Introducing… Background Builders Hearts

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome back to day 3 of the June 2022 Release product introductions. There is no mid week hump day as today we are bringing you all the love with the next addition to the Background Builders series, Background Builders Hearts ♥️

Like the previously released geometric background builders, this set contains both single image stamps and building strip stamps. This is perfect for all those love occasions from Valentine’s to anniversaries, to weddings and those times when you just want to tell someone you are sending them love.

And how appropriate to release this stamp set during Pride month, which inspired my cards today…

I couldn’t resist stamping a rainbow of texture hearts along the edge of my card. The size of these hearts is the same as the ones in the previously released BIG & BOLD Love, which I have used to stamp the smaller solid and outline hearts.

For the LOVE U heart I used sentiments from Festive Sentiments Outlined stamped inside another of the hearts from this new background building set. I finished the card off with some glossy Nuvo Drops and some enamel hearts from my stash.

For my second card to day I went super CAS. This time pairing another of the individual hearts with the LVE from Alphabet Outlined. As you can see I used a fine liner to fill in the outlined letters and alcohol markers to colour the heart.

That’s all from me today. I do hope you will stop back tomorrow for the last of the product introductions.

Introducing… Background Builders Winter Wonderland

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I am so glad you have popped by today as it is the first of the September / October 2021 Release product introductions. Today myself and my awesome Brand Ambassadors have an inspiring blog hop and we are introducing Background Builders: Winter Wonderland.

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, the start of the hop and you will find all the links to the Brand Ambassador blogs.

Here is what I’ve created using this new stamp set…

For my first card using this set I wanted to create a wintery night time scene. I started with a circle stencil mask I created from copy paper. I then ink blended Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire with a little Black Soot around the top edges.

I then stamped the winter stag & tree image in black and the snowfall image in white. I added a few more snow drops using a white gel pen. The sentiment is from another new set we will be introducing this week. I finished the card off with a trio of tiny snowflakes from the Winter Wonderland set and added some gems.

For my second card today I went clean and simple with a modern and non traditional colour way. Spot my mistake of a back to front rainbow!

For this card I created template to cut the sentiment mat layer with a matching curve. I then followed the curve of the scene stamp to place and selectively stamp the sentiment.

I added the snowflake detail stamp to the top in a light grey ink to finish the card off.

Lastly today I went with a rustic Scandi feel and created an all over pattern using 3 of the 4 building stamps.

I added all 3 stamps to a large block, inked and stamped with VersaMark so that I could emboss with WOW! Opaque Bright White EP. I foam mounted the panel onto a matching Kraft card base.

A fairly quick and mass produceable design.

That’s all from me today, be sure to pop back tomorrow for the next of the product introductions.

Merry Monday & Winners

Hey!

I’m alive, kicking and back in the studio this week, after what seems forever in recovering from the flu and sinusitis – ugh! It’s been a rough few weeks, but I think my mojo has returned along with my (almost) good health – yay!

I usually have my Merry Monday post over on the Uniko blogspot blog, but I am also here to tell you about the newest Uniko Challenge which started on Friday HERE.

I am *so* behind on my Christmas card making with being ill and I have *so* many Uniko stamps that I have not used in such a long time, including Background Builders: Christmas 2018.

This clear stamp set features a fun outline Christmas Tree building stamp and when I saw the current sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below, I was inspired to use it to follow the sketch.

I selected a trio of Comic Markers to colour the trees and then added some much need clear Wink of Stella sparkle and some teeny tiny Nuvo Drops to represent Christmas lights. My sentiment choice is from the popular Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

Okay, how about some LONG awaited winners?!

Firstly I have the winner of the Uniko October 2019 Post Release Blog Hop HERE. Random.org has helped me select the lucky comment left along the hop and the winner is…

Stamp Set Focus – Background Builders Classics

Hey!

I had planned on writing this blog post last night, but the motherhood exhaustion hit post Bean bedtime and I just chilled instead – sorry!

Anyway, this is one of those types of post that I keep meaning to do more of and then life/other work gets in the way. I had also envisioned I would use more of the stamps from the clear stamp set I am focusing on, but I kinda got hooked on just one of the stamps! Please tell me it’s not just me that has these problems 😉

For my first ‘Stamp Set Focus’, I wanted to use the recently released Background Builders Classics. I felt it needed a little more inky love.

For my first two cards I used the same layout (inspired by Jane’s Uniko DT post HERE). I used the horizontal stripe stamp from the set more as an accent, rather than to build a background too.

StampFocusBBClassics1

For this first card I dusted off some older clear stamp sets. The large bold HAPPY is from All Occasion Sentiments #2 and it is so much fun to stamp it in a rainbow of colours! The flowers are from Flower Power #7 and the smaller script birthday is from Simply Said Birthday. I added a few Nuvo Drops to finish of my design.

StampFocusBBClassics1a

As I still had the horizontal stripe stamp positioned in my MISTI, I stamped up another to create my next card. This time combining it with a sentiment from the recently released Sentiments Outlined and accented with some blooms from Beautiful Blooms II.

StampFocusBBClassics2

I love how quick this card was to make, just a little bit of simple stamping and masking for the blooms and a little dimension for the stamped panel.

StampFocusBBClassics2a

Next I switched up the orientation of my card and used another of my favourite techniques and paired the stamp with some other ‘older’ Uniko stamps.

StampFocusBBClassics3

Using a stamping tool means your stamp is always in the same place for repeated stamping. This is handy for this technique, where I have used water  based markers to colour my stamp. I have done this technique quite a few times, like HERE.

StampFocusBBClassics3a

I used Stampin’ Up! markers in Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Costal Cabana for a lovely tropical palette to go with images from Paradise and Paradise Leaves.

Lastly, I wanted to ‘build’ a background and this is the result…

StampFocusBBClassics4

Having created a bold background I wanted to showcase it in a way not to take too much focus from it and it also needed a pop of colour.

StampFocusBBClassics4a

I used Stampin’ Up! dies to create the HAPPY, which I die cut each letter 3 times and adhered them together with glue. I wanted them to have some dimension but not too much to make the card bulky. Again I used the partially stamped sentiment, script birthday from Simply Said Birthday.

I hope I have inspired you a little and given you some new ideas and techniques to try out. I sure had fun using this one stamp!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs

July 2019 Reveal, Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

What an awesome week with so much creative inspiration. I hope you have all enjoyed it as much as me and now finally the day has arrived and the July 2019 Reveal, Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY is here! The Release will be available to purchase HERE at a NEW time of 9pm GMT tonight.

Hopefully you have started over HERE on the Uniko blogspot blog for the reveal of all the July 2019 Release products and then you have hopped on over from our fabulous Guest Designer this month Keren’s blog HERE. Haven’t Keren’s creations been amazing, with so many creative ideas and techniques. I for one have been inspired.

Okay, so I’m a little late (again) with my post today. I found working in the heat *so* hard yesterday and it just drained me off everything. Anyway, I managed to finish up my cards this morning and now I have them ready to share with you. Hopefully they won’t disappoint!

I’ve been on a rainbow kick recently and I had to apply it to the Background Blocks Nautical Stripes. I also wanted to show you how the background block can be used for other occasions, not just nautical styles.

July19release1

I positioned the background block into my small MISTI, masking, inking and stamping each of the colours. It was a fairly lengthy process to apply each individual colour, but the result is so pretty. I used Altenew inks for the colours and I used the Lawn Fawn stamp shammy to clean the stamp between colours without removing it from my MISTI.

July19release1a

I added the ‘Have a Perfect Day’ sentiment from Sentiments Outlined and a tropical cluster of images from Paradise. To finish the design and add a little sparkle, I applied White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to the inside of the sentiment.

Still on my rainbow kick I used some of the same colours and my TE Blender Brushes to create an ink blended background for the Large Background Tropical Paradise…

July19release2

I absolutely love how this turned out! The colours really make the tropical background pop. I didn’t want to take too much focus from the colours and the background, so I added a simple sentiment of ‘Celebrate’ which is partially stamped from Sentiments Outlined. It really makes you feel as though you are getting value for money when you can easily change up sentiments with ease.

July19release2a

Lastly for today I have one more card that had been whirling around my head! I had intended it to be rainbow colours too, but a more muted colour scheme happened instead!

July19release3

I thought the ‘Celebrate In Style’ sentiment would be perfect to pair with Background Blocks Mid Century Modern and I was right, it looks so cool!

July19release3a

I stamped the sentiment first and then filled in the space around with the background block. With its open style, it is fairly easy to position and stamp to achieve the look of an all over pattern. I used Altenew Cloudy Night for the pattern and added Stampin’ Up! Balmy Blue for the card base & inside the sentiment. Some Altenew enamel dots were the perfect shade of blue to add to some of the dots in the design.

Okay, that’s all from me today, but as usual we have our traditional Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway. To be in the chance of winning The ENTIRE July 2019 Release! (5 clear stamp sets, 1 previously released clear stamp sets and 5 stencil designs).

Simply comment along the blog hop, it’s as easy as that! You have until Midnight 3rd August 2019. Winner will be announced a few days after.

Happy Hopping!

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Uniko Day 8!

Hey!

I’m super happy you’ve popped by today as here at Uniko we are super excited to be part of a wonderful festive event…

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

This is the 8th year the lovely and creative Tracey McNeely  from In My Creative Opinion has organised this fun and festive event to spread Christmas Cheer.

Uniko are honoured to be one of the 26 sponsors of the event and to be taking part 🙂

Sponsors 2018

Myself and the some of the Uniko Design Team have got our festive on and created some Christmas Tags to share with you, so let’s get to the inspiration!

Uniko25DaysChristmasTags

I wanted to go ‘Classic Christmas’ with a modern look, so I decided upon a holly theme for my tag duo 🙂

For my first tag on the right I wanted to use Background Builders: Christmas 2018 and a Lawn Fawn ‘joy’ die I have had for over a year now, but not used 🙁

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8a

I started by stamping the stripes from Background Builders: Christmas 2018 in Altenew Industrial Diamond ink. The joy is die cut 5 times from Stampin’ Up! Real Red card and layered to give it dimension. I also added some fine glitter using a glue pen. The holly sprig is from Winter Foliage and the Christmas sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8b

I used some Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow Satin Ribbon and some Stampin’ Up! Basic Grey Bakers Twine for the bow. The tag shape is also from Papertrey Ink.

Next I decided to use Background Builders: Christmas and my favourite 2 step holly background stamps to create an all over background on my tag.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8c

I used Altenew Moss & Ruby Red inks to stamp the holly background and this time I added a vellum overlay tag, which I added a sentiment from Jolly Christmas & Simply Said II, with some more holly from Winter Foliage to accent it.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8d

Again the ribbon is from Papertrey Ink & this time it is Simply Chartreuse and the Bakers Twine is Cherry Cobbler from Stampin’ Up! The tag shape is Clearly Besotted.

I hope I have inspired you to join in on this fun event and I would love to see someone inspired by a Uniko tag in the gallery!

How about some more festive inspiration from the Uniko Design Team. Be sure to stop by their blogs (links below) and leave some love!

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Day 1 Inspired

Hey!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend? And those in the UK have had a warm and safe Bonfire Night.

We’ve just got back from taking The Beans to the fireworks show at the riverside in town. When we told them tonight that it was time to get ready, they both rushed to get their Disney Magic Bands. They thought we were going to The Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks there!!  Oh how I wish we were still in Florida 😉

Anyway, today I have a tag to share. I thought it was about time I  got myself organised and actually join in on Tracey McNeeley’s 25 Days Of Christmas Tags event AND not just as a sponsor!

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Yep, you read that right, Uniko is one of the 26 sponsors of the 8th 25 Days Of Christmas Tags – YAY! Below is a graphic showing all of the wonderful sponsors of this event…

Sponsors 2018

So I am joining in on the fun and made this tag to share…

25DaysChristmasTags1

My inspiration for this tag came from Jo Nevill’s tag HERE on Day 1 of the event. As soon as I saw Jo’s card I instantly thought of the NEW Background Builders: Christmas 2018 clear stamp set. Plus I do love this colour combo red, kraft and white.

25DaysOfChristmasTags1a

Along with using Background Builders: Christmas 2018 on the kraft die cut tag (Papertrey Ink), I used the smallest snowflake die from the Designer Die Snowflake Trio, the solid flower stamped in red is from Flower Power #1 and the sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

25DaysOfChristmasTags1b

It’s hard to see in the photo, but I added clear Wink of Stella to the snowflake for a little bit of sparkle. The 3 black dots in the flower centre were added using a fine liner to make the flower resemble a poinsettia.

That’s all I have to share with you today, but I hope to be back tomorrow with more and I hope I have inspired you a little to join in on this fun event?!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Hugs

Christmas Folk Snowflake

Wow!

What a busy few days here at Uniko HQ, you guys have kept me out of mischief with all your lovely release day orders. I am so happy to see so many new, returning and loyal customers and I am glad that you love the products I have designed.

THANK YOU for keeping my little business and dream alive 🙂

Today I thought I would share a card I have managed to make this afternoon in-between the chaos of family time at home this weekend.

When I design new products, one of the elements I like to try and incorporate is how products can be mixed, matched and work together. And this is what I have done with one of the background stamps from Background Builders: Christmas 2018 and the Stencil – Christmas Folk Snowflake.

ChristmasFolkSnowflake

The main image of the snowflake both in the stamp set and the stencil are the same. It is just the smaller details I have added to make the designs different. So they work together beautifully, but not overly repeating the image too much.

ChristmasFolkSnowflake1

For this card I used Altenew Ruby Red ink to stamp the Christmas Folk Snowflake across the top and bottom of my base card. I then trimmed a piece of white card to 10 x 10.5 cm for my focal image and masked off one Christmas Folk Snowflake on the stencil. I used the same colour ink to ink through the stencil.

The sentiment is a combination of Simply Said II and Most Wonderful. And to finish the card off I used some Stampin’ Up! Real Red card to mat the focal layer, adhering it to the base card using foam adhesive. Some White Blizzard Glitter Nuvo drops finished the centres of the snowflakes perfectly.

I hope I have inspired you a little and to look at your Uniko products you have or other manufacturers and see how they can be used together.

Thanks for stopping by today 🙂

Introducing… BIG & BOLD Merry and Background Builders: Christmas 2018

Hey!

Welcome back to day 4 of the October 2018 Release product introductions.
This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days 🙂

Thank you for all the comment love yesterday here and on social media. If you missed the first 3 days of introductions, you can catch up HERE, HERE and HERE.

Today we are introducing the final two clear stamp sets, BIG & BOLD Merry and Background Builders: Christmas 2018.
IntroBBchristmas2018a
This card was totally inspired by one the lovely Keren Baker shared on Instagram HERE. I loved how Keren had weaved the paper strips and so I wanted to recreate this with stamps. One of the stamps in Background Builders: Christmas 2018 is a line of small diagonal lines. Which when stamped & overlapped, it creates a plaid style effect.
IntroBBchristmas2018bThe sentiment is from the new Simply Said Blocks Christmas and I added in the holly leaves from Winter Foliage. I used Nuvo Drops to create the holly berries.
As usual my AWESOME Design Team have created projects to share with you all too. Be sure to hop along, commenting along the way. You never know, I might just pick some random comments to WIN some prizes this release 😉

Sarah P

WOW! This has been a fun few days of product introductions and I for one have loved seeing how my Design Team bring the products to life. So, we have reached the end of the product introductions, which means tomorrow is the BIG day!

We will have our usual Reveal, Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY at 9am tomorrow here on the blog AND the RELEASE will go LIVE at 9pm GMT over HERE on the website.

Hugs

Re-Introducing… Background Builders: Christmas AND Jolly Christmas

Hey!

Welcome to the first day of the October 2018 Release product introductions.
This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days 🙂
Today we are re-introducing Background Builders: Christmas AND Jolly Christmas clear stamp sets. These two clear stamp sets were first introduced WAY back in October 2013 HERE and HERE. You can also find more ‘old’ inspiration using the clear stamps HERE and HERE on Pinterest.

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE at the start of the hop. I have shared a couple of new cards there using these 2 re-released clear stamp sets.

I’ve made a couple more cards to hopefully inspire you…

IntroBBChristmas2

Firstly I wanted to pair the snowflake builder stamp with the Designer Dies Snowflake Trio. I tried my hand at some partial die cutting too!

IntroBBChristmas2a

After stamping the snowflake background I added tiny drops of Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard to all the snowflake centres for a little bit of subtle sparkle. The sentiment is a new one from another clear stamp set we will be introducing later this week. The pearls are from Little Things By Lucy’s Crystal Collection – Sweet Pea.

IntroBBChristmas2b

I was having so much fun getting reacquainted with Background Builders: Christmas, that I used it for my second card to share with you today too!

IntroBBChristmas3

Even though I absolutely LOVE snowflakes, I think the 2 step stamp holly in this set trumps the snowflakes! It is beautifully festive and pairs with other Uniko clear stamps, such as this sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #4.

IntroBBChristmas3a

After a busy few weeks I was feeling a little tired and ‘meh’ so I treated myself to some more Altenew inks and this little ‘Lil Inker Bow Die. It is too darn cute and pairing it with some old Papertrey Ink polka dot paper was the perfect finish to this clean and simple card.

As usual my AWESOME Design Team have created projects to share with you all too. Be sure to hop along, commenting along the way. You never know, I might just pick some random comments to WIN some prizes this release 😉

I hope you enjoyed the hop & will come back tomorrow for the next product introductions!

Hugs
