Uniko Sponsors AAA Cards

Happy Weekend!

I hope your weekend has been lovely so far and you have had some creative time. If you need a little inspiration, why not join in on the new challenge over at AAA Cards.

This fortnight I am super happy to let you know that Uniko is the sponsor for the challenge. You could win an in stock clear stamp set (any value) from the Uniko website – how good does that sound?

The challenge this fortnight the challenge is ‘Made in Minutes’, with an optional twist of ‘Ink Blending’. You can find the challenge HERE and link up.

And here is what I have made in minutes, just over 7 to be exact & I’ve posted a photo of my timer too below!

The key to making a card in minutes is to have an idea of the layout you want to use, you need all the stamps, colours of ink and card cut to size and ready on your desk.

This is often the hardest part of card making, knowing what to use. I don’t know about you, but the more choice of supplies you have, the harder it is to know what to use or make!

When I find myself in a situation like this, I look at my stamps and see what I haven’t used or inked up for a while. Background Builders: Seeing Stars is a stamp set I’ve not inked up in a long time and I thought it would pair nicely with a sentiment from Birthday Sentiments.

Here is how long my card took me to make once I had everything figured out and ready to go…

I hope I have given you a little inspiration to join in on the fun over at AAA Cards. Until next time, thanks for stopping by & I look forward to seeing you in the AAA Cards Challenge Gallery!

25 Days of Christmas Tags Day 4 2019

Welcome to Day 4 of 2019’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Uniko is super excited to be a part of this wonderful festive event organised by Tracey McNeely from In My Creative Opinion. If this is your first year joining in and finding out about the fun you can read all about it HERE.

How about some inspiration from myself and the Uniko Brand Ambassadors and be sure to checkout Tracey’s Blog HERE for more inspiration from the 25 Days of Christmas Tags team.

I seem to have a yearly theme when it comes to creating a tag for this event and unintentionally reach for the same but ever popular Uniko clear stamp set, Winter Foliage!

I do have a good reason though this year, as I recently released coordinating Designer Dies for this stamp set and I have been really enjoying using them!
I'd planned on having more tags made to share with you, but the flu at the weekend put a stop to that and I have spent most of the week in-between looking after The Beans resting and recuperating in bed!

Fear not though as I have my awesome Brand Ambassadors joining me today and they have FABulous tags to share with you too. Be sure to stop by each of their blogs (link below the photo of their tags) and leave a comment. I will select a lucky comment to win another prize separate from the Uniko Sponsor prize for the event!

Less Is More Sponsor & Guest Designer

Happy Weekend!

I’m super excited to be here this morning, not only because Uniko is Octobers sponsor over at Less is More and that I am guest designing with them this week. BUT also because the Uniko October Release is NOW LIVE in store and available to purchase!

If you want to check out the cards I have made & shared yesterday about the October Release, pop on over HERE! I also couldn’t resist showing how one of the products being released, Festive Sentiments Outlined, can be used all year round…

BevLIMgdOct19b

This fortnight the challenge is Rainbow. Who doesn’t LOVE a rainbow?! There are so many ways to interpret this challenge onto your card (don’t forget to keep it CAS) and I opted for a rainbow colour scheme.

406 ColourRainbow

Rainbows make me happy, all those colours in one place is just a delight to see! As they make me happy I thought it appropriate to use the HAPPY sentiment from Festive Sentiments Outlined. I used my MISTI to stamp this three times on my card, coloured the inside of the word with Copics in a rainbow colour scheme and finished with the birthday sentiment from Birthday Sentiments clear stamp set.

BevLIMgdOct19c

This wasn’t enough rainbow for me! So I set to thinking how I could keep the design CAS but add more rainbow colour. Ta-dah! A rainbow base card. I used my blender brushes to create a rainbow base card using a variety of Altenew ink colours. I adhered the stamped layer to it using foam adhesive for a little dimension and I was done. A CAS card with lots of colour!

That’s all the rainbow I had time for, but the Less is More team have lots more inspiration for you. Be sure to head on over HERE to see the rainbow delight awaiting you and all the challenge details and the link up for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you check out the New Release too 😉

2019 National Coffee Day Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

*Editied to Add the Uniko Giveaway Winner….

Cindy Marshall

Oh I love all the cards. Everyone did an amazing job! I love coffee and I love fall. Thank you for being a sponsor and Happy National Coffee Day!

Congratulations Cindy!

Welcome to the 2019 National Coffee Day Blog Hop!

I am delighted to know such wonderful and inviting friends in the industry and to be a part of so many fun events that take place. Amy Tsuruta is one of the co-founders of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog and organises many fun blog hops throughout the year and invited Uniko to be part of this fun event.

If you’ve followed or been part of the previous Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hops, todays hop is a little different and will run as a traditional hop rather than a linkup.

67709156_10220337689982946_2631241761762050048_o

So be sure to head on over HERE to the beginning of the hop 🙂

Today some of the Uniko Brand Ambassadors have joined me in sharing some coffee themed makes and so we have a mini Uniko hop contained inside this larger hop – FUN right? And as always I have a little prize for ONE lucky commenter who leaves a comment on any of the participating Uniko Brand Ambassador blog posts links and more details at the end!

First I have a card to share with you…

NCDhop1

Autumn is in full swing now here in the UK and the colours totally inspired my card today. I chose 5 Altenew ink colour, Espresso, Mocha, Autumn Blaze, Orange and Sun Kissed to ink up the Background Blocks Nautical Stripes stamp. To me this stamp represents a warm cozy sweater!

NCDhop1b

I then stamped some of the images from Uniko’s I LOVE Coffee clear stamp set and arranged them on the card. Having the stamped background block makes for a really quick card 😉

NCDhop1a

And here’s some inspiration from some of the Uniko Brand Ambassadors, be sure to hop over to their blogs and comment for your chance to win the Uniko prize…

Uniko Sponsors “Less is More”

Happy Weekend!

I hope your weekend has begun well and you have some creative time planned 🙂 If you need a little inspiration, why not join in on the new challenge over at “Less is More”.

This fortnight I am super happy to let you know that Uniko is the sponsor for the challenge. You could win an in stock clear stamp set (any value) from the Uniko website – how good does that sound?

The challenge this fortnight is a colour challenge seen HERE and below. A lovely soft colour palette of Duck Egg Blue, Plum & White.

image1

And here’s how I used the colours…

LIM#397

For my card I used the Large Background French Script. In hindsight, even though I’ve stamped it in Altenew Sea Glass ink (my closest match to a Duck Egg Blue), which is a really light and soft blue, I wished I hadn’t inked the stamp for a complete solid stamp as overall my card isn’t as ‘CAS’ as I would have liked!

To keep the design more ‘CAS’ with more open white space I should have applied the ink in a more haphazard way, to achieve a rustic/faded look.

LIM#397b

For the floral/foliage silhouette I used the main image from Just Because clear stamp set. I used Altenew Deep Iris for the plum colour in the challenge. I’ve stamped the image 3 times, varying the angle and how much of the stamp would be visible to create a panel of the design along the left hand side.

My chosen sentiment is With Sympathy from Simply Said Blocks II, as sadly I need a few sympathy cards to send out. The stamps I have used and the colour palette works beautifully for this theme of card.

Okay, that’s all I have to share with you just now. Myself & the Uniko DT will be back later this morning for this months Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Until then, thanks for stopping by & I look forward to seeing you in the LIM Challenge Gallery!

FUN Background Blocks Inspiration

Hey & Happy Monday!

I hope your week has started well. Like those in the USA, we have a holiday Monday here in the UK and typically it has been a pretty wet and windy day. Though perfect for lazy days snuggling on the sofa watching Pixar movies! It’s still quite a novelty here as The Beans are now interested and have the concentration to watch a movie that isn’t Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3 or Cars!

Anyway, I’m here this evening to share a trio of cards I have made recently using Background Blocks and the fun you can have with them and also how they can be used to make quick clean and simple cards.

BBinspiration1

First I have this Zentangle inspired card using Background Blocks Wonky Stripes. Okay, so this card isn’t my usual CAS style as it has lots of added detail, but it did only use minimal supplies.

My card was inspired by one that popped up on my Instagram feed a while ago HERE. Amber has used a stencil & added Zentangle designs in-between the ink blended stripes.

BBinspiration1a

For this card I stamped the Background Blocks Wonky Stripes in VersaFine Onyx Black ink. After the ink was dry I used a black fine line pen to add Zentagle patterns inside each of the stripes. It seemed fitting to add a Birthday Sentiment from Simply Said Blocks as Uniko is celebrating with & sponsoring this fortnights challenge over HERE at AAA Cards.

5th birthday banner

AAA Cards is celebrating their 5th Birthday & have a FUN birthday challenge, along with LOTS of other ways to win prizes from sponsors, including Uniko 🙂

For my next card I was inspired to use Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots

BBinspiration2

Like all of the background blocks, the scattered polka dots is a fun design to stamp in an ombre effect. Here I have used my recent purchase of the Altenew Gentleman’s Grey collection of inks. I used my MISTI stamping tool and simply inked up each colour starting from the top with the lightest shade, down to the bottom with the darkest shade.

BBinspiration2a

I decided to embellish the polka dot background with the largest bloom from Kindess Blooms stamped, coloured with Copic markers & fussy cut. I adhered it to my card base using foam adhesive and finished the card with the thank you sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II and some Liquid Mercury Nuvo Drops.

Lastly, I decided to give Background Blocks Horizontal Stripe some inky love…

BBinspiration3

For this card I gave my newly acquired Catherine Pooler inks a test run! I used Suede Shoes for the horizontal stripes and Coral Cabana and Samba for the Wonderful Day flowers. The leaves, also from Wonderful Day are stamped in Grass Skirt.

BBinspiration3a

I’ve used WOW Opaque White EP for the flower details and some Gloss White Nuvo drops for the flower centres. The sentiment is also from Wonderful Day stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black.

I hope these cards have given you some inspiration as to how to use the Background Block stamps 🙂 I’d love to see what you create!

That’s all from me today, but I hope to find some creative time for more projects I have in my head that need to make it onto a card 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs

“Less is More” Birthday Challenge Guest Designer

Hello & Happy Weekend!

I am here bright and early this morning to tell you that Uniko is super happy and proud to be sponsoring “Less is More” again. This month they are also celebrating their 8th Birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY “Less is More”!

cue card 8th birthday

This fortnight the theme is…

388 Colour Navy Yellow

As you may be aware, February is also Uniko’s Birthday month and we have an upcoming release (Feb 11th) too! I’ve had my hands on the release goodies for a few weeks now and I can’t stop playing with them 😉

I couldn’t resist using one of the NEW products on my card…

UnikoLIMguest

This is a HUGE peek at a NEW clear stamp set & coordinating Designer Die collection, that we will officially be introducing on 6th February & will be available to purchase on 11th February 9pm GMT.

UnikoLIMguest1

Those who know Uniko products well, will know that this is the next in the BIG & BOLD series, BIG & BOLD Happy! Honestly, you won’t believe the fun I have had with the dies alone 😉

However, on my card today for “Less is More” I have combined both the stamps and just one of the dies in the collection. I used Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy and So Saffron for my colours to match the theme of Navy & Yellow. I thought some nice colour blocking was a good idea and also created a more masculine style card.

Here is one more view…

UnikoLIMguest2

Okay, that is all from me over here today, BUT be sure to check out a HUGE announcement over HERE at 9am AND be sure to head on over to the “Less is More” blog HERE and join in on the fun.

Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop!

Hey & welcome to the next stop on the…

Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop

I am delighted to be a part of this wonderful hop organised by the lovely Milka Gubo from Crafty Milka. January is Thyroid Awareness Month. 26 designers from all over the World joined together in this special blog hop which will last from January 5th until January 30th.

The aim of the hop is to support Thyroid Awareness Month and to raise public awareness of the importance of a Thyroid Gland and problems it can cause when not working properly.

We will be sharing our handmade projects featuring butterfly, butterflies and/or blue paisley pattern. Thyroid looks like butterfly and blue paisley patterned ribbon is a new symbol of Thyroid Awareness month, so it was our choice to incorporate these elements in our handmade projects.

46469299_10215769904453095_1090880006231425024_n

I felt this was a blog hop I really wanted to be part of for many reasons. Firstly I was a registered nurse for over 10 years. When I moved to the North East of the UK, I began a new path of looking after surgical patients and one of the surgical patients I looked after were those who had had Thyroid Surgery. I won’t go into detail, but they were a high level observation patient post operation, with many complications to look out for.

My second reason for wanting to take part is because a few of my close friends suffer from thyroid problems. This hop is just a small way of raising awareness and showing a little bit of love to those affected by it.

Here is the card I made to share with you all…

ThyroidBH

I decided to incorporate both the Paisley Pattern and the Butterfly elements, using Uniko’s Marvellous Mehndi and English Country Garden Butterflies clear stamps.

ThyroidBHa

The layout of my card is from the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge seen HERE and below. The sketch made it easy for me to combine all the colours and elements – love it when this happens!

I used Altenew inks for my shades of blue a the card stock is the new Stampin’ Up! In Colour Blueberry Bushel. I also used Stampin’ Up! Stitched Framelits dies to die cut the 2 sizes of squares.

ThyroidBHb

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you with my card. Be sure that you catch up on all the blog hop stops (if you haven’t already) that are listed at the end of this post.

Before I go I have a little GIVEAWAY…

Simply leave a comment on this blog post & I will choose a randomly selected winner to receive a £30 Uniko Prize Package! Winner will be announced the 10th February to give you plenty of time to share this giveaway with your crafty friends 😉
