June 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

It’s time for another Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY! As June isn’t a release month, the Design Team and I are here today to revisit and give some fresh inky love to a previously released clear stamp set.

This month I decided to dust off and revisit the previously released Originally Organic clear stamp set and also take the opportunity to get a closer look at the matching dies too!

This clear stamp set was released last year HERE and was and still is hugely popular. Now with the matching dies, it has even more possibilities.

As usual I have picked a couple of my ‘old’ favourites using this set and I am sharing them over HERE at the start of the hop as I have LOTS of  fresh inspiration for you…

My first two cards use my favourite image from the set and were created at the same time and have an a Ying & Yang feel to them.

This first card was created by using the matching die to create a stencil and apply the rainbow of distress ink through it, creating a one layer card. The coordinating image and sentiment were placed and stamped using the MISTI. A few of my favourite enamel dots were added to finish the card off.

My second card was created as a result of a boo boo on my first one layer card. I dropped one of my inked stamps onto it and so instead of wasting the image I die cut it out. This time I thought it would be fun to add the rainbow image to a black card base with a white heat embossed sentiment. As my black card off cut was slightly thinner width wise of my usual card bases, I layered it onto a white base to add simple contrast and detail down the left hand side. Again I added my favourite enamel dots were added to finish.

Next I wanted to use the die to match a couple of the smaller stamps in the set…

This card has an almost Lily Pad feel to it as if you were looking at the edge of a pond with the reeds peeking from behind the die cut curve.

This nicely lead onto my next card, which again uses some of the smaller stamps contained in the set. This time I was inspired by and combined a couple of challenges…

First up the layout of my card is from the current CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge HERE and seen below and my colour choice from the current Color Throwdown HERE and seen below.

I kept things really simple and minimal embellishment due to using an all over pattern. The stitched frame die is from Stampin’ Up!

Lastly I couldn’t end the post without using the other large and main image from the set and the matching dies to go with it!

Again I kept the design simple, letting the floral design and sentiment take the stage. What I especially like about this card is the layers of dimension. The stem and leaves die cut is adhered to the white mat layer using thin foam adhesive and then the flowers are adhered using the normal thicker foam adhesive. I then achieved more depth by stamping the floral stamens onto the white mat layer.

I added some subtle sparkle to the leaves with Clear Wink Of Stella, a trio of pearls and some tiny dots of Nuvo Glitter Drops to the stamens.

All of the cards are so pretty but the
one with the flowers on the black is
    my favorite. The black really
    makes the flowers stand out
    and catch your attention.
