Introducing… Background Builders: Happy Hexagons & Beautiful

Hey!

Welcome back to day 2 of the August 2018 Release product introductions.

This is the fun part, you now get to see all the sneak peeks in action. The Design Team have worked their socks off and created an abundance of inspiration to share with you over the coming days 🙂

Yesterday myself and the Design Team re-introduced the ‘So Much’ mini clear stamp set HERE, be sure to check out all the inspiration and comment along the hop 😉

Today we are introducing 2 new clear stamp sets, Background Builders: Happy Hexagons & Beautiful. Hopefully you have hopped on from the start HERE, where I have shared a couple of projects using the new stamps.

Now I have some more inspiration to share using Background Builders: Happy Hexagons…

IntroBBhappyhex3

Have you noticed the stamp design in the Background Builders Geometric collection that appears in each set? I’ve used it on this first card, if not! I love the garland style of this stamp and as I want all the sets to work as a collection, apart from the correlation of them being geometrics I wanted something to flow between them and this stamp design works perfectly.

InroBBhappyhex3a

On this first card I started by die cutting a square window mask to stamp the hexagon garland. It is such a fun stamp and with it being long and thin, it can be easily manipulated on a stamping block or in a stamping tool to be curved or made into a wavy design. Again, I used Altenew inks and paired it with a sentiment from Birthday Sentiments.

Next, I was inspired by the current challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 350-001

I used the open hexagon strip stamp across my base card, stamping it in VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I then used my Diamond Press Hexagon Dies (purchased from Crafters Companion) to die cut 2 hexagons, one from Lemon Lime Twist and one from Berry Burst, I just love this colour pairing!

IntroBBhappyhex2

I stamped one of the larger hexagons onto the Lemon Lime Twist die cut and layered it slightly onto the Berry Burst die cut. The sentiment is one of my faves from Simply Said Blocks.

IntroBBhappyhex2a

Lastly, but by no means least I have a card to share with you using Beautiful…

IntroBeautiful2

This is another card from the Uniko Summer Stamping Retreat and I think my favourite! I love the juicy bright colours and added little leaf sprig from a clear stamp set being introduced tomorrow 😉 The sentiment is another of the mix and match options in the set and I have added some Bakers Twine & Nuvo Drops to embellish the sentiment strip.

IntroBeautiful2a

That’s all I have to share with you today using these new clear stamp sets, but I know the Design Team have created even more fabulous inspiration to showcase them, be sure to hop along!

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed that hop and I am all inspired to get inky! I’d love to know your thoughts on these clear stamp sets and which is your favourite of the two, that is if you can decide?! That’s all from myself and the Design Team today, but be sure to come by tomorrow for even more product introductions 🙂

Surprise Stencil Release!

Hello!

Today at Uniko we have a surprise stencil release!

Earlier this month Uniko was at Stamp Magic in Doncaster and I had 3 NEW stencil designs available to purchase at the show and I am super pleased they are NOW available HERE on the website.

Let’s have a look at the 3 new designs…

Uniko Stencil Bright Butterflies £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Uniko Stencil Scattered Polka Hexagons £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Uniko Stencil Mehndi Mandala £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Like with any new release here at Uniko we have a blog hop to celebrate and show you beautiful inspiration using the new products. I am super duper pleased to have a wonderful, talented and all round lovely crafter joining me and the Uniko Stencil DT us as our Guest Designer…. Ruth from Crafting While The Baby Naps. Hopefully you have hopped along from Ruth’s blog, but if not be sure to check out Ruth’s amazing inspiration HERE.

And as with all the Uniko Blog Hops we have a GIVEAWAY too! Simply comment along the hop for your chance to win one of the three stencil designs being released and as there are 3 new designs, I will randomly pick 3 lucky winners!!

Ok, how about some inspiration from myself using the new designs…

IntroMandalaStencil2

First up is the card in my sneak photo over on the Uniko Blogspot blog! I wanted to show how the Mehndi Mandala stencil can be paired with the large mandala clear stamp from Marvellous Mehndi.

IntroMandalaStencil2a

I started by inking my Mehndi Mandala with Distress Oxide Inks, in Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers. I then stamped the mandala from Marvellous Mehndi, fussy cutting it out and adding some Stampin’ Up! Dazzling Diamonds glitter to various sections. I’ve adhered it to my stencilled layer using 1mm thick foam adhesive.

IntroMandalaStencil2c

I’ve used the Mehndi Mandala stencil for my next card too, this time showing you more of the design…

IntroMandalaStencil1

Again I used Distress Oxide Inks, this time Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers. I offset mounted my stencilled layer with some black card and onto a white card base. The sentiment is from Simply Said and I added an old Stampin’ Up! embellishment.

IntroMandalaStencil1a

As I was on a roll with the colour combo of Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers I decided to use if for my Bright Butterflies card…

IntroBButterflyStencil1

I’d had the SU! Crumb Cake card stencilled with the design since Stamp Magic, but I didn’t know how I wanted to use it, until I saw this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below!

FMS Final 342-001

I layered my stencilled section with some scrap turquoise card from my stash and paired it with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II.

IntroBButterfliesStencil1a

Lastly, but by no means least I inked up the Scatted Polka Hexagons stencil…

IntroSPHstencil1

This is a fun geometric stencil and it pairs beautifully with the recently released Bee Happy clear stamp set. This time I used my new Catherine Pooler inks to blend through the stencil.

IntroSPHstencil1a

I used Tiara, Tiki Torch and Tutti Frutti from top to bottom. I then moved the position of the stencil slightly and used a fine liner to draw inside the polka hexagons to create a fun pattern.

IntroSPHstencil1b

To finish the design I trimmed my stencilled panel on the diagonal, die cut a large hexagon, big enough for my chosen sentiment from Bee Happy, which is stamped onto my base card. I’ve then embellished the card with a trio of fussy cut bees.

That’s all the inspiration I have to share with you today, but be sure to hop around the Stencil Design Team blogs below for even more. Don’t forget to comment too, to be in the chance of being a lucky winner!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Uniko Sponsors “Less is More”

Hello & Happy Weekend!

I am here bright and early this morning to tell you that Uniko is super happy and proud to be sponsoring “Less is More” again.

34605319_10156823380737841_5105017494033137664_n

As you can see, this week the theme is ‘friendship’ and for my Guest Designer card I thought I would dust off Reach For The Stars and Background Builders: Seeing Stars

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618

I recently had a little Stampin’ Up! splurge as I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of the new and returning colours! One of the colours I couldn’t wait to use was Grey Granite, those who know me, know that I LOVE grey. I think love might be an understatement, lets say obsessed!

Just yesterday I was talking to my husband about painting some rooms in the house and I said I had picked up some paint chips on the way past the DIY store. He knew before he even looked that the majority would be shades of grey – LOL! I love it as a base colour to accessorise with other colours, like I have with my card today…

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618c

I was super happy to see that Altenew Silver Stone ink is a really good match to the Grey Granite card, which I used to stamp my sentiment. The star in the middle from Background Builders: Seeing Stars is stamped in a slightly darker shade, Altenew Industrial Diamond ink. I then used my Prismacolor Pencils in Light & Dark Aquamarine to colour it. The 2 smaller stars are stamped in Altenew Aqualicious and Teal Cave. I finished the stars off with some clear Wink Of Stella too for that subtle sparkle.

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618a

The layout of my card is from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 340-001

I’ve so many friends I could send this card to, so I think I will be replicating this design with other colours & the Grey Granite!

UnikoSponsorsLIM0618b

OK, that’s all from me today, I’ll be spending time with The Beans and hubby today, before a little night out with some of my old nursing friends, celebrating ones retirement. It’ll be nice to catch up with them 🙂

Anyway, be sure to head on over to the “Less is More” blog here and join in on the fun.

The weather here in the UK is certainly getting cooler and signs of Autumn (Fall) are appearing with leaves on the floor. I’m not a tea or coffee drinker, but I do like a hot chocolate (cocoa) and sometimes you just need to drink a hot beverage out of a fancy tea cup!

As you can see I was inspired to use the I LOVE Tea clear stamp set, combined with a sentiment and coffee bean trio from I LOVE Coffee and a leaf from Natures Treasures. I was also inspired by this weeks sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch!HERE and seen below…

Introducing… Background Blocks Stars and Background Builders: Seeing Stars

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the September product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 5 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

Yesterday we introduced Reach For The Stars and today, myself and my AWESOME Design Team are introducing TWO more clear stamp sets, Background Blocks Stars and Background Builders Seeing Stars. These two sets have so many fun possibilities and can be used and paired with all sorts of stamps and paper crafting goodies, including yesterdays clear stamp set!

Hopefully you have arrived from the Uniko Blogspot Blog HERE, where I shared two cards using the new clear stamp sets. I’ve two more cards to share with you, both with a slightly softer tone. First up is another card using Background Blocks Stars…

IntroBBlocksStars2a

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

This time I opted for a grey ombré look and I paired the background with some Simply Said Blocks sentiments stamped in pastel shades of Altenew ink.

IntroBBlocksStars2

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

The sentiments are mounted with foam adhesive and I went in and added some silver enamel stars too, for that extra interest and bling.

Lastly I have one more Background Builders: Seeing Stars card to share…

IntroBBSeeingStars2

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

This card was inspired by this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below, the stripe across the sketch was calling for some ombré stars and the circle element of the sketch a layered star!

FMS Final 304-001

I used my MISTI tool to stamp the solid ombré stars stripes, going from light to dark, as this saves having to clean your stamp between each colour 😉 The die cut star is a Sizzix Framelits star die and I have stamped and off centred one of the larger single stars from the clear stamp set. The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks and I again finished the design off with some Stampin’ Up! enamel stars!

IntroBBSeeingStars2a

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

That’s all from me here, but be sure to hop along all the Design Team blogs and leave a comment along the way, as you never know you might just win a random prize! I know for sure that you won’t be disappointed the Design Team have created a bountiful wealth of inspiration 🙂

Un Accueil Chaleureux (A Warm Welcome)…

Hello & Happy Weekend!

Today I am delighted to be introducing you to the newest member of the Design Team. I am sure that this person will not be a stranger to the majority of Uniko followers and to those who join in on the Uniko and “Less is More” Challenges!

So without further ado I would like you all to give Izzy from Izzy Scrap a warm welcome 🙂

Hi, I’m Izzy. For those who already know me, you know how much I love the Uniko stamps so when I received Bev’s email asking me if I’d like to join the DT, I was just over the moon and I am still now. I’m so proud and so very delighted to be joining the wonderful and creative Uniko Design Team. I live in Le Mans in France with my amazing lovely hubby and our two teenagers (16 and 13) plus our two cats. They are my first fervent supporters (the cats too !). I bought my first crafting supplies (1 rubber stamp, 3 embossing pens and 1 embossing powder, using my halogen lamp to heat emboss !) about 20 years ago to make my own Christmas cards ! But I really started to craft in 2010 when we were abroad. I started with scrapbooking but I rapidly switched to cards. When we came back to France, my husband and children urged me to make my own blog, that’s what I did in May 2016. Since then I enjoy making cards and visiting blogs where I find my inspiration. I’d like to think that my style is rather CAS and I try to find my own style. I’m so happy to belong to this community so rich of wonderful people, full of artists and I’m very thankful to be part of it. It’s a nice way to meet new friends and it’s a great experience !

If you are unfamiliar with Izzy’s style, here are a trio of cards Izzy has made to inspire you using a variety of Uniko clear stamps…

Background Blocks – Horizontal Stripe & Fun Flowers

Pure Florals: Gerbera (Back In Stock Tuesday) and Happy Succulents

Pure Florals: Poinsettia & Background Builders: Christmas (Retired, but may make a reappearance this upcoming festive season!)

How fabulous are these? I am sure you’ll be as excited as myself to have Izzy part of the team and are looking forward to seeing the inspiration she has to offer. For more details on these creations and to see more of Izzy’s work be sure to head on over HERE.

I thought I would make a card for the occasion too and this is what I came up with…

Welcome1Having seen one of the cards Izzy made, I was inspired to ink up Fun Flowers. I was also inspired by the current CAS(E) this Sketch! sketch seen HERE and below, specifically Hannelie’s card HERE too.

CTS_235

To stamp the stripes I used both the ‘official’ side of the line stamp from Background Builders: Squared and the ‘unofficial’ reverse side of the stamp to achieve a thicker line. The ‘welcome’ sentiment is from Sweet Baby and I accentuated the flower with some Stampin’ Up! Enamel Dots.Welcome1aI also used the colours from this weeks CAS C0lours & Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.

CC&S color236-001

Thank you & welcome Izzy

June 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

It’s time for another Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY! As June isn’t a release month, the Design Team and I are here today to revisit and give some fresh inky love to a previously released clear stamp set.

This month I decided to dust off and revisit the previously released Originally Organic clear stamp set and also take the opportunity to get a closer look at the matching dies too!

This clear stamp set was released last year HERE and was and still is hugely popular. Now with the matching dies, it has even more possibilities.

As usual I have picked a couple of my ‘old’ favourites using this set and I am sharing them over HERE at the start of the hop as I have LOTS of  fresh inspiration for you…

  OrganicRevisit2     {Click Photo For A Closer Look}

My first two cards use my favourite image from the set and were created at the same time and have an a Ying & Yang feel to them.

OrganicRevisit2a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

This first card was created by using the matching die to create a stencil and apply the rainbow of distress ink through it, creating a one layer card. The coordinating image and sentiment were placed and stamped using the MISTI. A few of my favourite enamel dots were added to finish the card off.

OrganicRevisit1

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

My second card was created as a result of a boo boo on my first one layer card. I dropped one of my inked stamps onto it and so instead of wasting the image I die cut it out. This time I thought it would be fun to add the rainbow image to a black card base with a white heat embossed sentiment. As my black card off cut was slightly thinner width wise of my usual card bases, I layered it onto a white base to add simple contrast and detail down the left hand side. Again I added my favourite enamel dots were added to finish.

OrganicRevisit1a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

Next I wanted to use the die to match a couple of the smaller stamps in the set…

OrganicRevisit3

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

This card has an almost Lily Pad feel to it as if you were looking at the edge of a pond with the reeds peeking from behind the die cut curve.

OrganicRevisit3a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

This nicely lead onto my next card, which again uses some of the smaller stamps contained in the set. This time I was inspired by and combined a couple of challenges…

OrganicRevisit4

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

First up the layout of my card is from the current CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge HERE and seen below and my colour choice from the current Color Throwdown HERE and seen below.

CTS_225

swatch446

I kept things really simple and minimal embellishment due to using an all over pattern. The stitched frame die is from Stampin’ Up!

OrganicRevisit4a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

Lastly I couldn’t end the post without using the other large and main image from the set and the matching dies to go with it!

OrganicRevisit5

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

Again I kept the design simple, letting the floral design and sentiment take the stage. What I especially like about this card is the layers of dimension. The stem and leaves die cut is adhered to the white mat layer using thin foam adhesive and then the flowers are adhered using the normal thicker foam adhesive. I then achieved more depth by stamping the floral stamens onto the white mat layer.

OrganicRevisit5a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

I added some subtle sparkle to the leaves with Clear Wink Of Stella, a trio of pearls and some tiny dots of Nuvo Glitter Drops to the stamens.

OrganicRevisit5c

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

I hope I have inspired you with my projects today, but now it’s time to hand you over to the Uniko Design Team….

Uniko Challenge #41

Hey!

Welcome to the May/June 2017 Uniko challenge, this month HERE we have the following challenge…

Cards for men are always a bit tricky and there’s Father’s Day coming very soon so we thought this theme would be a good opportunity to get some male themed cards into your stash.

 Challenge Guidelines:

* You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products. Plus, there is an extra chance to win a prize if you do 😉

* Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!

* Share the challenge graphic in your post and link back to the challenge if possible 😉

This month we have the winner of Challenge #39 the awesomely talented Hannelie joining us as our Guest Designer.

Here’s her amazing card:

Fabulous isn’t it? Love how she’s used Uniko stamps in such a unique way. Be sure to pop on over to her blog HERE and leave her some love.

This is what I came up with…

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

Uniko Explosion! and Explosion! Additions clear stamp sets are perfect for creating Masculine cards and with the images and bold sentiments making a card with them is a breeze. Even more so when your creative energy and motivation in general has disappeared like mine seems to have!

As I knew what stamps I was wanting to use I turned to one of my favourite sketch challenges to help spark a little more creativity, Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 288-001

My colour scheme was fairly easy to come up with, as I had recently purchased some blue shades of Altenew inks and they needed a test drive! I started out by stamping the halftone explosion in Ocean Waves and then sliced the stamped layer as seen in the sketch.

USC#41a

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

Then I stamped the explosion onto a separate piece of white card using Altenew Dusk ink and fussy cut it out. I added a little dimension to both the explosion and the BAM! sentiment and added a little bit of clear Wink of Stella for a little interest and subtle sparkle.

USC#41b

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

That’s all from me, I hope I have inspired you to join in?! If you need a little more inspiration please hop on over HERE to see what the Design Team have created.

AND just in case you need some more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes. As I said at the beginning of the post, I have changed the length and frequency of the challenge. The challenges are FIVE weeks long, giving us a total of SIX challenges this year.

THE PRIZES

  • Random Twist Winner – £4 In Stock Clear Stamp Set of Winners Choosing
  • Random Uniko Stamps Winner – £4 In Stock Clear Stamp Set of Winners Choosing

Back In Action!

Hey!

Apologies for being absent for such a long time, my mojo seemed to have a min break and Oh my, what a busy couple of weeks! We are now settling back into our ‘normal’ routine after Easter Break. Thankfully today has worn the beans out and they were flat out in five minutes of going to bed – whooohooo!

That meant I had a little ‘extra’ time to sit, create and get my mojo back into action to create a card to share with you…

CTS#218

{Click Photo to Enlarge}

Uniko Style, which I’ve used on the card is finally back in stock – YAY! Background Blocks Halftone, Decorative Doilies The Hands of Time, Flower Power #3 AND Natures Treasures II are also back in stock – YAY! Plus I have more restocks arriving early next week too AND I’ve the May Release to play with this week too 😉 keep your eyes peeled for some sneaky sneak peeks!

CTS#218b

{Click Photo to Enlarge}

Anyway, back to my card. I’ve used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below as a jumping point and used my ‘go to’ Altenew ink colours as they are so good for layering and take away the hard thinking work!

CTS_218

The sentiment is from Simply Said and I added a few Stampin’ Up! enamel dots to embellish. The sentiment strip is raised on foam pads and these are Stix2 Anything and they come in a hand 1mm thickness which I have used as well as the standard 2mm thickness.

CTS#218a

{Click Photo to Enlarge}

Ok, that’s all I have to share with you all tonight, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, why not check out the Design Team Inspiration Rahmat is sharing over HERE, you’re sure to be inspired 🙂
