October 2017 Reveal, Release, Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

WhooHoo!

It might be Monday, but it is a HAPPY Monday here at Uniko HQ, as it is FINALLY release day! All the products and sneak peeks at brand spanking NEW products are now available HERE to purchase.

Hopefully you have hopped over from the Uniko Blogspot blog HERE, where I have formally introduced all NINE new products lining the shelves! We have 5 new clear stamp sets, 2 new Designer Dies AND 2 NEW Uniko Stencil Designs!!

How about a little bit of inspiration using the new products…

First up is this wintery snowflake window card. I’ve used Background Blocks Falling Snowflakes, stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed in white behind a window die cut using a tag shaped die. I’ve then added a sentiment from Festive Sentiments and embellished the design with the small Designer Die Snowflake.

My next are samples I created whilst demoing at Stamp Magic yesterday. I couldn’t resist giving the NEW Uniko Stencils a whirl with my recently purchased and growing collection of Distress Oxide Inks and then doing some simple stamping using Block Party Christmas and Organic Wishes.

Here I have used Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry to blend together using a ‘pouncing’ motion with my ink blending tool over the Wonky Stripes Stencil. I have then stamped the heart ended seed heads, double stem and sentiment from Organic Wishes.

While I was using the Wonky Stripes Stencil I sent ahead and created another panel using the same colours. This time I decided to over stamp Block Party Christmas.

It is a really fun and unique way of adding colour and interest to these subway art style stamps! Plus each time you blend the colours you can achieve a different colour way, blend mix and look of the stencil design.

Lastly I decided to give some more love to the Scattered Polka Dots Stencil and again paired it with Block Party Christmas.

October 2017 Sneak Peeks Day 2

Welcome back to day 2 of the October 2017 Sneak Peeks and thank you to all that left such lovely comments on yesterday’s peek HERE.

25 Days Of Christmas Tags

Hey and Happy Tuesday!

Uniko is excited and honoured to be taking part AND sponsoring the FABulous 25 Days of Christmas Tags hosted and organised by the lovely Tracey McNeely from In My Creative Opinion.

All the fun began on Nov 1st HERE and there are lots of prizes and inspiration to be had, so be sure to check it out from the beginning.

Anyway, the Uniko DT myself included have made a Christmas tag or two to inspire and share with you, all the links can be found HERE.

This is what I came up with…

I’ve seen a few shaker tags around blog land and Pinterest and so I thought I would challenge myself to have a go! I was also inspired by the current “Less is More” challenge HERE, which is to use Purple and Gold, though as I have made a tag, rather than a cardI am not entering into the challenge. I used the challenge as inspiration.

Anyway, I started by die cutting 3 of my tags from white card. I then die cut a rounded rectangle from one of the tags to create my window. The snowflakes are my favourite trio from Stunning Snowflakes and I stamped them onto the second die cut tag.

I used a mixture of gold and purple sequins for my shaker and added a gold heat embossed snowflake with a few enamel dots to embellish the outside of the tag. Some satin ribbon and bakers twine finished the tag off nicely.

The third tag I die cut was to create a back to my tag, scoring and adhering only a small section at the top so my tag would stand up! It also gives a flat surface to write the recipients name and message too.

Before I go I have a couple more tags to share, which are SNEAKY sneak peeks at a couple of clear stamp sets being released in a couple of weeks 😉

Stamp Of The Week – Stunning Snowflakes

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week, this week I am dusting off… Stunning Snowflakes

This clear stamp set is one of my all time favourites and so I had to ‘feature’ it before Christmas. I simply love snow and snowflakes & wish it snowed here in the UK more often!

Anyway, here is todays card using the set…

Todays card is almost a one layer card, but the die cut gold SNOW & tiny rhinestones adds a postal friendly layer to it. This card was inspired by this non Christmas card HERE and below.

The colours for my card are inspired by the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge HERE which is a colour challenge, but you get to choose from any of the 2015 colour combos.

SO many wonderful choices, that I actually made 2 cards but the second I will be sharing in next weeks Stamp Of The Week 😉

Anyway, I chose Challenge #144 colours seen HERE and below…

I never found time to join in on these colours & they are perfect for a snowflake card 😉 Another much needed Christmas card & one that can be fairly quickly mass produced if needed! I’ll leave you with one last view of the card…

Today we have family visiting, so I might not get much time in the studio to create. Hopefully I will get time to make one last card using this set to share with you tomorrow.

Stamp Of The Week – Stunning Snowflakes

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week, this week I am dusting off… Stunning Snowflakes

This clear stamp set is one of my all time favourites and so I had to ‘feature’ it before Christmas. I simply love snow and snowflakes & wish it snowed here in the UK more often!

Anyway, here is todays card using the set…

I’ve combined 2 challenges for this card, first up the layout and overall design is based on this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below.

I started out with a different version of this card but made a few boo boos on it so abandoned it, I may try it again & share if it works! Then I remembered I have the SU! polka dot stencil and decided to do some ink daubing through it, something I’ve not done much of at all. So much so that I couldn’t even find a dauber! I used a dry baby wipe instead to brush the ink onto the black CS through the stencil which has resulted in a softer edge to my gold polka dots.

Secondly the colour scheme of my card is inspired by the new Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below.

Usually I would use less black and more white and gold but decided to give the black more focus. Instead of adding sentiment I decided to leave the card sentiment free & add a few rhinestones for added shine and sparkle. The stamped & fussy cut snowflake is adhered to the card using foam adhesive and lightly brushed with a clear Wink Of Stella pen.

That’s all from me this evening, it’s been another long day with the beans today. They were tired following their afternoon at Grandma’s & Grandad’s yesterday and so were quite irritable at times and quite demanding for attention. Hence this mummy is quite tired now!

Stamp Of The Week – Stunning Snowflakes

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week. Seriously, how did we get to Thursday & Thursday evening here in the UK?? These days and weeks are just flying past me at the speed of light! Anyway, back to this weeks Stamp Of The Week 😉

This week I am dusting off… Stunning Snowflakes

This clear stamp set is one of my all time favourites and so I had to ‘feature’ it before Christmas. I simply love snow and snowflakes & wish it snowed here in the UK more often!

Here’s my card using the set…

I was inspired by the current Muse challenge card seen HERE and below. Isn’t it a FUN card? I instantly thought of the tiny snowflakes from the set and had to ink them up.

For the stamped coloured circles I used a circle stamp from the first Uniko clear stamp set, Today, Tomorrow & Always Extra Time. I partially inked the trio of dots stamping them in Memento Luxe Rose Bud, VersaMagic Turquoise Gem & Aquatic Splash. I stamped the sentiment and added a few rhinestones for sparkle. The panel is then mounted to the card base using foam adhesive.

Stamp Of The Week – Stunning Snowflakes

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week. I took a little break last week due to Black Friday & due to illness. BUT I am back this week with more projects to share 🙂

Basically each week I will be choosing a stamp set to dust off & give some inky love to. Anyway, enough of my ramblings, how about a card…

I had to try the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch again seen HERE and below, it’s been a challenging one, but I have enjoyed the creative challenge!

I had assorts of ideas floating around my head and I tried a variety of techniques but I wasn’t happy with any of the results. I ended up simply creating a semi circular mask and stamping the snowflakes inside the mask, then adding a gold ‘SNOW’ die cut using SU! Little Letters Dies. I added a few tiny rhinestones to finish the design off and add a little more sparkle.

As I can’t resist a challenge, I decided to combine a colour challenge too 😉 These colours are from the current {Cupcake Inspirations} challenge seen HERE and below. I love turquoise/aquamarine and so this combined with snowflakes made me extremely happy! Haha!

Onto my card…

As you can see I have gone super CAS for this one & one layer too, perfect for mailing out! I used a few other challenges to spark my creativity. First up is the current 2 week challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below. I’ve had so many ideas whirling around for this sketch but with being ill I hadn’t found time to join in.

I was also inspired by the new Fusion Card Challenge HERE and seen below, I used the colours from the inspiration photo. Such lovely turquoise/blue tones with sparkly silver & white.

As you can see from this close up below, I have used 2 snowflakes from Stunning Snowflakes & heat embossed one the sentiments from the set with Stardust EP for the sparkle! I was going to say I used one of my favourite sentiments from the set, but I actually LOVE them all! Haha!

I actually chose this particular sentiment due to the new challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges HERE. This fortnight it is an inspired by words challenge & the words are…

This week I am dusting off… Label Love: Christmas

As I missed half of the week last week (due to November Release prep) & I will be using last weeks Stamp Of The Week, Label Love: Thank you BOTH clear stamp sets are available at a discount for this week in store HERE & HERE.

After the mammoth posting yesterday over on blogger, I never made it back to share my card for Stamp Of The Week 🙁 though I’m here today instead, all be it later than planned but I’m here!

My card is inspired by the current challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges, which Uniko is sponsoring 😉 The theme is Christmas with an optional twist of using pink & or purple.

For my card I used a combination of Label Love: Christmas and Stunning Snowflakes, I also incorporated some masking, stamping & cutting out a little window in my label…

Oh, and of course I added glitter & rhinestones for good measure! As you can see (hopefully), by cutting the inner part of the label where I would normally stamp the sentiment, allowed me to stamp it onto my white snowflake matt layer. I then foam mounted the glittered edged label to create a lovely dimension to my card & focal point.

There is still plenty of time to join in on the challenge, I hope to see you in the gallery 🙂

Anyway, on to today’s card…

Today I decided on another non traditional colour scheme Christmas card, it was firstly inspired by the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below.

With the beans nap time getting slightly shorter & needing to create a few cards that I will be sharing HERE tomorrow, I needed a jump start on my creativity and using a sketch really reduces thinking time, giving more creative time!!

I decided to ink up the music label contained in the set, paring it with the Let it Snow sentiment and a snowflake from Stunning Snowflakes embossed in silver & stardust embossing powder.

I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins, some Papertrey Ink satin ribbon (slowly using my stash!), some mini rhinestones and also edged the label in glitter which is quite hard to see in the photo, but really adds to the sparkle 🙂
