Stamp Of The Week – English Country Garden Butterflies

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… English Country Garden – Butterflies

With February comes the start of my excitement and countdown to the Uniko February Release AND Uniko’s 4th Birthday! On Monday I kicked things off over HERE with a post that tells you how Uniko came to be, there is also a fun GIVEAWAY too 😉

Anyway, back to my SOTW card…

A new challenge started over at CAS Colours & Sketches HERE today and our hostess this month Stef has kicked things off with a FAB cheerful colour combo…

Whilst I was creating my card that I have shared HERE, this idea popped into my head! What do you think? I started by stamping the butterfly in Melon Mambo then colouring with a light pink Copic marker in various places, which I then added a slight touch of Wink Of Stella to.

To stamp the 2 tone background using Pumpkin Pie I stamped the flower trio confetti from Balloon Bash twice before re-inking. I then repeated the process around the butterfly leaving a slight border. The sentiment is ANOTHER peek at one coming in the February Release 😉 Any guesses as to what the set might be about?!

Ok, that’s all from me today, I am not feeling so chirpy today, think I missed my not so little beans this afternoon. Strange how you look forward to some ‘me’ time and then when you get it I feel lost! Anyway, still lots to do for the February Release and Birthday celebrations. Anyway, back to my SOTW card…

For my card today I was inspired by a previous card I made using Beautiful Blooms II and Natures Treasures II, seen HERE and below. Having used the swirly leaves on yesterdays card it sparked the idea to CASE myself!

I kept the colours and the layout basically the same but switched the bloom for the butterfly and rearranged some of the swirls. The sentiment is an early sneak peek from the upcoming February Release 😉

With stamping the butterfly and not colouring it in I decided to add a sprinkling of glitter, perfect for the new challenge this week over at CASology HERE, who’s cue word is glitter.

Stamp Of The Week – English Country Garden Butterflies

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… English Country Garden – Butterflies

Apologies for being MIA last week, with all the February Release prep and some ‘home’ emergencies I didn’t get a lot of creative time. However, I have made up for it over the weekend and had a good crafty session creating all sorts of inspiration that I will be sharing here and HERE.

With the 1st February comes the start of my excitement and countdown to the Uniko February Release AND Uniko’s 4th Birthday! I’ve kicked things off over HERE with a post that tells you how Uniko came to be, there is also a fun GIVEAWAY too 😉

Anyway, back to SOTW! With another storm (Henry) headed our way here in the NE of the UK and the high winds already battering outside, my thoughts are still focused on Spring! This time I thought of butterflies 🙂 and as I was perusing Pinterest I came across THIS beauty.

Even though it this card has a collage of details it still has an air of CAS. I was particularly drawn to the trio of tags which make up the card front and the hint of colour from the base card. So, I had a go and this is what I came up with…

The only tag die I have in this shape is a small Papertrey Ink one which is 3.5 x 6.5 cm in size, so three combined it still creates a cute little card. I die cut the three tags and adhered them to an offset of SU! Costal Cabana CS . I then trimmed the shape of the tags at the top and punched holes all the way through.

Along with stamping the large butterfly in SU! Going Gray ink I stamped a couple of swirly leaves from Natures Treasures II. The smaller solid butterfly is stamped on white CS and fussy cut out with the smaller outline butterfly stamped onto vellum and fussy cut out. I added a few SU! heart sequins, bakers twine and Wink Of Stella for a scattering of embellishment.

Onto my card…

As you can see I have gone super CAS for this one & one layer too, perfect for mailing out! I used a few other challenges to spark my creativity. First up is the current 2 week challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below. I’ve had so many ideas whirling around for this sketch but with being ill I hadn’t found time to join in.

I was also inspired by the new Fusion Card Challenge HERE and seen below, I used the colours from the inspiration photo. Such lovely turquoise/blue tones with sparkly silver & white.

As you can see from this close up below, I have used 2 snowflakes from Stunning Snowflakes & heat embossed one the sentiments from the set with Stardust EP for the sparkle! I was going to say I used one of my favourite sentiments from the set, but I actually LOVE them all! Haha!

I actually chose this particular sentiment due to the new challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges HERE. This fortnight it is an inspired by words challenge & the words are…

Uniko Challenge #22

Hey!

Today over HERE on the Uniko Blogger Blog we have a new challenge starting 🙂 This fortnight it is a REALLY easy one for you, but with an optional twist to challenge yourself that little further if you wish.

Anything Goes with an optional twist of a Masculine Card

You can use any stamps you own to create your card/project, but I do love to see you use your Uniko goodies and there are prizes of course, listed at the end of my post along with other details.

Normally I would have challenged myself to make a masculine card, but it just wasn’t happening. The idea I had in my head just wouldn’t translate onto my card! So I ended up making this instead…

I was firstly inspired by the new challenge over a Fusion Card Challenge HERE and opted to use both the inspiration photo and the sketch seen below.

When I see butterflies I can resist joining in and using the large butterfly from English Country Garden – Butterflies. I paired the butterfly with the solid bloom from Beautiful Blooms II which I masked and stamped in Angel Pink, Rose Bud and Mango Madness.

This fortnight we also have some lovely talented Guest Designers joining us 🙂 Anita from My Papercraft World and Melissa from HoneyBeeLane.
