Uniko & Simply Cards & Papercrafts!

Hey again!

I’m super duper excited to share my latest digital stamp collection and feature in Simply Cards & Papercrafts…

Yep, I’ve been busy again behind the scenes here at Uniko and designed this collection of 4 digital stamps. See them featured in Simply Cards & Papercrafts issue 160. The issue is out and available to buy today from most leading supermarkets and shops who sell magazines.

The digital collection is available to download HERE.

Here are a couple of cards I made using the digital stamps…

I hope to share a few more projects using this collection soon, but in the mean time I’d LOVE to see what you create if you download and use the collection. Please email photos of your projects to bev@uniko.co.uk and say if you are happy for me to share them here on the blog too! Or #unikoltd on Instagram or Facebook.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the freebie!

Introducing… Background Blocks Halftone

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are well underway. Yesterday the Design Team and I introduced Originally Organic Additions and on Monday Block Party Birthday. If you missed them you can catch up HERE and HERE.

Today we are back to introduce you to another new style clear stamp series called Background Blocks. They are what they say, simply a block of yummy pattern!

The first in this series is due to my LOVE of Pop Art and Roy Litchenstien, plus the modern pop art trend is making a come back this year! This stamp along with tomorrows clear stamp set pairs wonderfully with the previously released Explosion! clear stamp set, as you saw over on the Uniko blogspot blog.

As I promised, here are a couple of samples of how Background Blocks Halftone can be paired with florals…

IntroBbHaltone3

{CLICK Photo for a Larger View}
Firstly I decided to pair the halftone pattern with perhaps my favourite sentiment and two stamps from Originally Organic Additions!
IntroBbHaltone3a
{CLICK Photo for a Larger View}
I started by stamping the halftone pattern in Lawn Fawn ink and then used my new Stampin’ Up! largest stitched frame Framelits die to cut the square. I then stamped the sentiment and floral image in VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Once it was all dry and assembled onto my card base I added some Crystal Nuvo to some of the flower and leaves. I also filled in sections of the ‘double’ leaves to cover a little area where I didn’t get a clean stamped image.
My last card uses Originally Organic paired with Originally Organic Additions with a little Halftone feature…
IntroBbHaltone2

I used my MISTI tool to stamp the finest part of the Halftone along the edge of a white CS panel in Lawn Fawn Merman ink. I then stamped the stem and leaves from Originally Organic and the flower buds and sentiment from Originally Organic Additions.

Introducing… Originally Organic Additions

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are well underway. Yesterday the Design Team and I introduced Block Party Birthday. If you missed it you can catch up HERE.

Today, we are back with the introduction of Originally Organic Additions – YAY! Originally Organic was introduced back in Sept/Oct last year HERE and I also had a feature and digital stamp collection in Simply Cards & Papercrafts HERE.

As both the clear stamps and digital stamps were so popular I decided to turn a few of the digital stamps into physical ones. Plus both sets can be mixed to create more possibilities, which I am sure you will see over the coming days/weeks 😉

Today I have focused on two of the smaller stamps in the set to create my own simple stamped background.

IntroOOadditions1

I’ve used another of the sentiments from the new set, again they are friendship and encouragement themed and have the same font mix that appears to be very popular.

I had a little trip out with the beans and a couple of crafty friends yesterday afternoon to the local Crafters Companion store. They have a lovely cafe too! So after a quick look round we sat, ate and decided what out purchases would be 😉

Anyway, I chose to try some lovely Lawn Fawn inks. The small outline flower and flower stem, which are two separate stamps are stamped in Manatee ink, a lovely soft grey. I was really pleased to discover that these inks withhold alcohol marker bleeding, so I coloured parts of the flower in with 3 different markers.

Hey!

I’m super duper pleased you have popped back today as again we have LOTS more fun to share with you!

This post is simply awesome! As myself and Uniko are proud to be sponsoring the challenge  over at AAA Cards this fortnight. This fortnight the challenge HERE is Watercolour…

The Uniko Design Team and myself have joined in on the fun and created some watercolour inspiration for you. First up is the card I have created…

I decided to give some more NBUS a whirl and you are getting a early peek at 3 new stamps that we will be introducing on Tuesday 😉 I’ve also FINALLY got my hands on the Stampin’ Up! Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies – woohoo! I’ve wanted these dies for AGES and I got them last week in time for the Uniko February & 5th Birthday Release celebrations.

I also decided to have a ‘play’ and joined in the new CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge seen HERE and below, a fun sketch with lots of possibilities.

I also gave my Zigs a whirl, using 2 shades of pink and a blush colour to blend in from the top and bottom of the die cut circle. The ‘you’ die is also from Stampin’ Up! and I added a good smothering of clear Wink Of Stella.

Super FREE Saturday Returns!

Hey!

Yep, those of you who have been following Uniko for a while may remember a feature I had a few years ago called Super FREE Saturday. It was a featured I did roughly every month, where I  designed a little digital freebie for you all to use. Some were pre coloured, ready to print and cut others were outline images for you to colour.

Anyway, I thought I would reintroduce the feature and again it will be every other month in between releases. I know it IS release month this month, but we’re celebrating so I couldn’t resist having an ‘extra’ freebie for you all to use 😉

https://www.dropbox.com/s/scpjhn5lwly4s9o/SFS%20Feb%202017.zip?dl=0

This is a is a beautiful design especially for those who like to colour! It is called ‘happy roses’ and is a compilation design from a number of Uniko clear stamp sets, Flower Power #6 and Originally Organic. They pair up beautifully 😉

I’ve created a couple of samples to inspire you and show you how they can be used…

This first card both the floral design and sentiment are printed onto white card stock and I have simply coloured the design with Copic Markers. I used a total of 5 markers and just did simple flat colouring.

My next card is again a one layer card. This time I printed the floral design onto Kraft card stock and coloured it in using Prismacolour pencils.

I opted for two shades of yellow, so that the roses would really ‘pop’ against the Kraft card stock. The sentiment is stamped and is also a little sneak at a sentiment from a set we will be introducing on Tuesday 😉

I’d LOVE to see what you create using this digital stamp! Tag @unikoltd on Facebook and Instagram.

Or why not create a card and link up to our current Anything Goes Challenge with Optional Twist Love HERE or we have our 5th Birthday Linky Party HERE. There are FAB prizes to be won on both these posts 😉

Ok, that is all from me today but I will be back tomorrow with more Sneak Peeks to share and MORE!!

Hugs

NBUS #8 Theme Colour On Kraft

Hey!

I’ve a little card to share today, which happens to be perfect for Darnell’s NBUS #8 Challenge HERE. The lovely Darnell is celebrating 46 years of marriage AND 5 years of blogging, congratulations Darnell!

button aqua use this the

So to celebrate these momentous occasions Darnell has a trio of NBUS Challenges, each with a different optional theme. This week is Colouring on Kraft…

NBUS2017a

{CLICK Photo for larger view}

Though technically I haven’t coloured on Kraft card stock, I have used Papertrey Ink Soft Stone instead. I have used my Prismacolor pencils to colour in the image stamped on the rectangle die cut using my NBUS Rectangle dies from Crafters Companion.

The layout of my card was inspired by the current TIME OUT Challenges challenge HERE, which is to CASE with your own twist the lovely Ksenija from Sweet Kobylkin. Below is Ksenija’s card to CASE…

TO SweetKobylkin

Hopefully you will see that I reversed the card stock colours that Ksenija used on her card and instead of stamping an all over pattern on the base card I decided to use my MISTI and do this spotlight stamping technique.

NBUS2017b

{CLICK Photo for larger view}

I added a sentiment from Simply Said and a few tiny rhinestones to finish the card off. And, I actually got round to sending this card out too, something I am ‘trying’ much harder to do this year and mail out more of the cards I make 😉

That’s all I have to share with you today, I am hoping to find a little creative time tonight and maybe squeeze in another card for the challenge. I have plenty of NBUS to use 😉

Thanks for stopping by & BIG thanks to Darnell for hosting such an awesome challenge.

January 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy New Year!

It’s the 11th of the month, which means as it is not a release month (sorry, I promise it’ll be worth the wait till next month) the Design Team and I are here today with the usual Design Team Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY!

This month we have decided to dust off and revisit the previously released Beautiful Blooms I clear stamp set AND matching Designer Dies.

This clear stamp set was released way back in June 2013 but is still a firm favourite of mine and many 😉 The set also has a Pinterest page HERE, in which you can find lots of inspiration using it.

Here’s what I have created to share with you today…

2017UjanBH1

{Click to enlarge photo}

If you saw my CAS Colours & Sketches card HERE yesterday, you will have read me talking about the Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Mist and how I wanted to try a finer spray compared to the splatter effect I got on my first card. Well, I gave it a go with a Mini Mister.

2017UjanBH1a

{Click to enlarge photo}

Again, I foiled the mist with the Rose Gold foil. The layout of my card is inspired by the soon to be ending CAS(E) this Sketch! sketch seen HERE and below.

CTS_203

I used the MISTI to stamp the large die cut bloom and leaves. I wish that I had chosen a white card base to mount the foiled panel and bold black bloom. The beauty of hindsight and trying things before I adhere them permanently! Anyway, what is done is done and I need quite a few thank you cards to send post Christmas so I am sure I may make more 😉

I was hoping to have another card to share, but my mojo just wasn’t letting me. Every idea I had just wasn’t coming out right 🙁 I think tiredness had started to kick in, with all the early mornings with the beans and late nights working are starting to take their toll a little. Roll on Thursday afternoon for a few hours bean free 😉

Anyway, how about some more inspiration using this set AND don’t forget to comment along the Design Team blogs to be in the chance of winning BOTH the Beautiful Blooms I clear stamp set and the matching Designer Dies. Or a Gift Certificate to the same value if you already own them. You have until Midnight GMT Friday 20th january to get your comments in.

A Look Back At 2016!

Hey!

Welcome back to another ‘Look Back At 2016! This year has been an amazing year for myself personally, but it has been a fantastic year for Uniko. We have had 5 fabulous releases, with 16 new clear stamps sets lining the Uniko HQ shelves.

I don’t know about you, but to me this year has almost passed by in a blur! With that in mind I thought it would be nice now the main seasonal festivities are over and as 2016 draws to a close, to take a look back at Uniko’s 2016.

Apologies for the delay in posting and not posting yesterday, I had little sleep Wednesday night due to a Josh bean having nightmares, poor little fella. Then on Thursday I had to take Mr Cat to the vet and he had an operation to remove his eye as he had a large tumour in it. Another poor little fella that needed my attention and love post op last night.

Anyway, I am back today, I am taking a look back at the September/October 2016 Release and giving some fresh inky love to Originally OrganicMarvellous MehndiSimply Said IIWinter Foliage & Christmas Sparkle clear stamp sets.

First up a super CAS card using Originally Organic

I was inspired by the current challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges HERE, which is an inspired by words challenge.

‘With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning’

I thought the sentiment I chose was appropriate and related to the ‘new beginning’ part of the challenge phrase. I then decided to accent the sentiment with the leaf cluster and a trio of sunny yellow buds to represent the ‘sunrise’.

Next I dusted off Marvellous Mehndi

For this card I got my distress inks out and enjoyed some relaxing ink blending! The sentiment is a mix of ‘Happy’ from Simply Said Birthday, which is partially stamped and the ‘New Year’ is from Simply Said II.

Lastly, I switched gears back to Christmas and combined both Christmas Sparkle & Winter Foliage. Plus I really gave my new MISTI a workout on this card.

I love this multi card layer stamping and lining up the bauble was SO much easier using the MISTI! I was also able to stamp the bauble in Altenew Cosmic Berry ink and then stamp over it again in VersaMark to be able to heat emboss it with Crystal EP.

I hope you will join me again tomorrow, when I will be taking a look back at the 2016 November Release and the last of 2016. Until then, thank you for stopping by.

Today, I am taking a look back at the June 2016 Release and giving some fresh inky love to Paradise  and Paradise Leaves clear stamp sets.

First up a card using Paradise

A super quick and CAS card! I started by stamping the sentiment from the set and used my favourite of the Hibiscus flowers, stamped in Pink Grapefruit. The solid leaves from the set are stamped in Key Lime and the tiny trio of flowers in Persimmon. Hopefully in this next photo you can see the sparkle of the Clear Wink Of Stella I added to the flowers 🙂

For my Paradise Leaves card I used the same trio of colours, but also added in Turquoise Gem, Aquatic Splash and Sea Breeze.

The sentiment is from Originally Organic and another quick CAS card! It was lovely to play and think of warmer places, it has been SO cold here today and the frost we had overnight hardly lifted.

So, that’s a quick look back at the June 2016 Release, I hope I have given you a little inspiration to dust off these sets if you have them 😉

I hope you will join me again tomorrow, when I will be taking a look back at the 2016 September/October Release. Until then, thank you for stopping by.

Today, I am taking a look back at the April 2016 Release and giving some fresh inky love to Celebrate With Cake and Fun Flowers clear stamp sets.

First up I have a shaker card using Celebrate With Cake

I seem to have a ‘thing’ for shaker cards when I use this set 😉 I had some Stampin’ Up! Designer Paper on my desk, left over from my CAS Christmas cards HERE. I decided to put some more of it to good use, instead of sitting and admiring it!

I used my MISTI tool again to line up and stamp the top and bottom of the cupcake and used Copic Markers to colour it in. The sequins are a mix of Stampin’ Up! collections and the the ‘happy’ die cut is from the Hello You Thinlits Collection also from Stampin’ Up! which has a good smothering of Clear Wink Of Stella. I then used the Papertrey Ink Banner Die to stamp the birthday sentiment onto, which is from Simply Said.

Next, I was inspired by THIS card created by Jennifer McGuire to create my next card using Fun Flowers.

Again I put my MISTI tool to good use to stamp the layers of the flowers. I still require a little practice for the flower centres!

I used my Zig Clean Colour Brush pens to colour the flower which is fussy cut and adhered flat to the card. I love the vibrancy of the Zigs just used as a marker and I now have another thank you card to send 🙂
So, that’s a quick look back at the April 2016 Release, I hope I have given you a little inspiration to dust off these sets if you have them 😉 There is a small amount of 3 of the sets in stock on the website and I have planned some restocks to arrive in January.

I hope you will join me again tomorrow, when I will be taking a look back at the 2016 June Release. Until then, thank you for stopping by.
