Celebrating 12 Years – Introducing… Mid Century Modern Birthday

Happy Thursday 😃

Welcome to Day 2 of the 12th Birthday/February Release product introductions. This release we are adding to Uniko’s ever popular Mid Century Modern Collection, along with our unique Ink & Flip Stencil series, which we kicked things off with yesterday HERE

Today however, we are Introducing… Mid Century Modern Birthday. Let’s have a look at this clear stamp set in action.

For my first card I was excited to combine Mid Century Modern Birthday with the popular Background Blocks Linear.

I started by stamping the block along the edge of my card and after selecting a trio of colours, Lilac, Marmalade and Grape Soda. I matched as close as I could to Copic markers and coloured random blocks.

Next I stamped my little gifts and actually chose a sentiment combination from the clear stamp set being introduced tomorrow 😉 and assembled my card. A bit of fussy cutting, but you know how I love it!

My second card today I chose to go bold and sentiment only. My chosen colours also give it a masculine feel.

As you can see I repeat stamped the HAPPY sentiment across my Dove card panel in black ink. I then stamped the BIRTHDAY in Oceanside ink and again in VersaMark to be able to heat emboss with some WOW Sparkle EP.

The result, a simple card that packs a punch of impact.

You know me, when I can’t decide on a colour combo, I go rainbow! That’s what I used for my next card.

This clear stamp set features elements intended to ‘build’ gifts. But really the creative possibilities are endless. The Brand Ambassadors have demonstrated this perfectly. We all see things in different creative ways. Here I decided to create a geometric design down the edge of my card. Simply just having fun with the shapes and colours.

I finished this one layer card with the large WISHES sentiment and opted to pair it with the fancy script happy from Happy Days.

During my YouTube introduction video HERE, I created my next card. I had an idea in my head and just went with it.

I built my stamped gifts with colours and black ribbon and bows. Finishing off with some Cobblestone enamel dots and Copic colouring to the middle bow. My sentiment choice is from Simply Said Blocks.

That’s all I have today using this clear stamp set. But I will be sharing more later this week.

This clear stamp set, along with all the products being introduced this week will be available 9am GMT Sunday 18th January 2024.

2023 July/August Reveal, Release, Brand Ambassador Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hello, Happy Sunday AND Happy New Release Day!

I’m super excited to share these new products with you and they are now officially available to purchase over HERE on the website. For the formal introductions and all the Brand Ambassador blog links, head on over HERE.

Be sure to leave some comment love either on their blogs or social media. I will be randomly selecting a winner to win the entire release and will announce the winner Saturday 26th August 2023.

Let’s have a look at these products in action a bit more…

I’m starting with Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder and I wanted to show how these clear stamps have more than a festive use to them. The wreath as you can see can be used for more than just Christmas, I also see sunshine rays!

And I was inspired to pair it with our Stencil – Cloud 9 and a sentiment from Sunshine & Rainbows.

This lead me onto my next card.

Still thinking of sunshine, it reminded me of flowers and sunshine, so I had to pair it with Mid Century Modern Florals.

And I think they pair pretty nicely, even if I do say so myself. As you can see I added some glitter to the inside of the outline wreath.

Keeping with the non festive theme and wreaths on the brain, I turned the Mid Century Modern Christmas triangle geometric into a rainbow wreath for this fun birthday card.

It’s not very often I make a slimline card, but I had so much fun making these wreaths I made two! The centre is decorated with the bow from Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder which are stamped in black and hear embossed with stardust embossing powder.

My sentiment is from Floral Vines paired with the NEW Everyday Family.

For my second card I wanted to recreate this card HERE, paring the same stamp as above with the Bauhaus Blocks.

I overhung the triangles off the edge of my card, keeping them the same size on the left, but altering the size on the right. I then left space at the bottom for one of the blocks and a sentiment.

Lastly for today I had to get festive with my cards. First using Mid Century Modern Baubles, firstly creating a monochrome one layer card.

A simple bit of masking and Copic colouring finished with some clear Wink of Stella.

My next bauble card was inspired by Vinita’s second card HERE, to combine the Stencil – MOD Background Builder.

I started by lightly stencilling the design in the background using Pebble ink. I then stamped and coloured 3 baubles using the reverse masking technique again.

Finally I embellished the baubles with some more elements from the set and mixed and matched a sentiment using the Happy from Mid Century Modern Frames.

One last card as I couldn’t not use the new Ink & Flip Stencil or the Background Block Arts Décoratifs Christmas, so combined them on one card. This was inspired by one of Steph’s cards today HERE.

I started by inking the stencil just the once on my standard size card 10.5 x 14 cm in Poppy ink. But I wanted it slightly darker so went over softly with Cranberry ink.

I then inked and stamped the background block twice so I could colour and fussy cut the main focal Christmas tree out. Which after selectively colouring some of the second stamped background block red, I adhered the Christmas tree with foam tape. And lastly added the fussy cut bow from MCM Wreath Builder, coloured in red.

My aim was to create a card that looked like a gift with a gift tag & bow.

Phew! What a mammoth post. I hope you have enjoyed this release?

Happy shopping and hope to see you over on Facebook at 7pm this evening. I will be taking a look at the new products, along with making a card or two in the live. Don’t worry if you can’t make it or you don’t do Facebook, I will be saving and uploading the video to YouTube.

Introducing… Mid Century Modern Christmas

Welcome to Day 2 of the product introductions for our July/August Release.

Hopefully you didn’t miss yesterdays product introduction, but if you did you can catch up HERE. Today myself and the Brand Ambassadors are showcasing another of the new additions to the Mid Century Modern series with Mid Century Modern Christmas.

If you love the Mid Century Modern series as much as I do, I think you will love this new addition and I am sure you will have fun pairing it with lots of the current and new products in this series.

Thos who know me well, know I get smitten with fonts and this is one that I have uniquely adapted to have a Mid Century Modern look to it is one I have added to my list.

Here, on this first card I have used the smaller version from yesterdays introduction. But you will see further along today the larger version of two sentiments contained in this small A7 clear stamp set. Along with this fun Christmas tree design.

I love a geometric too! So although this has a Christmas tree intention to it, there are lots of other uses for this stamp!

My second card shows the size difference of the sentiments. The Merry is from todays set and the Christmas is from yesterdays set.

I created a colourful cascade of the Merry and added a fussy cut Christmas in black. Then added a trio of Christmas stars.

Lastly for today I used the full large sentiment. Apologies from the get go, it appears I had my wonky eyes on when adhering the sentiment with foam tape!

The diamond square accent I have used on the background is from another clear stamp set we are introducing later this week. But I couldn’t resist pairing it with the sentiment and Christmas tree.

Another fun set to add to the Mid Century Modern collection and I am excited to see the combinations the Brand Ambassadors have come up with and even more so what YOU come up with!

Don’t forget to hop along with the Brand Ambassadors HERE.

Introducing… Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder

Welcome to Day 1 of the product introductions for our July/August Release.

Today myself and the Brand Ambassadors are showcasing one of the new additions to the Mid Century Modern series with this fun wreath builder clear stamp set.

If you love the Mid Century Modern series as much as I do, I think you will love this new addition and I am sure you will have fun pairing it with lots of the current products in this series. Plus, on Release Day I will be showing more uses for this set, than just festive cards!

But first, let’s have a look at this stamp set in action…

For my first card I’ve gone for a 14 x 14 cm card base. The wreath is approximately 8.5 x 9 cm, so it doesn’t get ‘lost’ on a big card, but also fits nicely on a standard size card, as you will see.

The wreath comes in separate solid and outline stamps, but they are not the same. This is so they can be stamped layered like I have easily. Plus I think it creates interest and options with them being different.

I’ve added one of the sentiment options from the set, which I have fussy cut. Then I have embellished with some berries and the holly leaves also from the set.

For my next card I wanted to pair the wreath with some older, but much loved and ever popular Mid Century Modern products.

As you know I am a clean and simple card maker, but I love pattern too. Often it can be tricky getting balance of incorporating lots of white space and adding pattern. So to keep the balance the trick is to think about the card layout and techniques you can use to achieve the clean & simple style.

‘Some’ would say that this isn’t clean & simple. But we all have our own interpretations of the word and style and to me this fits on the upper end!

As you can see I used just the solid wheat for this card and overlapped them in Concord & 9th Sprout & Parsley inks. I then used a pencil to lightly draw a line where I wanted to cut straight and then around the wreath to reveal my base card.

I used Concord & 9th Cranberry card for the base and stamped the Background Block Mid Century Modern in Cranberry ink for a tone on tone effect. Again I have embellished with a fussy cut sentiment, holly leaves and berries.

Lastly for today I have another card pairing previously released Mid Century Modern products…

This card is sentiment heavy! I’ve used 5 of the 6 sentiments from the set on this one card! I wanted the sentiment to be the focus and the holly leaves to be the accent.

But I also wanted some Mid Century Modern pattern so opted for this layout and used Background Blocks Mid Century Modern II.

Fun, right?

These 3 cards only scratch the surface of the potential this clear stamp set holds. I know the Brand Ambassadors have worked their creative magic with this stamp set too, so be sure to head HERE and hop along.

I can’t wait to show you more of this set later in the week and coming weeks! Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

January 2023 Release, Brand Ambassador Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Hello, Happy Friday 13th AND Happy January 2023 New Release Day!

I’m super excited to share these new products with you and they are now officially available to purchase HERE over on the website.

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, where I have formally introduced the new products and you can find all the Brand Ambassador links.

Enough talk, as I know you are here for the inspiration!

First up I went for a modern, retro, ‘mix media’ style card combining the NEW Background Block Linear and Mid Century Modern Frames paired with the Stencil – Mid Century Modern Shapes, burst from Mid Century Modern Florals, trio of dots from Floral Vines and sentiment from Everyday Sentiments.

I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. I opted for my usual trio of colours and inked the two largest blobs from the stencil. I then went in and added some star bursts, little dots and partial stamping of the new background. I finished off with some out of my comfort zone ink splatters and a tiny bit of glitter sparkle to the outline dots.

I think this card pretty much shows how the Mid Century Modern collection can be brought together to make a pretty fun card!

Next I opted for a bit more of a clean and simple design.

This time I opted for some zesty greens to ink the Stencil – MOD Background Builders Circles. A little bit of masking to ink the darker shade for the striped areas.

I decided to pair it with another of the Mid Century Modern Frames to create a clean & simple masculine card. I popped the frame up with foam adhesive and added a few Nuvo Drop accents.

Lastly for today I had to use Mid Century Modern Purrfect Day!

This time I paired the solid kitty with Background Blocks Linear. I absolutely love adding this colour treatment to the block. I think it adds the fun element without overwhelm.

I added a little fine liner collar to the cat and added a little rhinestone gem for a tiny bit of sparkle.

That’s all from me today, but I can guarantee you will be seeing more of these new products!

Don’t forget to leave a comment and visit the Brand Ambassador blogs/social media, as I will be randomly selecting one lucky winner to receive the ENTIRE RELEASE. I will announce the winner Saturday 21st January 2023.

I hope you like the new products and have enjoyed the fun over the past few days. Be sure to stick around over the coming week/s as I have so much more to share!

Until then, happy shopping 😉

Introducing… Mid Century Modern Frames

Hello & Happy Wednesday,

Welcome to Day 2 of the January 2023 Release Introductions.

Today the Brand Ambassadors and myself are here to get you over that mid week hump with some fun inspiration. There is no denying that I love the shapes and patterns of this era in design & I think this frame set with mix & match sentiments brings another fabulous addition encompassing this.

Let’s have a look how I have used this new clear stamp set…

First up I opted for a Kraft card base over my usual white. I wasn’t lying yesterday when I said you would see more of the Background Block Linear! I’ve stamped that lengthways across the top section of my card in black ink.

I’ve then stamped and fussy cut one of the three frames from the set, added my sentiment and coloured the frame using Copic Markers. I’ve adhered the frame using foam adhesive and added a few enamel dots from my stash to finish.

For my second card I chose another of the frames and sentiment choices. This time I stamped the frame onto a white card panel. I then used a pencil & ruler to mark a column to trim of a section and around the image to reveal my stencilled base card pattern.

I opted for the Stencil – Mid Century Modern Squares, that I have stencilled with Concord & 9th Sorbet ink onto Sorbet card for a tone on tone effect. I used Copic Markers to colour the frame and in hindsight I wish I had left a little more white on the frame.

The white panel is then adhered to the sorbet card base using foam adhesive.

Just the two cards today showcasing this set, but I know the Brand Ambassadors have created wonderful inspiration to share. Be sure to hop along HERE and check out their socials to see.

We will be back tomorrow with more to share with the final two products and all the products will be available at 10am GMT Friday 13th January 2023.

Introducing… Stencil MOD Background Builder

Hello, Happy Monday & No Tricks, Just Treats, I Promise!

Welcome to the first of the introductions for this mini stencil release. I am super excited about this first stencil for a few reasons.

Firstly the design, it is a fun modern design that when I designed it, I had our Mid Century Modern Collection in mind. But as you will see from the all the inspiration today, it pairs with so many products wonderfully.

Let’s have a look at this stencil in action…

For my first card today I wanted to use the stencil as part of my focal point paired with a flower built using Mid Century Modern Florals.

I love this colour combo, shades of black, grey and a splash of orange. I finished the card off with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II and some orange Nuvo Drops.

For my second card I wanted to use just the stencil and show you how it can fill a whole background.

The stencil is designed to easily move and fill your space. I will share a video on how to use it, but simply I started with the stencil centred on my card and then moved it up, down and side to side until it was fully covered.

I then added a sentiment & accent from the stencil which I have inked & fussy cut. The sentiment is from Everyday Sentiments and adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

So what do you think? Do you love it as much as I do? Want to see more inspiration, be sure to check out the Brand Ambassador Blog Hop HERE.

This stencil along with the others we will be introducing over the next few days will be available on the website 9am GMT Thursday 3rd November.

As it’s Halloween, I am giving one lucky comment left across social media a chance to win their choice of stencil from the website. You have until midnight Thursday 10th November 2022 to comment.

A Stitch In Time – Craft Stamper Magazine

Happy Friday!

Today I am super happy to share with you a few sneak peeks from the latest issue of Craft Stamper magazine, which hit the stores today.

My feature in the magazine is a series of four projects that are inspired by my love for the 1950s & 1960s that incorporate the trendy technique of pairing stitch with papercraft & stamping supplies.

Below are a few sneak peeks of the projects and I have linked to all the Uniko clear stamps I have used at the end of the post too.

Mixed Media is not a style I would say I am comfortable with, it pushes me out of my comfort zone, BIG time!

I have a love for stitch, though it is not a craft I have done for a while and you know I have a passion for card making and paper crafts, so by chance when making my first project for the feature I combined the two and continued the theme of stitch for all of the projects.

It is definitely something I will be having a go of again in the near future and sharing here on the blog.

I will share a few more photos from the feature on social media once my copy of the magazine has arrived. If you would like to get a copy of the magazine, head on over HERE to find out where and how you can buy it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Woohoo – Mid Century Modern Restocks!

Happy Hump Day!

My hump day has added cheer today, with some Mid Century Modern restocks that arrived in the studio late yesterday afternoon! So today I managed to squeeze in a little creative time and inked up two of my favourites from the April/May 2019 Release 😉

MCMrestock1

Doesn’t it feel good to finally execute an idea you’ve had stored up in your head?! I’ve had this card layout idea using Mid Century Modern Florals for ages! I’ve used a trio of Altenew pink inks for the hash circle (Baby Pink, Fuchsia and Magenta). I’ve also used a trio of Altenew grey inks for the scalloped outline to the flowers (Grey Denim, Cloudy Night and Charcoal Suit).

MCMrestock1a

I’ve used one of the sentiments from Birthday Wishes and some Liquid Mercury Nuvo Drops to embellish the design – just still in LOVE with Nuvo Drops!

Next I HAD to ink up Background Blocks Mid Century Modern

MCMrestock2

I still can’t quite believe how popular this stamp has been since I released it last month! If you were waiting for it to come back in stock before you ordered it, be quick as there are only a few left! I will be ordering more, but it’s going to be another couple of weeks before I get them.

Okay, for this card I was inspired by this weeks colours over at CAS Colours & Sketches seen HERE and below. Such yummy soft pastels and something a little more feminine for this stamp.

324

I’ve used Altenew Volcano Lake instead of Pool Party, which the background is stamped in. I then used Gery Denim for the burst stamp from Mid Century Modern Florals or Kindness Blooms! I’ve trimmed the stamped panel on an angle and adhered it to my card base using foam adhesive.

MCMrestock2a

The HAPPY is the MFT Happy Birthday die and I have die cut it from a different white card to my card base, making it stand out a little more. The Birthday sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks and stamped in Altenew Baby Pink for Powder Pink. I’ve then finished the design with some Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Drops for the challenge third colour.

That’s all I had time to make today, hoping to find LOTS of creative time tomorrow as I am Bean free! I best get to packing a couple more orders tonight so I can 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

April / May 2019 Reveal, Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

Finally the day has arrived and the April / May 2019 Reveal, Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY is here! The Release will be available to purchase HERE at a NEW time of 9pm GMT tonight.

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, where I have formally introduced the 4 new Clear Stamp Set designs, 2 coordinating Designer Die collections AND 1 Stencil Design being released.

I’ve made a couple more cards using the new products, not as many as I had hoped to make, but I do feel I am getting back into the creative groove again…

MayRD1

My first card uses the Designer Dies English Country Garden Butterflies. I’ve been wanting to pair the butterfly with the Large French Script Background for ages and it seemed the perfect time now I had the dies to match. They give such a love clean cut edge compared to fussy cutting!

MayRD1a

I still have a thing for shades of grey! Hence my colour scheme, though I did add in a little hint of aqua for the butterfly body and some Nuvo Drop detail. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Birthday Sentiments, which is now back in stock.

My last card today was inspired by a couple of things. Firstly the Double Challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches seen HERE and below.

double 319

And secondly by Jenny’s card HERE our Guest Designer for this release. I just loved how Jenny thought to cut up the Background Block Mid Century Modern II. So I did the same, this time using it for the top and bottom border in the sketch.

MayRD2

I simply stamped the Background Block Mid Century Modern II in black and coloured the outline sections with the closest colours to the challenge as I had. I then got to fussy cutting the sections out and adhered them to my card base using some new Gina K Connect Glue – LOVE! Thanks for the recommendation Lynda 😉

MayRD2a

The sentiment is another from Birthday Sentiments and I’ve accented it with a flower from Mid Century Modern Florals and some of my favourite Gloss White Nuvo Drops!

That’s all from me today, but as usual we have our traditional Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway. To be in the chance of winning The ENTIRE April / May 2019 Release! (4 clear stamp sets, 2 previously released clear stamp sets, 2 co-ordinating designer die collections & 1 stencil design).

Simply comment along the blog hop, it’s as easy as that! You have until Midnight Sunday 12th May 2019. Winner will be announced a few days after.

Happy Hopping!

Hugs
