Happy 3rd Birthday TIME OUT Challenges!

I’m still in LOVE with the NEW Uniko Style clear stamp set released at the weekend, I don’t think the set has left my desk since I first inked it up! I’ve combined the blooms from Uniko Style with a sentiment from Originally Organic Additions (currently available on backorder and due in stock on the 10th March)

I’m loving this Spring fresh colour scheme too, I used it HERE on my CAS Colours & Sketches card too and couldn’t resit using it again. The layout of my card is from the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.

I used my MISTI to stamp each of the blooms and all of the layers. It was quite time consuming as I’ve used a total of 9 colours, but totally worth it. Because if I didn’t get a clean stamped image with the first stamp, I could ink up and stamp again, this is such a useful aspect of using the MISTI.

February 2017 & 5th Birthday Reveal, Release & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Welcome to the Uniko February 2017 & 5th Birthday Reveal, Release & GIVEAWAY!

Today I am here with the help of the awesome design team to introduce you to the FIVE clear stamp sets available to purchase HERE now!

Let’s have a look at them… First up we have one of the new style stamps and first in the series of Block Party. This one is appropriately named Block Party Birthday…

As you can see the stamp features some awesome birthday themed words in fabulous and trendy fonts, along with some current and retired Uniko birthday images. The stamp measures 9.5 x 13cm. If you missed seeing this set in action during the introductions, you can catch up HERE. However, I am sure you will see a few more ideas using this stamp along todays hop 😉

Next we have Originally Organic Additions…

I couldn’t resist bringing you this additions clear stamp set to not only work on its own, but to work with the popular Originally Organics clear stamp set released towards the end of 2016. Many of you will recognise the heart wreath featured in the set, which was part of a digital collection of stamps I designed for Simply Cards & Papercrafts Magazine HERE.

Another new style clear stamp series called Background Blocks. They are what they say, simply a block of yummy pattern! The first in this series Background Blocks Halftone is due to my LOVE of Pop Art and Roy Litchenstien, plus the modern pop art trend is making a come back this year.

Explosion! Additions clear stamp set, again due to my LOVE of Pop Art and to breath fresh life into the previously released Explosions! clear stamp set. Oh the fun I have had with these stamps 😉 If you missed the introduction of this set you can catch up HERE.

Lastly and by no means least, I think I save my NEW favourite to last, I welcome Uniko Style to the Uniko clear stamp line up…

Uniko Style is a modern Scandinavian inspired floral building and layering stamp set. This set might not be much to look at from the product picture itself, but the samples in the introduction HERE show just how it looks stamped in colour.

Now I have done all the formal introductions, here are a few more cards I made using the new stamps…

For my first card I decided to use Explosion! Additions and Background Blocks Halftone to try out an idea I had to add a halftone effect to the Copic coloured WOW! and BAM!

I started by stamping the words in Memento Tuxedo black and then colouring them with Copic Markers. I then created a negative mask of each of the words and stamped the Background Blocks Halftone in black ink just on the lower half of each word. I then masked each word to over stamp the halftone explosion in Lawn Fawn Merman ink.

The card took a couple of hours to make (I am slow a colouring), but I am really pleased with the result and it turned out how I had imagined it too 🙂

Next I decided to reach for my new FAVE, Uniko Style…

I decided to make a shaker card and added a little subtle Background Blocks Halftone behind the shaker window for added interest.

The sentiment is from Originally Organic Additions, the sequin mix from Pretty Pink Posh and the enamel accents from Stampin’ Up!

Uniko Sponsors “Less is More” and Birthday Celebrations!

I’m super duper pleased you have popped by today as again we have LOTS more fun to share with you! Not only is it the Uniko February & 5th Birthday Release Day, but we are celebrating along with “Less is More” and their birthday celebrations!

This post is simply awesome! As myself and Uniko are proud to be sponsoring the challenge over at “Less is More” this week. This week the challenge HERE is a sketch…

The Uniko Design Team and myself have joined in on the fun and created some cards using the sketch to inspire you to join in and this is what I created…

As you can see I couldn’t resist using the NEW Explosion! Additions set, the sketch just lent itself to it perfectly. I used my MISTI tool to stamp both the halftone explosion in Lawn Fawn Sunflower and the explosion from the original Explosion! set in VersaFine Onyx Black onto white two card panels.

I then used my new Stampin’ Up! Stitched Framelits dies to die cut the circle and adhere it using foam adhesive. The WOW! is coloured with markers and fussy cut out and the small trio of horizontal lines are from the original Explosion! clear stamp set.

As it is Release Day here at Uniko, I decided to make one more card using the NEW Originally Organic Additions clear stamp set.

Again I have used my new stitched dies and I layered it with an old Papertrey Ink doily die. The flower is stamping in Memento and coloured with Copic Markers and I added some Bakers Twine to follow the sketch.

Introducing… Uniko Style

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are almost over, we’ve only todays product to introduce, which means tomorrow is release day!

Yesterday the Design Team and I introduced Explosion! Additions. If you missed it and the previous products on Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday you can catch up HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

Today we are back to introduce you to Uniko Style. Now, those of you who know me and my love for Marimekko and the origin of Uniko then this set will be no surprise to you. Those who have requested it I introduce…Uniko Style, a Scandinavian inspired floral building set and I am in LOVE! I really got to sit and ‘play’ with this set properly yesterday and it is better than I imagined it to be 😉

This first card was inspired by the current Freshly Made Sketch layout seen HERE and below. I had used it on yesterdays card HERE and whilst making that this idea came to me. The set contains a small stamp which can be repeatedly stamped in the round to create a dandelion design. I have done this down the right hand side of my base card in Lawn Fawn Manatee ink.

However, I didn’t want the overall design to be too busy, so instead of repeating the stamped design on the left hand side, I decided to add a strip of Papertrey Ink Soft Stone card. The Uniko Style flower is stamped in Altenew ink and the sentiment is from Originally Organic Additions.

It was quite a time consuming design to stamp using my MISTI, but WOW, the results were even better than I could have imagined 😉

Introducing… Explosion! Additions

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are well underway, we’ve only one more product to introduce after today! Yesterday the Design Team and I introduced Background Blocks Halftone. If you missed it and the previous products on and Tuesday and Monday you can catch up HERE, HERE and HERE.

Today we are back to introduce you to Explosion! Additions. Like yesterday this set came about due to the Modern Pop Art trend that is set to make a reappearance this year. I’ve always had a LOVE for Pop Art and especially the work of Roy Litchenstein. Hence the launch of Explosion! clear stamp set a few years ago.

I’ve been wanting to breath new life into Explosion! and what better way than to do so when it’s going to be trendy again?! So I introduce you too Explosion! Additions…

The new Freshly Made Sketch seen HERE and below was just perfect for this card! Again I have paired both Explosion! and Explosion! Additions clear stamp sets.

I’ve utilised my MISTI tool again to position and stamp the large explosion on both the base card and the layer down the middle of the card. The WOW! is also stamped using the MISTI and I used my Mini Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers to achieve the ombre mix of colours. I added a smothering of Clear Wink of Stella too!

Introducing… Originally Organic Additions

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are well underway. Yesterday the Design Team and I introduced Block Party Birthday. If you missed it you can catch up HERE.

Today, we are back with the introduction of Originally Organic Additions – YAY! Originally Organic was introduced back in Sept/Oct last year HERE and I also had a feature and digital stamp collection in Simply Cards & Papercrafts HERE.

As both the clear stamps and digital stamps were so popular I decided to turn a few of the digital stamps into physical ones. Plus both sets can be mixed to create more possibilities, which I am sure you will see over the coming days/weeks 😉

Today I have focused on two of the smaller stamps in the set to create my own simple stamped background.

I’ve used another of the sentiments from the new set, again they are friendship and encouragement themed and have the same font mix that appears to be very popular.

I had a little trip out with the beans and a couple of crafty friends yesterday afternoon to the local Crafters Companion store. They have a lovely cafe too! So after a quick look round we sat, ate and decided what out purchases would be 😉

Anyway, I chose to try some lovely Lawn Fawn inks. The small outline flower and flower stem, which are two separate stamps are stamped in Manatee ink, a lovely soft grey. I was really pleased to discover that these inks withhold alcohol marker bleeding, so I coloured parts of the flower in with 3 different markers.

Introducing… Block Party Birthday

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 5 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

Today starting over HERE we are introducing a new to Uniko style of stamp called Block Party. The first stamp in this series is appropriately named Block Party Birthday.

I was having a ball with this stamp set over the weekend and made a few cards to share with you. I seem to have gone down more of a masculine route too with the colours and styles. This stamp also lent itself to me stepping away from my usual CAS style for more of a mix media styled cards…

First up I decided to go for a chalkboard effect (looks like I wasn’t the only one). I started by stamping the image twice (using the MISTI tool) with VersaMark ink. I then heat embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer Detail True White EP. I then ran my white ink pad down all four sides of the one layer card and I also brushed some white ink across the panel to achieve a dustier/slightly distress look.

Next I was inspired by DT member Deborah’s inspiration post HERE and FINALLY dusted off my Brusho’s! These have been stored away for over 6 years, I last used them at Uni! Anyway, this is the result…

I started with an A5 piece of watercolour card and I used a large brush to cover the paper with water. I then chose a selection of Brusho colours, Lime Green, Ost. Blue, Crimson and Violet and using a smaller brush I simply lightly flicked the colour onto the paper and let the water work the magic. After I added all the colours I did go back a flick some more water randomly to make some of the colours mix better.

After leaving it to completely dry I again used my MISTI to stamp the image in VersaFine Onyx Black ink a few times to get a crisp image. I am super pleased with how this turned out and will definitely be using them again soon 😉

Lastly I decided to go for another rainbow card…

For this one I dusted off my Mini Distress Inks and simply inked the stamp up yellow to turquoise and letting the colours overlap. So quick, easy and a multitude of colour options!

I decided to give some more NBUS a whirl and you are getting a early peek at 3 new stamps that we will be introducing on Tuesday 😉 I’ve also FINALLY got my hands on the Stampin’ Up! Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies – woohoo! I’ve wanted these dies for AGES and I got them last week in time for the Uniko February & 5th Birthday Release celebrations.

I also decided to have a ‘play’ and joined in the new CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge seen HERE and below, a fun sketch with lots of possibilities.

I also gave my Zigs a whirl, using 2 shades of pink and a blush colour to blend in from the top and bottom of the die cut circle. The ‘you’ die is also from Stampin’ Up! and I added a good smothering of clear Wink Of Stella.

Happy 5th Birthday Uniko!

Happy Birthday Uniko!

Today we are celebrating Uniko’s 5th Birthday. I can’t quite believe that Uniko has made it this far! What an amazing 5 years it has been…

Since I began this adventure back in 2012 awesome life events have taken place. From getting married in Hawaii in Sept 2013 to having twins in Sept 2014 and moving house in Feb 2015! Many of you have been with me since the beginning and have been a part of these along with being truly valued customers and supporters of myself and Uniko.

Without you Uniko wouldn’t be celebrating today, so to show my appreciation I am offering FREE Worldwide Shipping, this weekend!

Usually by now, I would have shared sneak peeks, introduced new products and had a release blog hop today and every other 11th of the month.

This year I have decided to take the pressure off myself a little bit by not having a ‘set’ schedule for new releases. Being a full time mummy to 2 two and a half year olds has enough stresses of it’s own!

I decided to break out some NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff), some mini distress inks that I bought a few weeks ago to create a ink blended panel. The layout of my card was inspired by the new CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below.

I then dusted off a trio of Uniko clear stamps, All Occasion Sentiments #2 for the large HAPPY. Simply Said Birthday for the small BIRTHDAY and Balloon Bash for the balloon and string.

I used my MISTI for placement of the sentiment and also the balloon string. The balloon is stamped in Hero Arts Mint to Green ombre ink and dusted with clear Wink Of Stella for some added sparkle 🙂
