Back In Action!

Hey!

Apologies for being absent for such a long time, my mojo seemed to have a min break and Oh my, what a busy couple of weeks! We are now settling back into our ‘normal’ routine after Easter Break. Thankfully today has worn the beans out and they were flat out in five minutes of going to bed – whooohooo!

That meant I had a little ‘extra’ time to sit, create and get my mojo back into action to create a card to share with you…

Plus I have more restocks arriving early next week too AND I’ve the May Release to play with this week too ๐Ÿ˜‰ keep your eyes peeled for some sneaky sneak peeks!

Anyway, back to my card. I’ve used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below as a jumping point and used my ‘go to’ Altenew ink colours as they are so good for layering and take away the hard thinking work!

The sentiment is from Simply Said and I added a few Stampin’ Up! enamel dots to embellish. The sentiment strip is raised on foam pads and these are Stix2 Anything and they come in a hand 1mm thickness which I have used as well as the standard 2mm thickness.

Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1

Hey!

Ahhh, Thursday how I love thee! Today I get a few hours to myself this afternoon as the beans are off to Grandma & Grandads for their tea ๐Ÿ™‚ I have a mountain of things I’d like to spend my time doing but I know for a fact that the 4 hours will go crazy quick.

Anyway, last night I had a little creative time in the studio once the beans were tucked up in bed to create a little trio of cards using this weeks Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1.

The purpose of my little trio of cards was to show you just a small example of the mix & match possibilities the Flower Power series has.

For my cards I combined Flower Power #1, #5 and #6. My card design was inspired by the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below. Don’t you just love it when a challenge is perfect for what you had in mind? I do ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh and I was super excited to be a winner for last weeks challenge HERE with my card using last weeks Stamp Of The Week. ย Thanks guys ๐Ÿ™‚

The cards are 12cm tall and 10.5cm wide so they are smaller in height than my normal card as I didn’t want an uneven border around the stamped layer. The design itself is really basic and highlights how the stem and flower can stamped. For the flower I added a little more depth and detail, stamping it in two shade of the same colour.

I started out by stamping the darker colour flower and then rotating the stamp one leaf to stamp the lighter shade to create a full flower with a two tone effect. It is similar to the Ghost Stamping technique I have used previously with this set HERE.

A few more photos of the trio of cards to hopefully inspire you a little more…

Ok, that’s all from me on this blog today, but I will be sharing something over HERE later today ๐Ÿ™‚ Until then & the next time, thanks for stopping by.
