Happy Birthday Mum

Hey!

Here we are at the beginning of another week, I really don’t know where these days and weeks are going! This past weekend seemed to fly by even though I spent another long 24hrs in bed from Friday evening until Saturday evening suffering from yet another stomach sickness bug 🙁 The beans were ill on Thursday with it and luckily we are all over it now, fingers crossed it stays away!

Anyway, I did find a little creative energy last night to create a birthday card. This is for my mum and in remembrance of my mum who passed away suddenly in April 2008.

My mum would have been 69 years old today and as I have always done I made a card to celebrate her life. She taught me so much and showed me so much love during the time we had together and is truly missed. Like most mums she liked flowers and Chrysanthemums were one of her favourites.

I decided to have a little ‘play’ along with the current challenge over at ColourQ HERE and seen below. The colours were perfect for me to use Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum.

I kept my card pretty simple, masking and stamping the smallest outline flower and leaf inside a circle die cut onto a white CS base layer, I then over-stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink. The circle die cut panel is adhered to the card using foam adhesive and I finished the card off with a trio of enamel dots.

That’s all I have to share right now, but this week is a BUSY BUSY one, with a few clear stamp restocks HERE and we have our November Release, which is also our final release for 2016. The fun begins on Wednesday 23rd November 9am GMT! I do hope you will join us?!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Stamp Of The Week – Beautiful Blooms I

Hey!

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween to those who celebrate. This week I have opted for a seasonal change and I have gone for a floral set to revisit. This week I am dusting off Beautiful Blooms I and the coordinating Beautiful Blooms I Designer Dies

BeautiflBloomsIPP

BeautifulBloomsIDD

Floral clear stamps are good all year round and they can also be prettied up to go with the seasons, as I will hopefully show you this week 😉 When they have a set of dies to match, there are even more possibilities!

Here is what I came up with for today…

2016SOTW97
{click photo for a closer look}

On my card I have used the smallest of the blooms and the coordinating die. I was inspired by the pretty photo inspiration over a Fusion Card Challenge seen HERE and below, soft and subtle are the key words.

New Banner-017

I was also inspired to create a celebration card. “Less is More” are celebrating a BIG milestone this week, 300 challenges HERE. The theme this week is to create a celebratory CAS card.

I started by die cutting the bloom and then temporarily adhering the panel to my card base, so I could stamp through the die cut and have perfect positioning. The MISTI is on my Christmas wish list and I am dropping HUGE hints to Santa that I could *really* do with this tool now 😉

2016SOTW97a{click photo for a closer look}

Down the edge of my panel I adhered some SU! Washi tape, I can’t quite remember what collection it came from (sorry) the colour is either Pool Party or Mint Macaron. The sentiment is from Simply Said and stamped in Going Grey ink and I added a few rhinestones to finish the card off.

That’s all I have to share today, my mojo is a little slow as the beans decided to do some climbing antics at nap time and therefore didn’t nap. Mummy therefore didn’t get her usual lunchtime R&R and is feeling a little tired. I will however be back tomorrow with more using this set.

This week I am giving you the opportunity to purchase both the Beautiful Blooms I clear stamp set and Designer Dies in a bundle at 15% off HERE for this week only.

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by 🙂

Sept/Oct Reveal, Release & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

Happy Weekend, Happy World Card Making Day AND HAPPY Release Day here at Uniko HQ! Now, I am busy at Happy Stampers Festival too today, I look forward to seeing some of you too. But for those of you too far away how about some inspiration using these five new clear stamp sets!

If you haven’t seen the sets in full you can check them out HERE, along with finding all the link to the DT blogs if you find a broken/missing link along the way 😉

Lets get to the eye candy…

ReleaseDay1

For my first card I have combined Christmas Sparkle with the previously released Pure Florals: Poinsettia, along with the new Winter Foliage pine sprigs and a sentiment from Simply Said Christmas.

This was another design that I had in my head when designing this set and it worked out pretty good 🙂

ReleaseDay1aNext I decided to give Originally Organic a whirl…

ReleaseDay2

This time I decided to add more of a fresh Spring colour palette to the design. I simply used a trio of SU! markers to colour the image.

ReleaseDay2a

This design led to the next design and if I’d of had more time and energy I think they’d have kept flowing! Again, I kept to the same colour palette but used the floral images…

ReleaseDay3

With the images being of reasonable size it is easy to fill the space and create a design which flows with the curves and waves of the outline stamps.

ReleaseDay3a

Lastly and by no means least I used Marvellous Mehndi…

ReleaseDay4

Again, simple black outline stamping and selective colouring using SU! markers. The sentiment is from Strike A Pose! with the filmstrip edges trimmed off.

ReleaseDay4a

Ok, that’s all from me today. Be sure to hop along the links below and leave a comment for your chance to win the ENTIRE release. You have until midnight Sunday 9th October BST.

Introducing… Originally Organic

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the Sept/Oct product  release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 5 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you. If you missed the peeks, you can catch up on them HERE, HERE and HERE.

Today the Design Team and I are introducing you to a clear stamp set called Originally Organic. This is a modern floral/foliage set with a collection of positive friendship and growth sentiments. I designed this clear stamp set at the same time as the FREEBIE digital stamp collection featured and available for download from Simply Cards & Papercrafts HERE.

I have shared a couple of projects over HERE and the release schedule is outlined over there too. I had SO much fun using this new set, that I made quite a few cards, so here are a couple more…

IntroOriginallyOrganic2

This card showcases the smaller stamps contained in the set and another of the sentiments. I wanted the card to be colourful, so reached for my favourite colour combo!

IntroOriginallyOrganic2a

I’ve used this layout before and it is a good one for showcasing a full stamped panel. As you can (hopefully) see I added some clear Wink Of Stella and a few SU! It’s My Party enamel dots.

Ok, that’s all I have to share with you here, but hop along the Design Team Blog links below for even more inspiration. I know for a fact you won’t be disappointed, the team have created amazing projects showcasing how this set can be used…

The set will be fully revealed and available to purchase HERE on Saturday October 1st (World Card Making Day!) at 9am BST. However, the Design Team and I will be back tomorrow with two more product introductions and lots more inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you tomorrow 😉

Uniko & Simply Cards & Papercrafts

Hey!

Argh, so much for getting back into a routine, first one of the playgroups is cancelled this week AND then I end up with a stinking cold, with two crazy 2 year olds running riot!

Anyway, you might have seen me share this on Facebook the other day…

Yep, Uniko is featured in Simply Cards & Papercrafts again, and this time I have designed a lovely floral digital stamp collection. The issue is out and available to buy today from most leading supermarkets and shops who sell magazines.

The digital collection is available to download HERE.

For those of you unable to locate or purchase the magazine here is a peek at the feature…

AND how about a close up of a couple of the cards I made using the digital stamps…

I hope to share a few more projects using this collection soon, but in the mean time I’d LOVE to see what you create if you download and use the collection. Please email photos of your projects to bev@uniko.co.uk and say if you are happy for me to share them here on the blog too!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the freebie!

Inspired By A Song Title! This sounds like a hard challenge, but when you google a word to see if it appears in a song title, you WILL be surprised as to how many there are!!

You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products.

Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!

Isn’t it fabulous, all those delicate stitches.

CLICK HERE to see more from Glenda and leave some love 🙂

This time I went for something more feminine and floral…

USC#35c

I was inspired firstly by the song ‘Bed Of Roses’ by Bon Jovi and secondly when I saw the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below, it was perfect for my scattered bed of roses!

CTS_187

I used the rose stamp and leaves from Flower Power #6 and a sentiment from Simply Said. I wanted the roses to have more of a scattered appearance rather than line them up in rows, saved all the measuring and spacing too 😉

USC#35d

Ok, that’s all from me today, but be sure to head on over HERE to see what the rest of the Design Team came up with. All the info on PRIZES and the link up can be found over there too!

Hope to see you in the gallery!

August 2016 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

With the summer holidays in full swing here in the UK and as I spend time with my beans and family you might have guessed with no sneak peeks that there is no new release this month. So instead we have another Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY instead!

This month I decided upon the Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum clear stamp set, probably due to the lovely summer blooms that I am seeing on my days out and time in the garden!

This is what I came up with…

Aug2016DTbloghop

As usual I turned to a couple of challenges to spark my creativity! It’s been a little all over the place these past few weeks and so I needed a little help again 😉

For the layout of my card I used the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 249-001

I then needed a colour scheme for my card so I turned to the Color Throwdown seen HERE and below. A lovely summery combination this week perfect for florals.

swatch405

Quite a simple CAS card with a little masking and stamping! I started by stamping the sentiment and masking it off to stamp the flower and leaves. I added a little more interest to the card by dividing my aqua strips of card rather than layering a white piece of CS to create the lines of the sketch.

Aug2016DTbloghop1

Ok, that’s all from me, but there is more inspiration from the team…

Stamp Of The Week – Natures Treasures II

Hey!

This week I have decided to dust off Natures Treasures II as this weeks SOTW…

NaturesTreasuresIIPP copy

This set was and still is one of my favourite and definitely a ‘go to’ set when I need some leaves. It pairs wonderfully with loads of Uniko clear stamp sets, but also works well on it’s own too.

Today, whilst playing with the beans I have been thinking all things wreaths and designing all sorts in my head! This evening, once they had gone to bed it was time to put these virtual designs onto paper…

2016SOTW76

I started by stamping the smallest outline leaf from the set in two colours of green and fussy cut them out. I then adhered them to the card, trimming and tucking in the stems to create a wreath.

2016SOTW76a

I added a sentiment from Simply Said and then stamped tiny flowers from Background Builders: Vines and Winter Vines.

The layout of my card today was also inspired by the new Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 247-001

Ok, that’s all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share using this set. Don’t forget that the set is discounted HERE for this week only.

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by 🙂

USC#34c

I was inspired by the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below and turned to my favourite colour combination to help spark my mojo!

CTS_182

The sentiment is from Simply Said Birthday and the tiny rose and leaves from Background Builders: Vines. I added a few tiny rhinestones to fill the gaps and add a little sparkle.

Stamp Of The Week – Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

Hey!

Apologies for the sudden lack of posts last week, the nice weather made an appearance here in the UK. So I spent quality time with the beans and my husband, making the most of it as we never know how long it will stay! By the time the beans had gone to sleep I was worn out myself and had a few early nights 😉

Anyway, as I didn’t finish the SOTW last week, I am continuing with Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

PFchrysanthemumPP

Todays card is another quick CAS card…

2016SOTW72

As usual I was inspired by a few challenges, the inspiration is needed in this unusual heat we are experiencing right now! First up the layout of my card is from CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below.

CTS_181

Secondly my colour combo is inspired by the current Global Design Project challenge seen HERE and below.

GDP045_Colour_Challenge

Just some simple flat Copic colouring of the smallest Chrysanth blooms today in one of my fave colours 😉 Not much to say about the card really!

2016SOTW72a

Anyway, I will be back tomorrow with more inspiration featuring this set and don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.

Before I go how about a few bean Summer fun photos which I took yesterday…

BeanSummer1

Josh is in the red shirt and Ben the white, playing at their sand and water table minus the sand as they kept throwing it in the pool the day before!

BeanSummer2

Excuse the state of the garden, still trying to clear it of all the bushes and Ivy that had taken it over. Still quite a few hours work to do to get it how I want, though not always the time!

BeanSummer3Thanks for stopping by 🙂
