“Less is More” Birthday Challenge Guest Designer

Hello & Happy Weekend!

I am here bright and early this morning to tell you that Uniko is super happy and proud to be sponsoring “Less is More” again. This month they are also celebrating their 8th Birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY “Less is More”!

cue card 8th birthday

This fortnight the theme is…

388 Colour Navy Yellow

As you may be aware, February is also Uniko’s Birthday month and we have an upcoming release (Feb 11th) too! I’ve had my hands on the release goodies for a few weeks now and I can’t stop playing with them ūüėČ

I couldn’t resist using one of the NEW products on my card…

UnikoLIMguest

This is a HUGE peek at a NEW clear stamp set & coordinating Designer Die collection, that we will officially be introducing on 6th February & will be available to purchase on 11th February 9pm GMT.

UnikoLIMguest1

Those who know Uniko products well, will know that this is the next in the BIG & BOLD series, BIG & BOLD Happy! Honestly, you won’t believe the fun I have had with the dies alone ūüėČ

However, on my card today for “Less is More” I have combined both the stamps and just one of the dies in the collection. I used Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy and So Saffron for my colours to match the theme of Navy & Yellow. I thought some nice colour blocking was a good idea and also created a more masculine style card.

Here is one more view…

Okay, that is all from me over here today, BUT be sure to check out a HUGE announcement over HERE at 9am AND be sure to head on over to the “Less is More” blog HERE and join in on the fun.

Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop!

Hey & welcome to the next stop on the…

Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop

I am delighted to be a part of this wonderful hop organised by the lovely Milka Gubo from Crafty Milka. January is Thyroid Awareness Month. 26 designers from all over the World joined together in this special blog hop which will last from January 5th until January 30th.

The aim of the hop is to support Thyroid Awareness Month and to raise public awareness of the importance of a Thyroid Gland and problems it can cause when not working properly.

We will be sharing our handmade projects featuring butterfly, butterflies and/or blue paisley pattern. Thyroid looks like butterfly and blue paisley patterned ribbon is a new symbol of Thyroid Awareness month, so it was our choice to incorporate these elements in our handmade projects.

I felt this was a blog hop I really wanted to be part of for many reasons. Firstly I was a registered nurse for over 10 years. When I moved to the North East of the UK, I began a new path of looking after surgical patients and one of the surgical patients I looked after were those who had had Thyroid Surgery. I won’t go into detail, but they were a high level observation patient post operation, with many complications to look out for.

My second reason for wanting to take part is because a few of my close friends suffer from thyroid problems. This hop is just a small way of raising awareness and showing a little bit of love to those affected by it.

Here is the card I made to share with you all…

ThyroidBH

I decided to incorporate both the Paisley Pattern and the Butterfly elements, using Uniko’s Marvellous Mehndi and English Country Garden Butterflies clear stamps.

ThyroidBHa

The layout of my card is from the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge seen HERE and below. The sketch made it easy for me to combine all the colours and elements – love it when this happens!

I used Altenew inks for my shades of blue a the card stock is the new Stampin’ Up! In Colour Blueberry Bushel. I also used Stampin’ Up! Stitched Framelits dies to die cut the 2 sizes of squares.

ThyroidBHb

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you with my card. Be sure that you catch up on all the blog hop stops (if you haven’t already) that are listed at the end of this post.

Before I go I have a little GIVEAWAY…

Simply leave a comment on this blog post & I will choose a randomly selected winner to receive a ¬£30 Uniko Prize Package! Winner will be announced the 10th February to give you plenty of time to share this giveaway with your crafty friends ūüėČ

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Uniko Day 8!

Hey!

I’m super happy you’ve popped by today as here at Uniko we are super excited to be part of a wonderful festive event…

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

This is the 8th year the lovely and creative Tracey McNeely  from In My Creative Opinion has organised this fun and festive event to spread Christmas Cheer.

Uniko are honoured to be one of the 26 sponsors of the event and to be taking part :)

Sponsors 2018

Myself and the some of the Uniko Design Team have got our festive on and created some Christmas Tags to share with you, so let’s get to the inspiration!

Uniko25DaysChristmasTags

I wanted to go ‘Classic Christmas’ with a modern look, so I decided upon a holly theme for my tag duo :)

For my first tag on the right I wanted to use Background Builders: Christmas 2018 and a Lawn Fawn ‘joy’ die I have had for over a year now, but not used :(

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8a

I started by stamping the stripes from¬†Background Builders: Christmas 2018 in Altenew Industrial Diamond ink. The joy is die cut 5 times from Stampin’ Up! Real Red card and layered to give it dimension. I also added some fine glitter using a glue pen. The holly sprig is from Winter Foliage and the Christmas sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8b

I used some Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow Satin Ribbon and some Stampin’ Up! Basic Grey Bakers Twine for the bow. The tag shape is also from Papertrey Ink.

Next I decided to use Background Builders: Christmas and my favourite 2 step holly background stamps to create an all over background on my tag.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8c

I used Altenew Moss & Ruby Red inks to stamp the holly background and this time I added a vellum overlay tag, which I added a sentiment from Jolly Christmas & Simply Said II, with some more holly from Winter Foliage to accent it.

Uniko25DaysOfChristmasTags8d

Again the ribbon is from Papertrey Ink & this time it is Simply Chartreuse and the Bakers Twine is Cherry Cobbler from Stampin’ Up! The tag shape is Clearly Besotted.

I hope I have inspired you to join in on this fun event and I would love to see someone inspired by a Uniko tag in the gallery!

How about some more festive inspiration from the Uniko Design Team. Be sure to stop by their blogs (links below) and leave some love!

August 2018 Reveal, Release, Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Woohoo!

Finally the day has arrived and the August 2018 Release is NOW available to purchase HERE on the website. We have our traditional Reveal, Release, Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY! Hopefully you have hoped on over from the start of the hop HERE.

I managed to squeeze in a little more creative time in between admin jobs and created a ‘twofer’ using the new Background Builders: Happy Hexagons clear stamp set…

Aug18RD1

First up is this funky design!

I used one of the larger single hexagons to create this background. I didn’t use my stamping tool this time, I just eyeballed it and there is no particular sequence, it is totally random. I then used my Stampin’ Up! markers in bright colours to create the stripes.

Aug18RD1a

I trimmed and adhered the panel to some black card before adhering to my white card base. The ‘hello’ sentiment is from BIG & BOLD Hello, stamped, embossed in white & fussy cut out. I really *need* some dies to match these BIG & BOLD sentiments ūüėČ
Next, I went for another brightly stamped masculine design using the hexagons, but with a softer overall feel to the card…
Augu18RD2
I used my favourite Altenew ink colours to again stamp the larger single hexagons, just by eyeballing it. I layered the panel with some Basic Grey card and added the ‘You Rock’ sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.
Aug18RD2a
The current challenge over at Twofer Card Challenge HERE and seen below is ‘Geometrics’, hence me making a twofer with Background Builders: Happy Hexagons!
Twofer August 2018
Unfortunately, I only had time to finish these two cards :(
I did start making some watercolored cards very late last night, but ran out of energy to finish them, so I will be back tomorrow with those to share :)

I know the Design Team have been much more organised and have prepared lots of wonderful cards to inspire you using the new products, so be sure to hop along their blogs below…

Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win the ENTIRE Release!! You have until Midnight (BST) 2nd  September 2018 to comment and the winner will be announced soon after.

Happy Hopping!

Uniko Sponsors “Less is More”

Hello & Happy Weekend!

I am here bright and early this morning to tell you that Uniko is super happy and proud to be sponsoring “Less is More” again.

34605319_10156823380737841_5105017494033137664_n

As you can see, this week the theme is ‘friendship’ and for my Guest Designer card I thought I would dust off Reach For The Stars and Background Builders: Seeing Stars

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618

I recently had a little Stampin’ Up! splurge as I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of the new and returning colours! One of the colours I couldn’t wait to use was Grey Granite, those who know me, know that I LOVE grey. I think love might be an understatement, lets say obsessed!

Just yesterday I was talking to my husband about painting some rooms in the house and I said I had picked up some paint chips on the way past the DIY store. He knew before he even looked that the majority would be shades of grey – LOL! I love it as a base colour to accessorise with other colours, like I have with my card today…

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618c

I was super happy to see that Altenew Silver Stone ink is a really good match to the Grey Granite card, which I used to stamp my sentiment. The star in the middle from Background Builders: Seeing Stars is stamped in a slightly darker shade, Altenew Industrial Diamond ink. I then used my Prismacolor Pencils in Light & Dark Aquamarine to colour it. The 2 smaller stars are stamped in Altenew Aqualicious and Teal Cave. I finished the stars off with some clear Wink Of Stella too for that subtle sparkle.

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618a

The layout of my card is from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 340-001

I’ve so many friends I could send this card to, so I think I will be replicating this design with other colours & the Grey Granite!

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618b

OK, that’s all from me today, I’ll be spending time with The Beans and hubby today, before a little night out with some of my old nursing friends, celebrating ones retirement. It’ll be nice to catch up with them :)

Anyway, be sure to head on over to the “Less is More” blog here and join in on the fun.

I started by randomly stamping the coffee cup from I LOVE Coffee in VersaFine Onyx Black ink over my base card. I then went in an embellished the coffee cups with the small Uniko flower, stamping them in Altenew Puffy Heart ink. The trio of white card strips are adhered using 1mm foam adhesive and the ‘I Love Coffee’ sentiment is stamped in Altenew Aqualicious ink.

BEE or not to BEE Blog Hop!

Hey!

Welcome to the 2018 BEE or not to BEE Blog Hop!

The purpose of this blog hop is to celebrate World Bee Day, to support bees and to raise public awareness of the importance of bees and apicultural products.

This is an amazing blog hop with 18 amazing prizes to be won from fantastic artists, designers, companies and retail shops.

BonBBH

For your chance to win, hop along blogs of the participating designers and leave comment on each blog hop stop. After commenting, return back to Milka‚Äôsblog and add your nameto Inlinkz, but prior you do, please read Blog Hop details, terms, giveaway rules and privacy policy which are shared in Milka’s¬†blog post¬†below Inlinkz.

Inlinkz closes tomorrow, May 21st2018, 11:00 PM CEST. Winners’ names will be announced on Milka’s blog next day.

Hopefully you have arrived from Barbara Sproatmeyer‘s¬†blog.

In celebration of the hop I’ve made a couple of cards using Uniko’s recently released Bee Happy clear stamp set…

BEE1

I was inspired to create a semi random patten using the honeycomb trio. I stamped it using Altenew Warm Sunshine ink and then infilled some of the honeycombs using the tiny hexagon stamped in Altenew Buttercream ink.¬†I added the ‘Happy Bee Day’ sentiment and a stamped & fussy cut bee flying away.

BEE2

This card layout was inspired by the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below. Just too fun not to join in ūüėČ

CTS_272

My next card is a reminder to ‘Bee Yourself’. I have had so much fun creating stories using this sentiment and the bee image…

BEE3

I used my MISTI tool to space and stamp the bees in trio of lines using VersaFine Black ink. I purposefully left a gap for my colourful bee flying away from them, to represent YOU to BEE yourself.

BEE3a

I hope you have enjoyed my cards today and that I have inspired you too! Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Birka Reinitz.

Thanks for stopping by today & joining in on the fun.

Uniko Sponsors TIME OUT Challenge – Spring with Optional Twist

Hello & Happy Thursday!

I do hope you are having a good week so far? It’s been a mixed week here at Uniko HQ, but with some exciting new products on their way soon all is good!

Anyway, enough with that, Uniko is super duper happy to be sponsoring my very first Design Team challenge, TIME OUT Challenges.

spring

This fortnight the challenge HERE at TIME OUT Challenges is appropriately Spring with an Optional Twist of a One Layer Card. With Spring being so late for many parts of the Northern Hemisphere, there is still plenty of time to send them out!

I decided to use the more recent released Spring Botanicals Daffodil clear stamp set and created this one layer card…

UnikoSponsorsTO{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I started by drawing out a rectangle with a pencil and then going over with a black fine liner, to create a frame for my daffodil. This helps create more interest to a flat one layer card. I then masked the outsides of the rectangle to be able to stamp the daffodil.

UnikoSponsorsTO1a

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I’ve then selected 3 Prismacolor Pencils to match the current Color Throwdown challenge seen HERE and below to colour my daffodil. The sentiment is from Spring Botanicals Snowdrop and is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

I hope you’re inspired to join in on the challenge & I look forward to seeing you in the gallery too! Be sure to check out all the wonderful TIME OUT Challenge Design Team inspiration over HERE, they have used Uniko stamps too :)

Uniko Sponsors AAA Cards – All You Need Is Love

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I do hope you are having a good weekend so far? It’s been a sick one here at Uniko HQ as I currently type my post on my laptop from bed! Urgh, the joys of 3 years olds and the germs they bring home from nursery!

Anyway, enough with that, Uniko is super duper happy to be sponsoring one of my favourite challenges this fortnight, AAA Cards.

#108

This fortnight the challenge HERE at AAA Cards is appropriately All You Need is LOVE, good if you’re like me and haven’t made your significant other a Valentine’s card yet!

But what if you don’t need or send Valentine’s cards? Well, I always remember when I visited Finland with my mum around that time and my mums friend who we stayed with said that they celebrated friendship on Valentine’s Day. I think I have remembered correctly, but it’s a nice idea anyway!

I’ve opted more for a Wedding Day LOVE card…

UnikoAAASponsor1
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I used Pure Florals: Cosmos to stamp inside a die cut heart mask using a trio of Altenew inks. I added a mix and match of sentiments from Simply said II and Simply Said Blocks. I then finished the design off using some enamel shapes.

UnikoAAASponsor1b

I hope you’re inspired to join in on the challenge & I look forward to seeing you in the gallery too!

Until then, thanks for stopping by!
