Festive Friday!

Happy Friday!

Here at Uniko HQ I am finally caught up with the fun and chaos of Happy Stampers Festival! I absolutely LOVE doing the show, but it does bring a lot of extra work pre and post show. Especially when I am prepping for the release of NEW products too 😉

Those lucky enough to be able to come to Happy Stampers got the chance to buy the new products (bar one) and if you caught my Instagram stories on Saturday you will have seen a BIG peek at the products!

If you missed both, fear not, I have a whole bunch of festive cards to share with you today using the New Release, which will be available on the website tomorrow – yay! I’m working my little socks off to have it ready to go for 8 or 9pm BST.

In this release there is three new clear stamp sets, two coordinating designer die collections, a stand alone die which does coordinate with a previously released clear stamp set AND there is one new stencil design.

Oct19Release4

On this first card I have used Season Of Beauty clear stamp set combined with a sentiment from Festive Sentiments Outlined.

Oct19Release4a

Season Of Beauty is a large £16 clear stamp set which features this beautiful modern layering poinsettia styled flower, along with wintery foliage and accents, plus a trio of festive sentiments.

Even though I have ‘themed’ the stamp set to be festive, the style of this flower and the foliage can easily be used all year round in all seasons, by changing up the colours. You will see this in more of the samples I have to share tomorrow.

The next clear stamp set being released is Festive Sentiments Outlined. With the popularity of Sentiments Outlined released in July, it was a no brainer to bring out a festive version!

Oct19Release2

Unlike Sentiments Outlined, I have designed this stamp set to be a little more flexible in building your own sentiments. Plus, some can be used all year round and not just for your holiday cards. Though some, like the ‘Let it Snow’ I have used on this card come as one sentiment.

Oct19Release2a

I couldn’t resist doing this all over design again like I did HERE with Sentiments Outlined. It is fairly time consuming, especially the colouring in of the sentiments in black, but I love the look! I used some blue tones to colour the focal ‘Let it Snow’ sentiment and I also added some clear gloss Nuvo Drops to that sentiment. This time I decided to add a little embellishment of some sparkly stamped and die cut snowflakes from BIG & BOLD Snow.

The last of the clear stamps for this release is an addition to the Background Blocks series. I love this series of single stamps as they are great for creating a quick cards for all sorts of occasions.

Oct19Release6

Here I introduce you to Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas. As you can see it is a very similar design to the previously released Stencil Scandinavian Christmas.

Oct19Release6a

This card was so quick and easily mass producible, if needed! I simply stamped the block in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with my favourite ‘go to’ embossing powder for festive makes, Stardust! I’ve then adhered the stamped panel to my card base using foam adhesive and added a simple sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

Okay, that’s all the stamps for this release, but how about a look at the Designer Dies and Stencil design!

Oct19Release1

First up is Designer Dies Winter Foliage Collection to match the previously released and ever popular Winter Foliage clear stamp set. To say I am excited about these dies is an understatement! They have been a long awaited addition and I can’t wait to really sit down and play with them!

Oct19Release1a

Here I have used all but one of the coordinating dies and just look at this background. This photo really doesn’t show how sparkly this stencil design is. I’ve used the new Stencil Winter Foliage and the last of my Nuvo Moonstone embossing paste. You will recognise quite a few of the images in this stencil design, taken from a mixture of Uniko clear stamp sets, such as Background Builders Vines Winter Additions.

Next I have another set of coordinating designer dies, this time to match another of the BIG & BOLD clear stamps, BIG & BOLD Snow, which leads me onto my next card!

Oct19Release8

Here I have reached for some lovely Pool Party card stock and stamped & embossed the Large Scattered Polka Dot Background with WOW! Clear Sparkle embossing powder. I then die cut the Snow and Snow shadow and added lots of glittery loveliness to the die cut snow *huge heart eyes*.

Oct19Release8a

AND lastly, but by no means least I introduce the last of the designer dies and a beautiful stand alone one at that, Designer Die Sparkling Snowflake.

Oct19Release5

Just look at this beauty! Do you recognise the design of the snowflake? Yep, that’s right, it’s my favourite design from the previously released and much loved Stunning Snowflakes. You can see the stamped snowflakes behind this sparkly snowflake and again the sentiment from Festive Sentiments Outlined.

Oct19Release5a

So that concludes the October Release! What do you think? I’d love to know and which is your favourite, I think mine has to be the Designer Die Sparkling Snowflake, I am a sucker for snowflakes after all 😉

Okay, now I am off to finish adding all these lovely products to the website and now that I have an unexpected Bean free night AND the football is on to keep hubby occupied, they might be up early!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs

FUN Background Blocks Inspiration

Hey & Happy Monday!

I hope your week has started well. Like those in the USA, we have a holiday Monday here in the UK and typically it has been a pretty wet and windy day. Though perfect for lazy days snuggling on the sofa watching Pixar movies! It’s still quite a novelty here as The Beans are now interested and have the concentration to watch a movie that isn’t Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3 or Cars!

Anyway, I’m here this evening to share a trio of cards I have made recently using Background Blocks and the fun you can have with them and also how they can be used to make quick clean and simple cards.

BBinspiration1

First I have this Zentangle inspired card using Background Blocks Wonky Stripes. Okay, so this card isn’t my usual CAS style as it has lots of added detail, but it did only use minimal supplies.

My card was inspired by one that popped up on my Instagram feed a while ago HERE. Amber has used a stencil & added Zentangle designs in-between the ink blended stripes.

BBinspiration1a

For this card I stamped the Background Blocks Wonky Stripes in VersaFine Onyx Black ink. After the ink was dry I used a black fine line pen to add Zentagle patterns inside each of the stripes. It seemed fitting to add a Birthday Sentiment from Simply Said Blocks as Uniko is celebrating with & sponsoring this fortnights challenge over HERE at AAA Cards.

5th birthday banner

AAA Cards is celebrating their 5th Birthday & have a FUN birthday challenge, along with LOTS of other ways to win prizes from sponsors, including Uniko 🙂

For my next card I was inspired to use Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots

BBinspiration2

Like all of the background blocks, the scattered polka dots is a fun design to stamp in an ombre effect. Here I have used my recent purchase of the Altenew Gentleman’s Grey collection of inks. I used my MISTI stamping tool and simply inked up each colour starting from the top with the lightest shade, down to the bottom with the darkest shade.

BBinspiration2a

I decided to embellish the polka dot background with the largest bloom from Kindess Blooms stamped, coloured with Copic markers & fussy cut. I adhered it to my card base using foam adhesive and finished the card with the thank you sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II and some Liquid Mercury Nuvo Drops.

Lastly, I decided to give Background Blocks Horizontal Stripe some inky love…

BBinspiration3

For this card I gave my newly acquired Catherine Pooler inks a test run! I used Suede Shoes for the horizontal stripes and Coral Cabana and Samba for the Wonderful Day flowers. The leaves, also from Wonderful Day are stamped in Grass Skirt.

BBinspiration3a

I’ve used WOW Opaque White EP for the flower details and some Gloss White Nuvo drops for the flower centres. The sentiment is also from Wonderful Day stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black.

I hope these cards have given you some inspiration as to how to use the Background Block stamps 🙂 I’d love to see what you create!

That’s all from me today, but I hope to find some creative time for more projects I have in my head that need to make it onto a card 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

September 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!! Apologies for my lateness in posting, I simply ran out of time before vacation to prep and didn’t have the energy on a night whilst away to work!

Anyway, this month I couldn’t decide on the product and as a team we randomly selected a stamp set and then I went a little polka crazy and added in some popular sentiment sets too…

Large Background Scattered Polka Dots

Large Background Scattered Polka Hearts

Simply Said Blocks

Simply Said Blocks II

Stencil Scattered Polka Dots

These clear stamp sets and stencils are perfect for all sorts of backgrounds for all sorts of occasions that the Design Team will show you. They are a perfect addition to anyones crafting arsenal!

Here is what I decided to make…

I was inspired to use the Large Background Scattered Polka Dots and Large Background Scattered Polka Hearts to create a couple of cards to look like wrapped presents.

UnikoSeptRV1

I started with the Large Background Scattered Polka Dots, stamping it in VersaMark ink and embossing in white onto my favourite Coastal Cabana card stock. I then wrapped white bakers twine around as you would with string around a present and secured it in a bow. I’ve then mounted the panel to a matching card base using foam adhesive. The sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II is stamped onto a Pretty Pink Posh die cut tag and adhered to the card.

UnikoSeptRV1a

I used the same design process for my next card using the Large Background Scattered Polka Hearts, but this time I changed the orientation to portrait.

UnikoSeptRV2

This time I stamped the polka hearts in Altenew Coral Berry ink and again the sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks II.

UnikoSeptRV2a

That’s all from me, but let’s see how the design team have been inspired to use the products and be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win a Uniko £20 eGift Certificate. You have until Midnight (GMT) until midnight BST Saturday 22nd Sept 2018 to comment.

Happy Hopping!

Introducing… Flower Power #8

Hey!

Welcome to day 5 of the May 2018 Release product introductions!

Today we are introducing the next clear stamp set in the Flower Power series. It’s been an age since I added to this series and when I stumbled upon another floral in my archive of designs it seemed perfect to add to the Flower Powers 🙂

Hopefully you have hopped on over from our AMAZING Guest Designer Anna’s blog. If not, be sure to have a look at Anna’s colourful and cheerful scrapbook layout HERE.

I’ve one more card to share today using this clear stamp set…

IntroFP#82

I’ve been seeing Lime Green with Black & White a lot recently and I thought it would be fun to use the colour combo for my card.

IntroFP#82a

I’ve also been seeing a lot of partial stencilled backgrounds behind images, so I thought I would try my hand at it! I used the Scattered Polka Dot stencil and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. I still need a little practice with my faded blending technique, but I was pleased with the results.

Ok, that is all I’ve had time to make so far using this set 🙁 So many ideas, not enough time! Luckily I have a FAB design team who’ve made amazing projects to share with you. Be sure to hop on round and leave some LOVE.

GIVEAWAY ALERT! As this is a Kindness themed clear stamp set, I will be giving one away to one lucky commenter!

Introducing… Kindness Blooms & Uniko Stencil Fun Flowers

Hey!

Welcome back to the final day of the product introductions! This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

What a FUN 4 days it has been! If you’ve missed any of the introductions you can catch up HEREHEREHERE and HERE.

Today the Design Team and I are here to introduce the last floral products, Kindness Blooms clear stamp set and Fun Flowers Stencil.

I think I have yet again saved a new favourite until last 😉 I just can’t seem to stop using the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set! This set contains a fun doodle style flower in 2 sizes, some fun flower accents and kindness mix and match sentiments.
IntroKindnessBlooms1
For my first card today I have only used the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set, but due to the technique I used and showed HERE, a few at the Uniko Stamping Retreat on Saturday thought that I had used the same technique on the Large Scattered Polka Dot BG. However, I have used the single polka dot that comes in the Kindness Blooms set and simply randomly stamped it in a rainbow of Altenew ink colours.
IntroKindnessBlooms1a

The kraft card stock layer is adhered to the rainbow background using foam adhesive and the sentiment is just one of the options available.

Next I was inspired by a Mid Century Modern pattern design that I had come across on Pinterest HERE

IntroKindnessBlooms2

This was a sheer accident! I had not consciously thought about this when designing the set, but the happy coincidence and results are super fun 🙂

IntroKindnessBlooms2a

That’s all I have to share using Kindness Blooms today and I will be sharing a card using the Fun Flowers stencil over HERE at 1pm GMT for my CAS Colours & Sketches DT post 😉

Again it’s a hop full of wonderful inspiration and techniques, I can’t wait to read how they’ve created all their samples! So get comfy, grab a drink and be sure to hop around all the Design Team blogs for a TON of inspiration and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

So that is all the product introductions, which means tomorrow is Release Day! Wednesday 28th February 9am GMT you will get to see the products in their entirety and purchase them HERE on the website! As usual there will be a Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Ultraviolet Hugs!

Hello!

I’m back today with a card inspired by Pantone’s colour of 2018 Ultraviolet. Taken from the Pantone website,  this years colours is…

‘A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future’.

They continue to talk about how the colour suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, with intrigue of what lies ahead. The vast night sky is symbolic of what is possible and how it can inspire.

Pantone

A future trend for Autumn/Winter 2018/19 is Celestial and we are already seeing this emerge within the paper crafting community with night sky/outer space background along with stars, constellations and star signs. So Pantone’s Ultraviolet colour of the year pairs wonderfully with this and I am sure you will be seeing LOTS of shades of purple around blog land in the coming weeks and months.

Though Uniko has a small ‘celestial’ inspired range of stamps (Background Blocks Stars, Background Builders: Seeing Stars and Reach For The Stars) however, I wanted to use shades of purple in a different way and for today’s card I decided to combine 3 of the clear stamp sets from the recent December Release. Pure Florals: Rose, BIG & BOLD Hugs and Large Background Scattered Polka Dots.

I’ve not really set any New Years resolutions this year, because when I do I always seem to fail within a day or so, as they are simply unrealistic. Such as trying to make a card and blog everyday. As much as I want to be able to do this, my life with being a housewife, full time mum to The Beans, running Uniko and all that is involved with a small business, is simply unachievable.

I’ve seen others choose #onelittleword to live by for the year, but I can’t seem to decide upon just one word! So this year I am going to be ME. To aim high, to do my best and improve in all aspects of my life, to be kind, spread kindness and cheer. Most of all teaching The Beans all these things.

One of things I want to improve on is actually sending more of the cards I make. It is quite sad that many of the cards I have made in the past that don’t make it onto a sample board, sit and collect dust or hide away in a box 🙁 I was proactive towards the end of 2017 and donated quite a few cards to a customer to sell for charity.

UltravioletHugsb

So this card was made for a purpose, to cheer someone up and to send a hug in an envelope as they are too far away to hug in person. Hopefully the recipient will share this card on social media when they receive it?!

UltravoiletHugsc

Anyway, back to my card! I’ve stamped the roses and leaves, masking in-between and colouring with Prismacolor Pencils. I then masked them all to stamp the Large Background Scattered Polka Dots in Altenew Limestone ink. The ‘hugs’ sentiment is stamped in Altenew Deep Iris ink, fussy cut out and adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

That’s all I have to share with you today, thank you for stopping by & I hope to be back tomorrow (I’ve a Bean Free Day) with more to share.

Hugs

NBUS Challenge #12 and a BIG peek at something NEW!

Hey!

I can’t believe it’s day 9 of Darnell’s NBUS #12 Challenge and I am only ‘just’ finding some time to play along 🙁 Good new is I have an extra day to play along as it’s now on for 11 days!

button aqua use this the

Anyway, here’s what I’ve made using some NBUS…

NBUS#12a{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

So, I’ve had a trio of the Distress Oxide inks (Worn Lipstick, Broken China & Cracked Pistachio) for quite a while now and I’ve not really had chance to ‘play’ with them and experiment with blending them. That was until last week when I received a newly design Uniko product to test, Uniko Stencils!! This got me all inspired to test drive the inks with this new stencil 🙂

Yep, you are getting the first real look at ‘one’ of the new stencil designs being released this month! With the popularity of the recently released Background Blocks: Scattered Polka Dots clear stamp, I decided to do a larger version as a 6×6″ stencil.

NBUS#12b

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

And, just look at those inks on kraft card stock? They are so vibrant and I don’t know if it is just me, but they blend SO much easier than the regular distress inks?!

The layout of my card is from the current AAA Cards challenge HERE, which this fortnight is a sketch, seen below. My stencilled panel was perfect to split into 2 and I simply added a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.

#100

Ok, that’s all from me today. I have a list as long as my arm of housework and jobs to be done before I head across to Happy Stampers Festival this Saturday! I am sure there is still time to grab a ticket HERE as they’re not available to purchase on the door and must be bought prior to the show.

I am looking forward to the show & if you’re attending please drop by the stand and say ‘Hello’!

Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II as this weeks SOTW…

NaturesTreasuresIIPP copy

I’m still enjoying this weeks Stamp Of The Week and I feel I may not have enough days in the week to share all the ideas I have using it! I’ll have to save them for another time 😉

Anyway, here is todays card…

2016SOTW79

Today I decided to go for some classic paper piecing and use some of my stash of patterned papers. I opted for a non traditional leaf colour scheme of Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz polka dot paper from Papertrey Ink.

2016SOTW79a

I simply stamped the largest outline leaf onto white CS twice and fussy cut them out. I then stamped the same leaf onto both scraps of polka dot paper and just cut the inner leaves out. These where then adhered to the white stamped and cut leaves using my two way glue pen. A simple bakers twin bow and sentiment from Simply Said finished the card off.

All the supplies I have used are listed below AND before I go I have a LIMITED time only SALE!

Ok, that’s all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share using this set. Don’t forget that the set is discounted HERE for this week only.

Stamp Of The Week – Sweet Baby

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Sweet Baby

SweetBabyPP

I’ve chosen this set to revisit this week for a couple of reasons (no I am not pregnant!) first up it recently came back in stock and secondly my friend from Uni just became a Grandma this week 🙂

So, with needing to make a couple of baby cards I thought it the perfect opportunity to give this set some inky love. This is what I came up with for todays card…

2016SOTW45

I used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! sketch seen HERE below for the layout of my card and as my friends daughter has had a little boy I decided to add some naturals to the blue base of the card.

CTS_165

I know I am biased, but I love this cute bear and decided to use him for this card! I simply stamped him onto some kraft CS and fussy cut him out. The sentiment is a mix of precious from Sweet Baby and New Baby from Simply Said.

2016SOTW45a

As I’ve added some Papertrey Ink Bitty Polka Dot Satin ribbon I am going to enter this card into the current “Less is More” challenge HERE, which is to use Polka Dots.

That’s all from me today, I will be back with more to share using this set tomorrow. Don’t forget that this set is discounted this week HERE on the website.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Have YOU joined us yet?

Hey!

I’m here today to remind you that there is still time to join in on the current Uniko Challenge HERE. This fortnight we have another easy challenge for you…

‘Black & White with an optional twist – a splash of colour

We have two lovely guest designers joining us Anita & Julie B, be sure to stop on by their blogs as well as the Uniko Design Team. We have prizes up for grabs too, all links to the team and their creations along with the prizes can be found HERE on the other Uniko blog!

Again, I went with the optional twist of colour and AGAIN I reached for the hot pink!

UC#23c

I decided to use the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below for the layout of my card, which was also the starting point for my choice of stamps, the polaroid frame from Strike a Pose!

FMS Final 196-001

As you can see I rotated the sketch so that the polaroid frame would fit nicely. I need a few cards to send to friends I haven’t been in touch with for a while and so I decided to use the HEY! sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #2 and added a layered small butterfly from English Country Garden Butterflies.

UC#23d

That’s all from me today, be sure to stop on by and enter the challenge HERE, I’d love you to join in 🙂
