June 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!! For those of you who are new around these parts I will explain what this post is all about…

Here at Uniko HQ it is just myself behind the screen, blogging, designing, packaging stamps & orders through the Uniko online shop, customer service and all the things in between. I *usually* release new product every other month for a number of reasons, but mainly so I can keep up with everything!

On non – release months like this month I like to set myself and the Design Team a challenge to look back at a previously released product and give it some more love.

Usually I choose just one product that was released the previous year or a once favourite that hasn’t seen much air time. However, this time I couldn’t choose between the clear stamps in the Beautiful Blooms range, so I challenged the Uniko DT to use all 3 OR their favourite!

Beautiful Blooms I Clear Stamp Set

Beautiful Blooms I Designer Dies

Beautiful Blooms I can be bought as a clear stamp set and designer die bundle HERE.

Beautiful Blooms II

Beautiful Blooms III

My thinking / reasoning of designing the Beautiful Blooms series was to have some modern blooms that didn’t necessarily reflect a particular flower. They are open for interpretation as to what YOU the stamper believes the flower to represent. I feel this allows for more creativity and individuality to stampers projects.

Now I had to be fair, so I made one card using each of the clear stamps…

First up is Beautiful Blooms I and I decided to use both the clear stamps and matching designer dies. My card is heavily inspired by some of  Jennifer McGuire’s recent makes.

UJuneBH1a

I started by die cutting the largest bloom, largest stem and 2 small leaves from a piece of white card. I then temporarily adhered it to my card base whilst I stamped the coordinating images to the die cuts. I used my MISTI tool to stamp too.

UJuneBH1b

I used Altenew inks to stamp and the sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks II. Once I had completed all my stamping the die cut panel was adhered using foam adhesive.

Next, I decided to have a play with Beautiful Blooms II and created a super CAS card…

UJuneBH2

I started by stamping the outline blooms in Altenew inks, then I ‘off stamped’ the bloom centre details before stamping inside the outline, as I wanted a fairly light shade to the blooms. I then used Lawn Fawn rectangle dies to die cut the layer before adding my sentiment from Just Because. The pane is adhered to a Stampin’ Up! Grey Granite card base using foam adhesive.

UJuneBH2a

Lastly, I dusted off Beautiful Blooms III to create a similar style card to my CC&S card last week HERE.

UJuneBH3

I used my MISTI tool again for this card, because there is quite a bit of masking and layering of stamps. I used Altenew inks again, as they really do take the hard work out of choosing colours to layer! I tried to show a few of the different layering options with the blooms on this card too.

UJuneBH3a
That’s all from me, but lets see how the design team have been inspired to use the products and be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win your choice from the 3 clear stamp sets being featured. You have until Midnight (GMT) Monday 18th June 2018 to comment.

Uniko Challenge #47 – Photo Inspiration & Optional Twist Birthday

Hey!

Welcome to the May/June, 2018 Uniko challenge.

This month we have a beautiful photo that we hope will inspire you to play along. Lots of ways to be inspired by the photo – the colours, the flowers, the grasses, the gorgeous vase or maybe the suitcase will give you a vacation vibe. Any way this photo talks to you is ok by us, but if you’d like an extra challenge then play along with our super simple twist of BIRTHDAY.

As you’ve probably noticed the Uniko DT has grown this year with the addition of four talented ladies onto our Stencil Team. So of course there’s going to be even more DT inspiration to get your creativity flowing and we also have the most wonderful Guest Designer – Sue – joining in with us for this challenge.

Her winning card from the last challenge really caught our eye here at Uniko and if you go visit her blog you’ll find oodles more fabulous inspiration.

Guest Designer – Sue

Loving her use of Uniko goodies on this deliciously pretty card.
And here is what I came up with to hopefully inspire you…
USC#47
I was particularly inspired by the flower blooms in the vase and wanted to give Flower Power #8 from the May 2018 Release a little more inky love. I used a recent purchase of the Altenew Tea Party ink collection to stamp the trio of flowers. I then fussy cut the blooms out and adhered them to a die cut panel using double sided and foam adhesive. The die I used is the Pretty Pink Posh Scalloped Borders 1 collection.
USC#47b
I also stamped the individual leaves from Flower Power #8 to create a duo of leave and again fussy cut them out. The sentiment is from Birthday Sentiments & I added some Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Drops to embellish the flowers and panel.
USC#47a
I was also inspired by the pattern on the pretty suitcase, so I replicated the idea using the Stylised Floral Stencil, also from the May 2018 Release. I used Crushed Olive Distress Ink. The layout of my card is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.
FMS Final 337-001
That’s all from me today, but the Uniko Design team also have some inspiring card ideas to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too 😉

Introducing… Designer Dies Originally Organic Additions Collection

Hey & My Apologies For My Lateness!

Welcome to day 6 of the May 2018 Release product introductions!

I am super excited about today as the product we are introducing is some NEW matching Designer Dies to a previously released and popular Uniko clear stamp set. I love matching dies, they provide so many more techniques and ways to stretch your stamps.

OK, so let’s see these dies and the clear stamp set they match…

So many fun possibilities with these dies and clear stamp set now 😉 And one of my favourite cards to make is shaker cards!

Hopefully you have hopped along with the design team and seen the shaker card I shared HERE yesterday. Thank you for all your lovely comments too. I would just like to give a shout out to Sarah P, as it was Sarah who suggested a separate die for the inside and outside of the heart wreath :)

Ok, so I have one more card which (hopefully) shows the delicacy of the heart wreath when cut with both the inside and outside dies…

IntroOOADD2

I adhered the wreath using glue, so it was flat to my black card base. I then die cut and stamped some colourful flowers adhering them with foam adhesive. The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks II and the enamel dots are Stampin’ Up!

IntroOOADD2a

That’s all I have to share here, but there is plenty of inspiration from our Guest Designer & Design Team.

Introducing… Flower Power #8

Hey!

Welcome to day 5 of the May 2018 Release product introductions!

Today we are introducing the next clear stamp set in the Flower Power series. It’s been an age since I added to this series and when I stumbled upon another floral in my archive of designs it seemed perfect to add to the Flower Powers :)

Hopefully you have hopped on over from our AMAZING Guest Designer Anna’s blog. If not, be sure to have a look at Anna’s colourful and cheerful scrapbook layout HERE.

I’ve one more card to share today using this clear stamp set…

IntroFP#82

I’ve been seeing Lime Green with Black & White a lot recently and I thought it would be fun to use the colour combo for my card.

IntroFP#82a

I’ve also been seeing a lot of partial stencilled backgrounds behind images, so I thought I would try my hand at it! I used the Scattered Polka Dot stencil and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. I still need a little practice with my faded blending technique, but I was pleased with the results.

Ok, that is all I’ve had time to make so far using this set :( So many ideas, not enough time! Luckily I have a FAB design team who’ve made amazing projects to share with you. Be sure to hop on round and leave some LOVE.

GIVEAWAY ALERT! As this is a Kindness themed clear stamp set, I will be giving one away to one lucky commenter!

Introducing… Just Because & Large French Script Background Clear Stamps

Hey & Happy Monday!

Welcome to back to day three of the May 2018 Release product introductions. What a BEEautiful showcase of inspiration HERE on the blog hop yesterday. I sure do LOVE seeing how the Design Team are inspired to use the new products. They were certainly busy bees too with all that they created!

Today we are introducing 2 more products. Just Because Clear Stamp Set and Large French Background Clear Stamp and I have created a couple more cards using the Just Because set to inspire you…

IntroJustBec1

I decided to make another rainbow inspired card, they really do make me happy! This time I went for a one layer card too. I simply stamped the silhouette from Just Because in a rainbow of Altenew ink colours. I started with the Olive Green and ended with the Puffy Heart. The sentiment is just one of the options contained in the set.
IntroJustBec1a
With clean and simple on the go I whipped up this next super CAS and mass produceable card…

IntroJustBec2

I used both my medium and small MISTI tools to stamp this card. I had the silhouette stamp in one and the sentiment in the other. I recently purchased a new set of Altenew inks from Seven Hills Crafts HERE and I just can’t seem to stop using the Aqualicious colour 😉 I’ve paired it with some Stampin’ Up! Berry Burst card stock for my card base.

IntroJustBec2a

Unfortunately that’s all I had time to create :( I was having so much fun but time to create slipped away. I hope to share more using this set on release day & we will also being having a Release in Review week starting Monday 21st May :)

Anyway, I know the Design Team have created SO much more to inspire you, so hop on round and leave some love!

May 2018 Release Sneak Peeks Day 2

Welcome Back!

Yesterday saw the start of the countdown to May 2018 Release! It is also countdown to Happy Stampers Festival and May is my birthday month, so I am going to be having a few giveaways around Social Media to celebrate!

Today I am sharing a couple more sneak peeks at the new products being released on the 12th May…

Who doesn’t love a silhouette and a floral one? Silhouettes have been around in the paper crafting and stamping world, probably from the get go! However, there seems to be a revival of this trend and I thought I’d put a little of my style out there too 😉

Next, I have a fun new background sneak peek.

That’s all the sneak peeks that I have to share with you all today! I do hope you have enjoyed the peeks and I’d love to know what you like the look of so far :)

One Layer Stencil Fun!

Hey & Happy Monday!

I do hope your week has begun well? Mine started well, but then took an unplanned turn when Bean no.2 came out in the chicken pox spots. Second time round and it still surprised me as to how suddenly and quickly they begin to appear from nowhere! Luckily my in laws are back from their holiday this week and were able to help look after him while I took Bean no.1 to nursery. It still meant little time for work and what not, but it meant that we were not all stuck inside again.

I am happy that yesterday I managed to make a couple of cards, the first of which I am sharing today…

UnikoOLstencil1

I still had my Fun Flowers Stencil out on my desk from when I made my cards for the Uniko March 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway HERE. And I had been wanting to join in on the current “Less is More” one layer challenge HERE, which is to use stencils, perfect combo!

367 Stencils

I needed a little more of a mojo boost and mooched around my ‘go to’ challenges for a colour combo and thought the Color Throwdown challenge HERE looked fun, so gave it a whirl too!

swatch485

Plus to mix it up a little and as 3 is my favourite number I decided to join in on the AAA cards challenge fun HERE too, which is to use 1/3 of your card.

#111

With all that I managed to keep it all clean & simple! I used Altenew Rouge ink as my closest match to a peach colour, applied it through my Fun Flowers Stencil which I kept to the lower third of my one layer card. Then added the Simply Said Blocks happy birthday sentiment.

UnikoOLstencil1a

Ok, that’s all from me today. I think it’ll be another early night for this mummy after the Spring forward with the clocks and a poorly bean, it could be a night of little sleep, fingers crossed it isn’t! Until later in the week, thanks for stopping by today :)

Uniko Challenge #46 Colour & Optional Twist Easter

Hey!

Welcome to the March/April, 2018 Uniko challenge. This month we have a really pretty palette of colours for you to choose from and with Easter looming that’s our optional twist.

As you’ve probably noticed the Uniko DT has grown this year with the addition of four talented ladies onto our Stencil Team. So of course there’s going to be even more DT inspiration to get your creativity flowing and we also have the most wonderful Guest Designer – Michele – joining in with us for this challenge.

Her winning card from the last challenge had us all swooning here at Uniko and if you go take a peek at her blog you’ll discover loads more innovative ideas that are just that little bit different.

Guest Designer – Michele

Isn’t this the most amazingly creative use of Uniko stamps and dies?! Do go visit her blog – HERE – and tell her how gorgeous this is!

Here’s how I decided to use the colours…

USC#46

Firstly, my apologies to those that attended the Uniko Birthday Stamping Retreat as you have already seen this card! I was hoping to have made something new and an Easter card to share using the challenge colours, but due to the unforeseen happenings of Josh Bean getting the Chicken Pox on Tuesday, my week has got to pot. Yesterday I played catch up. Well, to some degree, as I spent the morning catching up on sleep due to being up all night nursing a sick bean :(

USC#46a

Luckily I had this card in my archive to share and amazingly I had used most of the challenge colours! Again I have used Kindness Blooms, still a firm ‘go to’ fave at the moment and there are still a few left in stock since the restock this week! I’ve paired the loopy blooms with a sentiment from Birthday Sentiments, added enamel embellishments and adhered the stamped panel using foam adhesive.

USC#46b

That’s all I have to share with you for today, but the Uniko Design team also have some inspiring card ideas to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too 😉

The eagle eyed of you will have noticed that this is only half of the Uniko DT, but never fear the other half will be here with ideas to inspire you on 30th March with the reminder post.

So are you ready to play along?

Well, just in case you need some more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes.

Uniko’s 6th Birthday & February 2018 Reveal, Release, Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Woohoo!

Apologies for my lateness to the Release Day Party :( It’s been a crazy few days here in the NE of the UK as we have been battered by the worst snow storms in years, plus life goes on with 2 snow Beans too! Luckily today I’ve still managed to have them looked after by the in-laws – yay!

Anyway, the day arrived and Uniko’s 6th Birthday & February 2018 Release is NOW available to purchase HERE on the website. We have our traditional Reveal, Release, Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY starting over HERE.

Along with the SIX new clear stamp sets and FIVE new stencil designs I am also offering…

WINNERS of the Birthday Treasure Hunt, Random Prizes & more have been announced HERE.

How about some inspiration using a few of the new products…

FebRD1
It probably isn’t a surprise to anyone that has been following the release celebrations that the new Kindness Blooms clear stamp set is a new favourite of mine 😉 The ideas using this new loopy bloom have been free flowing!
For this first card I decided to pair both sizes of the loopy bloom with the Large Background Scattered Polka Dots, which I have stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed in detail white embossing powder.
FebRD1b
The sentiment is just one of the mix and match possibilities contained in the mini clear stamp set and I have stamped it onto a strip of white card and adhered it to the card base using foam adhesive. I’ve finished the design off with some new Stampin’ Up! self adhesive sequins.
FebRD1a
For my next card I decided to create a more masculine style card using Kindness Blooms paired with the new Birthday Sentiments clear stamp set…
FebRd2
As you can see I used the stamen burst stamp and the small polka dot from Kindness Blooms and simply by using primary colours and keeping the design CAS I have achieved a masculine look.
FebRD2a
I wish I had more to share using the other new products being released, but creative time has been limited :( I will be sharing more over the coming days though using all of the new products.
However, I know that the Design Team have been super busy and much more creative than me and have a wealth of inspiration using all of the new products to share with you!

Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win the ENTIRE Release!! You have until Midnight (GMT) Saturday 10th March 2018 to comment and the winner will be announced Sunday 11th March 2018.

Happy Hopping!

Introducing… Spring Botanicals Daffodil

Hey!

Welcome back to day two of the product introductions. This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

WOW! Wasn’t yesterday FUN?! If you missed the product introduction and blog hop, you can catch up HERE.

Today myself and the Design Team are introducing the next flower in the Spring Botanical series, Spring Botanicals Daffodil.
How about a look at this clear stamp set in action…
IntroDaff1
I’ve gone super clean and simple for my first card as I wanted the Spring yellows and greens to shine against the crisp white background.
IntroDaff1a
I’ve used my trusty Prismacolor pencils to colour the daffodil, which I fussy cut out and adhered to the card base using foam adhesive. The sentiment is just one from the clear stamp set and I added some simple glittered enamel dot embellishments to finish.
Lastly I went super quick creative due to minimal time to create these days…
IntroDaff2
I started with a large stamp block, big enough to cover my card size (10.5 x 14 cm) and I roughly coloured over it with 2 Zig Clean Color Brush Pens. I then heavily spritzed with water and then stamped it onto some smooth watercolour card stock.
IntroDaff2a
Once my panel was dry, I simply stamped the Daffodil in VersaFine Onyx Black ink, added another of the sentiments from the clear stamp set, which has a couple of mix and match options and embellished with some clear sequins.
That’s all I have to share with you using this clear stamp set, but we have our usual design team blog hop too! It’s a hop full of wonderful inspiration and techniques, I can’t wait to read how they’ve created all their samples! So get comfy, grab a drink and be sure to hop around all the Design Team blogs for a TON of inspiration and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!
