Uniko Sponsors TIME OUT Challenges & Stamp Of The Week!

Hey!

I’m back today with a special Stamp Of The Week post, as this fortnight Uniko are sponsoring the new TIME OUT Challenge HERE, so I decided to combine two.

As usual with Uniko being a sponsor of the challenge, there are PRIZES up for grabs! To be in the chance of winning a in stock stamp set of choice from the Uniko store simply join in on the challenge HERE.

This fortnight the challenge is…

CHRISTMAS

with the optional twist of using Pink & or Purple

The Uniko DT have created some FABulous Christmas inspiration, so be sure to check them out HERE on the Uniko Blog and pop by their blogs by following the links and leave some love for them.

I’ll be giving away this weeks Stamp Of The Week – Label Love: Thank you to one lucky random comment from those left on any of the Uniko DT Blogs taking part in the TIME OUT Challenge on their Uniko Sponsors TIME OUT Challenges post. You have until the end of the TIME OUT Challenge ( ) to leave a comment to be in the chance of winning.

Ok, so onto my card…

SOTW15

As you can see I went for the optional twist! I decided to pair my label from Label Love: Thank you with Stunning Snowflakes which are heat embossed in white onto watercolour card. I then did a bit of splishy splashy watercoloring with my Zig Clean Colour pen.

SOTW15a

I then created a semi see through tag for the card as I wanted the embossed snowflakes and pink watercolours to show through. I die cut the Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag from vellum, then added a PTI Limitless Layer die cut which I stamped one of the labels from Label Love: Thank you onto in VersaMagic. The sentiment is from Label Love: Christmas and the tag is adhered to the card using foam adhesive under the label die cut. I added a ribbon & bakers twine treatment to the tag and finished the whole card off with a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Ok, that is all from me today, don’t forget to check the challenge out HERE, inspiration HERE and follow the links to the DT cards to leave the Uniko DT some love to be in the chance of winning Label Love: Thank you!

I’ll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Stamp Of The Week – Label Love: Thank you

Hey!

I’m back today with a little card & tag ensemble using this weeks Stamp Of The Week – Label Love: Thank you. I’ve gone Christmassy too, combining it with sentiments & stars from Label Love: Christmas & a little dot trio from Balloon Bash…

SOTW13

I was inspired by a card I spotted on Pinterest HERE and seen below by the awesomely talented & sweet Dawn McVey and thought I would do a CASE using the labels.

dm

Since making my little ensemble I have added the Heidi Swapp Mini Minc Machine to my Christmas list, as I want to foil everything! LOL! I had drew the cross hatch style frame with a pencil then went over the lines with a gold Spica pen. I think it would have been much nicer foiled or now thinking about it I could have used my VersaMark pen & embossing powder.

SOTW13a

Anyway, after making the card I decided to make a matching tag using Papertrey Ink’s Tag Sale #4 die along with my Sizzix framelits 2 1/2″ circle die.

SOTW13c

Here is a photo of the ensemble…

SOTW13b

That’s all I have to share with you all today, I hope I have inspired you a little. I will be back again tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Stamp Of The Week – Label Love: Thank you

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week. Basically each week I will be choosing a stamp set to dust off & give some inky love to. Though I am open to requests of stamp sets to revisit, so if you have a request either leave a comment or drop me an email. Along with giving the set some love, the featured set is also discounted in store for that week.

This week I am dusting off Label Love: Thank you

LabelLoveThankYouPP

This set has a multitude of possibilities and I hope to show you what it is capable of this week. With Christmas the top priority for many crafters and card makers right now, I will be paring it with another of the Label Love series – Label Love: Christmas along with other Uniko stamp sets. Don’t forget that the set is 15% off this week HERE.

Anyway, today I have used the set with Background Builders: Squared and gone for a geometric rainbow style card…

SOTW12

I said in yesterday’s post that I would be showing more examples of easy geometric style cards suitable to enter into our current challenge HERE.

As you can see I have gone for circles. I have stamped the label in black ink onto white card & punched it out using my 1 3/4″ circle punch. I have then double die cut a larger circle to create a circle frame so that you can see the rainbow stripes between. For this I used my Sizzix Framelits 2″ and 2 1/2″ circle dies.

SOTW12a

To go along with the rainbow theme I coloured the outline THANKS sentiment in the colours I used for the stripes and added a few candy dots & rhinestones in some of the colours used too.

Ok, that is all from me today using this weeks Stamp Of The Week, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. I have another quick CAS geometric card HERE to share with you, so be sure to check it out. Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today.

Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1

Hey!

Well, I don’t know how Sunday evening happened! This weekend has gone crazy quick and these little beans are keeping me on the go, as well as all the household chores which are A LOT easier to accomplish when hubby is home to keep them occupied.

I was hoping to have more to share with you today, to make up for missing Friday & Saturday, but I have just the two cards using this weeks Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1.

FlowerPower1PP

Don’t forget that tonight is the last night to get this set at 15% off HERE, it will revert back to normal price tomorrow as I will have a new Stamp Of The Week.

Anyway, onto my cards…

SOTW11b

My first card is super CAS and inspired by the new sketch seen HERE and below over at CAS – Colours & Sketches. I also used the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below.

2015.10.22 #147 sketch

cqc313

My card was really quick to make, the longest part was fussy cutting out the flowers! The Melon Mambo one was adhered to the card using double sided tape & the Pink Pirouette one using foam adhesive.

SOTW11c

My next card was inspired by the current Uniko Challenge HERE, which is all about using Geometrics. I had planned on sharing this card on Friday but it didn’t happen unfortunately, but it did today…

SOTW11

I started out by stamping my sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #6 and then began stamping the larger squares from Background Builders: Squared in Melon Mambo. Before stamping the Real Red small outline squares I first over stamped the large squares with the outline flower from Flower Power #1 in black ink.

SOTW11a

The layout and placement of the squares was random, though I tried to keep in mind the balance and triangle of placing my elements. The colours of my card are inspired by the current Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below.

swatch+365

I’ll be sharing more ideas this week in how to add simple geometrics to your cards & creations and of course the new Stamp Of The Week, another oldie but a goodie stamp set with tons of possibilities, especially with Christmas fast approaching. I am always open for requests if there is a stamp set you would like me to use as Stamp Of The Week, either email me or leave me a comment.

Ok, that’s all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today & I hope you have enjoyed this weeks Stamp Of The Week.

Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1

Hey!

Ahhh, Thursday how I love thee! Today I get a few hours to myself this afternoon as the beans are off to Grandma & Grandads for their tea 🙂 I have a mountain of things I’d like to spend my time doing but I know for a fact that the 4 hours will go crazy quick.

Anyway, last night I had a little creative time in the studio once the beans were tucked up in bed to create a little trio of cards using this weeks Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1.

FlowerPower1PP

The purpose of my little trio of cards was to show you just a small example of the mix & match possibilities the Flower Power series has.

SOTW10

For my cards I combined Flower Power #1, #5 and #6. My card design was inspired by the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below. Don’t you just love it when a challenge is perfect for what you had in mind? I do 🙂 Oh and I was super excited to be a winner for last weeks challenge HERE with my card using last weeks Stamp Of The Week.  Thanks guys 🙂

FMS Final 209-001

The cards are 12cm tall and 10.5cm wide so they are smaller in height than my normal card as I didn’t want an uneven border around the stamped layer. The design itself is really basic and highlights how the stem and flower can stamped. For the flower I added a little more depth and detail, stamping it in two shade of the same colour.

SOTW10d

SOTW10f

SOTW10e

I started out by stamping the darker colour flower and then rotating the stamp one leaf to stamp the lighter shade to create a full flower with a two tone effect. It is similar to the Ghost Stamping technique I have used previously with this set HERE.

A few more photos of the trio of cards to hopefully inspire you a little more…

SOTW10c

SOTW10a

SOTW10b

Ok, that’s all from me on this blog today, but I will be sharing something over HERE later today 🙂 Until then & the next time, thanks for stopping by.

Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1

Hey!

Here we are midway through the week again & I am amazingly posting before sun down. I daren’t speak too loud, but I am fairly organised today. Though there is still plenty of the day left for that to change!

Anyway, so I am back to share a CAS card using this weeks Stamp Of the Week – Flower Power #1

FlowerPower1PP

Today I wanted to focus on a sentiment from the set & the two larger flowers…

SOTW9

I had an idea around the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment, in that I wanted to cluster the flowers and have one stand prominently out from the design to represent the ‘you’. So I chose two colours to work with, using SU! Bermuda Bay as the all over colour & Melon Mambo as the stand out colour. I am reasonably happy with how it turned out and hopefully the recipient will like it too.

SOTW9a

I’m keeping things short & sweet today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share using this set. Until then, thank you for stopping by & I hope I have inspired you a little.

Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1

Hey!

Stamp of the Week is a new feature here at Uniko.

It is one I have been wanting to do for some time & with the results of the recent survey I did it is something 69% of you wanted too. Even though every other month the DT and I revisit a previously released set, there are MANY more clear stamp sets that deserve some LOVE!

So, what is stamp of the week?

Well, each week I will be focusing on a different stamp set on this the Uniko website blog, I will be featuring a variety of cards, tags, projects and hopefully videos. The stamp of the week will be the main focus but I will also be showing how it pairs with other products from Uniko & other reputable companies. Along with all that the featured stamp set will be available in store at a discounted price for that week only.

This weeks stamp of the week – Flower Power #1

FlowerPower1PP

Today I have one card two ways and they are the designs I originally had planned to share yesterday which wouldn’t work for me but today, no problem!

SOTW8

I decided to continue with my Christmas theme for my first card and combined Flower Power #1 with tiny stamps from two other Uniko clear stamp sets, Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions and Label Love: Christmas.

SOTW8a

I started out by drawing a faint pencil circle & then stamped the two sizes of outline holly leaves from Label Love: Christmas around the circle, then filling in gaps with the single solid holly leaf from Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions. The flowers are the largest of the trio of flowers stamped & fussy cut out. Again like yesterdays card HERE I used the holly berry stamp to add the flower detail to make them resemble poinsettias. The sentiment is from Simply Said Christmas & heat embossed in gold.

My next card is the same design but uses different colours & leaf stamps to create a more autumnal card…

SOTW8b

I followed the same steps for this card as I did for the first, I simply used the two matching but mirrored leaves from Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions. My colours were inspired by the current CAS – Colours & Sketches challenge colours seen HERE and below.

2015.10.15 #146 cols

SOTW8c

This time instead of making the flowers to look like poinsettias I left them as flowers and added rhinestones to the centres for sparkle. I also added a few randomly around the wreath.

Ok, that’s all from me today, I hope I have inspired you a little more this evening. I will be back again tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Do you ever have THOSE days? Those where everything you do or touch goes drastically wrong? Well, I have been having one of THOSE Mondays!

I was quite pleased with myself this morning, things seemed to be going well, beans fed, nappies changed, dressed & all set for playgroup & even not much fuss when I put their new shoes on (they’re not quite sure about shoes yet!) Grandma arrives and off we set for playgroup, then the THOSE starts, slow puncture on one of the pram tyres as we almost get to the playgroup venue, Grandma carries on & I run back to the house, only 10 minutes away to fetch a new inner tube & pump. To cut a not so long but possibly boring story short I got it fixed, the beans enjoyed playgroup & that was that. THEN from that incident things just didn’t go as planned, hence my lateness in posting today, poor quality photos and a project that I didn’t plan on!!

Anyway, here is my card for today…

SOTW7

Hopefully you can see that I have used the large solid flower from Flower Power #1 as a poinsettia. Yep, I am on a poinsettia kick at the minute! I also masked and stamped the larger flower from the trio contained in the set, stamping it in Pink Grapefruit for a little contrast…

SOTW7a

For the poinsettia centres I used the holly berry trio from Label Love: Christmas & Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions. The stamped sentiment is from Pure Florals: Poinsettia & I paired it with the SU! Christmas Greetings peace die.

I wanted to show you that just because the stamp set features a graphic flower & non Christmas themed sentiments it can still be used for a holiday card. However, with a simple colour & sentiment change it could be an everyday card too.

I hope I have inspired you a little this evening & I haven’t put you off with my ramblings and woes! I will be back tomorrow in a more timely fashion with my next project and post featuring this set. Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Today is my last post using this stamp set as the Stamp Of The Week, I have had so much fun giving this set some love and showing you some of the many possibilities using it.

We started off the week HERE with the October Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY. You still have a few hours to comment along the hop to be in the chance of winning this set or a eGift Certificate to the same value.

Anyway, back to my project…
SOTW6

Today I dusted off a trio of Copic markers and did a spot of colouring. I found it very relaxing last night and enjoyed the time my head got to think and wander in the peacefulness!

I was inspired by a card I pinned recently HERE and HERE by the awesome Julia Altermann who is Guest Designing with us for our October challenge HERE. I simply LOVE the layout of Julia’s card & the fun tag flap, so I had a go myself! Another detail I adore and CASED is how Julia added the twine to the card front. Instead of embellishing sequins, as I didn’t quite have what I wanted (looks like a #PPP shopping spree is required!) I used SU! candy dots and tiny rhinestones. Also I haven’t quite mastered Julia’s dot effect, she is a pro at that.

SOTW6b

After colouring the poinsettia with my Copic markers I gave it a good douse of Wink Of Stella for that added sparkle & shine. I wish I had the patience to colour like this more as I really like the results.

SOTW6c

One last photo showing you the sentiment inside. I stamped it so that it can be seen when the flap is opened up…

SOTW6a

There are two challenges currently going that this card is perfect for. First up is the Happy Little Stampers challenge HERE which is to use a poinsettia & the second challenge is HERE with Addicted to CAS which is Sparkle! Be sure to check them both out.

Stamp Of The Week – Pure Florals Poinsettia

Hey!

Stamp of the Week is a new feature here at Uniko.

PFpoinsettiaPP

As we are nearing the end of the week I have 2 cards to share with you using this set, both of which were really quick to make. Today I have focused on a couple of the sentiments in the set along with using only a section of the poinsettia. Just because it is a large outline flower, which may daunt you if you are not one for colouring, you can just use a small section of the flower.

For my first card I focused on the sentiment, PEACE * LOVE * JOY and paired it with one of my new Pretty Pink Posh mini tags & some NBUS Stampin’ Up! Christmas Greetings dies.

  SOTW5b

The current sketch over at CAS(E) this sketch! seen HERE and below was perfect for showcasing a sentiment from the set & a small section of the poinsettia. I wanted the sentiment to be the focus of the card and using the peace die cut in sparkle  card emphasises this.

CTS_145

I am LOVING the mini tags from Pretty Pink Posh, I especially like the size and the stitching detail. I decided not to add any further embellishment to the card, as I feel the sparkle of the die cut is enough impact.

SOTW5c

My next card is a little out of my comfort zone, in the fact that I have used designer paper! I very rarely use patterned papers even though I love pattern and colour. I think the reason is they daunt my love of CAS and I find it hard to keep the card CAS when I use them.

SOTW5

However, I was inspired by current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below and I was especially inspired by Jennifer Timko’s card HERE.

FMS208

With using such a bright colour of DP with the polka dot pattern, plus the poinsettia flower being detailed too I kept my use of colour to a minimum, stamping the sentiment & poinsettia in black & adding a small splash of gold. As you can see I only cut a small section of the poinsettia out, but it still keeps its form nicely. The sentiment is 2 stamps, but I masked & stamped ‘The Magic Of Christmas’ part to create a 3 lined sentiment.

SOTW5a

That’s all I have today, but I will be back tomorrow with the last of my projects using this set as Stamp Of The Week. This also means that if you want to purchase the set at the discounted price HERE you have until midnight 18th October BST to do so!

Enjoy your weekend!
