Uniko Challenge #32 Reminder

Hi there, my name is Tanja and I live in Germany with my wonderful husband, two children and three cats. I am addicted to stamping and paper crafting for a while now and I decided to start my own blog www.littleartcottage.blogspot.com in February 2014. I love to find new ways to use my supplies and try new techniques. Coloring and the design of little scenes are my favorite things to do. I love to make people happy with my projects and I sure hope that you will be one of them. Ok, so onto my card…

Today I decided to make a birthday card as it is AAA Cards challenge 2nd Birthday and they have a fun celebration HERE with lots of prizes, including one from Uniko 🙂 So I thought I’d join in on the fun too!

The layout of my card was inspired by the new Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below, such a fun CAS sketch.

Lastly the colours of my card were inspired by the new Fusion Card Challenge seen HERE and below.

On my card I have used Balloon Bash, a popular favourite for masculine cards and I have combined it with the grunge circles from Background Builders: Circles and a sentiment from Simply Said Birthday.

Ok, that’s all from me today, but I am busy working on a couple of cards to share over the weekend 😉 Now, if you need more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes.

THE PRIZES

The DT will choose a winner who will get a £20 gift voucher.

Uniko Sponsors AAA Cards!

Hey!

I’m a little late to the party, various reasons such as designing new stamps, sorting restocks and looking after crazy beans!

Anyway… Uniko is SUPER DUPER happy to be sponsoring AAA Cards. There is a FABulous celebration and challenge happening HERE as AAA Cards is celebrating their 2nd Birthday.

There are lots and LOTS of prizes and fun to join in on, so be sure to check it out and I hope you will join in the celebration – you’d be silly not to 😉

As it is a celebration and I haven’t had much time to be creative card making wise in the studio I squeezed in a little card making this evening…

Tonight I decided to give the recently released Fun Flowers some inky love, using a lovely quartet of bright cheery colours. I recently purchased a pack of the mini Distress Inks in my favourite colour combo – perfect!

I also used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below for my card. You got to love a sketch to get the old creative mojo a flowing again 😉

The flowers are stamped onto some SU! Whisper White CS starting with the smallest flower. I then fussy cut them out and layered them onto a white card base using DST.

The sentiment is from Strike A Pose! and is adhered to the card, overlapping the flowers using foam adhesive. I added a small amount of Wink Of Stella to various parts of the flowers and a tiny rhinestone to the centre of each for that added sparkle 😉

Ok, so onto my card…

As you can see I went for a super CAS one layer card. Nautical Treasures is a perfect stamp set for quick masculine cards and I also wanted to give ink blending a little go again. I certainly need some practice at it 😉

As I have created a one layer card and with my nautical theme, it is also perfect for the current Less is More challenge HERE, which is a one layer week, with an AT SEA theme.

This is how I was inspired to use metallics…

I’ve been wanting to pair the recently release Fun Flowers with Natures Treasures II and so that’s what I did on my card today! I decided to use heat embossing and gold embossing powder as my metallic element.

I also added some SU! metallic gold washi tape, something I rarely add to my projects. I created the stamped section by masking off the bottom half of my project, stamping and shaking on embossing powder as I went. This was so I knew where my images were to stamp the next and also so I only heat set it one time.

I added a sentiment from Simply Said Birthday, which will be back in stock in the next week or so along with some metallic nail heads.

Stamp Of The Week – All Occasion Sentiments #3

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… All Occasion Sentiments #3

I’m back this week dusting off another clear stamp set that came back in stock recently and one which is a go to sentiment set for those quick CAS cards! Tonights card was one of those…

With the April Release now available HERE to buy and the Design Team Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY HERE, I couldn’t resist using the Fun Flowers paired with the ‘Fabulous’ sentiment, one of my favourites in the set 😉

My card is so simple, I literally stamped the ‘Fabulous’ sentiment in VersaMark ink and dusted it with gold embossing powder. Before I heat set any of the card design I repeated the process for each stamped flower. This way you can easily see the images you have stamped and the card won’t get over heated/warped multiple times.

Also I have found that when using the Fun Flowers set it is easier to position and stamp/stack the flowers by starting with the smallest first and working up to the biggest.

Short & sweet from me tonight, I have a couple more orders to pack ready to post tomorrow. It’s a good job the beans like their trip out in the pram everyday 😉

April 2016 Reveal, Release & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

Ok, how about some inspiration, first up I have a card using Celebrate With Cake…

This is such a fun set to do paper piecing with, so that’s what I did 😉 I was also inspired by a new to me challenge (Thanks Lindsey for the heads up about it) called the Sweet Stampin’ Challenge. Their current challenge HERE is paper piecing.

My next card uses Fun Flowers and was inspired by the new TIME OUT Challenge seen HERE and below. This fortnight it is a Home Sweet Home challenge with an inspiration photo.

Normally an inspiration photo like this would stump me, but with the floral type patterns and colours were perfect to translate onto my card.

The flowers are stamp, coloured, fussy cut out and adhered to the side of another of the MFT Peek a Boo die cut frames. The sentiment is from Paradise Hummingbird which will be back in stock in the next week or so along with some other popular clear stamp sets.

Introducing… Fun Flowers

Hey!

I’m super happy you have stopped by today, as today the Design Team and I are introducing the second of the mini April Release clear stamp sets.

Lets have a look at my card…

Yep, I’m still on that shaker card making roll! This time I couldn’t resist adding some stamped, coloured and punched out tiny daisies to my shaker mix!

The flower on the edge of the shaker frame is a layered flower. I stamped the medium daisy, coloured and fussy cut it out. The top most flower is the tiny daisy stamped and then the small scalloped flower stamped, fussy cut and coloured. I layered the flowers together using DST.

Tomorrow I will be sharing a photo of different combinations of how the stamps in this set can be stamped!

Stamp Of The Week – I LOVE Coffee

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… I LOVE Coffee

I’ve had a really productive day today, with the sun out it sure does inspire me to ‘do’ rather than procrastinate! I had a lovely morning running my class at The Paperlane and it was lovely to see some faces I haven’t seen for a while and of course those who come every month 🙂

Anyway, I had this card idea the other night and tonight I made time to make it…

I was totally inspired by the new sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! HERE and seen below. The I LOVE COFFEE banner in the set was perfect to create the trio of rectangular elements shown in the sketch.

I still wanted to use and add some of the other stamps contained in the set on my card but keep them subtle, so I randomly stamped the coffee cup and beans onto a Soft Stone CS layer using VersaMark Dazzle Champagne ink. This panel is mounted onto a Smokey Slate card base and the trio of sentiments adhered using foam adhesive.

Introducing… Celebrate With Cake

Hey!

I’m super happy you have stopped by today, as today the Design Team and I are introducing the first of the mini April Release clear stamp sets.

Hopefully you have hopped here from the Uniko Blogspot blog HERE. If not be sure to pop on over to see more from myself and the Design Team using Celebrate With Cake.

Lets have a look at my card…

My starting point for my card was when I saw the current Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below. I thought they could challenge me (which they did) and also make a cheery celebration card.

My tag card is pretty simple, I stamped the outline cupcake case in VersaMagic Red Magic ink onto the tag and then the solid cupcake top in VersaMagic Aquatic Splash onto a smaller separate piece of white CS and fussy cut it out. I also added the star sprinkles to the cupcake top using SU! Pumpkin Pie ink.

I embellished the tag with some Papertrey Ink Harvest Gold satin ribbon, SU! Aqua Mist Bakers Twine, the sentiment from the set and a trio of tiny rhinestones.

Stamp Of The Week – I LOVE Coffee

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… I LOVE Coffee

With my family leaving today to enjoy a couple of nights by the seaside and the beans going to their grandparents for the day I was hoping for a full day of crafting. I did a few cards, but my creative mojo was lacking energy today and I didn’t get as much done as planned.

I did get to make todays SOTW card…

The result something a little out of my normal CAS comfort zone, a little ‘busier’ than normal, but the bright cheery ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below were perfect for the rainy and gloomy day we have had.

I treated myself to a new Reverse Confetti die and have been itching to use it since it arrived on Tuesday, hence its use on my card 😉
