Introducing… BIG & BOLD Hugs and Large Background Scattered Polka Hearts

Hey!

Welcome back to day 3 of the countdown to the Uniko December Release.  This is the exciting bit where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

Today myself and my awesome Design Team  are introducing a couple of clear stamp sets, first up is another addition to the BIG & BOLD series, BIG & BOLD Hugs. The second product we are introducing today came about following the Large Background Scattered Polka Dots, which we introduced on Tuesday. This time I went for hearts, Large Background Scattered Polka Hearts!

IntroHugs2

For my first card today I have paired BIG & BOLD Hugs with the previously released Uniko Style flowers in a soft Spring colour palette.
IntroHugs2a
Next up is the Large Background: Scattered Polka Hearts…
LargeBackgroundSPH1
On this card you are getting a BIG preview of the clear stamp set being introduced tomorrow, but they do pair rather nicely together! The Large Background: Scattered Polka Hearts are simply stamped in Altenew Puffy Heart ink and then I die cut the rectangle panel using Lawn Fawn Small Dotted Rectangle dies.

That’s all from me here today, but be sure to hop around the Design Team blogs and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

Introducing… Spring Botanicals Snowdrop & Large Background Scattered Polka Dots

Hey!

Apologies for my lateness today and the poor photos, (I will update them in the morning!)

I was feeling poorly last night, heading to bed straight after the beans and currently my Tuesday & Wednesday schedules are all to pot at the moment. We are trialling The Beans on their own at nursery for a day each a week, that means I don’t get any free time during the day! As much as I love my Bean free time, it is also nice to spend time with each of them individually. Hopefully this will improve their choice to not talking 😉

Anyway, countdown to the Uniko December Release is well underway and today we have  the first of the product introductions. This is the exciting bit where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

Today myself and my awesome Design Team  are introducing a couple of clear stamp sets, first up is Spring Botanicals Snowdrop. This is the first spring flower in a mini series of stamps contained in this collection. This clear stamp set contains a beautiful Snowdrop image and some beautiful  quotes and sentiment stamps. The second product we are introducing today came about due to my love of the series of mini Background Blocks that I added to the Uniko clear stamp line up this year. This time I decided to go BIG and enlarge one of my favourite versatile stamps, Scattered Polka Dots!
If you missed the start of the Design Team blog hop & the first 2 cards I have made using these stamps, hop on over HERE.
For my card to share here, I decided to combine both Spring Botanicals Snowdrop & Large Background: Scattered Polka Dots…

IntroSnowdropPolkaDot

I started by stamping the snowdrops in VersaFine Onyx Black ink, creating a mask and then I over stamped the one layer card with the Large Background: Scattered Polka Dots in a trio of Altenew yellow inks to create an ombre effect. When I designed the background stamp, I made sure that it could be moved and lined up to easily stamp a larger background, which is what I did to cover the whole of my base card.

IntroSnowdropPolkaDot1a

After all the stamping I simply coloured the snowdrops with Prismacolor pencils and added a sentiment which is also from Spring Botanicals Snowdrop.

That’s all from me here today, but be sure to hop around the Design Team blogs and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

The weather here in the UK is cold and we have snow forecast for Sunday here in the NE (I’ll believe, it when I see it!) and so I thought I would combine my LOVE of snowflakes with the I LOVE Coffee cup!

Uniko2017winterCLBH1b

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I started by using a snowflake from Stunning Snowflakes and stamping it on the background in VersaMark Dazzle Frost and also the sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped in Altenew Pure Graphite ink.

I then stamped the coffee cup from I LOVE Coffee, coloured it with some NEW Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends and then heat embossed the same snowflake in white on top. After fussy cutting the cup out I have mounted it onto a large Designer Die Snowflake cut from some soft gold shimmer card.

Fabulous isn’t it? Be sure to pop on over to her blog HERE and leave her some love.

Here is how I decided to get my festive on…

USC#44

I’m absolutely loving the recently released Festive Sentiments clear stamp set, it has hardly left my desk since the release and mainly just to clean the stamps!

USC#44b

I wanted the sentiment to be the focus of the card and to appear to have a coloured shadow. It is a pretty simple technique, achieved by stamping the sentiment in a coloured ink, and then moving your card slightly down and to the side by literally a millimetre and stamping again in black ink.

I used my MISTI tool to place the sentiment and I made sure to slightly off centre it on my white card layer before stamping it in Island Indigo ink. I did practice a couple of times on scrap paper, to know how much to move my layer to achieve the shadow effect.

To finish the card off, I accented the sentiment with the holly berries and leaves from Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions and off centre layered my stamped layer with Island Indigo and Real Red card.

That’s all from me, but the Uniko Design team also have some Christmas inspiration to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs below to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too 😉

25 Days Of Christmas Tags – Day 21!

Hey!

I’m super happy you’ve popped by today as here at Uniko we are super excited to be part of a wonderful festive event…

25Days2015

This is the 7th year the lovely and creative Tracey McNeely  from In My Creative Opinion has organised this fun and festive event to spread Christmas Cheer.

Uniko are honoured to be one of the 25 sponsors of the event and to be taking part 🙂

Sponsors 2017

Myself and the Uniko Design Team have got our festive on and created some Christmas Tags to share with you, so let’s get to the inspiration!

23755199_10210420267200918_8743181802428637073_n

First up I decided to go a little ‘Traditional’ with a classic red, white and gold combo. I don’t think Festive Sentiments has left my desk since it was released last month!

I dusted off one of my all time favourite Papertrey Ink Tag Sale dies, this is No.5 I love the curved top and the notched bottom of this tag shape and it as a good size, not too big, but not too small!

25DaysChristmasTags1a

So for this tag I simply die cut the tag from Stampin’ Up! Real Red card, stamped my sentiment from Festive Sentiments in VersaMark and heat embossed in Gold EP. I added a Soft Stone satin ribbon tail, secured with some Stampin’ Up! bakers twine.

Next, I couldn’t resist a snowflake tag!

25DaysChristmasTags2

I am loving having the Uniko Designer Die Snowflake Trio back in the inventory, I sure have missed using these beauties!

I fairly recently purchased some Stampin’ Up! Mini Pizza Boxes to use as gift packaging this Christmas and I thought it was the perfect size to dress up using a not so recent Stampin’ Up! purchase of the Cheerful Tags dies! I think these are now retired.

There are 2 tags in the set of Cheerful Tags dies and the one I have used has handy ribbon threading holes at the top and bottom of the tag. The tag does come with a back, but I didn’t need it and wanted my tag to be completely flat against the lid of the box.

25DaysChristmasTags2a

I didn’t want a design that would take too much focus off the sparkly medium snowflake, but I really wanted to pair it with the recently released Uniko Wonky Stripes Stencil! So, I opted for a soft Altenew grey ink (Silver Stone) to ink the stencil design onto the tag shape. I then simply adhered the tag over the top using foam adhesive. The ribbon is another favourite of mine, Hawaiian Shores from Papertrey Ink.

I had planned to make SO many different tags using Uniko’s festive clear stamps, but time was not on my side! Hopefully I will get to make and share these before the end of the event!

Anyway, the Uniko Design Team have some festive inspiration to share with you too, be sure to stop by their blogs (links below) and leave some love!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!

Hey & Happy Friday!

I thought I would pop by today and share a super quick card I have made whilst the beans are at nursery. I realised on dropping them off today that it is their nursery assistant’s last day and is leaving for maternity leave.

Unprepared as ever, I thought about what I was going to make for a mummy to be who I don’t know that well and who has decided not to find out the gender of their baby to be.

Here’s what I cam up with…

TwinkleTwinkle

I still had Background Builders: Seeing Stars on my desk from making my CAS Colours & Sketches DT card HERE yesterday, so I decided to pair the smaller stars in the set with the ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ sentiment from Reach For The Stars.

TwinkleTwinkle1

I kept the layout really simple and having treat myself to the Altenew Warm & Cozy ink collection earlier in the week, I decided to use those and a yellow card base for a gender neutral colour scheme.

That’s all I have to share for today, I had better dash and go collect The Beans from nursery. Thank goodness it’s Friday and hopefully I will find some time to create and relax over the weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs

November 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!! For those of you who are new around these parts I will explain what this post is all about…

Here at Uniko HQ it is just myself behind the screen, blogging, designing, packaging stamps & orders through the Uniko online shop, customer service and all the things in between. I *usually* release new product every other month for a number of reasons, but mainly so I can keep up with everything!
On non – release months like this month I like to set myself and the Design Team a challenge to look back at a previously released product and give it some more love.
Usually I choose a product that was released the previous year or a once favourite that hasn’t seen much air time! This month however, I decided to look back at a few products Uniko released in October 2017 HERE.

Specifically the Uniko Designer Dies and NEW Uniko Stencils…

Designer Die Snowflake Trio £15, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Designer Dies Flower Power #1 – #6 Collection £12, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Uniko Stencil Scattered Polka Dots £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

Uniko Stencil Wonky Stripes £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2017

So, I have a little trio of cards to share with you today using some of these products. I was hoping to have more than three projects, but my plans were foiled yesterday by a poorly bean with a high temp, which consequently meant no nursery and no free time for this mummy! Hopefully what I do have to share will inspire you?!

First up a snowflake card…

UnikoNov17BH2

For this card I was inspired by this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. The angled section on the sketch made me instantly think of the Wonky Stripes stencil.

FMS Final 312-001

I reached for my newest Altenew Shades Of Purple inks and masked off a section of the stencil before pouncing the ink onto my card base from lightest to darkest to match the lower left angled section of the sketch.

UnikoNov17BH2a

The snowflake is the medium size of the trio and after die cutting from white card I then applied Lavender Fields ink and then applied a sparkly covering of Stampin’ Up! glitter 😉 The sentiment is from Simply Said II.

Next I wanted to give the new Flower Power 1 – 6 Collection of dies some love…

UnikoNov17BH1

Firstly I decided to reach for Flower Power #4 one of the flowers I tend to neglect 🙁 I decided to create a cascade effect of all the elements contained in the set, reaching for my trusty colour combination to inspire me. With it being the season of thanks I used a sentiment from Flower Power #3.

UnikoNov17BH1b

All the stamps in this series are designed to coordinate and mix and match with one another to help stretch your supplies and provide you with more creative options.

UnikoNovBH1c

Lastly, I reached for one of my favourites, Flower Power #2. This flower is inspired by Cherry Blossom and as I have been designing Spring themed clear stamps in the studio I was inspired to use this flower.

UnikoNovBH3

I stamped a subtle background using the ‘Just For You’ sentiment and layered my stamped and die cut flower over the top adhering with foam adhesive. I then decided to pair the ‘Happy Birthday’ from Simply Said Blocks.

UnikoNovBH3a

That’s all I have to share with you today, but I know the Design Team have a wealth of inspiration to share with you, prepare to be WOWED! Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win ALL the products being revisited. You have until Midnight (GMT) Saturday 18th November to comment and the winner will be announced Sunday 19th November 2017.

Happy Hopping!

Uniko Stamping Retreat!

Hey & Happy Monday!

If you follow Uniko on social media or subscribe to the newsletter, you might have seen my advert for the Uniko Stamping Retreat?!

I thought I’d pop by and share a little about the day here too 😉

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

It has taken me a while, but I have finally found the perfection location to hold Uniko events like this Stamping Retreat!

I wanted somewhere which was close to where I live in the North East of the UK, not too big and not too small. I wanted somewhere with character and the ability to adapt to the requirements of my ideals for Uniko events. Then one day my close friend who I have got to know though having the beans and hosting play dates told me about one of her new adventures with her husband and a couple of friends and a venue their are hiring out, literally 20 minutes away from where I live. I knew of it straight away and had no doubt that it was perfect!

The Station House at Wynyard Woodlands Park…

Set in a beautiful woodland park is this old station house, which most recently was a visitor centre. As you walk in you are greeted with a space filled with character and warmth. With a spaces perfect for a hive of creativity.

I am so excited to be holding the first Uniko Stamping Retreat on Saturday 9th December 2017 10am – 4pm at this venue!

Why is it called a Stamping Retreat? I hear you ask!

Simply because the focus of the day is on stamping with Uniko clear stamps and retreating to this wonderful location!

I didn’t want to call it a class, as that sounds to formal. The day is about being relaxed and enjoying the creative process. Whether you are an expert stamper/crafter, beginner or somewhere in between, this is the day for you.

What is involved/included?

If you ever attended one of my previous ‘classes’ at The Paperlane in Northallerton, the overall structure is similar, but I have added in some NEW things too 😉

I will be designing a collection of cards using the NEW Uniko December Release, which is based around Spring & Florals. You will receive a ‘kit’ that will contain all the instructions and materials to make 5 – 6 cards throughout the day at your own pace. I will be there to help and guide individuals as needed and I will demonstrate any techniques to the whole group at the beginning of the day.

Along with the kit there will be two individual project / technique stations for each of you to take turns, have a go and make during the day. For December these will be…

* A stencilling technique station. You will get to have a ‘play’ with some new Uniko Stencil Designs and make a card using them!

* A small MDF stamped hanging decoration.

Along with all this you will receive a Uniko Goodie Tote Bag! This will contain a FREE clear stamp set from the December Release and a few other goodies. The total worth of this goodie bag will be £10 😉

There will be optional kit purchases available, clean and simple Christmas cards using the recent Uniko October Release and a kit based on the Uniko September Release. These will be priced at £5 each.

There will also be a Uniko pop up shop of all the items available on the Uniko website! You will receive 10% off any purchases made during the day!

Does this sound FUN or what?! I can hardly wait 😉 I do hope that some of you will be able to come and enjoy this day with myself and Uniko!

For more details and to book your place pop on over HERE to the website.

Hugs

Feeling Festive!

Hey!

I can’t believe how quickly these days, weeks and months are passing by! My apologies for my lack in creativity and inspiration these past couple of weeks, it took me a little to catch up on everything post Stamping Shows and October Release!

Plus last week the beans were on half term from nursery and I spent some quality time with them and we had some fun muddy adventures 🙂 In the short space of time they have been going to nursery, I had forgotten how little time and energy have, once they are in bed! Lol!

Anyway, I am back tonight to share a couple more cards using the recent October Release…

MerryChristmasSnowflakes{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I love angled panels and this is a card layout I have used a few times over the years and funnily one that I’ve used for a few previous Christmas designs!

I couldn’t resist using the layout to show off the Background Blocks: Falling Snowflakes, stamped and heat embossed in white onto Stampin’ Up! Old Olive card. The sentiment from Festive Sentiments is stamped in matching Old Olive ink and I have used my MISTI tool to then stamp the ‘Christmas’ in VersaMark ink to be able to heat emboss with Crystal EP.

MerryChristmasSnowflakes1

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

Next I decided to focus primarily on the Festive Sentiments clear stamp set and paired it with some fun watercolour splattering…

MerrySplatter

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

This was so quick and fun to make, that I can see myself using this design as a mass produceable one for this years Christmas cards! The sentiment is simply heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Detail True White EP onto a stitched square die cut.

MerrySplatter1

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

After adhering the sentiment panel to the card base using half thickness foam adhesive I then got to splattering the card with my Gansai Tambi Starry Watercolours.

That’s all I have to share tonight, but I will be back again tomorrow with another card to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by 🙂
