Introducing… Stencil Pure Florals Rose

Hello & Happy Thursday!

I am delighted you have stopped by today. Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE, the start of the fun!

I am so excited to be bringing a Mini Uniko Stencil Release this month and today myself and the Uniko Brand Ambassadors get to show you the new stencils in action.

I’m over the moon to be adding these NEW Uniko Stencils to the growing collection. If you missed the peeks and news about the release/s I shared yesterday, be sure to catch up HERE.

Let me introduce you to the next in the Pure Florals collection, Stencil Pure Florals Rose…

This is a 6 x 6 inch stencil, so the bloom is beautifully large like the Chrysanthemum and the Gerbera. And like the others this stencil coordinates with the previously released and popular Pure Florals Rose clear stamp set.

I’ve had SO much fun ‘playing’ with stencils, trying out some mixed media techniques and still keeping a CAS feel with some of them. Like this first card…

For this I used a piece of water colour card. I found some postcard sized pieces, perfect for cards. The make is Langton and the weight is 140g, so nice and sturdy.

For this I started out with my stencil on my work space with the design on the opposite side to the direction I wanted the rose to face on my card.

I then used water based markers (I used Stampin’ Up! as I have a good mix of colours) to colour the lines of the stencil and around the outside. No need to be super perfect at this as once you’ve coloured it, you spritz lightly with water.

Before you place your water colour card over the top, you want to give that a light brushing of water to wet the card. This helps transfer the ink a little more.

The result is a beautiful watercolour outline rose, which was lovely, but I felt it needed a little more definition. I placed the clean and dry stencil over the top and used a fine liner to carefully draw inside the stencil. To finish I mounted the piece onto a dark smokey grey card base and added the congratulations sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II.

Lastly for today I had a play with another fun technique and this time I remembered to take some photos of the process 😉

Hello Distress Oxide inks, it’s been a while 😂 This is a shadow stencilling technique and depending on the stencil you use, it can be quite subtle like it has turned out with this design.

Step 1 – Kraft card base. I used a 13 x 13 cm square. Temporarily adhere your card to your work space and place the stencil where you want the design to be. Ink the design with white pigment ink until you are happy with the coverage.

Step 2 – Remove & clean the stencil. Once clean & dry reposition the stencil leaving a small border. I moved mine up by about 1mm and across to the right by 1mm.

Step 3 – Start applying your chosen colours.

I am using Distress Oxide inks in Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade & Mustard Seed. I chose DOI because I find them smoother to blend. Though for this stencil I use sponge daubers instead of a brush as the stencil has large areas with delicate stencil details that can move quite easily.

Apply the colours of ink until you are happy, and then remove the stencil.

Hopefully you can see the subtle white shadow border it leaves on the design.

I kept this card sentiment free and simply mounted the stencilled piece onto a pink and purple card base.

That’s all from me today! Be sure to hop along with the Brand Ambassadors for more inspiration and I do hope you will pop by tomorrow for the next introduction.

Introducing… Stencil Abstract Triangles & Birthday Wishes

Hey!

Welcome to Day 2 of our 7th Birthday & February 2019 Release product introductions. How fun & colourful was yesterday? It sure brightened up my Wednesday! If you missed it, you can catch up HERE.

I’m back again today with my guest designer and the design team to show you LOTS of inspiration! This time we are introducing a new Stencil Abstract Triangles & Birthday Wishes Clear Stamp Set. Hopefully you have hopped on over from the start HERE where I have introduced these 2 new products a little.

How about a closer look at the cards I have made using them…

IntroDay2a

I had this crazy idea to rainbow the Abstract Triangle stencil and I am glad I did as the results are FAB! I used my Altenew Inks for this as I have more colours to choose from and I didn’t want to repeat the colours too much. It was just a matter of masking off each triangle to apply the colour and move onto the next.

IntroDay2f

I trimmed my card to exactly 6 x 6 ” and place my stencil central, this left a nice border around the edge. I layered it onto a black card base and added the BIG & BOLD Happy die cuts & clear stamp sentiment to finish the design.

Next I used the same technique of placing my stencil to create a border down the vertical sides. This time I used Distress Oxide Inks and I trimmed my panel horizontal to create a slightly raised panel when adhered to my base card.

IntroDay2b

I added a slight sprite of water to the ink blending, added another of the sentiments from Birthday Wishes and a trio of Nuvo Gloss White Drops.

IntroDay2e

Lastly I have one more card using Birthday Wishes and to continue the rainbow theme I created a watercolour rainbow block panel for my sentiment to be stamped onto.

IntroDay2c

I used smooth watercolour card, an acrylic block & Zig Clean Color Brush Pens. I coloured my acrylic block with the Zigs in a rainbow format, spritzed them and also my panel of watercolored card and stamped it in place. I had a little ink movement as I lifted, but still the results were good.

IntroDay2d

I used my MISTI tool to stamp the sentiment as even though the watercolour card is smooth, it still took a couple of stamps to get a crisp image. The trio of circle stamps are from yesterdays BIG & BOLD Happy clear stamp set and I also added some colourful Nuvo Drops to their centres.

That’s all I have to share today using these products, but I know Ruth our Guest Designer this month along with the Design Team have SO much more to share with you.

Hop on by to see what Ruth has created HERE and this is the order of the hop following Ruth…

Also, don’t forget the enter the HUGE giveaway over HERE to WIN Stamps For A Year! If you need help entering the giveaway as you don’t have a blog or social media to link, send me an email and I will assist you 🙂

Hello!

Today at Uniko we have a surprise stencil release!

Earlier this month Uniko was at Stamp Magic in Doncaster and I had 3 NEW stencil designs available to purchase at the show and I am super pleased they are NOW available HERE on the website.

Let’s have a look at the 3 new designs…

Uniko Stencil Bright Butterflies £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Uniko Stencil Scattered Polka Hexagons £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Uniko Stencil Mehndi Mandala £4.50, Copyright Uniko Ltd 2018, www.uniko.co.uk

Like with any new release here at Uniko we have a blog hop to celebrate and show you beautiful inspiration using the new products. I am super duper pleased to have a wonderful, talented and all round lovely crafter joining me and the Uniko Stencil DT us as our Guest Designer…. Ruth from Crafting While The Baby Naps. Hopefully you have hopped along from Ruth’s blog, but if not be sure to check out Ruth’s amazing inspiration HERE.

And as with all the Uniko Blog Hops we have a GIVEAWAY too! Simply comment along the hop for your chance to win one of the three stencil designs being released and as there are 3 new designs, I will randomly pick 3 lucky winners!!

Ok, how about some inspiration from myself using the new designs…

IntroMandalaStencil2

First up is the card in my sneak photo over on the Uniko Blogspot blog! I wanted to show how the Mehndi Mandala stencil can be paired with the large mandala clear stamp from Marvellous Mehndi.

IntroMandalaStencil2a

I started by inking my Mehndi Mandala with Distress Oxide Inks, in Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers. I then stamped the mandala from Marvellous Mehndi, fussy cutting it out and adding some Stampin’ Up! Dazzling Diamonds glitter to various sections. I’ve adhered it to my stencilled layer using 1mm thick foam adhesive.

IntroMandalaStencil2c

I’ve used the Mehndi Mandala stencil for my next card too, this time showing you more of the design…

IntroMandalaStencil1

Again I used Distress Oxide Inks, this time Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers. I offset mounted my stencilled layer with some black card and onto a white card base. The sentiment is from Simply Said and I added an old Stampin’ Up! embellishment.

IntroMandalaStencil1a

As I was on a roll with the colour combo of Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers I decided to use if for my Bright Butterflies card…

IntroBButterflyStencil1

I’d had the SU! Crumb Cake card stencilled with the design since Stamp Magic, but I didn’t know how I wanted to use it, until I saw this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below!

FMS Final 342-001

I layered my stencilled section with some scrap turquoise card from my stash and paired it with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II.

IntroBButterfliesStencil1a

Lastly, but by no means least I inked up the Scatted Polka Hexagons stencil…

IntroSPHstencil1

This is a fun geometric stencil and it pairs beautifully with the recently released Bee Happy clear stamp set. This time I used my new Catherine Pooler inks to blend through the stencil.

IntroSPHstencil1a

I used Tiara, Tiki Torch and Tutti Frutti from top to bottom. I then moved the position of the stencil slightly and used a fine liner to draw inside the polka hexagons to create a fun pattern.

IntroSPHstencil1b

To finish the design I trimmed my stencilled panel on the diagonal, die cut a large hexagon, big enough for my chosen sentiment from Bee Happy, which is stamped onto my base card. I’ve then embellished the card with a trio of fussy cut bees.

That’s all the inspiration I have to share with you today, but be sure to hop around the Stencil Design Team blogs below for even more. Don’t forget to comment too, to be in the chance of being a lucky winner!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Introducing… Block Party Christmas

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the October 2017 product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 5 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

Today, myself and my AWESOME Design Team are introducing the next in the Block Party series, Block Party Christmas.
IntroBPxmas2

Just like Block Party Birthday, the stamp is one BIG block, measuring 9.5 x 13 cm and it is a style of Subway Art. You might recognise some images from previously released and now retired clear stamp sets.

IntroBPxmas2a

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I kept my first card here really simple and hopefully letting the stamp take centre stage?! I simply stamped (a whole bunch) the image in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and set it aside to dry. I then decided to give my new trio of Distress Oxide inks and outing and created a simple ink blended background. To finish the card off I went and added glitter to most of the open images/words using my Quickie glue pen and Stampin’ Up glitter. I also added some small dots to the snowflakes for good measure 😉

For my last card today (which I nearly didn’t share as it isn’t my best make), I decided to do some heat embossing…

IntroBPxmas3

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

Again I used my MISTI tool to stamp the image in VersaMark ink and then heat embossed the image in Gold EP. I then trimmed the image to use just a small section of the block.

In hindsight I wish that I had kept it at that, but I decided to mess on and die cut a small Designer Die Snowflake (more details on these on Monday, unless you’ve been following me on Instagram/Facebook) and added some gold heat embossing to that too!

That’s all from me today using this stamp, but be sure to hop along all the Design Team blogs and leave a comment along the way, as you never know you might just win a random prize (in September random prizes were added to various release day orders). I know for sure that you won’t be disappointed the Design Team have created a bountiful wealth of inspiration 🙂

NBUS Challenge #12 and a BIG peek at something NEW!

Hey!

I can’t believe it’s day 9 of Darnell’s NBUS #12 Challenge and I am only ‘just’ finding some time to play along 🙁 Good new is I have an extra day to play along as it’s now on for 11 days!

button aqua use this the

Anyway, here’s what I’ve made using some NBUS…

NBUS#12a{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

So, I’ve had a trio of the Distress Oxide inks (Worn Lipstick, Broken China & Cracked Pistachio) for quite a while now and I’ve not really had chance to ‘play’ with them and experiment with blending them. That was until last week when I received a newly design Uniko product to test, Uniko Stencils!! This got me all inspired to test drive the inks with this new stencil 🙂

Yep, you are getting the first real look at ‘one’ of the new stencil designs being released this month! With the popularity of the recently released Background Blocks: Scattered Polka Dots clear stamp, I decided to do a larger version as a 6×6″ stencil.

NBUS#12b

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

And, just look at those inks on kraft card stock? They are so vibrant and I don’t know if it is just me, but they blend SO much easier than the regular distress inks?!

The layout of my card is from the current AAA Cards challenge HERE, which this fortnight is a sketch, seen below. My stencilled panel was perfect to split into 2 and I simply added a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.

#100

Ok, that’s all from me today. I have a list as long as my arm of housework and jobs to be done before I head across to Happy Stampers Festival this Saturday! I am sure there is still time to grab a ticket HERE as they’re not available to purchase on the door and must be bought prior to the show.

I am looking forward to the show & if you’re attending please drop by the stand and say ‘Hello’!

Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

Apologies for my lack of posting recently, my creative mojo seemed to disappear as soon as the sunshine arrived. Anyway, I am back (for now) with a little creative mojo and a new Stamp Of The Week.

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II

NaturesTreasuresIIPP copy

This set was and still is one of my favourite and definitely a ‘go to’ set when I need some leaves. It pairs wonderfully with loads of Uniko clear stamp sets, but can also be used on its own like I have done for todays card, apart from the sentiment from Simply Said Birthday

2016SOTW73

I have been enjoying the technique of ink blending recently with my new Clarity Stencil Brushes and so with the current AAA Cards challenge HERE and seen below is to use a stash favourite I decided to ink them up for the challenge.

#69

Not a huge amount to say about my card, I simply blended my Tim Holtz Mini Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers on a piece of Whisper White CS.

2016SOTW73a

I then stamped all of the leaves along the edge of my card in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them in detail white embossing powder. I then fussy cut around the leaves and adhered the panel to a thick Whisper White CS base.

A really quick and CAS card, just the way I like it!

Ok, that’s all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share using this set. Don’t forget that the set is discounted HERE for this week only.

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by 🙂
