Hey!
Welcome back to another ‘Look Back At 2016! This year has been an amazing year for myself personally, but it has been a fantastic year for Uniko. We have had 5 fabulous releases, with 16 new clear stamps sets lining the Uniko HQ shelves.
Today, I am taking a look back at the April 2016 Release and giving some fresh inky love to Celebrate With Cake and Fun Flowers clear stamp sets.
First up I have a shaker card using Celebrate With Cake…
I seem to have a ‘thing’ for shaker cards when I use this set 😉 I had some Stampin’ Up! Designer Paper on my desk, left over from my CAS Christmas cards HERE. I decided to put some more of it to good use, instead of sitting and admiring it!
I used my MISTI tool again to line up and stamp the top and bottom of the cupcake and used Copic Markers to colour it in. The sequins are a mix of Stampin’ Up! collections and the the ‘happy’ die cut is from the Hello You Thinlits Collection also from Stampin’ Up! which has a good smothering of Clear Wink Of Stella. I then used the Papertrey Ink Banner Die to stamp the birthday sentiment onto, which is from Simply Said.
It’s the weekend, time for CAKE!
This week I am dusting off… Celebrate With Cake for SOTW…
Not much small talk tonight, as it is getting late! Here is my card for you today using this set…
I kept things fair simple, though it appears quite busy 😉 I wanted to participate in Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Colour Challenge HERE. I have been practising with various media the past few days, (which I will share over the coming days) but one of my favourites to use is Prisma Colour Pencils.
This is what I have used to colour the frosting of the cupcake. I started by stamping the frosting in VersaMagic Turquoise Gem ink and then used 2 shades of aqua to colour. I used some Gamsol to blend the colouring and added some Wink Of Stella over the top.
Some stamped gold stars, star enamels and a SU! piece of hardware finished the card off. All the supplies are listed below.
Ok, that’s all from me tonight, I will be back tomorrow with more inspiration featuring this set and don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Celebrate With Cake
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMagic Turquoise Gem. Encore Gold
Cardstock: SU! Whisper White, Costal Cabana and Smokey Slate
Accessories: Wink Of Stella, Foam Adhesive, SU! Hardware, Star Enamel Adhesives.
Anyone for third helpings of cake?!
Time for a NEW Stamp Of The Week (SOTW) and this week I am dusting off… Celebrate With Cake
As a CAS girl at heart and that relates to most of my life (apart from the beans – LOL!) in card making and paper crafts I rarely reach for the patterned papers. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE pattern, colour and pretty papers. I just find them daunting to use without over cluttering my card and keep my card CAS.
Anyway, I am ‘trying’ to overcome my fear of using patterned papers and so decided to give it ago on tonights card…
I have opted for a simple pattern, however it still spoke summer to me with the fresh yellow and white. It reminded me of a Redcar Lemon Top ice cream hence my lemon frosting on my cupcake!
The cupcake case is stamped in Hero Arts Mint to Green Ombré ink and the yellow frosting is VersaMagic Mango Madness, with a light dusting of Wink Of Stella. Even though the card seems to have a lot going on, I have tried to keep the focal point simple with limited embellishments.
I’m pretty pleased with how my card turned out, but I still need a little more practice and confidence using patterned papers I think!
Ok, that’s all from me tonight, I still have a TON of work to do and a class on Saturday to prepare for. I think I am probably one of the only people in the UK not watching some kind of sport on the TV tonight!
Anyway, I will be back tomorrow with more inspiration featuring this set and don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Time for a NEW Stamp Of The Week (SOTW) and this week I am dusting off… Celebrate With Cake
Todays card came together pretty quickly this afternoon whilst the beans were eventually napping. I had a cake top already prepared from last night so all there was to do was decide on a layout and elements to mix with the cupcake.
When I saw the new challenge over at CASology HERE, which this week is to use chevrons I thought, why not, chevrons could be pretty cool with a cupcake!
And this is what I came up with…
I started by stamping the cupcake case in Hero Arts Pink to Red Ombré ink and then masked it to stamp the chevrons from Background Builders: Chevrons (Retired) in SU! Going Grey ink.
The chevrons are then lightly watercolored, as I didn’t use watercolour CS. I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers to do this and added a light coating of Wink Of Stella over the top too. I then adhered the glittered cupcake frosting from yesterday, stamped the sentiment and embellished with a few SU! It’s My Party Enamel Dots.
Because I wasn’t totally sure where this card was going, I am pretty pleased with how it turned out and I think the chevrons work well with the design.
As you can’t have a party without CAKE, I am entering my card into the challenge over at Gobal Design Project. Their challenge HERE is a theme…
Ok, that’s all from me tonight, I have a TON of work to do and a class on Saturday to prepare for along with a workout in the gym!
I will be back tomorrow with more inspiration featuring this set and don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.

Ok, how about some inspiration, first up I have a card using Celebrate With Cake…
This is such a fun set to do paper piecing with, so that’s what I did 😉 I was also inspired by a new to me challenge (Thanks Lindsey for the heads up about it) called the Sweet Stampin’ Challenge. Their current challenge HERE is paper piecing.
My next card uses Fun Flowers and was inspired by the new TIME OUT Challenge seen HERE and below. This fortnight it is a Home Sweet Home challenge with an inspiration photo.
Normally an inspiration photo like this would stump me, but with the floral type patterns and colours were perfect to translate onto my card.
The flowers are stamp, coloured, fussy cut out and adhered to the side of another of the MFT Peek a Boo die cut frames. The sentiment is from Paradise Hummingbird which will be back in stock in the next week or so along with some other popular clear stamp sets.
Ok, that’s all I have to share just now, but I will be back later today with a new Stamp Of The Week and card to share with you all.
Be sure to hop on over HERE to the beginning of the hop or HERE to Deborah’s blog to see some more inspiration. Don’t forget to comment along the hop to be in the chance of winning the 2 release stamp sets AND a £10 eGift Certificate.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hey!
I’m super happy you have stopped by today, as today the Design Team and I are introducing the first of the mini April Release clear stamp sets.
Hopefully you have hopped here from the Uniko Blogspot blog HERE. If not be sure to pop on over to see more from myself and the Design Team using Celebrate With Cake.
Lets have a look at my card…
My starting point for my card was when I saw the current Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below. I thought they could challenge me (which they did) and also make a cheery celebration card.
My tag card is pretty simple, I stamped the outline cupcake case in VersaMagic Red Magic ink onto the tag and then the solid cupcake top in VersaMagic Aquatic Splash onto a smaller separate piece of white CS and fussy cut it out. I also added the star sprinkles to the cupcake top using SU! Pumpkin Pie ink.
I embellished the tag with some Papertrey Ink Harvest Gold satin ribbon, SU! Aqua Mist Bakers Twine, the sentiment from the set and a trio of tiny rhinestones.
That’s all from me just now showcasing this set, I will be back later today with my Stamp Of The Week card using I LOVE Coffee. Until then, be sure to stop by HERE for more inspiration using this set.
Thanks for stopping by.
