Words of Encouragement

Hello & Happy Weekend.

It’s been a pretty gloomy, rainy and windy day here. With a hint of Autumn in the air, I wanted to create something with some bright colours and use some simple words of encouragement.

I had a good look through my stash and I decided to use Background Blocks Doodle Flower. This is such a fun stamp to add pops of bright colours.

Words1

I kept my card design really simple, allowing the block of pattern to take centre stage. I stamped the block in Catherine Pooler Midnight ink and coloured with some bright Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends.

Words1a

The three small sentiments are from Simply Said Blocks and I stamped them onto some small scraps of coloured card to tie in all the colours and to make the sentiments pop a little more against the background.

Words1b

A pretty quick card to make, I didn’t time myself, but it must have taken me less than 20 minutes. So I thought I would join in on the fun over at AAA Cards with their current challenge HERE, Made in Minutes.

Before I go today, I thought I would share another quick card using *some* of the crafty stash I have purchased this year! Even though I design my own products, I like to support other small business and I simply can’t resist adding other awesome companies products to my stash and they often include stamps!

Like these fabulous Chubby Unicorns from Funky Fossil Designs!

I don’t normally go for cute stuff, but these were just the right amount 😉 I have paired the stamped unicorn with the Rainbow & Clouds Dies from ‘Lil Inker. The sentiment is a Uniko one, from Simply Said Blocks II.

That’s all from me today, I hope I have added a little cheer to your day.

Thank you for stopping by 🙂

Birthday Doodle Flowers

Happy Weekend!

This week I’ve been playing with more of the Uniko Background Blocks clear stamps and this time I was inspired to use Background Blocks Doodle Flower. If you missed my earlier Background Blocks inspiration post, you can see it HERE.

Anyway, back to todays card…

BirthdayDoodleFlowers

As you can see I didn’t use the complete background! This is such a fun and versatile stamp, in that you can use it as a background, but you can also use the doodle flower elements by themselves.

BirthdayDoodleFlowers1

There are a couple of ways you could achieve this. Firstly, you could do what I did for my card and stamp the background block in Catherine Pooler Midnight ink, colour the flowers you want to use with Copic Markers & fussy cut them out.

Or, if you aren’t a fan of fussy cutting small flowers, you could mask off all but the flower you want, stamp & repeat the process to achieve the desired look.

I’ve paired the flowers with a sentiment from Birthday Sentiments clear stamp set & I added my favourite Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Drops to the flower centres and accents.

The layout of my card is from this weeks CAS Colours & Sketches HERE and seen below. It was so much fun to sit & play with my supplies and to join in on a challenge, it’s been a while 😉

As I’ve created a birthday card & AAA Cards is celebrating their 5th Birthday over HERE, I’m going to join in on their challenge too!

5th birthday banner

Don’t forget Uniko is one of the AAA Cards Birthday Sponsors & there is LOTS of ways to win!

Okay, that’s all I have to share with you today. I am off to the Spa with a couple of friends for the day / night 🙂 Another 40th Birthday treat! I hope you all have a wonderful day & have something nice planned too.

Until next time, thanks for stopping by!

Introducing… Kindness Blooms & Uniko Stencil Fun Flowers

Hey!

Welcome back to the final day of the product introductions! This is the exciting bit, where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

What a FUN 4 days it has been! If you’ve missed any of the introductions you can catch up HEREHEREHERE and HERE.

Today the Design Team and I are here to introduce the last floral products, Kindness Blooms clear stamp set and Fun Flowers Stencil.

I think I have yet again saved a new favourite until last 😉 I just can’t seem to stop using the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set! This set contains a fun doodle style flower in 2 sizes, some fun flower accents and kindness mix and match sentiments.
IntroKindnessBlooms1
For my first card today I have only used the Kindness Blooms clear stamp set, but due to the technique I used and showed HERE, a few at the Uniko Stamping Retreat on Saturday thought that I had used the same technique on the Large Scattered Polka Dot BG. However, I have used the single polka dot that comes in the Kindness Blooms set and simply randomly stamped it in a rainbow of Altenew ink colours.
IntroKindnessBlooms1a

The kraft card stock layer is adhered to the rainbow background using foam adhesive and the sentiment is just one of the options available.

Next I was inspired by a Mid Century Modern pattern design that I had come across on Pinterest HERE

IntroKindnessBlooms2

This was a sheer accident! I had not consciously thought about this when designing the set, but the happy coincidence and results are super fun 🙂

That’s all I have to share using Kindness Blooms today and I will be sharing a card using the Fun Flowers stencil over HERE at 1pm GMT for my CAS Colours & Sketches DT post 😉

Again it’s a hop full of wonderful inspiration and techniques, I can’t wait to read how they’ve created all their samples! So get comfy, grab a drink and be sure to hop around all the Design Team blogs for a TON of inspiration and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

Doodle Flower Mix!

Whooohoo for Friday!

The first working week of the New Year is nearly over and The Beans return to nursery on Monday. Not that I haven’t enjoyed having them home and taking them out places, but it has cost a small fortune to keep them entertained and they like routine 😉

I seem to be able to make a card and blog every other day so far this year, wondering if I can keep it up! Todays card is one that I have wanted to make since the December Release, when I introduced the new Stencil Doodle Flower. I wanted to show an example of how it could be combined with the previously released Background Blocks: Doodle Flower.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1

The new sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! HERE and seen below seemed to be the perfect fit for using the stencil and 3 of the doodle flowers from the Background Blocks: Doodle Flower.

CTS_253

I started by using the lower section of the 6″ x 6″ Doodle Flower Stencil and applying Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers. I then stamped the Background Blocks: Doodle Flower and fussy cut 3 of the flowers before colouring them with Prismacolor pencils.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1b

The sentiment is from the December Release Freebie, So Much. There are still a few of these freebies left, which are added to qualifying orders of £20 or more before postage costs and after any discounts have been applied!

DoodleFlowerThankyou1a

The fussy cut flowers are adhered to the one layer card using double sided tape and I added a Stampin’ Up! enamel heart and dots to the centres for a little added interest.

DoodleFlowerThankyou1c

That’s all I have to share for today, but I hope I have inspired you a little?! If you want some more inspiration using the Doodle Flower Stencil, be sure to head on over to DT Member Rahmat’s blog HERE and HERE. Rahmat has been having fun with the December Release goodies now she has her hands on them!!

Thanks for stopping by today 🙂

Today myself and my awesome Design Team  are introducing 3 NEW Uniko Stencil Designs, Broken Lines, Doodle Flower & Lattice. How about a little more inspiration?!
DoodleFlower2
First up is a card using the Doodle Flower stencil and my first attempt at using Glitter Paste! I’ve used Imagination Crafts Old Rose Sparkle Medium. It was fairly easy to use, but still think I need a little more practice!
DoodleFlower2a
Next is another card using the Lattice stencil…
Lattice2
On this card I created a rectangle negative mask and stencilled the lattice design inside. I used Broken China Distress Oxide ink. The card is then embellished with a floral bouquet and sentiment from the December Release FREEBIE, more about this on Friday!

The Saturday Show Returns!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

Do you remember the feature I used to do called The Saturday Show? I used to have a lot more time on my hands to peruse the internet and blogland to find and comment on all the wonderful Uniko customer projects. I also liked to choose a few and share them here on the Uniko blog.

Now that I am ‘slowly’ getting some time back and the beauty of places like Facebook and Instagram especially, I am able to find and see Uniko customer projects more easily 🙂 So I thought it would be nice to kick start this feature again once a month.

So without further ado it’s over to YOU…

First up is this beautiful Happy Succulents card by Julia, which I spotted over on Instagram. Those beautiful purple hues are so striking. Thank you so much for tagging #uniko over on IG Julia.

Next are two cards also spotted on Instagram by Julie, a wonderful customer at Uniko for many years  (thank you)…

First this pretty Originally Organic card. The designer paper Julie has paired with the swirly foliage image from the clear stamp set is just perfect. The colours are just so happy and summery too.

This next card by Julie really packs a punch with the bold colours and awesome CAS design…

Here Julie has combined the SUPER popular Background Blocks Halftone with the Explosion! clear stamp set. What a super masculine card, don’t you think?

Thank you so much Julie for sharing and tagging #uniko on Instagram.

Next I have some more floral designs to share from Elaine who has also been a loyal customer at Uniko for many years. Elaine never ceases to amaze me with how she uses Uniko’s floral stamps…

On this first card Elaine has used Background Blocks Doodle Flower and the emboss resist technique, which is the current game over at AAA Cards. Just look at those happy summery sunshine colours 🙂

On this next card Elaine has used Pure Florals: Lily paired with a sentiment from Originally Organic…

A beautiful CAS design. The layout, gold embossing and beautiful watercoloring really made this card stand out. Which lastly leads me onto to this stunner…

Just a quirky die cut technique really adds interest and pizzaz to this already beautiful coloured Lily. Be sure to pop by Elaine’s blog Craft-E-Place and checkout all the beautiful and inspiring projects.

Continuing the floral beauties is Sharon…

Sharon created this Neapolitan coloured shaker card using Background Blocks Doodle Flower, aren’t those colours just scrumptious? A huge congratulations to Sharon for her Top 5 placing for this card over at Passion for Promarkers too 🙂

Continuing the theme of flowers, Sharon also used the Pure Florals: Lily to make this shimmery beauty…

Just look at the beautiful pink Lily and overall stunning design. Lastly, I have one more card by Sharon I wanted to share…

The die cut curves of this card design really draws focus to the floral heart wreath from Originally Organic Additions. Such a beautiful CAS showcase of this clear stamp set. Thank you for sharing your Uniko creations Sharon and be sure to head on over to From My Craft Desk to be inspired even more.

There seems to be a floral theme occurring, as I share this next card…

This card is by Nonni from Nonni’s Handmade Cards and features the popular Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum. This design is beautifully stamped, masked and coloured. The added die cut technique really keeps the focus on the flower but gets the sentiment across. Thank you for sharing this beautiful showcase Nonni.

Lastly and by no means least I have a two cards to share by Izzy from Izzy scrap. Again, I couldn’t help but continue this floral theme…

So many of you are enjoying the recently release Pure Florals: Lily and the array of designs show how versatile this set is. Keeping the leaves and buds as black and white outlines really makes the embossed watercolored Lilly POP from the card. The added sentiment helps highlight the warmth from the design too. LOVE this split layout too.

Next up is this Beautiful Blooms III beauty…

Yellow and Grey is a wonderful combintion and I love how Izzy used the colours. The subtle splattering and mirrored stamping of the floral frames the ‘happy’ sentiment. Thank you for these beautiful showcase’s Izzy.

I hope you have enjoyed this months The Saturday Show and I really could have shared so many more wonderful customer designs. It was so hard choosing what to share here on the blog today. I will continue to keep a look out for your wonderful designs using Uniko products and don’t forget to #hashtag me using the following, so I can find you!

#uniko

#unikoltd

#unikostamps

Don’t do social media or blog? Why not drop me an email (bev@uniko.co.uk) with a photo of what you create using your Uniko goodies. I’d LOVE to see them and be able to share them here on the blog 🙂

THANK YOU to everyone that has purchased Uniko clear stamps and designer dies, you make me so happy and you keep this little business and dream of mine alive. I appreciate YOU more than you will ever know.

Introducing… Background Blocks Doodle Flower & Horizontal Stripe

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the May product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 4 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

Starting over HERE, myself and my AWESOME Design Team are introducing TWO clear stamp sets, Background Blocks Doodle Flower & Horizontal Stripe. These two sets have so many fun possibilities and can be used and paired with all sorts of stamps and paper crafting goodies.
With doing an individual card for each stamp over at the start of the hop, I decided to show how these two background stamps can be combined…

IntroBBdfandhs2

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
First up a rainbow card, who doesn’t love a colourful rainbow?!  Now, I have to say that the MISTI tool comes in very VERY handy for multi coloured stamping AND for perfect placement of the doodle flower stamp over the top!
IntroBBdfandhs2a
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
The rainbow of stripes is stamped using Lawn Fawn inks and the doodle flower is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I added a sentiment from Simply Said and some Stampin’ Up! heart shape enamel embellishments to 3 of the larger flowers.
I’ve one more card to share using both the stamps, both in a selective stamping way…
IntroBBdfandhs1
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
Again I used my MISTI tool to stamp the horizontal stripes and this time I selectively inked just 3 of the stripes in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with Gold EP.
IntroBBdfandhs1a
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
The stripes are then embellished with Lawn Fawn Merman doodle flowers, Stampin’ Up! Enamel dots and a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #6.
Ok, that’s all I have to share today using these two new stamps and hopefully I have inspired you a little as to how they can be used! Now I am handing you over to the Design Team and you WILL be inspired with how they have all used the stamps. Be sure to comment along the hop, as you might just be chosen for a random release day prize!
