Stamp Of The Week – Background Builders: Vines

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Background Builders: Vines

BBVinesPP

It seems as though my mojo is slowly returning, all be it super CAS…

2016SOTW38

For todays card I decided to pair a few of the flowers from the set with one of the sentiments from the Hero Arts Acts Of Kindness stamp set. The tiny flower stamps are perfect to use as confetti, hence my choice of sentiment 😉

2016SOTW38a

Again I turned to a challenge for my colour choices, this time I was inspired by the challenge colours over at TGIF Challenge! seen HERE and below.

TGIF MARCH Challenges-001

That’s all from me today using this set, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Don’t forget that this set is discounted in store HERE this week too.

Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today.

Stamp Of The Week – Background Builders: Vines

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Background Builders: Vines

BBVinesPP

Sorry for the long absence in blogging, I have still been suffering from illnesses and consequently I have had a lack of mojo this past week 🙁

Anyway, it’s Monday and with a new week comes new motivation to kick this bugs behind and find my creative energy! So with that, this evening I ‘made’ myself sit down and create a card using this weeks SOTW. This was and still is a favourite of mine and it was nice to dust it off and give it some new inky love…

2016SOTW36

For todays card I decided to pair a few of the flowers from the set with a NBUS SU! stamp set I got last month from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. As I have used some NBUS on my card it is perfect to enter into the lovely Darnell’s current NBUS Challenge HERE.

button aqua use this the

As usual I also turned to a couple of my other favourite challenges to spark my creativity! First up the layout of my card is based on the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below.

CTS_162

As you can see I used a little artistic license for the sketch, I added the bakers twine bow below the panel instead of on the panel like the sketch shows as it worked better for my card with the large sentiment.

2016SOTW36aAnd for the colours of my card I used the current (soon to be ending) Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below.

That’s all from me today using this set, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Don’t forget that this set is discounted in store HERE this week too.

Stamp Of The Week – English Country Garden Butterflies

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… English Country Garden – Butterflies

ECGbutterfliesPP

With February comes the start of my excitement and countdown to the Uniko February Release AND Uniko’s 4th Birthday! On Monday I kicked things off over HERE with a post that tells you how Uniko came to be, there is also a fun GIVEAWAY too 😉

If you missed it yesterday I have another fabulous & exciting opportunity for one of you. How would YOU like to be a Uniko Guest Stamp Designer? For all the details and to enter check out the post HERE.

Anyway, back to my SOTW card…

2016SOTW21

Today I decided to take 30+ minutes out to sit and colour the butterfly using a select few of my Copic Marker collection. I used to have nearly all of the Copic colours but as I don’t use them as much as I should I narrowed my colours down to just a select few. I thought it would be nice to join in on Kathy Racoon’s 30 Day Color Challenge, #thedailymarker30day over at Kathy’s blog The Daily Marker.

Along with the colouring challenge I decided to add in a couple more! First up the layout of my card is based on the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below and the new Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 222-001

The leaf and floral detail behind the butterfly is from Background Builders: Vines and the sentiment is another peek of one from a set being released next week! I’m still in love with my Wink Of Stella pen and though I was happy with my colouring, I decided to add a good dose of sparkle too 😉

2016SOTW21a

Ok, that’s all from me today, I am still super busy in the Uniko Studio surrounded by a sea of photopolymer! Lots still to do for the February Release and Birthday celebrations. Be sure to keep an eye out on the blogs and social media for all the fun and GIVEAWAYS!

Don’t forget that this set is 20% off this week HERE in store, for this week only. That’s all from me today, I will be back  tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today 🙂

Stamp Of The Week – All Occasion Sentiments #2

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… All Occasion Sentiments #2

AllOccasionSentiments2PP

Todays card was made recently when I received a nice surprise on Christmas Day! I’d been such a good girl in 2015, that Santa brought me a Heidi Swapp Mini Minc Machine – YAY! Unfortunately the Mini Minc played up and stopped working completely so I had to send it back (via Santa), after waiting a few days I got an upgrade to a full size Minc Machine *GRIN*.

Anyway, I had to give it a test run and played with the usual freebies you get with it and then I remembered I have some foils I used a Uni, way back probably 5+ years ago. So up into the loft I went and I eventually dug them out and found a BEAUTIFUL multi coloured foil which resulted in this card…

2016SOTW3

As the ‘AWESOME’ is fairly small only 2 colours from the rainbow picked up. However I have a super CAS card HERE today which shows the full rainbow effect.

2016SOTW3a

Not to take too much shine away from the foiled sentiment & in keeping with the star for the ‘O’, I stamped the star background strips from Background Builders: Christmas in VersaMark ink onto a black panel of CS and then dusted Perfect Pearls over the stamping to make them shimmer & shine. This is a little more subtle than using heat embossing. The result a quick & simple card to congratulate someone on how awesome they are.

OK, that’s all from me today, don’t forget that this set is 20% off this week HERE in store. Plus we still have a CRAZY January Sale on for a limited time only, so be sure to grab a bargain while you can & retiring clear stamps or dies before they are gone for good.

Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today 🙂

Stamp Of The Week – All Occasion Sentiments #2

Hey & Happy New Year!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW).

Basically each week I will be choosing a stamp set to dust off & give some inky love to.  I am open to requests of stamp sets to revisit, so if you have a request either leave a comment or drop me an email. Along with giving the set some love, the featured set is also discounted in store for that week.

This week I am dusting off… All Occasion Sentiments #2

AllOccasionSentiments2PP

Now, I have been busy behind the scenes over the Christmas Holiday period, preparing for ALL the exciting things 2016 😉 and getting ahead with things like SOTW. I realised with all the crazy in preparation for Christmas & my life with two 16 month old twin boys (the beans), life isn’t going to calm down anytime soon, so I needed to plan, organise and prepare myself – Lol! So, fingers crossed I theoretically shouldn’t get behind with things!

Anyway, here I am with my first card instalment for the first SOTW of 2016…

2016SOTW1

I chose this set as it is full of possibilities and perfect for creating cards to celebrate the New Year along with birthdays & general hello’s that *hopefully* you will see this week on the blog.

For my card I have paired the set with three other Uniko clear stamp sets, Background Builders: Christmas, Essentially Christmas & Garlands Galore. I love designing the clear stamps so that they can be mixed and matched together to create endless possibilities and give value for money 🙂

2016SOTW1a

I started out by using a Sizzix framelits star die to die cut the aperture out of my white CS panel. I then stamped the trio of liner stars down the edge before adding some glitter using a glue pen to the die cut star edges. The panel was temporarily adhered to the card base so that I could stamp the ‘HAPPY’ and then the New Year was stamped afterwards staring backwards with the ‘R’. Before I adhered the panel to the card base with foam adhesive I decided to add a few random stars stamped in the same VersaMagic Turquoise Gem ink as the ‘HAPPY’.

Hopefully this card will soon arrive at its destination and brought some cheer to one of my friends New Year. One of my resolutions this year is to send ‘more’ if not ALL of the cards I make in 2016. I am really bad at sending cards I make which is terrible for a card maker 🙁 so I WILL rectify this in 2016.

OK, that’s enough waffle from me today, don’t forget that this set is 20% off this week HERE in store. Plus we still have a CRAZY January Sale on for a limited time only, so be sure to grab a bargain while you can & retiring clear stamps or dies before they are gone for good.

Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today 🙂

Stamp Of The Week – Simply Said Christmas

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (I took a little break last week due to the November Release & NEW stamps now available in the shop).

Basically each week I will be choosing a stamp set to dust off & give some inky love to. Though I am open to requests of stamp sets to revisit, so if you have a request either leave a comment or drop me an email. Along with giving the set some love, the featured set is also discounted in store for that week.

This week I am dusting off… Simply Said Christmas

SimplySaidChristmasPP

This set is a wonderful mini clear stamp set featuring popular Christmas/Holiday sentiments in trendy modern fonts. They are sized so that they can be the focal point of the card with minimal decoration or they can enhance any Christmas/Holiday image in your stamp collection, even those from other popular companies.

Today I am sharing a card which I made for the recent class at The Paperlane…

SOTW18

The purpose of this card was to show how the outline Christmas tree from the NEW Essentially Christmas coordinates with the Christmas trees in Background Builders: Christmas. The Merry Christmas sentiment from Simply Said Christmas was perfect to fill the gap at the bottom of the tag & to ‘ground’ the Christmas tree.

SOTW18a

The tree is decorated with tiny outline circles (a teeny tiny stamp from the Essentially Christmas set) stamped in black ink & coloured with At You Spica pens that have a slight sparkle to them.

Short & sweet from me this afternoon, I have two posts HERE and HERE over on the Uniko Blogger blog! I’ve been a busy bee in the Uniko ‘studio’.

I will be back again tomorrow with more to share using this set combined with other Uniko stamps & possibly some old favourite stamps from other companies 😉 Don’t forget this set is discounted this week HERE in store.

Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today.

Stamp Of The Week – Label Love: Thank you

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week. Basically each week I will be choosing a stamp set to dust off & give some inky love to. Though I am open to requests of stamp sets to revisit, so if you have a request either leave a comment or drop me an email. Along with giving the set some love, the featured set is also discounted in store for that week.

This week I am dusting off Label Love: Thank you

LabelLoveThankYouPP

This set has a multitude of possibilities and I hope to show you what it is capable of this week. With Christmas the top priority for many crafters and card makers right now, I will be paring it with another of the Label Love series – Label Love: Christmas along with other Uniko stamp sets. Don’t forget that the set is 15% off this week HERE.

Anyway, today I have used the set with Background Builders: Squared and gone for a geometric rainbow style card…

SOTW12

I said in yesterday’s post that I would be showing more examples of easy geometric style cards suitable to enter into our current challenge HERE.

As you can see I have gone for circles. I have stamped the label in black ink onto white card & punched it out using my 1 3/4″ circle punch. I have then double die cut a larger circle to create a circle frame so that you can see the rainbow stripes between. For this I used my Sizzix Framelits 2″ and 2 1/2″ circle dies.

SOTW12a

To go along with the rainbow theme I coloured the outline THANKS sentiment in the colours I used for the stripes and added a few candy dots & rhinestones in some of the colours used too.

Ok, that is all from me today using this weeks Stamp Of The Week, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. I have another quick CAS geometric card HERE to share with you, so be sure to check it out. Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today.

Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1

Hey!

Well, I don’t know how Sunday evening happened! This weekend has gone crazy quick and these little beans are keeping me on the go, as well as all the household chores which are A LOT easier to accomplish when hubby is home to keep them occupied.

I was hoping to have more to share with you today, to make up for missing Friday & Saturday, but I have just the two cards using this weeks Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1.

FlowerPower1PP

Don’t forget that tonight is the last night to get this set at 15% off HERE, it will revert back to normal price tomorrow as I will have a new Stamp Of The Week.

Anyway, onto my cards…

SOTW11b

My first card is super CAS and inspired by the new sketch seen HERE and below over at CAS – Colours & Sketches. I also used the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below.

2015.10.22 #147 sketch

cqc313

My card was really quick to make, the longest part was fussy cutting out the flowers! The Melon Mambo one was adhered to the card using double sided tape & the Pink Pirouette one using foam adhesive.

SOTW11c

My next card was inspired by the current Uniko Challenge HERE, which is all about using Geometrics. I had planned on sharing this card on Friday but it didn’t happen unfortunately, but it did today…

SOTW11

I started out by stamping my sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #6 and then began stamping the larger squares from Background Builders: Squared in Melon Mambo. Before stamping the Real Red small outline squares I first over stamped the large squares with the outline flower from Flower Power #1 in black ink.

SOTW11a

The layout and placement of the squares was random, though I tried to keep in mind the balance and triangle of placing my elements. The colours of my card are inspired by the current Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below.

swatch+365

I’ll be sharing more ideas this week in how to add simple geometrics to your cards & creations and of course the new Stamp Of The Week, another oldie but a goodie stamp set with tons of possibilities, especially with Christmas fast approaching. I am always open for requests if there is a stamp set you would like me to use as Stamp Of The Week, either email me or leave me a comment.

Ok, that’s all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today & I hope you have enjoyed this weeks Stamp Of The Week.

Stamp Of The Week – Flower Power #1

Hey!

Stamp of the Week is a new feature here at Uniko.

It is one I have been wanting to do for some time & with the results of the recent survey I did it is something 69% of you wanted too. Even though every other month the DT and I revisit a previously released set, there are MANY more clear stamp sets that deserve some LOVE!

So, what is stamp of the week?

Well, each week I will be focusing on a different stamp set on this the Uniko website blog, I will be featuring a variety of cards, tags, projects and hopefully videos. The stamp of the week will be the main focus but I will also be showing how it pairs with other products from Uniko & other reputable companies. Along with all that the featured stamp set will be available in store at a discounted price for that week only.

This weeks stamp of the week – Flower Power #1

FlowerPower1PP

Today I have one card two ways and they are the designs I originally had planned to share yesterday which wouldn’t work for me but today, no problem!

SOTW8

I decided to continue with my Christmas theme for my first card and combined Flower Power #1 with tiny stamps from two other Uniko clear stamp sets, Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions and Label Love: Christmas.

SOTW8a

I started out by drawing a faint pencil circle & then stamped the two sizes of outline holly leaves from Label Love: Christmas around the circle, then filling in gaps with the single solid holly leaf from Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions. The flowers are the largest of the trio of flowers stamped & fussy cut out. Again like yesterdays card HERE I used the holly berry stamp to add the flower detail to make them resemble poinsettias. The sentiment is from Simply Said Christmas & heat embossed in gold.

My next card is the same design but uses different colours & leaf stamps to create a more autumnal card…

SOTW8b

I followed the same steps for this card as I did for the first, I simply used the two matching but mirrored leaves from Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions. My colours were inspired by the current CAS – Colours & Sketches challenge colours seen HERE and below.

2015.10.15 #146 cols

SOTW8c

This time instead of making the flowers to look like poinsettias I left them as flowers and added rhinestones to the centres for sparkle. I also added a few randomly around the wreath.

Ok, that’s all from me today, I hope I have inspired you a little more this evening. I will be back again tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today.
