Uniko’s 7th Birthday Linky Party!

Woohoo!

It’s time for some celebrating! This month at Uniko we are celebrating our 7th Birthday and I am kicking the celebrations off today with a party!

It wouldn’t be a birthday celebration without a PARTY, right?

Okay, enough chit chat, how about some inspiration…

I dusted off a couple of sets for this card, Background Builders: Seeing Stars and Balloon Bash. I used my MISTI tool to stamp both the diagonal ombre star stripes and the ombre balloon. I drew the ballon string with a fine liner as I wanted a nice crisp string! The sentiment is from Simply Said.

The layout of my card was is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below. This is one of my favourite challenges to join in on when I can 🙂

Next I wanted to try out a new glimmer paste that arrived in the post, Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Moonstone. My goodness, this stuff is lush! Just look at the shine…

This time as I wanted to use the paste through a Uniko Stencil I used the Balloon Bash stencil. I started out with the round pink balloon and used Altenew Cherry Blossom collection inks to achieve the ombre effect.

I then masked off the pink balloon to layer the larger balloon behind inked up in Altenew Sweet Dreams collection. I then went back and placed the stencil over the smaller round balloon to

apply the glimmer paste. Now, usually I struggle with applying pastes on a large surface, but this stuff… this stuff glides on beautifully!

This time I was inspired to join in on another favourite challenge, AAA Cards HERE and seen below. For this challenge they want you to use a third of your card (so leaving a third of your card with white space) & an optional twist of masking.

Introducing… Pure Florals: Lily

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the May product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 4 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

On Wednesday HERE we introduced 2 new Background Block clear stamps and yesterday HERE we introduced a new clear stamp set called Happy Succulents. Be sure to pop by and hop along with the team!

Today we are introducing an addition to the Pure Florals clear stamp set range, Pure Florals: Lily and I have shared a little bit about the designing of this set over HERE at the start of the hop.

With that I have a couple of cards to share using the set…

For this first card I wanted a bright, cheery rainbow background! I started by stamping and masking off the 3 lilies and then used my distress inks and Clarity Stencil Brushes to create the background. I then added a sentiment from Originally Organic and used my PrismaColour Pencils to add a little colour and depth to the flowers.

I’ve one more card to share before I hand you over to the design team and prepare to be WOWed by them, they really have worked wonders with this set and I am jealous of all their colouring skills!

Again I reached for my ink blending tools, something I didn’t think I would do very often and here we are two cards in a row! This time I used Altenew inks and applied them ink a circular motion so the colours radiated from the centre of the Lily.

I stamped the same full Lily onto my base card and created a mat layer using a MFT stitched die. The sentiment is a mix from Pure Florals: Lily and Simply Said.

Stamp Of The Week – Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

Hey!

A new week and a NEW Stamp Of The Week! This week I am dusting off… Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

Todays card is one that I have been ‘planning’ to make for some time now, one of those I ‘want to make’ cards but never seem to get round to making! Today was the day though and here it is…

It’s a really simple card using the two smaller Chrysanthemum stamps in the set. Even though it is just a randomly layered stamping card in two colours with just a section masked for the sentiment, I had a few attempts with my stamping tonight!

Ok, that’s all from me tonight, not much to say about my card really and I think the beans have worm me out! Stamp Of The Week – Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

Hey!

A new week and a NEW Stamp Of The Week! This week I am dusting off… Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

Todays card is another that we made at the class on Saturday at The Paperlane and is one of my favourites…

I like colouring and especially with my Prismacolor Pencils, they look awesome on Kraft card stock, especially bright yellows and oranges.

This took quite a bit of stamping, embossing in detail white EP and masking, I started with the small outline bloom and then each of the leaves. I then spent probably about 30+ minutes colouring them in. Starting with the lighter shades and adding details with the medium and dark shades and then going back in blending with the lightest.

I kept the sentiment, other embellishments and details simple, so not to take any focus away from the beautiful flower.

As I have done some colouring, I am entering it into Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Colour Challenge HERE.

Have You Joined Us Yet?

Hey!

I’m back today to remind you that you still have time to join in our current challenge. This month we have another fun one for you to try with another optional twist too.

You can use any stamps/products to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko goodies and if you do there is an extra chance to win a prize! Also you can do a card in any style, it doesn’t have to be CAS.

This fortnight we have 2 lovely an awesomely talented Guest Designers joining us, Darnell & Wiebke. Be sure to stop on by their blogs and have a look around at their creations. You won’t be disappointed, I know that for sure.

I used the colours of the photo and florals in the garden as my inspiration…

I stamped and masked the outline flower from Beautiful Blooms II in a selection of VersaMagic colours onto an angled panel of white CS, this panel is adhered to a Soft Stone CS base. I then stamped a single flower and duo of leaves and fussy cut them out and adhered them to the corner of the angled panel using foam adhesive. The sentiment is from A Gift For You.

The current CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers HERE is masking, so I am linking up over there too 🙂
