August 2016 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

With the summer holidays in full swing here in the UK and as I spend time with my beans and family you might have guessed with no sneak peeks that there is no new release this month. So instead we have another Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY instead!

This month I decided upon the Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum clear stamp set, probably due to the lovely summer blooms that I am seeing on my days out and time in the garden!

This is what I came up with…

As usual I turned to a couple of challenges to spark my creativity! It’s been a little all over the place these past few weeks and so I needed a little help again 😉

For the layout of my card I used the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below.

I then needed a colour scheme for my card so I turned to the Color Throwdown seen HERE and below. A lovely summery combination this week perfect for florals.

Quite a simple CAS card with a little masking and stamping! I started by stamping the sentiment and masking it off to stamp the flower and leaves. I added a little more interest to the card by dividing my aqua strips of card rather than layering a white piece of CS to create the lines of the sketch.

Stamp Of The Week – BIG & BOLD Wish

Hey!

This week I have decided to dust off BIG & BOLD Wish as this weeks SOTW…

It is a small clear stamp set with BIG possibilities, it is great used on its own and also to pair with other recently released clear stamp sets. It is also a set that I have neglected for a while 🙁 time to give it some inky LOVE 🙂

Here is todays card…

A quick CAS one layer rainbow candle card! I simply stamped the polka dot candle across my white card base in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and coloured them using my SU! Brights Markers. The candle flame is stamp and then coloured with a gold Wink Of Stella pen. The sentiment is from Pure Florals: Cosmos.

I decided to combine my Guest Designer card with my Stamp Of The Week card. This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II as this weeks SOTW…

I was going to be creative and dust off my sewing machine to add some stitching, but time got the better of me and my machine is buried under a pile of half started sewing projects 😉

So instead I decided to opt for the faux stitching effect…

I used one of my favourite Mama Elephant edging dies to cut a white scalloped strip that has a faux stitch effect.

I adhered the strip near to the bottom of my card before stamping the leaves, flowers and swirls. Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II as this weeks SOTW…

I’m still enjoying this weeks Stamp Of The Week and I feel I may not have enough days in the week to share all the ideas I have using it! I’ll have to save them for another time 😉

Anyway, here is todays card…

Today I decided to go for some classic paper piecing and use some of my stash of patterned papers. I opted for a non traditional leaf colour scheme of Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz polka dot paper from Papertrey Ink.

I simply stamped the largest outline leaf onto white CS twice and fussy cut them out. I then stamped the same leaf onto both scraps of polka dot paper and just cut the inner leaves out. These where then adhered to the white stamped and cut leaves using my two way glue pen. A simple bakers twin bow and sentiment from Simply Said finished the card off.

So here is todays card…

Todays card is inspired by the new CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below. So many FUN possibilities with this sketch.

I love how quick this card came together. The ombre of greens I used for the BG were already on my desk from previous cards this week and all I needed was a stamp to use for the BG and so I reached for my hardly inked SU! Timeless Textures stamp set. This set pairs with SO many stamps and styles, yet I have hardly used it (*blush*).

A quick CAS card and post from me tonight as I have SO much to do in SO little time! These beans have worn me out this week too, but they are so much fun too 😉

Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II as this weeks SOTW…

This set was and still is one of my favourite and definitely a ‘go to’ set when I need some leaves. It pairs wonderfully with loads of Uniko clear stamp sets, but also works well on it’s own too.

Today, whilst playing with the beans I have been thinking all things wreaths and designing all sorts in my head! This evening, once they had gone to bed it was time to put these virtual designs onto paper…

I started by stamping the smallest outline leaf from the set in two colours of green and fussy cut them out. I then adhered them to the card, trimming and tucking in the stems to create a wreath.

I added a sentiment from Simply Said and then stamped tiny flowers from Background Builders: Vines and Winter Vines.

The layout of my card today was also inspired by the new Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below.

Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II as this weeks SOTW…

My first card today uses the largest solid leaf design, stamped in a rainbow of colours…

This was super simple to do. I started by stamping the green leaves first in the top right corner to determine how far I wanted the leaves to come in to create a curve type stamped border. I then worked down to turquoise and purple and then across the top yellow to pink.

To finish the design off I coloured over the leaves with my Wink Of Stella and added a sentiment from Simply Said Birthday.

My next card today follows the same design, but this time I used a variety of shades of green and I used the more linear design of the largest leaves in the set…

After following the same stamping process and using a little bit of a masking technique to fill in some gaps using just part of the stamp. I went in and added some detail to the larger leaves using the smallest leaf stamp from Flower Power #6.

When I design clear stamp sets, I often look at previously released ones to see if there are possibilities for enhancing and getting more out of them by coordinating designs. The leaves in Flower Power #6 is just one example of this…

Again to finish the card off I added some Wink Of Stella to the non detail leaves and again my favourite sentiment from Simply Said Birthday.

Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

Apologies for my lack of posting recently, my creative mojo seemed to disappear as soon as the sunshine arrived. Anyway, I am back (for now) with a little creative mojo and a new Stamp Of The Week.

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II

This set was and still is one of my favourite and definitely a ‘go to’ set when I need some leaves. It pairs wonderfully with loads of Uniko clear stamp sets, but can also be used on its own like I have done for todays card, apart from the sentiment from Simply Said Birthday…

I have been enjoying the technique of ink blending recently with my new Clarity Stencil Brushes and so with the current AAA Cards challenge HERE and seen below is to use a stash favourite I decided to ink them up for the challenge.

Not a huge amount to say about my card, I simply blended my Tim Holtz Mini Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers on a piece of Whisper White CS.

I then stamped all of the leaves along the edge of my card in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them in detail white embossing powder. I then fussy cut around the leaves and adhered the panel to a thick Whisper White CS base.

A really quick and CAS card, just the way I like it!

I was inspired by the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below and turned to my favourite colour combination to help spark my mojo!

The sentiment is from Simply Said Birthday and the tiny rose and leaves from Background Builders: Vines. I added a few tiny rhinestones to fill the gaps and add a little sparkle.
