How about some inspiration using a few of the new products…

FebRD1
It probably isn’t a surprise to anyone that has been following the release celebrations that the new Kindness Blooms clear stamp set is a new favourite of mine 😉 The ideas using this new loopy bloom have been free flowing!
For this first card I decided to pair both sizes of the loopy bloom with the Large Background Scattered Polka Dots, which I have stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed in detail white embossing powder.
FebRD1b
The sentiment is just one of the mix and match possibilities contained in the mini clear stamp set and I have stamped it onto a strip of white card and adhered it to the card base using foam adhesive. I’ve finished the design off with some new Stampin’ Up! self adhesive sequins.
FebRD1a
For my next card I decided to create a more masculine style card using Kindness Blooms paired with the new Birthday Sentiments clear stamp set…
FebRd2
As you can see I used the stamen burst stamp and the small polka dot from Kindness Blooms and simply by using primary colours and keeping the design CAS I have achieved a masculine look.
FebRD2a
I wish I had more to share using the other new products being released, but creative time has been limited 🙁 I will be sharing more over the coming days though using all of the new products.
However, I know that the Design Team have been super busy and much more creative than me and have a wealth of inspiration using all of the new products to share with you!

Be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win the ENTIRE Release!! You have until Midnight (GMT) Saturday 10th March 2018 to comment and the winner will be announced Sunday 11th March 2018.

Happy Hopping!

Introducing… Kindness Blooms & Uniko Stencil Fun Flowers

Hey!

Welcome back to the final day of the product introductions! This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

What a FUN 4 days it has been! If you’ve missed any of the introductions you can catch up HEREHEREHERE and HERE.

Today the Design Team and I are here to introduce the last floral products, Kindness Blooms clear stamp set and Fun Flowers Stencil.

I think I have yet again saved a new favourite until last 😉 I just can’t seem to stop using the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set! This set contains a fun doodle style flower in 2 sizes, some fun flower accents and kindness mix and match sentiments.
IntroKindnessBlooms1
For my first card today I have only used the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set, but due to the technique I used and showed HERE, a few at the Uniko Stamping Retreat on Saturday thought that I had used the same technique on the Large Scattered Polka Dot BG. However, I have used the single polka dot that comes in the Kindness Blooms set and simply randomly stamped it in a rainbow of Altenew ink colours.
IntroKindnessBlooms1a

The kraft card stock layer is adhered to the rainbow background using foam adhesive and the sentiment is just one of the options available.

Next I was inspired by a Mid Century Modern pattern design that I had come across on Pinterest HERE

IntroKindnessBlooms2

This was a sheer accident! I had not consciously thought about this when designing the set, but the happy coincidence and results are super fun 🙂

IntroKindnessBlooms2a

That’s all I have to share using Kindness Blooms today and I will be sharing a card using the Fun Flowers stencil over HERE at 1pm GMT for my CAS Colours & Sketches DT post 😉

Again it’s a hop full of wonderful inspiration and techniques, I can’t wait to read how they’ve created all their samples! So get comfy, grab a drink and be sure to hop around all the Design Team blogs for a TON of inspiration and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

Introducing… Life is a Song, Background Blocks Equaliser & Uniko Stencil Equaliser

Hey!

Welcome back to day four of the product introductions. This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

So far we have had 3 wonderful days of inspiration and creativity introducing 4 of the new products being released. If you missed the fun you can catch up HERE, HERE and HERE.

Today the Design Team and I are here to introduce 2 more clear stamp sets and 1 more of the new Uniko Stencils coming on the 28th February. The products today all have a music theme.

I’ve been stretched for time and hampered by bugs and a migraine yesterday, so only have the one sample to show you (sorry to those at The Stamping Retreat who’ve seen this) today & my apologies for being late too 🙁

IntroEquaiser1

I’ve used the Background Block Equaliser to create this rainbow card 🙂 I used my MISTI tool to stamp the block in Versamark ink and then rotated my card round and stamped the image again to achieve a reflected image. I then heat embossed with detail white embossing powder.

IntroEqualiser1a

I then used my Copic markers in a rainbow of colours to colour each of the equaliser blocks. It was quite time consuming, but the results are totally worth the effort! The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks and adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

That’s all I have to share with you today, but we have a hop full of wonderful inspiration and techniques, I can’t wait to read how they’ve created all their samples! So get comfy, grab a drink and be sure to hop around all the Design Team blogs for a TON of inspiration and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

Wiebke

Such a rainbow of colour today, I think that is what drew me to designing an equaliser! So many colour and fun possibilities 🙂

Release Schedule…

Sneak Peeks 20th – 22nd February, these little teasers give you hints at what is in store!

Introducing 23rd – 27th, here you will see a closer look at the products being released with a daily blog hop with the Uniko DT.

Release Day! Wednesday 28th February 9am GMT you will get to see the products in their entirety and purchase them HERE on the website! As usual there will be a Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Introducing… Spring Botanicals Daffodil

Hey!

Welcome back to day two of the product introductions. This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

WOW! Wasn’t yesterday FUN?! If you missed the product introduction and blog hop, you can catch up HERE.

Today myself and the Design Team are introducing the next flower in the Spring Botanical series, Spring Botanicals Daffodil.
How about a look at this clear stamp set in action…
IntroDaff1
I’ve gone super clean and simple for my first card as I wanted the Spring yellows and greens to shine against the crisp white background.
IntroDaff1a
I’ve used my trusty Prismacolor pencils to colour the daffodil, which I fussy cut out and adhered to the card base using foam adhesive. The sentiment is just one from the clear stamp set and I added some simple glittered enamel dot embellishments to finish.
Lastly I went super quick creative due to minimal time to create these days…
IntroDaff2
I started with a large stamp block, big enough to cover my card size (10.5 x 14 cm) and I roughly coloured over it with 2 Zig Clean Color Brush Pens. I then heavily spritzed with water and then stamped it onto some smooth watercolour card stock.
IntroDaff2a
Once my panel was dry, I simply stamped the Daffodil in VersaFine Onyx Black ink, added another of the sentiments from the clear stamp set, which has a couple of mix and match options and embellished with some clear sequins.
That’s all I have to share with you using this clear stamp set, but we have our usual design team blog hop too! It’s a hop full of wonderful inspiration and techniques, I can’t wait to read how they’ve created all their samples! So get comfy, grab a drink and be sure to hop around all the Design Team blogs for a TON of inspiration and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

Introducing… Birthday Sentiments, Background Blocks Party Confetti & Balloon Bash Stencil

Hey!

Welcome to the first day of the product introductions. This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

Today myself and the Design Teams are introducing 3 of the February / 6th Birthday Release products, Birthday Sentiments, Background Blocks Party Confetti & Balloon Bash Stencil. As you can see by the titles, they all have a birthday / celebratory theme to them.
To start the hop and find all the Design Team links (in case you get lost along the way, as the DT has grown) click HERE.
Now how about a look at these stamps in action…
First up I thought I would share a card using the Balloon Bash Stencil and just one of the mix and match sentiments from Birthday Sentiments. If you like the previously released Festive Sentiments, then I think you might just LOVE this sentiment set too 😉
IntroBalloonStencil1
I started out with some smooth watercolour card, I use The Langton Hot Pressed (Smooth) Grain Satiné. I selected 5 colours of Distress Oxide in to form a rainbow effect. I then simply applied the colour through one of the balloon images in the stencil starting from Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers & Wilted Violet. I then spritzed the card with some water and dabbed the excess to achieve the mottled oxide effect on the balloons.
IntroBalloonStencil1a
The balloon strings are stamped from the previously released Balloon Bash clear stamp set and then I used my MISTI tool to stamp the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black ink a couple of times to get a nice smooth, solid impression.
Next I decided to ink up Background Blocks Party Confetti as I wanted to give my new go to technique a whirl on it! I simply love the direct to stamp colouring with water based markers. And this stamp simply calls for a rainbow of colours, don’t you think?!
IntroBBPartyConfetti1
For this card I placed the Background Block inside my small MISTI stamping tool and chose to colour the block with my Stampin’ Up! Brights marker collection. I simply started with a colour and just randomly coloured the elements in the design and simply repeated this for each colour until the block was all coloured.
IntroBBPartyConfetti1a
I then ‘huff’ over the stamp to moisten the ink. As The process is quite time consuming, the ink can dry onto the stamp, so you need to do this before you stamp or you will get a dull stamped image. But I think the results are worth the effort! After I had stamped the image I trimmed it down and adhered it to a Tempting Turquoise card base. I added sentiments from Birthday Sentiments and embellished with a yummy cupcake from Celebrate With Cake.
Before I removed the Background Blocks Party Confetti from the MISTI tool, I decided to spritz the image with some water and stamped the design onto some watercolour card, this formed the base for my next card design…
IntroBBPartyConfetti2
Again, such a cool effect and the colours are a little more muted this time, with being watered down. This time I embellished the card with a duo of stamped balloons from the Balloon Bash clear stamp set and another mix and match sentiment from Birthday Sentiments.
That’s all I have created to share with you today! Be sure to hop on over to sweet Carol to see the creativity there. If you get lost along the way here is the list of Design Team Blog Links…

Happy 6th Birthday Uniko!

Welcome to The Uniko 6th Birthday Treasure Hunt!

Over 6 years Uniko has produced 104 (not including 2018s) clear stamp sets and I am delighted that some of these early clear stamp sets are still popular today!
Today the Design Team and a couple of ‘special guests’ have created a FUN clear stamp set treasure hunt blog hop for you to join in on.
The aim of the treasure hunt is for you not only to be inspired by each of projects the DT and our guests are sharing, but also to find a NAME of a clear stamp set from each of the 6 years Uniko has been going, from 2012 – 2017.
Each person along the hop will have created a project using a clear stamp set from the year they were allocated. They will also mention the year that the clear stamp set was released somewhere in their blog post.
There are 11 amazing and inspirational designers in the hop and one Design Team Member has created 2 projects using 2 clear stamp sets from the six years. So there are 2 clear stamp sets from each of the 6 years to be found. Easy peasy!
Jot these answers down in an email like this for example:
2012 Pure Florals: Poinsettia / Pure Florals: Gerbera
2013 Background Builders: Round In Circles
2014 Explosion!
2015 Balloon Bash
2016 Originally Organic
2017 Reach For The Stars
Then email your answers to bev@uniko.co.uk by 9am GMT Sunday 18th February 2018. You will then be entered into a prize draw. Keep reading to find out what the prizes are!
So which clear stamp set was I allocated from the 104 I have designed over 6 years?
Yep, you might have guessed correctly from the sneak peek you saw over at the start of the hop, Uniko Style!
UnikoStylePP
This little clear stamp set was released back in February 2017 during our 5th Birthday celebrations and it only seems fitting to revisit it and give it some more inky love.
UnikoTH1
I decided to make a two cards using the set with a colour scheme inspired by the Uniko brand colours. The first card I made is my usual clean and simple style.
UnikoTH1e
I started out by masking the top section of my white mat layer with post it notes and then proceeded to stamp the outline flower in the trio of colours, adding the large circular enters in the same colour and then the smaller oval black. The sentiment is a mix from Happy Succulents and Simply Said Blocks, two other clear stamp sets that debuted in 2017.
UnikoTH1f
My next card was created organically and I had no layout planned out before I started stamping. The only idea I had as my starting point, was to use the two small solid circular stamps from the set.
UnikoTH1g
I decided to stamp these randomly in the pink and aqua colours. I then decided to use the outline flower shape, stamping it in black so that the aqua circles were inside. I then went in and added the oval black centres a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks and some Altenew enamel dots. Having not used the turquoise colour from the Uniko brand, I decided to trim my stamped panel and add a small strip of Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores card to the lower section.
UnikoTH1d
That’s all I have to share using this clear stamp set today. Be sure to make a note of the name and year and hop along to the lovely Carol, to find the next clear stamp set and year in the Treasure Hunt!
If you get lost along the way here is the list of the Uniko DT and Special Guests taking part…
Now with any kind of celebration and hop there are prizes and this is what you could win by joining in on the Treasure Hunt. Yep, there is more fun and prizes to be won in the next couple of weeks leading up until Release Day February 28th!

Treasure Hunt Prizes!

I will randomly select THREE winners from all the correct entries that name 6 clear stamp sets from each year (2012-2017), to receive an in stock clear stamp set of their choosing.

I will also randomly select ONE lucky winner to receive a £60 eGift Certificate to spend in the Uniko store to those who name and email all 12 clear stamp sets from each of the 6 years!

Happy Hopping & Hunting!

Uniko Sponsors AAA Cards – All You Need Is Love

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I do hope you are having a good weekend so far? It’s been a sick one here at Uniko HQ as I currently type my post on my laptop from bed! Urgh, the joys of 3 years olds and the germs they bring home from nursery!

Anyway, enough with that, Uniko is super duper happy to be sponsoring one of my favourite challenges this fortnight, AAA Cards.

#108

This fortnight the challenge HERE at AAA Cards is appropriately All You Need is LOVE, good if you’re like me and haven’t made your significant other a Valentine’s card yet!

But what if you don’t need or send Valentine’s cards? Well, I always remember when I visited Finland with my mum around that time and my mums friend who we stayed with said that they celebrated friendship on Valentine’s Day. I think I have remembered correctly, but it’s a nice idea anyway!

I’ve opted more for a Wedding Day LOVE card…

I used Pure Florals: Cosmos to stamp inside a die cut heart mask using a trio of Altenew inks. I added a mix and match of sentiments from Simply said II and Simply Said Blocks. I then finished the design off using some enamel shapes.

I hope you’re inspired to join in on the challenge & I look forward to seeing you in the gallery too!

Until then, thanks for stopping by!

Uniko’s 6th Birthday Stamping Retreat!

Hey & Happy Hump Day!

If you follow Uniko on social media or subscribe to the newsletter, you might have seen my recent advert for Uniko’s 6th Birthday Stamping Retreat!

Please note, that since my first advert there has been a change in date from Saturday 10th Feb, to Saturday 24th Feb for various reasons.

Anyway, I thought I’d pop by and share a little about the day…

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

Having had a successful first Stamping Retreat back in December 2017, I have planned another to celebrate Uniko’s 6th Birthday!

Here are a few photos from the first Stamping Retreat, with thanks to Wiebke for taking some as well..

A peek at the kits and the Uniko Tote Goodie Bags.

Some had taken a break, whilst a few crafted on!

The technique station was based around Uniko Stencils and Distress Oxide Inks.

The venue of the Retreat is The Station House at Wynyard Woodlands Park…

Set in a beautiful woodland park is this old station house, which most recently was a visitor centre. As you walk in you are greeted with a space filled with character and warmth. With a spaces perfect for a hive of creativity.

Why is it called a Stamping Retreat? I hear you ask!

Simply because the focus of the day is on stamping with Uniko clear stamps and retreating to this wonderful location!

I didn’t want to call it a class, as that sounds to formal. The day is about being relaxed and enjoying the creative process. Whether you are an expert stamper/crafter, beginner or somewhere in between, this is the day for you.

What is involved/included?

If you ever attended one of my previous ‘classes’ at The Paperlane in Northallerton, the overall structure is similar, but I have added in some NEW things too 😉

I will be designing a collection of cards using the NEW Uniko February Release, which is based around Spring, Florals, Music and Birthdays! You will receive a ‘kit’ that will contain all the instructions and materials to make 7 – 8 cards throughout the day at your own pace. I will be there to help and guide individuals as needed and I will demonstrate any techniques to the whole group at the beginning of the day.

Along with the kit there will be one or two individual project / technique stations for each of you to take turns, have a go and make during the day.

Along with all this you will receive a Uniko Birthday Gift! This will contain a FREE clear stamp set from the February Release and a few other goodies. Gift value will be between £10-£15.

There will also be a Uniko pop up shop of all the items available on the Uniko website along with the unreleased February Release. You will receive 10% off any purchases made during the day!

Does this sound FUN or what?! I can hardly wait 😉 I do hope that some of you will be able to come and enjoy this day with myself and Uniko!

For more details and to book your place pop on over HERE to the website.

Uniko Challenge #45 – Something Old, Something New, with Optional Twist LOVE

Hey!

This month we have the following challenge…

This month we have the winner of Challenge #44 Christmas, the awesomely talented Anita joining us as our Guest Designer.

Here’s her amazing card:

So clean and perfectly CAS. Be sure to pop on over to her blog HERE and leave her some love.

Here is how I was inspired by the challenge theme…

USC#45

I had a basic idea of the supplies I wanted to use and a rough layout planned  and went with the flow on that side of things! I needed to be inspired with my colours and turned to the current challenge over at Global Design Project, seen HERE and below.

GDPD121

I feel like its been ages since I joined in on a challenge and even longer since I joined in on one over there! I was OK with the Sweet Sugarplum and Bermuda Bay colours, but Peekaboo Peach threw me a little! I decided to use it as my base card colour and only have a small amount showing.

USC#45b

Whist creating my card I was quite pleased as how it came together. Now that it is finished and photographed I am not entirely keen on it! I feel I should have used the Large Background Polka Hearts instead of the Scattered Polka Dot Stencil and the sentiment could have done with being stamped a little higher!

I think it is good sometimes to make and share cards that you are not completely happy with, it shows that I don’t get it right every time and it gives you something to learn and build on from the next time you create.

That’s all from me, but the Uniko Design team also have some LOVELY inspiration to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs below to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too 😉

Design Team Inspiration – Stamp and Go!

Hey!

Jane has some fabulous and cheerful Design Team Inspiration for you over HERE on the blogspot blog. It is all about simple quick and easy to recreate cards.

Although it’s fun to try out different techniques, use die cuts and multi media with Uniko stamps we don’t always have the time and Uniko stamps look just as stunning when simply stamped. So that’s why Jane is calling her post ‘Stamp and Go!’

Here is a peek at one of the project Jane is sharing, be sure to head on over HERE for the full post and more wonderful inspiration.
