Large Background Tropical Paradise Inspiration

Hello!

It is an overcast Thursday here in the NE of the UK 🙁 I am longing for the hot sunny days to return, so I can get out on more adventures with the boys and not get soaked through!

Anyway, I thought I would cheer Thursday up with some more Large Background Tropical Paradise inspiration. I have a couple of cards to share that both use an ink blended background. I created both backgrounds a while back when I was comparing Distress Oxide Inks with Hero Hues Reactive Inks and they are pretty much the same. I will do a comparison post soon, for now I used the backgrounds to make these cards…

LBtropicalparadise1

First up a fun technique I am loving right now, Reverse Emboss Resist. This is such an awesome technique to use with all those colourful ink blended backgrounds and large background stamps!

LBtropicalparadise1a

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Fossilised Amber, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers to create my ink blended background. Once it was fully dry, (either by heat setting or leaving for a few hours to dry naturally) I then stamped the Large Background Tropical Paradise in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with WOW! Clear Gloss EP.

LBtropicalparadise1b

Then, using Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink and ink blending tool I covered the whole panel with the black ink! This is quite scary as you feel you are going to ruin the image! It’ll turn out awesome though once you buff the image with a paper towel or semi dry stamp shammy. Then bring out the embossing shine again by heating up the embossing again gently.

Just look at those beautiful colours shine through 🙂 I finished the card off with a partially stamped and embossed ‘Celebrate’ from Sentiments Outlined.

Lastly for today I used my other ink blended panel as a backdrop for a partially stamped and fussy cut Large Background Tropical Paradise

LBtropicalparadise2

The ink blended background was created using Hero Hues Reactive inks. I used similar colours to the Distress Oxide Inks used for the first card. The colours I used are

LBtropicalparadise2a

I then stamped the Large Background Tropical Paradise onto some white card and fussy cut out across the diagonal to create a partial panel. I wanted the sentiment from Sentiments Outlined to be stamped onto the ink blended background.

I intended for this post to be finished and up yesterday, but due to a pulled right shoulder and two kiddos needing attention I didn’t get this last little bit done!

Today is my Bean free day, so I am hoping for a slower paced, restful but productive day! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely day.

Hugs

Blooming Congrats!

Hey!

Apologies for the long time no posting here on the website blog, you guys have so wonderfully kept me busy with all the wonderful release day & post release day orders! You are all simply amazing and I can’t thank you enough.

Also, I apologise that so many of the February Release products have sold out, I have had restocks of all the NEW Stencils and I have a restock of the NEW clear stamps and others arriving on the 12th March. I will be updating the website to allow backorders on all of the items due in this afternoon.

Anyway, as I haven’t had much creative time, I thought I would share this card that I never got round to sharing! This card I made a while back and it is one that we created at the recent Uniko 6th Birthday Stamping Retreat.

KindnessCongrats

I’ve used the new Kindness Blooms clear stamp set, paired with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks and at the time the Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends were a new toy!

KindnessCongrats1

I stamped the smallest of the loopy flowers from the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set onto some Stampin’ Up! vellum in VersaMark ink, then heat embossed them with detail white embossing powder. I then used the Stampin’ Blends to colour on the reverse of the flowers. I fussy cut the vellum panel out adhered it with glue, added the sentiment and some enamel dots to finish.

That’s all I have to share for today, hopefully I will find a little creative time during my Bean free day today 😉 Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs

Introducing… Life is a Song, Background Blocks Equaliser & Uniko Stencil Equaliser

Hey!

Welcome back to day four of the product introductions. This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

So far we have had 3 wonderful days of inspiration and creativity introducing 4 of the new products being released. If you missed the fun you can catch up HERE, HERE and HERE.

Today the Design Team and I are here to introduce 2 more clear stamp sets and 1 more of the new Uniko Stencils coming on the 28th February. The products today all have a music theme.

I’ve been stretched for time and hampered by bugs and a migraine yesterday, so only have the one sample to show you (sorry to those at The Stamping Retreat who’ve seen this) today & my apologies for being late too 🙁

IntroEquaiser1

I’ve used the Background Block Equaliser to create this rainbow card 🙂 I used my MISTI tool to stamp the block in Versamark ink and then rotated my card round and stamped the image again to achieve a reflected image. I then heat embossed with detail white embossing powder.

IntroEqualiser1a

I then used my Copic markers in a rainbow of colours to colour each of the equaliser blocks. It was quite time consuming, but the results are totally worth the effort! The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks and adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

That’s all I have to share with you today, but we have a hop full of wonderful inspiration and techniques, I can’t wait to read how they’ve created all their samples! So get comfy, grab a drink and be sure to hop around all the Design Team blogs for a TON of inspiration and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

Such a rainbow of colour today, I think that is what drew me to designing an equaliser! So many colour and fun possibilities 🙂

Introducing 23rd – 27th, here you will see a closer look at the products being released with a daily blog hop with the Uniko DT.

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Day 21!

Hey!

I’m super happy you’ve popped by today as here at Uniko we are super excited to be part of a wonderful festive event…

25Days2015

This is the 7th year the lovely and creative Tracey McNeely  from In My Creative Opinion has organised this fun and festive event to spread Christmas Cheer.

Uniko are honoured to be one of the 25 sponsors of the event and to be taking part 🙂

Sponsors 2017

Myself and the Uniko Design Team have got our festive on and created some Christmas Tags to share with you, so let’s get to the inspiration!

23755199_10210420267200918_8743181802428637073_n

First up I decided to go a little ‘Traditional’ with a classic red, white and gold combo. I don’t think Festive Sentiments has left my desk since it was released last month!

I dusted off one of my all time favourite Papertrey Ink Tag Sale dies, this is No.5 I love the curved top and the notched bottom of this tag shape and it as a good size, not too big, but not too small!

25DaysChristmasTags1a

So for this tag I simply die cut the tag from Stampin’ Up! Real Red card, stamped my sentiment from Festive Sentiments in VersaMark and heat embossed in Gold EP. I added a Soft Stone satin ribbon tail, secured with some Stampin’ Up! bakers twine.

Next, I couldn’t resist a snowflake tag!

25DaysChristmasTags2

I am loving having the Uniko Designer Die Snowflake Trio back in the inventory, I sure have missed using these beauties!

I fairly recently purchased some Stampin’ Up! Mini Pizza Boxes to use as gift packaging this Christmas and I thought it was the perfect size to dress up using a not so recent Stampin’ Up! purchase of the Cheerful Tags dies! I think these are now retired.

There are 2 tags in the set of Cheerful Tags dies and the one I have used has handy ribbon threading holes at the top and bottom of the tag. The tag does come with a back, but I didn’t need it and wanted my tag to be completely flat against the lid of the box.

25DaysChristmasTags2a

I didn’t want a design that would take too much focus off the sparkly medium snowflake, but I really wanted to pair it with the recently released Uniko Wonky Stripes Stencil! So, I opted for a soft Altenew grey ink (Silver Stone) to ink the stencil design onto the tag shape. I then simply adhered the tag over the top using foam adhesive. The ribbon is another favourite of mine, Hawaiian Shores from Papertrey Ink.

I had planned to make SO many different tags using Uniko’s festive clear stamps, but time was not on my side! Hopefully I will get to make and share these before the end of the event!

Anyway, the Uniko Design Team have some festive inspiration to share with you too, be sure to stop by their blogs (links below) and leave some love!

Stamp Of The Week – Rustic Christmas

Hey!

Welcome back, and my apologies for my absence at the end of last week, nothing like a sickness bug to disrupt everything 🙁 I was laid up in bed Thursday and Friday, unable to do anything. Movement was a no no as it made the sickness worse.

Anyway, this week I am continuing with Rustic Christmas as my SOTW…

RusticChristmasPP

Today I have gone for a super CAS card. My mojo hasn’t quite returned and so I used a pin I saved on Pinterest HERE to CASE…

I also used the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge colours seen HERE and below for my card. They are having a DT Call this week and next week, so be sure to check it out and join in!

CC&S color196-001

I was going to add some twine or thread above the sentiment, but decided I didn’t quite have the right colour, really need some Metallic Copper thread 😉

That’s all I have to share today, I will be back tomorrow with more using this set. Don’t forget that the set is discounted HERE for this week only.

Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

Apologies for my lack of posting recently, my creative mojo seemed to disappear as soon as the sunshine arrived. Anyway, I am back (for now) with a little creative mojo and a new Stamp Of The Week.

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II

NaturesTreasuresIIPP copy

This set was and still is one of my favourite and definitely a ‘go to’ set when I need some leaves. It pairs wonderfully with loads of Uniko clear stamp sets, but can also be used on its own like I have done for todays card, apart from the sentiment from Simply Said Birthday

2016SOTW73

I have been enjoying the technique of ink blending recently with my new Clarity Stencil Brushes and so with the current AAA Cards challenge HERE and seen below is to use a stash favourite I decided to ink them up for the challenge.

#69

Not a huge amount to say about my card, I simply blended my Tim Holtz Mini Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers on a piece of Whisper White CS.

2016SOTW73a

I then stamped all of the leaves along the edge of my card in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them in detail white embossing powder. I then fussy cut around the leaves and adhered the panel to a thick Whisper White CS base.

A really quick and CAS card, just the way I like it!

Ok, that’s all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share using this set. Don’t forget that the set is discounted HERE for this week only.

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by 🙂

Stamp Of The Week – Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

Hey!

A new week and a NEW Stamp Of The Week! This week I am dusting off… Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

PFchrysanthemumPP

Todays card is another that we made at the class on Saturday at The Paperlane and is one of my favourites…

JulyClass5

I like colouring and especially with my Prismacolor Pencils, they look awesome on Kraft card stock, especially bright yellows and oranges.

2016SOTW69a

This took quite a bit of stamping, embossing in detail white EP and masking, I started with the small outline bloom and then each of the leaves. I then spent probably about 30+ minutes colouring them in. Starting with the lighter shades and adding details with the medium and dark shades and then going back in blending with the lightest.

2016SOTW69

I kept the sentiment, other embellishments and details simple, so not to take any focus away from the beautiful flower.

As I have done some colouring, I am entering it into Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Colour Challenge HERE.

Ok, that’s all from me tonight, I will be back tomorrow with more inspiration featuring this set and don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week. Plus I have another 15% off discount code THIS WEEK ONLY!

Uniko Challenge #31

Hey!

Today is the start of the Uniko April Challenge HERE. This month we have another FUN and easy challenge for you to join in on…

UnikoChallenge#4

This time it is a theme challenge and we want to see you using metallics on your creations.

You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products.  And, if you do use Uniko, there’s an extra chance to win a prize.

Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!

This month we have another super Guest Designer joining us this month, Christy from Schnauzer Crafts Creations. Christy was the lucky winner from Challenge #29 and has created this beauty to inspire you.

CLICK HERE to see more from Christy and leave some love 🙂

Before I get to my project be sure to check out the Design Team inspiration HERE and also link up your creations.

This is how I was inspired to use metallics…

USC#31

I’ve been wanting to pair the recently release Fun Flowers with Natures Treasures II and so that’s what I did on my card today! I decided to use heat embossing and gold embossing powder as my metallic element.

USC#31a

I also added some SU! metallic gold washi tape, something I rarely add to my projects. I created the stamped section by masking off the bottom half of my project, stamping and shaking on embossing powder as I went. This was so I knew where my images were to stamp the next and also so I only heat set it one time.

I added a sentiment from Simply Said Birthday, which will be back in stock in the next week or so along with some metallic nail heads.

Now, if you need more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes.

THE PRIZES

* The DT will choose a winner who will get a £20 gift voucher

* The DT choose a Top 3 who will each get 50 Loyalty Rewards Points added to their customer account.

*We will do a random draw for all those who use A UNIKO stamp, and this winner will get 150 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account

You’ve got plenty of time to play along with this month’s challenge.  The deadline for submission is midnight (BST) on Friday 13th May (7.00pm EDT)

Hope to see you in the gallery HERE 😉

Stamp Of The Week – All Occasion Sentiments #3

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… All Occasion Sentiments #3

AllOccasionSentiment3PP

I’m back this week dusting off another clear stamp set that came back in stock recently and one which is a go to sentiment set for those quick CAS cards! Tonights card was one of those…

2016SOTW55

With the April Release now available HERE to buy and the Design Team Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY HERE, I couldn’t resist using the Fun Flowers paired with the ‘Fabulous’ sentiment, one of my favourites in the set 😉

2016SOTW55a

My card is so simple, I literally stamped the ‘Fabulous’ sentiment in VersaMark ink and dusted it with gold embossing powder. Before I heat set any of the card design I repeated the process for each stamped flower. This way you can easily see the images you have stamped and the card won’t get over heated/warped multiple times.

Also I have found that when using the Fun Flowers set it is easier to position and stamp/stack the flowers by starting with the smallest first and working up to the biggest.

Short & sweet from me tonight, I have a couple more orders to pack ready to post tomorrow. It’s a good job the beans like their trip out in the pram everyday 😉

Anyway, I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Pure Florals: Cosmos

PFCosmosPP

This is the set the Design Team and I have revisited this month with a blog hop & giveaway HERE, so with it already out and getting some inky love and attention I thought I would give it some more this week!

2016SOTW43Todays card is inspired by a couple of challenges (no change there then!) First up the layout of my card uses the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below. Another of those sketches that looks and IS fun and I just had to have a go at!

FMS Final 229-001

The second challenge was for colours and I LOVE the colours they have chosen at the Color Throwdown HERE and seen below this week, Teal, Aqua and Gold – YUM!

2016SOTW43a

I decided to Gold heat emboss the Cosmos flowers on my trio of squares and after I added the aqua colour to the petals using a Copic marker, quick and simple flat colouring.

Don’t forget that there is still time to join in and comment along the hop HERE to be in the chance of winning the featured clear stamp set. Plus, there is also the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop in progress and details and giveaway info HERE.

Ok, that’s all from me tonight, I’ve some orders to prep and the mini April Release to prepare for, goodies arriving in the post tomorrow 😉 Thanks for stopping by today, see you tomorrow and don’t forget that this set is discounted in store HERE this week too!
