Revisited Clear Stamp Sets (Page 2)

A Year in Review – 2019

Hello!

I do hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Holiday Season. I had a lovely time with my little family. Most of all I have and still am enjoying some much needed downtime and family time. Just doing a little bit of work here and there. It’ll be all back to normal on Monday 6th, when The Beans go back to school!

I thought I would pop by today and share a Year in Review, looking back at each of the releases and picking out a few of my favourite products I’ve designed this year.

February…

The releases in February are always one of my most favourite and memorable as it coincides with Uniko’s Birthday celebrations. This release saw 6 clear stamp sets, two coordinating designer die collections and 1 new stencil design.

From all the products released this month, it was really hard to pick just one favourite to use on a card today, as I am biased and loved all the products! But, as you can see I chose to use Background Blocks Graffiti Texture.

I chose this stamp as a favourite as it is so good to use for those hard to make masculine cards. Especially teens and younger men. Simply pair the stamp with an ink blended background and a trio of sentiments and voila! a simple masculine birthday card.

April…

This year April is my all time favourite release! These clear stamp set designs in this release come from the heart, my love and passion for design. I ignored all the trends I was seeing and just went with what I love. AND it looks like you all loved Background Blocks Mid Century Modern as much as me, as it is still proving to be popular and it’s the best seller the this year! And not surprisingly, closely followed by Mid Century Modern Florals.

With this is seemed only fitting that I should make another card using them both!

July…

This release was quite trend based. With the Tropical trend still in full swing and forecast to make appearances in 2020, I added to the Uniko Paradise collection with the Large Background Tropical Paradise. The other trend that is growing more and more is animal print and again is set to continue into 2020.

I chose though to use Sentiments Outlined for my card today. I love the simplicity of this sentiment set and though it be small, there are so many creative possibilities with it!

On this card I have paired it with the Uniko Style flower, an oldie now, but still a favourite. With the sentiment being fairly large for the layout I chose, I have kept it as an outline sentiment and the embellishments minimal.

October…

This was my final release for 2019 and a simple Christmas themed release. With the mix of florals, snowflakes & traditional Christmas clear stamps, designer dies and stencils, it was again hard to choose a favourite to focus on.

But, I have a thing for snowflakes and as we’ve yet to have any snow here, I had to use the Designer Die Sparkling Snowflake!

Here I have done some simple but effective inlay die cutting and added a simple ‘Let it Snow’ sentiment from Festive Sentiments Outlined. I added some white gel pen to the inside of the sentiment and embellished the card with some random white gel pen snowflake dots.

In comparison to previous years, the products I have designed and released is quite modest. A total of 17 new clear stamp sets and 1 re-introduced. 6 designer die collections and 1 stand alone die AND 8 new stencil designs.

It’s nice to look back and see what I have achieved as a designer and a small UK business. It’s also a reminder to be true to myself, take chances and be unique.

Don’t forget that there is still time to take advantage of the little Christmas discount, it ends 9am GMT Thursday 2nd January 2020.

Here’s the end to a FABulous year and the start of new and exciting year ahead!

Thanks so much for sticking with me on my journey, supporting my small business and most of all for all your truly appreciated custom. See you in 2020!

The Holly & The Ivy

Happy Friday!

Oh my, the days are just flying by and the last Christmas posting dates are fast approaching. I feel like I still have a mountain of Christmas cards to make and post – ack!

With no new release here until January 2020, I thought I would do some much needed restocks. This week a HUGE batch of clear stamps arrived in the studio – YAY!

As you know, I love a good restock. It inspires me to dust off stamps I’ve not used for a while and give them some fresh inky love. One of the clear stamp sets that came back in stock this week is Background Builders: Vines, and this is how I was inspired to use it today, along with Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions…

These stamp sets were designed to be used independently, but also together. I just LOVE how this card turned out. I used the vine boughs from Background Builders: Vines and embellished them with the ivy leaf, holly leaf and berries.

The sentiment is from Festive Sentiments and I popped it up on the card with some foam adhesive.

That’s all I have to share with you today. I hope you all have a wonderful day and find some time to be creative.

UnikoJuneRevisit1

I was totally inspired by the current sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below. The rectangle feature of the sketch screamed to have the halftone explosion ‘spotlight’ stamped. AND it looks like great minds think alike, as I wasn’t the only one. Be sure to check out DT Julies card 😉

FMS Final 391-001

I absolutely LOVED the Catherine Pooler ink colours I used for THIS card using the Explosion! collection, that I decided to use them again! I’ve used Rockin’ Red, Suede Shoes and Limoncello.

UnikoJuneRevisit1b

I’ve used Copic Makers Y35, YR09 and YR16 to colour the BAM! and the Happy Father’s Day sentiment is from Simply Said.

That’s all I have to share with you today using this collection of Uniko products, but be sure to visit my awesome Design Team for even more inspiration. Don’t forget to leave some comment love, which will also put you in the chance of winning a £25 eGift Certificate!

March 2019 Non Release Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

Welcome to the March 2019 Non-Release Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

For those of you who are new around these parts I will explain what this post is all about…

Here at Uniko HQ it is just myself behind the screen, blogging, designing, packaging stamps & orders through the Uniko online shop, customer service and all the things in between. I *usually* release new product every other month for a number of reasons, but mainly so I can keep up with everything!

On non – release months like this month I like to set myself and the Design Team a challenge to look back at a previously released product and give it some more love.

With Spring just around the corner here in the Northern Hemisphere, I thought it would be nice to give some fresh inky love to Spring Botanicals Daffodil, Spring Botanicals Snowdrop and Stencil Bright Butterflies.

As usual we have our GIVEAWAY, so be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win Spring Botanicals Daffodil and Stencil Bright Butterflies (an alternative prize to the same value will be offered if the winner already owns these). You have until Midnight (GMT) Saturday 16th March 2019 to comment, winner will be announced shortly after.

I’ve created a trio of cards to share with you today using all 3 products and some different techniques on each of them.

First up I have used Spring Botanicals Daffodil

MarchDTbh1

I’d created this scored Basic Grey (Stampin’ Up!) card base probably more than a week ago. I’ve been loving the trend I have been seeing around social media of adding embossed scored lines to cards. After purchasing a new Fiskars mini paper trimmer with interchangeable blades, I had to give it a go!

MarchDTbh1a

I decided to do some partial fussy cutting of the daffodil, which is stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with detail white EP. I used Prismacolor Pencils to colour the daffodil and adhered the panel to the scored card base using foam adhesive. The sentiment is also from Spring Botanicals Daffodil and heat embossed.

Next I thought I would try my hand at some more no line colouring…

MarchDTbh2

This time I used Spring Botanicals Snowdrop. I’ve stamped the snowdrops on to Crumb Cake card using VersaMark ink. I then used my Prismacolor Pencils to colour the image in. Stamping on the kraft card base made it easier to colour the white flowers 😉

MarchDTbh2a

The sentiment is from Spring Botanicals Daffodil and again is heat embossed.

Lastly I was inspired to use the Stencil Bright Butterflies

MarchDTbh3

Earlier in the week I’d seen the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and blelow, and thought it would be perfect for some stencilling!

CTS_312

I used my ink daubers to selectively ink the butterflies and flowers and I simply chose some bright Altenew ink colours (Fresh Lemon, Orange Cream, Aqualicious and Rubellite). I then went over the top with Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste – love this stuff! I finished the card off with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II.

MarchDTbh3a

That’s all I have to share with you today, but be sure to hop along with the DT and comment for your chance to win 😉

What an inspirational hop, so many new ideas, I hope you all enjoyed it too 🙂

Thanks for joining in on the fun.

Lots of Happy!

Hey!

LOTS of happy arrived at Uniko HQ this week, which included a few clear stamp restocks Simply Said Blocks, Simply Said Blocks II, Sweet Baby, Reach For The Stars & Happy Succulents. When restocks arrive they always inspire me to ink them up again, so I set aside some time to create!

Today I thought I would share the card I made using Happy Succulents

LotsOfHappy

I’ve used the large succulent corner spray image for my main focal point and added one of the sentiment options contained in the set. Apart from the colouring, which didn’t take too long with my Prismacolor Pencils, this card came together pretty quick.

LotsOfHappy1

I used my MISTI tool to stamp the main image, as it is quite large it often takes a couple of stamps to get a crisp image.

LotsOfHappy2

I used one pink and three greens to colour the image and added some of my favourite Gloss White Nuvo Drops as an embellishment accent.

This clear stamp set is available on the website along with the others I listed at the top of the post. I hope this has added some cheer to your Sunday afternoon 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.

September 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!! Apologies for my lateness in posting, I simply ran out of time before vacation to prep and didn’t have the energy on a night whilst away to work!

Anyway, this month I couldn’t decide on the product and as a team we randomly selected a stamp set and then I went a little polka crazy and added in some popular sentiment sets too…

Large Background Scattered Polka Dots

Large Background Scattered Polka Hearts

Simply Said Blocks

Simply Said Blocks II

Stencil Scattered Polka Dots

These clear stamp sets and stencils are perfect for all sorts of backgrounds for all sorts of occasions that the Design Team will show you. They are a perfect addition to anyones crafting arsenal!

Here is what I decided to make…

I was inspired to use the Large Background Scattered Polka Dots and Large Background Scattered Polka Hearts to create a couple of cards to look like wrapped presents.

UnikoSeptRV1

I started with the Large Background Scattered Polka Dots, stamping it in VersaMark ink and embossing in white onto my favourite Coastal Cabana card stock. I then wrapped white bakers twine around as you would with string around a present and secured it in a bow. I’ve then mounted the panel to a matching card base using foam adhesive. The sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II is stamped onto a Pretty Pink Posh die cut tag and adhered to the card.

UnikoSeptRV1a

I used the same design process for my next card using the Large Background Scattered Polka Hearts, but this time I changed the orientation to portrait.

UnikoSeptRV2

This time I stamped the polka hearts in Altenew Coral Berry ink and again the sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks II.

UnikoSeptRV2a

That’s all from me, but let’s see how the design team have been inspired to use the products and be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win a Uniko £20 eGift Certificate. You have until Midnight (GMT) until midnight BST Saturday 22nd Sept 2018 to comment.

Happy Hopping!

Guest Designer Inspiration with Anna Uhras

Hi Dear Uniko Friends!

Anna here again today bringing you my last (but not least) page made for my GDT spot here at Uniko. I’ve had a blast playing with all the gorgeous stamps, stencils and dies Bev sent to me to create with.

Thank you so much sweet Bev <3

For this layout I’ve made my own background papers using the Paradise Leaves Clear Stamps.  The word “kindness” you can find in the Simply Said II Clear Stamp set. The papers in my layers under my photo are by Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush collection and my title is also by Heidi Swapp  but from my hoarded stash 🙂

I fussy cut some of the leafs and mounted them with 3d tape to get some dimension. Lastly, I finished my page off with some stitches my by sewing machine and some dots of Nuvo Jewel Drops. I do really love these leafs, they are absolutely gorgeous.

I hope that you have got some new ideas and some inspiration from my creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by here today! See you out in the scrappy world <3

Take care! Hugs Anna xo

March 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!!

Usually I choose just one product that was released the previous year or a once favourite that hasn’t seen much air time. This month with the recent additions to the Design Team, The Stencil Design Team and having released last month a co-ordinating stencil to the previously released Fun Flowers clear stamp set. I thought it would be nice to showcase both the stencil and clear stamp set.

I managed to find a little creative time and mojo and created a ‘twofer’ to share with you! I’ve been wanting to join in on the Twofer Challenge HERE since it first launched, but time hasn’t been on mind side 🙁

UnikoRevisit318b

For my first card I used just the Fun Flowers clear stamp set. Reaching for the CAS Colour & Sketches challenge colours HERE, that I still had on my desk! Some simple ‘off stamping’ to create a slightly muted cascade of flowers and embellishing with one of the large Fun Flower possibilities. The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks.

UnikoRevisit318c

Next I decided to pair some monochrome Fun Flowers with a colourful stencilled die cut using the coordinating Fun Flowers Stencil and this time the CAS Colour & Sketches challenge colours in Distress Oxide Inks!

UnikoRevisit318e

I over embellished the flowers with some Altenew and Stampin’ Up! enamel dots, I just can’t resist using them! This time I chose the ‘HAPPY’ sentiment from Simply Said Blocks, which I will then add a sentiment inside such as ‘birthday’, ‘belated birthday’, etc etc.

UnikoRevisit318d

Ok, so I am entering my ‘twofer’ over HERE and I hope that I have inspired you to join in on that fun challenge and this weeks CAS Colours & Sketches challenge too 😉

Happy 6th Birthday Uniko!

Welcome to The Uniko 6th Birthday Treasure Hunt!

Over 6 years Uniko has produced 104 (not including 2018s) clear stamp sets and I am delighted that some of these early clear stamp sets are still popular today!
Today the Design Team and a couple of ‘special guests’ have created a FUN clear stamp set treasure hunt blog hop for you to join in on.
The aim of the treasure hunt is for you not only to be inspired by each of projects the DT and our guests are sharing, but also to find a NAME of a clear stamp set from each of the 6 years Uniko has been going, from 2012 – 2017.
Each person along the hop will have created a project using a clear stamp set from the year they were allocated. They will also mention the year that the clear stamp set was released somewhere in their blog post.
There are 11 amazing and inspirational designers in the hop and one Design Team Member has created 2 projects using 2 clear stamp sets from the six years. So there are 2 clear stamp sets from each of the 6 years to be found. Easy peasy!
Jot these answers down in an email like this for example:
2012 Pure Florals: Poinsettia / Pure Florals: Gerbera
2013 Background Builders: Round In Circles
2014 Explosion!
2015 Balloon Bash
2016 Originally Organic
2017 Reach For The Stars
Then email your answers to bev@uniko.co.uk by 9am GMT Sunday 18th February 2018. You will then be entered into a prize draw. Keep reading to find out what the prizes are!
So which clear stamp set was I allocated from the 104 I have designed over 6 years?
Yep, you might have guessed correctly from the sneak peek you saw over at the start of the hop, Uniko Style!
UnikoStylePP
This little clear stamp set was released back in February 2017 during our 5th Birthday celebrations and it only seems fitting to revisit it and give it some more inky love.
UnikoTH1
I decided to make a two cards using the set with a colour scheme inspired by the Uniko brand colours. The first card I made is my usual clean and simple style.
UnikoTH1e
I started out by masking the top section of my white mat layer with post it notes and then proceeded to stamp the outline flower in the trio of colours, adding the large circular enters in the same colour and then the smaller oval black. The sentiment is a mix from Happy Succulents and Simply Said Blocks, two other clear stamp sets that debuted in 2017.
UnikoTH1f
My next card was created organically and I had no layout planned out before I started stamping. The only idea I had as my starting point, was to use the two small solid circular stamps from the set.
UnikoTH1g
I decided to stamp these randomly in the pink and aqua colours. I then decided to use the outline flower shape, stamping it in black so that the aqua circles were inside. I then went in and added the oval black centres a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks and some Altenew enamel dots. Having not used the turquoise colour from the Uniko brand, I decided to trim my stamped panel and add a small strip of Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores card to the lower section.
UnikoTH1d
That’s all I have to share using this clear stamp set today. Be sure to make a note of the name and year and hop along to the lovely Carol, to find the next clear stamp set and year in the Treasure Hunt!
If you get lost along the way here is the list of the Uniko DT and Special Guests taking part…
Now with any kind of celebration and hop there are prizes and this is what you could win by joining in on the Treasure Hunt. Yep, there is more fun and prizes to be won in the next couple of weeks leading up until Release Day February 28th!

Treasure Hunt Prizes!

I will randomly select THREE winners from all the correct entries that name 6 clear stamp sets from each year (2012-2017), to receive an in stock clear stamp set of their choosing.

I will also randomly select ONE lucky winner to receive a £60 eGift Certificate to spend in the Uniko store to those who name and email all 12 clear stamp sets from each of the 6 years!

Happy Hopping & Hunting!

Hugs

January 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy Sunday!

It’s time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY – Whoohoo!! As it is non release month here at Uniko, the Design Team and myself challenge ourselves to dust off and give some fresh inky love to a previously released product. Usually I choose the product and challenge the DT to come up with something new.

This month I gave the DT a BIG task of choosing their favourite product from ALL of the ones released in 2017! That’s a choice from 24 clear stamp sets, 5 stencil designs and 2 designer die collections. That might not sound a lot compared to other companies out there, but that is a HUGE inventory for me and Uniko 😉

Having said that I really had a hard time choosing a product to focus on for todays hop, I love all the products I design and ‘yes’, I often say how one is a particular favourite, maybe because the inspiration using it continues to flow easily?

Anyway, I ‘ummed’ and ‘ahhhd’ for a while and then remembered that Uniko was being featured in a magazine this month! So I searched my emails for the information and whilst doing the weekly food shop, stopped by the magazine section and picked myself up a copy of Quick Cards Made Easy!

Here are a few peeks at the feature…

UnikoJan18DTBlogHop1a

UnikoJan18DTBlogHop1b

UnikoJan18DTBlogHop1c

So, after seeing this it inspired me to dust off Reach For The Stars and make my card for today!

UnikoJan18DTBlogHop1

I was also influenced by THIS card by Design Team Member Carol, who is on the DT for the “Just Us Girls” challenge HERE and prompted me to join in on the fun over there too!

Screen Shot 2017-11-27 at 7.07.18 PM

I used a mixture of Distress Oxide inks, Altenew Desert Night and VersaFine Onyx Black inks to create my galaxy/night sky background. The ‘thankful’ sentiment is also from Reach For The Stars and is heat embossed in Cosmic Shimmer Detail White EP.

UnikoJan18DTBlogHop1d

I opted for a ‘thankful’ sentiment so that I could join in on the fun over at Time Out Challenges, with their 100th challenge HERE too AND you can never have too many thank you cards!

thankful

Forever the CASness will remain and I simply opted to adhere the panel to a white card base with foam adhesive. Before which I did ‘bravely’ splatter some water over the panel for a oxide effect!

That’s all I have to share for today, I was hoping to have created more using this set and others, but my creativity is being hampered by day to day running of Uniko and being a mummy to 2 cheeky Beans!!

Anyway, be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win a £15 eGift Certificate to spend in store. You have until Midnight (GMT) Sunday 21st January 2018 to comment.

Happy Hopping!
