Stamp Of The Week – Background Builders: Vines

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Background Builders: Vines…

I’m enjoying revisiting this clear stamp set & with a lot of the challenges around blogland turning towards Spring is a lovely refreshing change…

Again my card is inspired by a few challenges! First up the layout is based on the new CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below. I love the quirky style of the sketch and tried to translate this onto my card using various stamps from the set.

The colours I have used are inspired by the new Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below and as the current challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges is Spring or Easter with an optional twist of masking. I didn’t do any masking on my card but can still enter for the other part. Be sure to check the challenge out HERE.

Stamp Of The Week – Background Builders: Vines

I had a good creative evening last night and made a few CAS cards, including todays…

A nice bright and cheery Spring/Easter card to brighten a dull, cold and VERY rainy day! The tiny florals in the set are great for creating bloom clusters like I have on this card. I added a sentiment from Some Bunny and I love adding a white on white decorative die cut strip to my cards at the moment, I love the subtle interest it creates. So not so see the join of the die cut I added some Bakers Twine and a bow.

The current challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges is Spring or Easter with an optional twist of masking. I didn’t do any masking on my card but can still enter for the other part. Be sure to check the challenge out HERE.

It seems as though my mojo is slowly returning, all be it super CAS…

For todays card I decided to pair a few of the flowers from the set with one of the sentiments from the Hero Arts Acts Of Kindness stamp set. The tiny flower stamps are perfect to use as confetti, hence my choice of sentiment 😉

Again I turned to a challenge for my colour choices, this time I was inspired by the challenge colours over at TGIF Challenge! seen HERE and below.

Stamp Of The Week – Background Builders: Vines

Sorry for the long absence in blogging, I have still been suffering from illnesses and consequently I have had a lack of mojo this past week 🙁

Anyway, it’s Monday and with a new week comes new motivation to kick this bugs behind and find my creative energy! So with that, this evening I ‘made’ myself sit down and create a card using this weeks SOTW. This was and still is a favourite of mine and it was nice to dust it off and give it some new inky love…

For todays card I decided to pair a few of the flowers from the set with a NBUS SU! stamp set I got last month from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. As I have used some NBUS on my card it is perfect to enter into the lovely Darnell’s current NBUS Challenge HERE.

As usual I also turned to a couple of my other favourite challenges to spark my creativity! First up the layout of my card is based on the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below.

As you can see I used a little artistic license for the sketch, I added the bakers twine bow below the panel instead of on the panel like the sketch shows as it worked better for my card with the large sentiment.

And for the colours of my card I used the current (soon to be ending) Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below.

Simply Cards & Papercrafts!

Hey!

Sorry I have been MIA over the past few days, though it seems like weeks as time is just not slowing down. I’ve been hit by the bugs again this past weekend, I think it’s been a combination of playgroups with the beans and working all the hours once they are in bed!

March already, how did that happen?! Though it’s good as it means Spring here in the UK is only a couple of weeks away – YAY!

You may have seen this photo that I shared around social media towards the end of last week…

I was asked by the lovely Aimes (Editor & Chief of Simply Cards & Papercrafts) if I would design a set of free digital stamps and create some projects. How could I refuse that offer?!

I thought I would share a closer look at the feature in the magazine for those who are unable to purchase the magazine. Also because I have yet to find my creative energy this week 🙁 I’m sure I will at some point as I have some DT stuff to catch up on 😉

Anyway, here is the feature…

You might recognise the bunny from the recently released Some Bunny clear stamp set. I had some more fun posing him in a birthday box and with some birthday balloons 😉

Stamp Of The Week & Uniko Challenge #29 Reminder

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Beautiful Blooms II

Today I am combining SOTW with my Uniko Challenge #29 reminder card 😉 I had a bit of creative block yesterday, I have SO much I want to do on my bean free days, it’s hard to know where to start! It is also eerily quiet without them, I don’t think I have quite got used to them not being here for an afternoon!

Anyway, I decided to use the Uniko Challenge colours seen HERE and below as my inspiration!

I also needed some help with my card layout, so I turned to the new CAS Colours & Sketches challenge seen HERE and below for the layout of my card.

I was stumped for a while as to what to use for the strips on the sketch and then it occurred to me that I have used ribbon for AGES. Do you find yourself reaching for the same accessories over and over, not using different things? I do and I have to say I have missed not adding ribbon!

I added a few SU! It’s My Party Enamel Dots and a sentiment from Simply Said stamped in Hero Arts Soft Granite ink to finish the design off.

Stamp Of The Week – Beautiful Blooms II

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Beautiful Blooms II

This is my card today…

I was inspired by the new Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card.

I decided to look through my NBUS stash pile and was looking for something a little different to use. I came across a gold die cut which looked fun to create the panel. Instead of using the panel I decided to use the negative stripes and I am rather pleased how it turned out 🙂

I still had some pink CS left on my desk from another card I am sharing tomorrow and so that helped me with my colour scheme. I added some Wink Of Stella to the white areas on the stamped bloom and leaves and adhered the bloom to the card using foam adhesive.

Introducing… I LOVE Tea

Hey!

Over HERE today the Uniko Design Team, Taheerah Atchia Uniko DT Alumni and I are introducing the soon to be released I LOVE Tea, be sure to hop on over and join in on the mini blog hop to see the awesome inspiration the team have created using this new set.

Anyway, I thought I would share a card here too…

Like with yesterdays introduction of Beautiful Blooms III, I thought I would share some more inspiration here. This time I am sharing the first card I made using this soon to be released set, I LOVE Tea. As you can see this is a follow on set from the previously released I LOVE Coffee set.

Both the sentiment fonts and the drawing style is the same, so that the sets can be mixed and matched for even more possibilities.

If you have been HERE to join in on the blog hop today you will see that stacking the teacups is a popular trend with the DT, hence my choice to share this card here today! To create the stacked teacups I used the masking technique, I then flat coloured each of the cups with a trio of Copic markers, super simple.

After colouring the teacups I fussy cut them out and adhered them to the card using foam adhesive. The sentiment is from the new set and comes as two stamps for more stamping possibilities.

Stamp Of The Week – English Country Garden Butterflies

Anyway, onto my last card this week using this set…

It was inspired by a new to me colour challenge, one that I came across this morning whilst hopping to each of the Uniko Design Teams blogs HERE as we start the February Release product introductions 🙂

The challenge is called TGIF Challenge! and they do a mixture of challenges. This week HERE is a colour challenge…

For my card I simply used all of the colours and randomly stamping the smaller outline butterfly across the bottom of my card and up towards the righthand top corner. The sentiment is stamped onto a strip of CS and mounted with foam adhesive. I had a little ink boo boo on the card just above the sentiment strip so added a fussy cut butterfly to cover it 😉

Stamp Of The Week – English Country Garden Butterflies

I’m a bit late today due to an unforeseen lack of beans napping this afternoon, anyway, back to my SOTW card,

First of all I was inspired by the new challenge and join in with the celebrations over at “Less is More” this week as they celebrate their 5th Birthday! Congrats LIM 🙂

This week is a colour week, White on White with a splash of black or metallics and it is a FUN sponsored challenge, including Uniko as a sponsor!! Be sure to check out the fun & join in HERE, there are a few more Uniko February peeks over there too 😉

I also used the new Fusion Card Challenge HERE and below as I enjoyed using the sketch so much for yesterdays card.

I kept things really simple, stamping the trio of butterflies in Encore Gold ink. The larger of the butterflies is fussy cut out for a little dimension and I added a strip of gold CS die cut with a Mama Elephant die from the landscape collection.
