled across it in my disorganised archive of designs!

Next is another simple card using the Party Confetti Stencil…

IntroUnikoStencils2

If you like the Background Blocks Party Confetti clear stamp, then you might just like this stencil too 😉 This stencil is a larger version of the design with just a few little tweaks to make it work for a stencil! Again I used my Distress Oxide inks to colour through the stencil before trimming and die cutting a curved edge.

IntroUnikoStencils2a

One fun thing about clear sentiment stamps is their ability to bend and shape them to fit in with a design. I’ve not tried this with the Simply Said Blocks stamps before (that I can remember), so I thought I would give it a go with the Congratulations sentiment. With it being the longest of the stamps in the clear stamp set I thought it the best stamp to use. I am rather pleased with how it turned out :) I added a trio of my favourite enamel dots to finish the design off too.

That’s all I have to share with you today. Fingers crossed I am more organised and not so late tomorrow! Be sure to hop along with the Design Team (links below) for more FAB inspiration…

Introducing… Simply Said Blocks II and Natures Treasures II Stencil & Mask

Hey!

Welcome to the first day of the May 2018 Release product introductions. This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team and our Guest Designer for May Anna have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days :)

Today we are introducing 2 products. Simply Said Blocks II a mini clear stamp set with additional popular sentiments in the same style as Simply Said Blocks. And we are ‘officially’ introducing Natures Treasures II Stencil. This stencil was part of the Uniko Stamping Retreat goody bag in Dec 2017. It has proven popular with those that attended, myself and some of the DT, that it was time it was made available to everyone :)

Hopefully you have hopped on by from our lovely Guest Designer, Anna’s blog HERE.

How about a bit more inspiration?! I’ve a couple of cards to share using a combination of the Natures Treasures II Stencil and sentiments from Simply Said Blocks II and a sneak peek of some others from another clear stamp set we will be introducing next week 😉

IntroNT2stencil2

I thought I’d start off with a super CAS card and a bit of partial fussy cutting! For this card I began with a 10.5 x 12 cm piece of white card. I stamped the sentiment from a clear stamp set we are introducing in a couple of days called Just Because first, so that I could then position and ink the leaf.

IntroNTstencil2a

I used a trio of Distress Oxides to do this, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry. I then drew a soft pencil line where I wanted to cut straight and then went ahead and fussy cut it out. This panel is then adhered to my base card using 1mm thick foam adhesive.

For my next card I channeled my inner Laura Bassen, to create this rainbow card.

IntroNT2stencil3

Again I used Distress Oxides and simply worked across from Picked Raspberry down to Wilted Violet. The sentiment is a combination from Simply Said Blocks II and Just Because.

IntroNT2stencil3a

That’s all I have to share with you for today, but there is LOADS more inspiration from my awesome Design Team. Be sure to hop along and leave some love along the way :)

One Layer Stencil Fun!

Hey & Happy Monday!

I do hope your week has begun well? Mine started well, but then took an unplanned turn when Bean no.2 came out in the chicken pox spots. Second time round and it still surprised me as to how suddenly and quickly they begin to appear from nowhere! Luckily my in laws are back from their holiday this week and were able to help look after him while I took Bean no.1 to nursery. It still meant little time for work and what not, but it meant that we were not all stuck inside again.

I am happy that yesterday I managed to make a couple of cards, the first of which I am sharing today…

UnikoOLstencil1

I still had my Fun Flowers Stencil out on my desk from when I made my cards for the Uniko March 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway HERE. And I had been wanting to join in on the current “Less is More” one layer challenge HERE, which is to use stencils, perfect combo!

367 Stencils

I needed a little more of a mojo boost and mooched around my ‘go to’ challenges for a colour combo and thought the Color Throwdown challenge HERE looked fun, so gave it a whirl too!

swatch485

Plus to mix it up a little and as 3 is my favourite number I decided to join in on the AAA cards challenge fun HERE too, which is to use 1/3 of your card.

#111

With all that I managed to keep it all clean & simple! I used Altenew Rouge ink as my closest match to a peach colour, applied it through my Fun Flowers Stencil which I kept to the lower third of my one layer card. Then added the Simply Said Blocks happy birthday sentiment.

UnikoOLstencil1a

Ok, that’s all from me today. I think it’ll be another early night for this mummy after the Spring forward with the clocks and a poorly bean, it could be a night of little sleep, fingers crossed it isn’t! Until later in the week, thanks for stopping by today :)

Design Team Inspiration – Stencil Sunday!

Hey!

Today I am welcoming back Sarah G from Funky Fossil Designs back to the Uniko Design Team and family!

Sarah decided to step down from the DT a while back, but after introducing the NEW Uniko Stencils, I managed to persuade her to jump back on board to focus on and promote them specifically a little bit more – yay!

Sarah is over on the Uniko blogspot blog HERE with a some Design Team Inspiration, appropriately named Stencil Sunday. Below is a little peek at one of the projects Sarah is sharing, but be sure to head on over and see the full post, leave some love and be totally inspired to get your stencils out!

Doodle Flower Mix!

Whooohoo for Friday!

The first working week of the New Year is nearly over and The Beans return to nursery on Monday. Not that I haven’t enjoyed having them home and taking them out places, but it has cost a small fortune to keep them entertained and they like routine 😉

I seem to be able to make a card and blog every other day so far this year, wondering if I can keep it up! Todays card is one that I have wanted to make since the December Release, when I introduced the new Stencil Doodle Flower. I wanted to show an example of how it could be combined with the previously released Background Blocks: Doodle Flower.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1

The new sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! HERE and seen below seemed to be the perfect fit for using the stencil and 3 of the doodle flowers from the Background Blocks: Doodle Flower.

CTS_253

I started by using the lower section of the 6″ x 6″ Doodle Flower Stencil and applying Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers. I then stamped the Background Blocks: Doodle Flower and fussy cut 3 of the flowers before colouring them with Prismacolor pencils.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1b

The sentiment is from the December Release Freebie, So Much. There are still a few of these freebies left, which are added to qualifying orders of £20 or more before postage costs and after any discounts have been applied!

DoodleFlowerThankyou1a

The fussy cut flowers are adhered to the one layer card using double sided tape and I added a Stampin’ Up! enamel heart and dots to the centres for a little added interest.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1c

That’s all I have to share for today, but I hope I have inspired you a little?! If you want some more inspiration using the Doodle Flower Stencil, be sure to head on over to DT Member Rahmat’s blog HERE and HERE. Rahmat has been having fun with the December Release goodies now she has her hands on them!!

Thanks for stopping by today :)

DoodleFlower2
First up is a card using the Doodle Flower stencil and my first attempt at using Glitter Paste! I’ve used Imagination Crafts Old Rose Sparkle Medium. It was fairly easy to use, but still think I need a little more practice!
DoodleFlower2a
Next is another card using the Lattice stencil…
Lattice2
On this card I created a rectangle negative mask and stencilled the lattice design inside. I used Broken China Distress Oxide ink. The card is then embellished with a floral bouquet and sentiment from the December Release FREEBIE, more about this on Friday!
