Introducing… BIG & BOLD Happy Clear Stamps & Designer Dies

Welcome to Day 1 of our 7th Birthday & February 2019 Release product introductions.

This is the fun part where myself, my guest designer and the design team get to show you LOTS of inspiration! You get to see all the sneak peeks I shared yesterday in action on cards & projects over the next few days leading up to 11th February, Release Day!

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, where I have introduced todays products a little and all the links to the blog hop.

Okay, now to some inspiration…

IntroB&Bhappy1b

I thought I would start off with this rainbow happy card. Just seeing the rainbow of colours sparks joy and happiness to me!

IntroB&Bhappy1a

This card uses just the BIG & BOLD Happy Designer Dies, I wanted to show how they can be used on their own. Though I have used some favourite colours and products too to make the dies shine!

I started out by masking a rectangle off on my base card. I then used Distress Inks & blended them together to create a nice rainbow that would flow from ‘H’ to ‘Y’. I then trimmed a top layer of white card to fit inside the base card with a slight border around the edge and die cut the ‘happy shadow’ to create a window to see the rainbow of colours.

IntroB&Bhappy1c

This die cut window panel is adhered to the card base using foam adhesive. I then die cut the ‘happy’ word & adhered it direct to my card base inside the window. Hopefully you can see the dimensions of the window & word in the photo above.

The card is finished with lots of yummy Nuvo drops to match the rainbow. I decided to keep the front of the card sentiment free and will add a follow on sentiment inside the card for the occasion it is sent out for.

For my next card I used mainly the clear stamp set…

IntroB&Bhappy2

This is almost a one layer card, it is just the raised ‘Oh’ and ‘Day’ which makes it a two layer card. It is also a little less CAS for me & I nearly didn’t show it here today because of that!

Anyway, I did (sorry if you don’t like it) and here is how I made it. I started out by creating a window mask out of printer paper to lay over my base card & ink blend through. This time I used Distress Oxide inks in Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade & Fossilised Amber.

IntroB&Bhappy2a

Once my ink blending had dried, I used my MISTI stamping tool to stamp the large happy inside the ink blended shadow & heat embossed with Stardust EP. I stamped the confetti spray around the happy, which I inked up in a trio of the colours I used to ink blend with. I then added a trio of circle accents from the clear stamp set in black and the smaller sentiments. These are stamped & embossed with detail white EP onto black card and adhered using foam adhesive.

I have one last card to share with you today using these products, this time I went back to my usual CAS style…

IntroB&Bhappy3

This one again mainly uses the dies as I was having so much fun with them! I tried my hand at the inlaid die cutting technique and added in colourful stripes for a little more interest. I actually made 2 cards with this technique, but I will share the other one with you on release day!

I started by adhering 1 cm strips of left over coloured card to a thin white piece of card using double sided tape & glue adhesive. I then die cut the word happy. I’ve then created a base card and panel like my first card at the top of the post.

IntroB&Bhappy3a

Before adhering my white card panel to the card base using double sided tape I die cut the happy from this too, setting aside the die cut & the inner pieces aside. The striped die cut is adhered inside the die cut window and then I added the white inner die cuts to fill in the gaps. Added the birthday sentiment and a trio Nuvo Drops to finish.

That’s all I have to share today using these products, but I know Ruth our Guest Designer this month along with the Design Team have SO much more to share with you.

Hop on by to see what Ruth has created HERE.

Also, don’t forget the enter the HUGE giveaway over HERE to WIN Stamps For A Year! If you need help entering the giveaway as you don’t have a blog or social media to link, send me an email and I will assist you 🙂

7th Birthday & February Release Sneak Peeks

Woohoo!

It is finally time to share the ‘official’ sneak peeks for the 7th Birthday February Release! With so much FUN & excitement already, it has been hard to keep these till now & you might have already spotted LOTS of peeks at the new products being released around social media AND over on the website blog!
Anyway, this month I have 6 new clear stamp sets, 2 designer die collections AND 1 stencil design being released on February 11th at 9pm GMT.

Let’s have a look at the peeks…

Do you recognise this font? Did you see the Guest Designer card I made for “Less is More” which I shared HERE!

Yep, it is the next addition to the BIG & BOLD series AND to top it off rather nicely this clear stamp set has a collection of coordinating Designer Dies – WOOHOO!!

Next I have a peek at a new sentiment clear stamp set…

When I design for releases I often look at what is missing from the Uniko inventory and what I would use and need as a stamper & card maker! I was missing sentiments that could be used inside my cards as well as on the outside, so here it is!

You know I can’t resist a new floral set! So here is my modern take on the Passiflora (Passion Flower) AND this clear stamp set also has a collection of coordinating Designer Dies – YAY!

Lastly for the clear stamps in this release I have 2 new designs to add to the growing Background Blocks series…

BUT, wait…. that is only 5 sneak peek pics, where is the 6th I hear you ask?!

Well, I am keeping the 6th under wraps a little longer! You will have to keep an eye out during the introductions for its ‘formal’ introduction and the reason for keeping it ‘secret’ for a little longer 😉

And lastly, but by no means least I have a new stencil design…

That is all the sneak peeks for this release, which means tomorrow the FUN starts!! Myself, our Guest Designer Ruth & the Design Team will be back to start the product introductions with lots of inspiration.

I’d LOVE to know what you are most excited to see in this line up of products and what your favourite is!

Win Stamps For A Year! DON’T FORGET to enter the HUGE prize giveaway on THIS post too!

Thank you so much for stopping by today & I do hope you will come back & see what these sneak peeks can do?!

“Less is More” Birthday Challenge Guest Designer

Hello & Happy Weekend!

I am here bright and early this morning to tell you that Uniko is super happy and proud to be sponsoring “Less is More” again. This month they are also celebrating their 8th Birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY “Less is More”!

cue card 8th birthday

This fortnight the theme is…

388 Colour Navy Yellow

As you may be aware, February is also Uniko’s Birthday month and we have an upcoming release (Feb 11th) too! I’ve had my hands on the release goodies for a few weeks now and I can’t stop playing with them 😉

I couldn’t resist using one of the NEW products on my card…

UnikoLIMguest

This is a HUGE peek at a NEW clear stamp set & coordinating Designer Die collection, that we will officially be introducing on 6th February & will be available to purchase on 11th February 9pm GMT.

UnikoLIMguest1

Those who know Uniko products well, will know that this is the next in the BIG & BOLD series, BIG & BOLD Happy! Honestly, you won’t believe the fun I have had with the dies alone 😉

However, on my card today for “Less is More” I have combined both the stamps and just one of the dies in the collection. I used Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy and So Saffron for my colours to match the theme of Navy & Yellow. I thought some nice colour blocking was a good idea and also created a more masculine style card.

Here is one more view…

UnikoLIMguest2

Okay, that is all from me over here today, BUT be sure to check out a HUGE announcement over HERE at 9am AND be sure to head on over to the “Less is More” blog HERE and join in on the fun.

Uniko’s 7th Birthday Linky Party!

Woohoo!

It’s time for some celebrating! This month at Uniko we are celebrating our 7th Birthday and I am kicking the celebrations off today with a party!

It wouldn’t be a birthday celebration without a PARTY, right?

Now, the party starts over HERE and you can find LOTS of inspiration from my awesome team, the link up to add your entry AND of course all the prize info. There are SEVEN ways to win 😉

All you have to do is create a birthday card and add it to the linky! You don’t have to have a blog to enter, you can link your card from your Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or like with ALL Uniko Challenges you can email me your entry to add.

You don’t have to use Uniko products, but I’d LOVE to see you using your Uniko stash (including Uniko Digital Freebies) AND there is an extra opportunity to win a prize if you do 😉

Okay, enough chit chat, how about some inspiration…

UnikoBirthdayLinky1

I dusted off a couple of sets for this card, Background Builders: Seeing Stars and Balloon Bash. I used my MISTI tool to stamp both the diagonal ombre star stripes and the ombre balloon. I drew the ballon string with a fine liner as I wanted a nice crisp string! The sentiment is from Simply Said.

UnikoBirthdayLinky1a

The layout of my card was is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below. This is one of my favourite challenges to join in on when I can 🙂

Next I wanted to try out a new glimmer paste that arrived in the post, Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Moonstone. My goodness, this stuff is lush! Just look at the shine…

UnikoBirthdayLinky2

This time as I wanted to use the paste through a Uniko Stencil I used the Balloon Bash stencil. I started out with the round pink balloon and used Altenew Cherry Blossom collection inks to achieve the ombre effect.

UnikoBirthdayLinky2b

I then masked off the pink balloon to layer the larger balloon behind inked up in Altenew Sweet Dreams collection. I then went back and placed the stencil over the smaller round balloon to

FMS Final 373-001apply the glimmer paste. Now, usually I struggle with applying pastes on a large surface, but this stuff… this stuff glides on beautifully!

UnikoBirthdayLinky2a

This time I was inspired to join in on another favourite challenge, AAA Cards HERE and seen below. For this challenge they want you to use a third of your card (so leaving a third of your card with white space) & an optional twist of masking.#132

That’s all I have to share with you today, thanks for stopping by and joining in on the fun!

Lots of Happy!

Hey!

LOTS of happy arrived at Uniko HQ this week, which included a few clear stamp restocks Simply Said Blocks, Simply Said Blocks II, Sweet Baby, Reach For The Stars & Happy Succulents. When restocks arrive they always inspire me to ink them up again, so I set aside some time to create!

Today I thought I would share the card I made using Happy Succulents

LotsOfHappy

I’ve used the large succulent corner spray image for my main focal point and added one of the sentiment options contained in the set. Apart from the colouring, which didn’t take too long with my Prismacolor Pencils, this card came together pretty quick.

LotsOfHappy1

I used my MISTI tool to stamp the main image, as it is quite large it often takes a couple of stamps to get a crisp image.

LotsOfHappy2

I used one pink and three greens to colour the image and added some of my favourite Gloss White Nuvo Drops as an embellishment accent.

This clear stamp set is available on the website along with the others I listed at the top of the post. I hope this has added some cheer to your Sunday afternoon 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.

Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop!

Hey & welcome to the next stop on the…

Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop

I am delighted to be a part of this wonderful hop organised by the lovely Milka Gubo from Crafty Milka. January is Thyroid Awareness Month. 26 designers from all over the World joined together in this special blog hop which will last from January 5th until January 30th.

The aim of the hop is to support Thyroid Awareness Month and to raise public awareness of the importance of a Thyroid Gland and problems it can cause when not working properly.

We will be sharing our handmade projects featuring butterfly, butterflies and/or blue paisley pattern. Thyroid looks like butterfly and blue paisley patterned ribbon is a new symbol of Thyroid Awareness month, so it was our choice to incorporate these elements in our handmade projects.

46469299_10215769904453095_1090880006231425024_n

I felt this was a blog hop I really wanted to be part of for many reasons. Firstly I was a registered nurse for over 10 years. When I moved to the North East of the UK, I began a new path of looking after surgical patients and one of the surgical patients I looked after were those who had had Thyroid Surgery. I won’t go into detail, but they were a high level observation patient post operation, with many complications to look out for.

My second reason for wanting to take part is because a few of my close friends suffer from thyroid problems. This hop is just a small way of raising awareness and showing a little bit of love to those affected by it.

Here is the card I made to share with you all…

ThyroidBH

I decided to incorporate both the Paisley Pattern and the Butterfly elements, using Uniko’s Marvellous Mehndi and English Country Garden Butterflies clear stamps.

ThyroidBHa

The layout of my card is from the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge seen HERE and below. The sketch made it easy for me to combine all the colours and elements – love it when this happens!

I used Altenew inks for my shades of blue a the card stock is the new Stampin’ Up! In Colour Blueberry Bushel. I also used Stampin’ Up! Stitched Framelits dies to die cut the 2 sizes of squares.

ThyroidBHb

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you with my card. Be sure that you catch up on all the blog hop stops (if you haven’t already) that are listed at the end of this post.

Before I go I have a little GIVEAWAY…

Simply leave a comment on this blog post & I will choose a randomly selected winner to receive a £30 Uniko Prize Package! Winner will be announced the 10th February to give you plenty of time to share this giveaway with your crafty friends 😉

Guest Designer – Faye Wynn-Jones

Happy Hump Day!

I am super happy this Wednesday morning as I have the lovely Faye Wynn-Jones from Stamping Fluffnstuff, my amazing Guest Designer for January back on the blog with some more Copic coloured Pure Florals: Peony inspiration.

FayeWynnJonesCopicInstructorUK

I am sure many if not all of you know Faye, but without further ado, I will hand you over to Faye to introduce herself and her beautiful cards she has made to share with you today.

“Hi Everyone, I’m Faye and I’m addicted to Copics. (Choklit too, but ssshh, that’s a secret, we’ll keep it between us!) I’m the Copic endorsed Instructor for the UK and I also work closely with the European Copic Distributor and Instructors.

I’m wife, Mum and HuMummy to three (demanding) cats too. With all that going on, it’s not often I get to colour something for fun. So I was delighted when Bev asked me to Guest Design for her. I first came across Bev’s gor-geous stamps at a show last year and I have to tell you it was love at first sight. If you get to any of the shows Uniko exhibit at, you must stop by. The girls are so friendly and the stall is a real feast of inspiration and yummy goodies. You might even spot me in a corner drooling!”

fayewynnjones030119

I love colouring an image in monotone. It can be really easy to get caught up in what colours work with what. When you work only in grey, you take that away and can really focus on smooth blending and the light source. Once these things start to fall into place, it is much easier to work with colours and that’s what I did for my final card.

Uniko Challenge #51 – Anything Goes, optional twist Love

Hey!

Welcome to the January/February 2019 Uniko Challenge.

This is our first challenge of 2019 and we’ve chosen a really simple theme to ease you back in – Anything Goes. But for those of you that are already into the swing of 2019 challenges and would like more to get your teeth into we’ve added the optional twist of LOVE.

We have the amazingly talented and super creative Trina P joining us as out Guest Designer for this challenge. I’m sure you all know of her and are just as impressed by her cards as we are, but it’s always worth a visit to her blog to check out what’s she’s been up to.

Guest Designer – Trina P

Too cute!

I decided to go with the ‘Anything Goes’ part of the challenge, I’m not quite in the Valentine’s frame of mind! Plus, I treated myself to some new crafty goodies and wanted to give them a whirl with the idea I had formed in my head…

USC#51

One of the crafty products I bought was Nuvo Expanding Mousse. Wow, this stuff is fun! I tested out with the Pure Florals Chrysanthemum Stencil too & shared over on my Instagram stories.

For this card I have used it with the Scattered Polka Dot Stencil and this time I didn’t heat expand it. I love the flat shimmer finish it has just aired dried too. I bought the Mustard Seed colour and it is more like a vintage gold colour. I’ve used it on some Papertrey Ink Royal Velvet card stock.

USC#51a

I’ve paired it with Pure Florals Peony and a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks (back in stock next week). I wanted the stencil design to be seen, so I stamped and embossed the smaller Peony bloom onto vellum. I only have copper and gold embossing powders (ancient) and neither matched perfectly with the Nuvo Mousse, so I decided to go with more of a contrast and used the copper.

The layout of my card is based on this weeks Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below…

FMS Final 371-001

My talented team have some inspiration for you too, so be sure to head on over to their blogs and see what they’ve been up to.

January Non Release Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

Welcome to the first Non-Release Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY of 2019 – Whoohoo!!

Just like last January, I have given the Design Team a huge task of choosing to use their favourites from those released in 2018. Thats a total of 23 new clear stamp sets, 2 re-introduced clear stamp set, 14 stencil designs and 2 new designer die collections to choose from!

Even for me that is a tough task, singling out just one product. However, with my newest publication and feature in Making Cards & Papercraft magazine, I was drawn to Wonderful Day. Here’s how I used it…

UnikoJanBH1

Clean & Simple (CAS)  is my go to style and a challenge that enhances that style is a must to join in on. I Just love this weeks sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 370-001

I opted for a one layer card, this makes for easy mailing but also keeps things CAS too. The Wonderful Day clear stamp set has fabulous sentiments, but I decided to use one from Pure Florals: Peony. Once this was stamped I added in the floral detailing reflecting the sketch and added some simple marker colouring for that pop of rainbow. I also added my favourite White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to the centre of the flowers.

UnikoJanBH1a

Before I hand you over to my amazing team, I thought I would share a few photos of snippets from the magazine feature.

MACD-Pack-FB-Instagram-01-2019-1

This is my first feature with this magazine and so they asked for a little bit about me. A lovely write up and always delighted for people to get to know me a little better.

UnikoJanBH5

I think my love of Nuvo Drops came across in this feature and also my love of rainbow and favourite trio of colours 😉 If you want to get your mitts on the magazine it is available in UK leading supermarkets and can also be purchased via this link. You might just want to get a copy as their is a Uniko GIVEAWAY inside too!!

UnikoJanBH2

UnikoJanBH3

Okay, let’s see what the design team favourites are and how they have been inspired to use the products. Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win a Uniko £25 eGift Certificate. You have until Midnight (GMT) Saturday 19th January 2019 to comment, winner will be announced Sunday 20th 2019.

Wiebke

WOW! Wasn’t that a fun hop. It certainly looks like all the florals were a BIG hit with the Design Team.

I’d LOVE to know what your favourite product released in 2018 was, be sure to add it to the comments, I might just pick a random winner to win their favourite 😉
Thanks for joining in on the fun.

Hugs

Guest Designer – Faye Wynn-Jones

Happy Monday!

I am super happy this Monday morning to introduce you to Faye Wynn-Jones from Stamping Fluffnstuff, my amazing Guest Designer for January 🙂

FayeWynnJonesCopicInstructorUK

I am sure many if not all of you know Faye, but without further ado, I will hand you over to Faye to introduce herself and her beautiful cards she has made to share with you today.

fayewynnjones020119

I got to thinking about how I spend time colouring an image, sometimes, but not always, I create a background too. I wanted to see how it looked if I created a background and left the image ‘naked’. My plan was that the coloured background would make the image ‘pop’.

fayewynnjones020119a

On these two cards, I have coloured the backgrounds with Copics. For the pink card I added texture by applying Colourless Blender Various ink with a natural sponge. On the green card, I used the same process but I applied the Colourless Blender Various Ink with an old face cloth. After that, I splatted some ink across the backgrounds by flicking the Copic nib on the edge of the lid. You might want to think about putting something on your desk before you do that part!
