Introducing… Pure Florals: Lily

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the May product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 4 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

On Wednesday HERE we introduced 2 new Background Block clear stamps and yesterday HERE we introduced a new clear stamp set called Happy Succulents. Be sure to pop by and hop along with the team!

Today we are introducing an addition to the Pure Florals clear stamp set range, Pure Florals: Lily and I have shared a little bit about the designing of this set over HERE at the start of the hop.

With that I have a couple of cards to share using the set…

For this first card I wanted a bright, cheery rainbow background! I started by stamping and masking off the 3 lilies and then used my distress inks and Clarity Stencil Brushes to create the background. I then added a sentiment from Originally Organic and used my PrismaColour Pencils to add a little colour and depth to the flowers.

I’ve one more card to share before I hand you over to the design team and prepare to be WOWed by them, they really have worked wonders with this set and I am jealous of all their colouring skills!

Again I reached for my ink blending tools, something I didn’t think I would do very often and here we are two cards in a row! This time I used Altenew inks and applied them ink a circular motion so the colours radiated from the centre of the Lily.

I stamped the same full Lily onto my base card and created a mat layer using a MFT stitched die. The sentiment is a mix from Pure Florals: Lily and Simply Said.
Ok, that’s all from me, but be sure to hop along the rest of the design team via the links below…

Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

Apologies for my lack of posting recently, my creative mojo seemed to disappear as soon as the sunshine arrived. Anyway, I am back (for now) with a little creative mojo and a new Stamp Of The Week.

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II

NaturesTreasuresIIPP copy

This set was and still is one of my favourite and definitely a ‘go to’ set when I need some leaves. It pairs wonderfully with loads of Uniko clear stamp sets, but can also be used on its own like I have done for todays card, apart from the sentiment from Simply Said Birthday

2016SOTW73

I have been enjoying the technique of ink blending recently with my new Clarity Stencil Brushes and so with the current AAA Cards challenge HERE and seen below is to use a stash favourite I decided to ink them up for the challenge.

#69

Not a huge amount to say about my card, I simply blended my Tim Holtz Mini Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers on a piece of Whisper White CS.

2016SOTW73a

I then stamped all of the leaves along the edge of my card in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them in detail white embossing powder. I then fussy cut around the leaves and adhered the panel to a thick Whisper White CS base.

A really quick and CAS card, just the way I like it!

Ok, that’s all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share using this set. Don’t forget that the set is discounted HERE for this week only.

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by 🙂

Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #2

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Flower Power #2

Clear Stamps

This set is one of my all time favourite flowers, it is originally based on a cherry blossom. The set has recently come back in stock and so I decided I would dust it off and give it some more love.

This is how I decided to use it today…

2016SOTW61

As usual I was inspired by a couple of challenges! First up my colour combination is from the new ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below.

348

I recently purchased some Clarity Stencil Brushes, as I have heard and seen so many great reviews on them. I’ve been wanting to get into and better at ink blending and use the stencils I own that have been sitting on my shelf for an age!

In the past I have used the sponges and applicator tools, but seem to get hard line/ink areas where I haven’t worked the blending in properly from the edges. I am impatient and gave up!

This card is only my second attempt at using the brushes and I am already happier with my results. My first attempt card using them can be seen HERE.

2016SOTW61a

I used a mixture of SU! inks for the yellow/orange flowers and a mix of Distress Ink and SU! ink for the turquoise flower. After blending the inks on some scrap pieces of card I heat embossed the outline flower using detail white and fussy cut them out. The leaves are a blend of SU! green inks and then I used Certainly Celery to stamp the stem and leaves, fussy cutting just so the leaves remained.

As the current “Less is More” challenge HERE is to use a stencil, I finally put my SU! one to use! I masked off the stencil leaving just 3 lines. I then used SU! Night Of Navy to apply the colour, making sure I applied the ink from the left side to make it darker and fade the ink across to the right. I still need plenty of practice, but overall I am happier with the results using the brushes.

Ok, that’s all from me tonight, I have had a busy day with the beans visiting a new play area and as much as it wore them out, it has done the same to me! I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Uniko Challenge #32

Hi!

Welcome to the May Uniko challenge.  We have another fun challenge HERE this month to spark your creativity…

This is a FUN themed challenge this month is to create a Masculine card.

We have also added in the optional twist of Fathers Day as it is just around the corner.

You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products.  And, if you do use Uniko, there’s an extra chance to win a prize. There is also an extra chance to win if you TWIST with us too 😉

Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!

This month we have another super Guest Designer joining us this month, Tanja from Little Art Cottage.

Hi there, my name is Tanja and I live in Germany with my wonderful husband, two children and three cats. I am addicted to stamping and paper crafting for a while now and I decided to start my own blog www.littleartcottage.blogspot.com in February 2014. I love to find new ways to use my supplies and try new techniques. Coloring and the design of little scenes are my favorite things to do. I love to make people happy with my projects and I sure hope that you will be one of them. I am super excited that I got the chance to be a guest designer at the Uniko Challenge and I can’t wait to see your creations in the gallery.

Tanja was the lucky winner from Challenge #30 and has created this beauty to inspire you…

Please checkout the challenge post HERE too, to see all the inspiration from the awesome Uniko Design Team too.

Ok, so onto my card…

USC#32

As you can see I went for a super CAS one layer card. Nautical Treasures is a perfect stamp set for quick masculine cards and I also wanted to give ink blending a little go again. I certainly need some practice at it 😉

USC#32a

As I have created a one layer card and with my nautical theme, it is also perfect for the current Less is More challenge HERE, which is a one layer week, with an AT SEA theme.

Less-Is-More-Header
