Ultraviolet Succulents!

Ultraviolet Succulents!

Hey!

Well, it looks like I tempted fate a little bit with saying how well I was doing with making a card and blogging every other day! It’s been quite a few days since I posted and mainly because I was hit with a chesty cold again, zero energy and two CRAZY beans back at nursery and ‘structured’ routine.

Anyway, I am back today with a card I’ve been making for a few days and finally finished today.

I was inspired by a couple of challenges when starting this card. Firstly the current challenge over at “Less is More” seen HERE and below. This fortnight their challenge is a colour challenge and they want to see purples. Which fits in wonderfully with Pantone’s colour of the year, Ultraviolet!

362 Purples

I have to say I am rather enjoying this years Pantone colour and it suits so many different styles and themes. I decided to use Happy Succulents as it was one of the Top 5 popular clear stamp sets in 2017 and I feel I didn’t give it as much love as it should have had 😉

The second challenge I was inspired by was the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below. I really like the clean lines and open space of the sketch, which lent itself wonderfully to using the large succulent cluster.

FMS Final 319-001

I used my trusty Prismacolor pencils to colour the succulents and I have to say it was very therapeutic colouring in and I did a little reverse dark to light shading on the succulent too, which I think has turned out pretty good!

The sentiment is from my current ‘go to’ set, Simply Said Blocks and both the succulent cluster and sentiment block are fussy cut and adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

That’s all I have to share for today, I had best be off as The Beans are due home any moment from Grandma & Grandad’s house fingers crossed they’ll have fallen asleep on the way! I’ll be back again before the week is over with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by.

Hugs

Absolutely gorgeous, Bev. Loving those vertical strips, so stylish. Polychromos were my ‘treat to myself’ last year. Might have to get some Prismas this year now! And this stamp set!
Thanks so much for sharing with us at Less is More, Anita x
