Hello & Happy Weekend!

I am here bright and early this morning to tell you that Uniko is super happy and proud to be sponsoring “Less is More” again.

As you can see, this week the theme is ‘friendship’ and for my Guest Designer card I thought I would dust off Reach For The Stars and Background Builders: Seeing Stars

I recently had a little Stampin’ Up! splurge as I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of the new and returning colours! One of the colours I couldn’t wait to use was Grey Granite, those who know me, know that I LOVE grey. I think love might be an understatement, lets say obsessed!

Just yesterday I was talking to my husband about painting some rooms in the house and I said I had picked up some paint chips on the way past the DIY store. He knew before he even looked that the majority would be shades of grey – LOL! I love it as a base colour to accessorise with other colours, like I have with my card today…

I was super happy to see that Altenew Silver Stone ink is a really good match to the Grey Granite card, which I used to stamp my sentiment. The star in the middle from Background Builders: Seeing Stars is stamped in a slightly darker shade, Altenew Industrial Diamond ink. I then used my Prismacolor Pencils in Light & Dark Aquamarine to colour it. The 2 smaller stars are stamped in Altenew Aqualicious and Teal Cave. I finished the stars off with some clear Wink Of Stella too for that subtle sparkle.

The layout of my card is from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.

I’ve so many friends I could send this card to, so I think I will be replicating this design with other colours & the Grey Granite!

OK, that’s all from me today, I’ll be spending time with The Beans and hubby today, before a little night out with some of my old nursing friends, celebrating ones retirement. It’ll be nice to catch up with them πŸ™‚

Anyway, be sure to head on over to the “Less is More” blog here and join in on the fun.

One Layer Stencil Fun!

Hey & Happy Monday!

I do hope your week has begun well? Mine started well, but then took an unplanned turn when Bean no.2 came out in the chicken pox spots. Second time round and it still surprised me as to how suddenly and quickly they begin to appear from nowhere! Luckily my in laws are back from their holiday this week and were able to help look after him while I took Bean no.1 to nursery. It still meant little time for work and what not, but it meant that we were not all stuck inside again.

I am happy that yesterday I managed to make a couple of cards, the first of which I am sharing today…

I still had my Fun Flowers Stencil out on my desk from when I made my cards for the Uniko March 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway HERE. And I had been wanting to join in on the current “Less is More” one layer challenge HERE, which is to use stencils, perfect combo!

I needed a little more of a mojo boost and mooched around my ‘go to’ challenges for a colour combo and thought the Color Throwdown challenge HERE looked fun, so gave it a whirl too!

Plus to mix it up a little and as 3 is my favourite number I decided to join in on the AAA cards challenge fun HERE too, which is to use 1/3 of your card.

With all that I managed to keep it all clean & simple! I used Altenew Rouge ink as my closest match to a peach colour, applied it through my Fun Flowers Stencil which I kept to the lower third of my one layer card. Then added the Simply Said Blocks happy birthday sentiment.

Ok, that’s all from me today. I think it’ll be another early night for this mummy after the Spring forward with the clocks and a poorly bean, it could be a night of little sleep, fingers crossed it isn’t! Until later in the week, thanks for stopping by today πŸ™‚

Uniko Sponsors CASology!

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

I do hope you are having a good week so far? It is a busy one here at Uniko HQ as we are in full swing with the October 2017 Release. We have had all the clear stamp set sneak peeks and I have been sharing some other product peeks over on Instagram and Facebook! There is also a peek at a new die collection in this post πŸ˜‰

Anyway, along with all the festivities, Uniko is super duper happy to be sponsoring one of my favourite challenges this week, CASology.

This week the cue word over at CASology HERE is ‘ODD’…

Week 270 - Odd

I found this a little hard a first, but I then got to thinking of odd numbers and this card came about…

I chose an ‘odd’ number of flowers and my favourite number! I dusted of Flower Power #1 clear stamps and paired them with the NEW matching Flower Power Designer Dies. Yep, another NEW set of coordinating dies πŸ™‚

The layout of my card is loosely based on this weeks CAS Colours & Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. I’ve my Design Team card over HERE too, if you want some more inspiration today!

To make my card a little more ‘odd’ I decided to use both positive and negative die cutting for the flower trio…

I hope you’re inspired to join in on the challenges & I look forward to seeing you in the galleries too! I will be back a little later on with another Uniko Sponsorship card!
