Negatives, Positives & Balloons!

Hey!

What a scorcher here in the NE of the UK! Summer has finally arrived 🙂 I am not a sun worshipper as I burn easily, but I do love it when the sun is out. Then a good thunderstorm to go with it is just as good.

The beans & I took a lovely sunny walk this morning into our local market town – Yarm. Then this afternoon after the thunderstorm had cooled things down for a while at least, the new paddling pool was christened…

The beans LOVE bath time and even cry when it is time to get out so they thought it was fabulous when they were stripped naked and plopped into the pool!

Anyway, now they are fast asleep in bed I have snuck off to the studio office for a little creative time 🙂 I had this idea in my head for another card for CAS Colours & Sketches before the challenge closes tonight…

My idea took a little creative turn and instead of using the positive die cut which I had planned on I decided to use the negative instead. HERE and below is the sketch as a reminder…

I placed the string bow of the balloon where the ribbon bow is on the sketch and stamped the word happy to complete the line of the sketch. I also used the current colours over at The Card Concept HERE and below for my card.

Balloon Bash was the top seller on the website last month and it was the perfect set to use for my card along with a partial sentiment from A Gift For You.

Now I have caught up and got my creative fix I am going to go flop with hubby in front of the TV and watch an episode or two! Thanks for stopping by today & I will be back tomorrow with more to share 🙂

Have YOU joined in yet?

Hey!

I’m popping by today to remind you that there is still time to join in on the current Uniko Challenge HERE.

This fortnight it is a REALLY easy one for you, but with an optional twist to challenge yourself that little further if you wish.

Anything Goes with an optional twist of a Masculine Card

You can use any stamps you own to create your card/project, but I do love to see you use your Uniko goodies and there are prizes of course, listed at the end of my post along with other details.

I had my Background Builders: Chevrons out on the desk from my last card & post HERE, which was for the current TIME OUT Challenges challenge. It’s a perfect set for making a masculine card, as are all geometrics. So, with the help of a couple of other challenges I created this card…

UnikoChallenge#22

I started out by using the new CAS – Colours and Sketches layout seen HERE and below for the layout of my card. I then sought the help of the current colours over at ColourQ seen HERE and below.

I don’t often reach for a coloured card base, but as I don’t have Soft Sky in an ink pad I decided to use that colour as the base. I also felt that the other 3 colours went well stamped together in a trio of chevrons. I have a thing for slicing through my panels at the moment, it’s a current trend within paper crafting at the moment.

Doing this to my stamped panel also coincides with the sketch where the ribbon would be. I added a small amount of glitter and a sentiment from Simply Said Birthday to finish the panel off.

TIME OUT Challenges – Home Sweet Home

Hey!

How on earth did we get to Thursday?! The days are just zooming by for me at the moment as I juggle work and life in general. Plus the beans are keeping me on my toes as Josh has finally learnt to crawl and is into EVERYTHING! Ben isn’t crawling, but he can sure get where he wants to. Hence my lateness with todays post.

I’m here to share with you my card for the new challenge starting today at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight it is a Home Sweet Home challenge inspired by this photo…

I had so many ideas initially when I first saw this photo, but when it came to making the card none of my ideas worked, but this is how I was inspired…

I started by using the main colours in the photo and ‘trying’ to replicate the tile effect using  a couple of the small stamps from Background Builders: Chevrons. The ‘Hello’ is from All Occasion Sentiments #1.

This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Sue, be sure to stop by Sue’s blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team.

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations 🙂 I’ll be back again later in the week with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Clear Stamps

Uniko Challenge #22

Hey!

Today over HERE on the Uniko Blogger Blog we have a new challenge starting 🙂 This fortnight it is a REALLY easy one for you, but with an optional twist to challenge yourself that little further if you wish.

Anything Goes with an optional twist of a Masculine Card

You can use any stamps you own to create your card/project, but I do love to see you use your Uniko goodies and there are prizes of course, listed at the end of my post along with other details.

Normally I would have challenged myself to make a masculine card, but it just wasn’t happening. The idea I had in my head just wouldn’t translate onto my card! So I ended up making this instead…

UC#22

I was firstly inspired by the new challenge over a Fusion Card Challenge HERE and opted to use both the inspiration photo and the sketch seen below.

Bright Butterfly

When I see butterflies I can resist joining in and using the large butterfly from English Country Garden – Butterflies. I paired the butterfly with the solid bloom from Beautiful Blooms II which I masked and stamped in Angel Pink, Rose Bud and Mango Madness.

NEW Website & a card

Hey!

So, finally the NEW and improved Uniko website is up and running (YAY!) I still have products to add (dies and digital stuff), and I plan on adding more gallery photos. But the clear stamps are all up on there and the NEW loyalty points reward system is working too!

Here is a little overview of the loyalty rewards points system…

How it works:

Register for a new account on the new website. You will receive 25 points for opening an account, you only need to create an account once.

For every £1 you spend (not including postage costs) you will receive 1 point.

Once you have accumulated 50 points this will be worth £1 off a future purchase. Or you can save your points up to purchase a product.

  • £4.95 set requires 247 points
  • £9.95 set requires 497 points
  • £15.95 set requires 797 points

Points can be earned through social media, such as liking a product on Facebook, Tweeting & Google+

Points can be earned for referring a friend to Uniko

Points will be added to Uniko customer accounts (once created by the customer) who have ordered on the old website from February 11th 2015 onwards.

Exceptions:

Points will not be earned when purchasing gift certificates.

Points earned while placing an order cannot be used on that order, they will be added to your account on order completion.

If you are not logged into your account when placing an order, you will not receive points on that order.

Uniko has the right to ban or restrict account holders from earning or redeeming points if Uniko deems the user/account holder to be abusing the system.

So with all the new changes and adding the system, unfortunately I haven’t been able to ‘bulk’ transfer across customer accounts. As this could be an inconvenience to you or if you have problems setting up a new account I am able to set up accounts individually. You can login or register an account HERE.

If you require me to set your account up, simply email me at beverley@unikostudio.com with a USERNAME you would like to use (this cannot be changed once the account is set up) and an EMAIL address you want associated with the account.

If you have ordered from Uniko over the past 2 weeks you will have noticed I have changed the stamp set inlays to co-ordinate with our new fresh look. I will be providing a downloadable file containing ALL the new inlays for you to be able to print at home if you would like all your Uniko clear stamps to look the same. Especially if you are a little OCD like me 😉 This will be available in the next week or so.

Anyway, I think that is all I have to share for now about the website 😉 be sure to have a look about.

I do have a card to share too…

This is one of the cards the class made at The Paperlane on saturday, we did some die cutting techniques mixed with ‘spotlight’ stamping. This card was also inspired and a CASE of THIS card by DT member Sarah P.

I decided to use turquoise, instead of the gold like on Sarah’s card and change the orientation and die cut mounted layer. Below is a close up of the detail…

I have another 2 classes coming up on July 11th at The Paperlane, which is also Uniko Release Day. We will be using the new products in the class, so if you fancy trying the sets out before you by be sure to secure your place in the class by emailing Caz, caz3410@gmail.com

Ok, that’s all from me today, I had best go and get some work done whilst the beans are still napping! Thanks for stopping by today 🙂

Supplies: Card Stock: SU! Pumpkin Pie, White (HobbyCraft). Ink: Memento Luxe Rose Bud & Morocco, VersaMagic Turquoise Gem & Mango Madness. Stamps: Uniko Flower Power #7 and All Occasion Sentiments #3. Accessories: Papertrey Ink Frame Die, Mama Elephant ‘hello’ die, SU! Glitter

June 2015 Design Team Blog Hop, GIVEAWAY & NEWS!

Hey!

I’m SO happy you’ve stopped by the blog today as today is the June 2015 Design Team Blog Hop. Along with the hop and giveaway, I am also sharing lots of NEWS!! So be sure to grab a drink, get comfy, relax and enjoy!

As we’ve quite a few new followers here, (“Hello & Thank you”) I will explain what’s going on! Here at Uniko I currently only release new products every other month. This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know ‘some’ are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you’re not tempted to splurge too much every month.

The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing. Alongside that I am a full time mum to 9 month old twin boys! So releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well…just about!

So, on the in-between release months the Design Team & I take a look back at a previously released product, dust it off and give it some love! This month I decided to dust off the previously released Pure Florals: Gerbera…

Along with this set being the TOP selling product here at Uniko 😉 I thought it would be nice for some lovely Summer floral cards (though this is the kind of flower that can be used all year round too.

Here are a couple of my ‘old faves’ using the set…

Unfortunately I haven’t had time to create a new project due to reasons below, but I know the DT will make up for my tardiness!

Before I get to the Design Team Blog Hop, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the newest member of the Design Team. I am super honoured and happy to introduce you to…

Jane Taylor from Purplejet Loves Crafts

Now for some AWESOME projects from the Design Team using Pure Florals: Gerbera. The GIVEAWAY… Simply comment along the hop for your chance to win the featured set or a eGift Certificate code to the same value if you already own the set.

PHEW! I think that is all I have to share with you today, please bear with me whilst I iron out any kinks with the new website. I will also be sharing more information on the new product packaging over the next day or so and other bits & pieces too!
