Introducing… Background Blocks Grid and Background Blocks Diagonal Stripe

 Hello & Happy Tuesday!

I am so glad you have popped by today as it is the first of the July 2021 Release product introductions. Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, the start of the hop.

Today myself and my awesome Brand Ambassadors have an inspiring blog hop and we are introducing Background Blocks Grid and Background Blocks Diagonal Stripe. I am delighted to be expanding this series of stamps with another couple of simple, but fun designs.

First up, let me introduce you to Background Blocks Diagonal Stripe…

For this card I used my stamping tool, masking and a rainbow of colours to get this fun effect. It was a little time consuming, but the results are fun. I couldn’t resist giving you a peek some other things being introduced later this week.

An addition to the Simply Said Blocks series and do you recognise the flowers?

Next up is an abstract kind of card using the Background Block Grid. This was another pretty time consuming design, but again I think it is super striking.

I randomly stamped the block on my base card and then I coloured in alternate squares to create a checkerboard / gingham pattern. I added the BIG & BOLD Happy die cut and another new Simply Said Blocks III sentiment.

That’s all I have to share today using these two new stamps, but there is so much more inspiration on the Brand Ambassador blogs. Be sure to hop along and leave a comment. I will be randomly selecting comments left in the lead up to Release Day on 25th July to win Uniko goodies!

I hope you pop back tomorrow for the next of the product introductions.

Introducing… Stencil Mixed Mini Geometrics

Hello & Happy Friday!

Welcome back to day 2 of the June 2021 Uniko Stencil Release.  If you missed the peeks and news about the release/s I shared Wednesday, be sure to catch up HERE and we also introduced the first stencil and next addition to the Pure Florals collection HERE.

Let me introduce you to the next stencil, Mixed Mini Geometrics…

This is a 6 x 6 inch stencil. It is exactly as its name states a mix of mini geometrics in a random design. Perfect for so many different projects from masculine to florals to focal points and more!

Let’s see how I’ve used it today…

First up I decided to use it as a colourful backdrop to the floral/foliage silhouette from Just Because.

I love the trend of mixing Geometrics with florals and I felt that the silhouette stamped in black would make a bold statement against a colourful Background. I love how this turned out and also loving the new Distress Oxide ink colour, Salvaged Patina!

For my second card today I kept with the floral / geometric mix, but I kept the geometrics a little more subtle…

I used a bit of masking to create the geometric border down the sides of my card base to frame the focal sentiment panel.

I used a sentiment from Wonderful Day and my MISTI to repeat stamp it down the panel which I have adhered using foam adhesive. I finished the card by accenting it with a bloom from the same Wonderful Day stamp set.

That’s all from me today! Be sure to hop along with the Brand Ambassadors for more inspiration and I do hope you will pop by tomorrow for the next introduction.

Introducing… Stencil Pure Florals Rose

Hello & Happy Thursday!

I am delighted you have stopped by today. Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, the start of the fun!

I am so excited to be bringing a Mini Uniko Stencil Release this month and today myself and the Uniko Brand Ambassadors get to show you the new stencils in action.

I’m over the moon to be adding these NEW Uniko Stencils to the growing collection. If you missed the peeks and news about the release/s I shared yesterday, be sure to catch up HERE.

Let me introduce you to the next in the Pure Florals collection, Stencil Pure Florals Rose…

This is a 6 x 6 inch stencil, so the bloom is beautifully large like the Chrysanthemum and the Gerbera. And like the others this stencil coordinates with the previously released and popular Pure Florals Rose clear stamp set.

I’ve had SO much fun ‘playing’ with stencils, trying out some mixed media techniques and still keeping a CAS feel with some of them. Like this first card…

For this I used a piece of water colour card. I found some postcard sized pieces, perfect for cards. The make is Langton and the weight is 140g, so nice and sturdy.

For this I started out with my stencil on my work space with the design on the opposite side to the direction I wanted the rose to face on my card.

I then used water based markers (I used Stampin’ Up! as I have a good mix of colours) to colour the lines of the stencil and around the outside. No need to be super perfect at this as once you’ve coloured it, you spritz lightly with water.

Before you place your water colour card over the top, you want to give that a light brushing of water to wet the card. This helps transfer the ink a little more.

The result is a beautiful watercolour outline rose, which was lovely, but I felt it needed a little more definition. I placed the clean and dry stencil over the top and used a fine liner to carefully draw inside the stencil. To finish I mounted the piece onto a dark smokey grey card base and added the congratulations sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II.

Lastly for today I had a play with another fun technique and this time I remembered to take some photos of the process 😉

Hello Distress Oxide inks, it’s been a while 😂 This is a shadow stencilling technique and depending on the stencil you use, it can be quite subtle like it has turned out with this design.

Step 1 – Kraft card base. I used a 13 x 13 cm square. Temporarily adhere your card to your work space and place the stencil where you want the design to be. Ink the design with white pigment ink until you are happy with the coverage.

Step 2 – Remove & clean the stencil. Once clean & dry reposition the stencil leaving a small border. I moved mine up by about 1mm and across to the right by 1mm.

Step 3 – Start applying your chosen colours.

I am using Distress Oxide inks in Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade & Mustard Seed. I chose DOI because I find them smoother to blend. Though for this stencil I use sponge daubers instead of a brush as the stencil has large areas with delicate stencil details that can move quite easily.

Apply the colours of ink until you are happy, and then remove the stencil.

Hopefully you can see the subtle white shadow border it leaves on the design.

I kept this card sentiment free and simply mounted the stencilled piece onto a pink and purple card base.

That’s all from me today! Be sure to hop along with the Brand Ambassadors for more inspiration and I do hope you will pop by tomorrow for the next introduction.

Art Deco Inspired Cosmos

Happy FRI-YAY!

I hope you are all well and enjoying the Spring sunshine today 🙂 I’ve been pottering in the studio today and now that I am all caught up on packing lovely orders and emails, I have a couple of cards to share with you.

With a bunch of clear stamp sets arriving in the studio this week, this card idea popped into my head while packing orders and I had to make it! I shared a peek at the first card over on Instagram yesterday.

I wanted to make a colourful card and without thinking what colours to use I just randomly selected a rainbow of colours. I used these to colour the Background Block Art Decoratifs.

I’ve also been seeing a lot of monochrome florals around social media and so I decided to keep the Pure Florals Cosmos like this. I fussy cut them out and popped them onto my card using 1mm thick foam adhesive. The sentiment is from Floral Vines.

This card then lead to this next idea where I have simply reversed my colouring.

I’ve kept the layout, stamps and sentiment all the same and just coloured the Pure Florals Cosmos in the rainbow of colours and I really like how it turned out.

As I said at the beginning of my post, lots of lovely and popular restocks arrived in the studio. These include the three stamp sets I have used today, along with Background Blocks Mid Century Modern, Background Builders Seeing Stars, Just Because and Simply Said Blocks II.

Thank you for popping by today.

Passiflora… Just For You

Happy Easter Monday!

I hope you have had a lovely holiday weekend, no matter how you celebrate. We have had a lovely relaxed one, enjoying the sunshine, getting some jobs done AND of course eating some chocolate!

Today, while everyone was busy playing and watching football, I snuck off to the studio to have a little creative time 😉

This weekend the Passiflora Clear Stamp set & Designer Die Bundle has been a super popular purchase. With the Spring discount code, it is a pretty good deal to pass up! This inspired me to get inky and creative and this is what I came up with.

I’ve wanted to pair up this beautiful Passion flower with the recently released Background Builders Delightful Diamonds for a while now. I have used the open diamond to create a trellis on my base card. The sentiment is from the popular Floral Vines clear stamp set, which should be back in stock again in the next week or so!

Before I go today and maybe squeeze in making one more card 😉 there is still time to take advantage of this discount code & offer! I’ve added a few upcoming restocks available on backorder too.

Here is my Spring inspired card…

I was inspired to dust off the So Much clear stamp set as it recently came back in stock. I would love to adorn my front door every season and Spring with a floral spray like this. But for today I am adorning this card!

As you can see I have gone for my usual CAS style and I wanted the soft base card colour too peek through a little more, so I simply fussy cut away the corner following the design of the image.

After colouring the image with Prismacolor pencils I added a sentiment from You Are, Yes You.

Super simple, but hopefully inspiring from me today! I will be back over the Easter weekend to announce some winners from various giveaways I have had on the blogs recently, so keep an eye out.

As it is long Easter Weekend here in the UK, I have a discount code & special loyalty points offer for you too.

Have a wonderful weekend & stay safe.

9th Birthday February 2021 Release in Review Brand Ambassador Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Happy Weekend!

I couldn’t help but stretch our 9th Birthday February 2021 Release celebrations on for a little longer! Now the Uniko Brand Ambassadors have their goodies we can have one last party and showcase these new clear stamps and stencil with a Release in Review Brand Ambassador Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE where I have introduced the hop and shared a little info. So how about I share a few cards that I have made using some of the new clear stamps…

First up is this card using Background Builders Delightful Diamonds paired with the silhouette from Happy Days. Originally I had planned to stamp the diamonds direct onto my base card, but I was having an off day with my stamping and it went array. So instead I fussy cut them out and adhered them to my card base with double sided tape instead!

Once I had created this trellis design I wanted to use a silhouette image. I have a couple in stamp sets, Just Because and Happy Days. I chose the one from Happy Days, but you will notice on my card the silhouette is taller.

I decided to get creative and tried stamping it on top of the first to make it taller and it worked. I love it when some ideas I have come off first time! I have then fussy cut the silhouette out, adhered with foam adhesive and added a simple ‘Hello’ sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.

This lead onto my next card, another using Background Builders Delightful Diamonds and another card I had planned out in my head.

This time I wanted to create a band of diamonds across the top of my card. I selected the outline style diamonds to stamp so that I could add some colour.

I’ve finished the card off by layering with black and raspberry pink card and also with a sentiment from Floral Vines. Two very different looking cards using the same stamp set.

Lastly for today I have a card using the popular Floral Vines stamp set which is now back in stock, though be quick as the stock level has dropped since they arrived back in!

I decided to jump on the slimline card band waggon, though the initial trend might be not as hot as it was, I don’t know! The design would have easily fit on a standard size card, but I do love the extra white space.

Here I have simply stamped the main image from Floral Vines, coloured with alcohol markers and added the birthday sentiment from the set. A really quick and simple card.

That’s all I have to share today using the stamps, but be sure to hop on along the Brand Ambassadors blogs to be inspired and WOWed by all the creativity.

Two For Tuesday – Beautiful Blooms II

Happy Tuesday!

I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things with The Beans back at school, a new health & fitness regime (more about this in a bit), Uniko open for business again – woohoo! and the usual mum/houeswife life juggle!

One thing I am making sure to do is, making time to be creative and at least make or at least start a card or project every day 🙂

Today I was inspired to dust off Beautiful Blooms II, it certainly has been a while since I used this cute little floral stamp set!

My inspiration for my cards today came from my friend Rebecca, who is a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and has a September challenge over on her Facebook Page HERE.

It was so fun to stamp these flowers again and very therapeutic fussy cutting them out! The grid background I have used is an old one from Stampin’ Up! I like it because of its grungy style. The sentiment is from Birthday Sentiments.

The top flower is adhered to the card flat using double sided tape and the middle and lower flower adhered using 1mm thick foam adhesive for a tiny bit of dimension.

And as it is Tuesday, I couldn’t stop at one card! I went on to make this second card.

The layout of my card was loosely based on a card I made previously with this clear stamp set. You can check out previous makes HERE on Pinterest.

The coral flower was stamped first and then I masked it to stamp the leaves and then all masked to stamp the grid pattern. The blue flower is adhered using foam adhesive again and the leaves tucked in at the side.

It’s been a glorious sunny day and the hours have flown by! It’s certainly good to be back in a groove and all being well I will have some NEW products to share soon 😉

That’s all from me today, thanks for stopping by!

Aloha!

Happy Monday 🙂

I finally got round to making a card at the weekend after surviving week 1 of the school holidays & rubbish weather. I think by the theme of my card, I am hoping that tropical weather is on its way to the NE of the UK soon!

It has been a while since I inked up the Large Background Topical Paradise and even though I am the slowest at colouring, it was nice to sit and relax a while and dream of being back in Hawaii all those years ago!

I used the hibiscus flower and Aloha sentiment from Paradise clear stamp set to embellish the card and adhered using my usual 1mm thick foam adhesive.

It’s a busy week here in the studio as the restocks I order will be arriving tomorrow – yay! I am also finalising the next release for the beginning of September, all being well.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and the weather improves here in the UK so we can enjoy getting out a bit more!

Thanks for stopping by & Crafty Hugs

Website Open For Orders – Uniko Style!

Hello.

Happy July & HAPPY re-opening for orders day!

I’ve been waiting for this day for months and finally, it is here and I am a bag of nerves waiting to see if the orders will roll in. It certainly has been and still is strange times, but it feels good to be getting back to some kind of normality.

The website is back open to accepting orders and I have decided to start with a twice week Post Office run to post your lovely orders. The days for posting orders will be Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

All orders will continue to be sent via First Class Mail in the UK and standard Airmail for Europe & International orders. Orders are not sent with tracking unless they are of £50 value or more. Please allow extra time for your order to reach you and you will receive an order complete email once your order has left the studio.

Please be assured that I am and have been taking the Covid 19 pandemic seriously here at Uniko HQ which is also our home. My work area is kept clean and regularly wiped down and I have been undertaking regular hand washing. We have adhered to all the lockdown regulations and have remained symptom free and have had no contact with anyone who has had symptoms of the virus.

To celebrate the reopening I made a card to share with you and it seemed apt to use my much loved Uniko Style clear stamp set.

I sought inspiration from the Uniko branding colours for my card and also the card I am sharing over HERE on the Uniko Blogspot Blog!

I started by stamping the small elements from the Uniko Style stamp set to create a border effect. I then stamped and fussy cut the Uniko Style layered blooms.

I’ve used the Altenew Sweet Dreams and Cherry Blossom ink collections for my colours and the sentiment is a current favourite from Hello Lovely and I finished the card off with some Nuvo Stone Drops in Lady Liberty.

It’s lovely to be back in business and I am looking forward to sharing more creativity with you soon! Be sure to hop on over to the WEBSITE and check out the SALE page for awesome all the awesome bargains I had on prior to lockdown!
