Introducing… Simply Said Blocks II and Natures Treasures II Stencil & Mask

Hey!

Welcome to the first day of the May 2018 Release product introductions. This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team and our Guest Designer for May Anna have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days 🙂

Today we are introducing 2 products. Simply Said Blocks II a mini clear stamp set with additional popular sentiments in the same style as Simply Said Blocks. And we are ‘officially’ introducing Natures Treasures II Stencil. This stencil was part of the Uniko Stamping Retreat goody bag in Dec 2017. It has proven popular with those that attended, myself and some of the DT, that it was time it was made available to everyone 🙂

Hopefully you have hopped on by from our lovely Guest Designer, Anna’s blog HERE.

How about a bit more inspiration?! I’ve a couple of cards to share using a combination of the Natures Treasures II Stencil and sentiments from Simply Said Blocks II and a sneak peek of some others from another clear stamp set we will be introducing next week 😉

IntroNT2stencil2

I thought I’d start off with a super CAS card and a bit of partial fussy cutting! For this card I began with a 10.5 x 12 cm piece of white card. I stamped the sentiment from a clear stamp set we are introducing in a couple of days called Just Because first, so that I could then position and ink the leaf.

IntroNTstencil2a

I used a trio of Distress Oxides to do this, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry. I then drew a soft pencil line where I wanted to cut straight and then went ahead and fussy cut it out. This panel is then adhered to my base card using 1mm thick foam adhesive.

For my next card I channeled my inner Laura Bassen, to create this rainbow card.

IntroNT2stencil3

Again I used Distress Oxides and simply worked across from Picked Raspberry down to Wilted Violet. The sentiment is a combination from Simply Said Blocks II and Just Because.

IntroNT2stencil3a

That’s all I have to share with you for today, but there is LOADS more inspiration from my awesome Design Team. Be sure to hop along and leave some love along the way 🙂

One Layer Stencil Fun!

Hey & Happy Monday!

I do hope your week has begun well? Mine started well, but then took an unplanned turn when Bean no.2 came out in the chicken pox spots. Second time round and it still surprised me as to how suddenly and quickly they begin to appear from nowhere! Luckily my in laws are back from their holiday this week and were able to help look after him while I took Bean no.1 to nursery. It still meant little time for work and what not, but it meant that we were not all stuck inside again.

I am happy that yesterday I managed to make a couple of cards, the first of which I am sharing today…

UnikoOLstencil1

I still had my Fun Flowers Stencil out on my desk from when I made my cards for the Uniko March 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway HERE. And I had been wanting to join in on the current “Less is More” one layer challenge HERE, which is to use stencils, perfect combo!

367 Stencils

I needed a little more of a mojo boost and mooched around my ‘go to’ challenges for a colour combo and thought the Color Throwdown challenge HERE looked fun, so gave it a whirl too!

swatch485

Plus to mix it up a little and as 3 is my favourite number I decided to join in on the AAA cards challenge fun HERE too, which is to use 1/3 of your card.

#111

With all that I managed to keep it all clean & simple! I used Altenew Rouge ink as my closest match to a peach colour, applied it through my Fun Flowers Stencil which I kept to the lower third of my one layer card. Then added the Simply Said Blocks happy birthday sentiment.

UnikoOLstencil1a

Ok, that’s all from me today. I think it’ll be another early night for this mummy after the Spring forward with the clocks and a poorly bean, it could be a night of little sleep, fingers crossed it isn’t! Until later in the week, thanks for stopping by today 🙂

Design Team Inspiration – Stencil Sunday!

Hey!

Today I am welcoming back Sarah G from Funky Fossil Designs back to the Uniko Design Team and family!

Sarah decided to step down from the DT a while back, but after introducing the NEW Uniko Stencils, I managed to persuade her to jump back on board to focus on and promote them specifically a little bit more – yay!

Sarah is over on the Uniko blogspot blog HERE with a some Design Team Inspiration, appropriately named Stencil Sunday. Below is a little peek at one of the projects Sarah is sharing, but be sure to head on over and see the full post, leave some love and be totally inspired to get your stencils out!

Doodle Flower Mix!

Whooohoo for Friday!

The first working week of the New Year is nearly over and The Beans return to nursery on Monday. Not that I haven’t enjoyed having them home and taking them out places, but it has cost a small fortune to keep them entertained and they like routine 😉

I seem to be able to make a card and blog every other day so far this year, wondering if I can keep it up! Todays card is one that I have wanted to make since the December Release, when I introduced the new Stencil Doodle Flower. I wanted to show an example of how it could be combined with the previously released Background Blocks: Doodle Flower.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1

The new sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! HERE and seen below seemed to be the perfect fit for using the stencil and 3 of the doodle flowers from the Background Blocks: Doodle Flower.

CTS_253

I started by using the lower section of the 6″ x 6″ Doodle Flower Stencil and applying Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers. I then stamped the Background Blocks: Doodle Flower and fussy cut 3 of the flowers before colouring them with Prismacolor pencils.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1b

The sentiment is from the December Release Freebie, So Much. There are still a few of these freebies left, which are added to qualifying orders of £20 or more before postage costs and after any discounts have been applied!

DoodleFlowerThankyou1a

The fussy cut flowers are adhered to the one layer card using double sided tape and I added a Stampin’ Up! enamel heart and dots to the centres for a little added interest.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1c

That’s all I have to share for today, but I hope I have inspired you a little?! If you want some more inspiration using the Doodle Flower Stencil, be sure to head on over to DT Member Rahmat’s blog HERE and HERE. Rahmat has been having fun with the December Release goodies now she has her hands on them!!

Thanks for stopping by today 🙂

Today myself and my awesome Design Team  are introducing 3 NEW Uniko Stencil Designs, Broken Lines, Doodle Flower & Lattice. Be sure to head on over HERE to the start of the hop, if you didn’t come from there already! I’ve shared 3 cards using the new stencils along with some peeks at other clear stamps being released 😉
How about a little more inspiration?!
DoodleFlower2
First up is a card using the Doodle Flower stencil and my first attempt at using Glitter Paste! I’ve used Imagination Crafts Old Rose Sparkle Medium. It was fairly easy to use, but still think I need a little more practice!
DoodleFlower2a
Next is another card using the Lattice stencil…
Lattice2
On this card I created a rectangle negative mask and stencilled the lattice design inside. I used Broken China Distress Oxide ink. The card is then embellished with a floral bouquet and sentiment from the December Release FREEBIE, more about this on Friday!

That’s all from me here today, but be sure to hop around the Design Team blogs and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

November 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!! For those of you who are new around these parts I will explain what this post is all about…

Here at Uniko HQ it is just myself behind the screen, blogging, designing, packaging stamps & orders through the Uniko online shop, customer service and all the things in between. I *usually* release new product every other month for a number of reasons, but mainly so I can keep up with everything!
On non – release months like this month I like to set myself and the Design Team a challenge to look back at a previously released product and give it some more love.
Usually I choose a product that was released the previous year or a once favourite that hasn’t seen much air time! This month however, I decided to look back at a few products Uniko released in October 2017 HERE.

Specifically the Uniko Designer Dies and NEW Uniko Stencils…

Designer Die Snowflake Trio £15, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Designer Dies Flower Power #1 – #6 Collection £12, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Uniko Stencil Scattered Polka Dots £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Uniko Stencil Wonky Stripes £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

So, I have a little trio of cards to share with you today using some of these products. I was hoping to have more than three projects, but my plans were foiled yesterday by a poorly bean with a high temp, which consequently meant no nursery and no free time for this mummy! Hopefully what I do have to share will inspire you?!

First up a snowflake card…

UnikoNov17BH2

For this card I was inspired by this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. The angled section on the sketch made me instantly think of the Wonky Stripes stencil.

FMS Final 312-001

I reached for my newest Altenew Shades Of Purple inks and masked off a section of the stencil before pouncing the ink onto my card base from lightest to darkest to match the lower left angled section of the sketch.

UnikoNov17BH2a

The snowflake is the medium size of the trio and after die cutting from white card I then applied Lavender Fields ink and then applied a sparkly covering of Stampin’ Up! glitter 😉 The sentiment is from Simply Said II.

Next I wanted to give the new Flower Power 1 – 6 Collection of dies some love…

UnikoNov17BH1

Firstly I decided to reach for Flower Power #4 one of the flowers I tend to neglect 🙁 I decided to create a cascade effect of all the elements contained in the set, reaching for my trusty colour combination to inspire me. With it being the season of thanks I used a sentiment from Flower Power #3.

UnikoNov17BH1b

All the stamps in this series are designed to coordinate and mix and match with one another to help stretch your supplies and provide you with more creative options.

UnikoNovBH1c

Lastly, I reached for one of my favourites, Flower Power #2. This flower is inspired by Cherry Blossom and as I have been designing Spring themed clear stamps in the studio I was inspired to use this flower.

UnikoNovBH3

I stamped a subtle background using the ‘Just For You’ sentiment and layered my stamped and die cut flower over the top adhering with foam adhesive. I then decided to pair the ‘Happy Birthday’ from Simply Said Blocks.

UnikoNovBH3a

That’s all I have to share with you today, but I know the Design Team have a wealth of inspiration to share with you, prepare to be WOWED! Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win ALL the products being revisited. You have until Midnight (GMT) Saturday 18th November to comment and the winner will be announced Sunday 19th November 2017.

Happy Hopping!
