Introducing… Background Blocks Linear

Hello & Happy Tuesday,

Welcome to Day 1 of the January 2023 Release Introductions.

The first product we are introducing is Background Blocks Linear. I am always excited to add to the Background Blocks series, I think these happy blocks of pattern are so versatile and are sized just right to be an instant focal point on a card design.

As usual the Brand Ambassadors have worked their creative magic with the stamp, so be sure to check out the hop over HERE.

I have two cards today using this stamp, but don’t worry, you will be seeing a lot more of it over the coming days and weeks! It has a lot of potential.

For my first card I went super simple. I wanted to show the impact this single stamp has on its own with just a sentiment to accompany it.

“I like how this has a Piet Mondrian look to it. I stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and coloured a selection of the blocks with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks.

For my next card I went for a partial all over print with a spotlight twist by letting the pattern fall onto my base card colour.

I paired the design with a flower built using Mid Century Modern Florals and again the sentiment from Simply Said Blocks. I love the pop of orange added into the mix, I think it captures your attention, before your eyes cascade down to the pattern.

That’s all I have to share today using this stamp, but as I said at the beginning, you will see lots more!

All the products being introduced today and over the next few days will be available 10am GMT Friday 13th January 2023.

October 2018 Release Sneak Peeks!

Woohoo!

It’s time for another NEW release and to share some official sneak peeks with you! If you follow @unikoltd on Instagram, you might have seen a few peeks I have been sharing here and there 😉
This month I have 4 NEW clear stamp sets, 2 re-release clear stamp sets AND 3 stencil designs! They will all be available to purchase at a NEW release trial time of 9pm GMT Tuesday 30th October.
Anyway, I will remind you of that as we progress through the release festivities. How about I share some peeks with you…

Firstly, here are the 2 peeks of the clear stamp sets coming back from retirement. Those who have been followers and customers of Uniko for a few years might recognise these.

Next we have peeks at the 4 new clear stamp sets…

And lastly, but by no means least the 3 new stencil designs…

As you can see it is a pretty BIG release and I can’t wait to share projects and ideas using them all 🙂

My awesome Design Team are going to help me do this too and we will be back tomorrow with the start of our traditional product introductions.

I hope you will join us at 9am tomorrow and I would LOVE to know what you think of the sneak peeks.

Thanks for stopping by!

Uniko Challenge #49 – Wonderful World with Optional Twist THANKS

Hey!

The current Uniko Challenge is in full swing and today The Design Team and Guest Designer are here to remind you that there is still time to join in on the fun.

We have another fun and easy challenge at the moment and we hope the Wonderful World around us will inspire you to play along. If you’d like even more of a challenge then please twist with us and create a card to say THANKS.

Challenge Guidelines:

* You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products. Plus, there is an extra chance to win a prize if you do 😉

* Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!

* Share the challenge graphic in your post and link back to the challenge if possible 😉

We have the very talented Hannelie joining us again as our Guest Designer for this challenge. Her card is an absolute delight and so very creative. It’s sure to inspire you to play along.

And here’s what I made a while back but never shared…

I made this for the last Uniko Stamping Retreat back in the Summer. The technique station was all about playing with Brusho’s and I created this fun background using the Natures Treasures II Mask.

US#48d

I’d normal avoid all this messy, as I like clean and simple! However, sometimes messy can be kept clean & simple by not adding too much fuss and layers to a design. I have done this by letting the leaves & ink take the limelight and just added a simple sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.

That’s all I have to inspire you, but some of The Design Team have more inspiration to share with you…

Now, if you need more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes.

THE PRIZES

  • Random Twist Winner – £4 In Stock Clear Stamp Set of Winners Choosing

One Layer Stencil Fun!

Hey & Happy Monday!

I do hope your week has begun well? Mine started well, but then took an unplanned turn when Bean no.2 came out in the chicken pox spots. Second time round and it still surprised me as to how suddenly and quickly they begin to appear from nowhere! Luckily my in laws are back from their holiday this week and were able to help look after him while I took Bean no.1 to nursery. It still meant little time for work and what not, but it meant that we were not all stuck inside again.

I am happy that yesterday I managed to make a couple of cards, the first of which I am sharing today…

UnikoOLstencil1

I still had my Fun Flowers Stencil out on my desk from when I made my cards for the Uniko March 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway HERE. And I had been wanting to join in on the current “Less is More” one layer challenge HERE, which is to use stencils, perfect combo!

367 Stencils

I needed a little more of a mojo boost and mooched around my ‘go to’ challenges for a colour combo and thought the Color Throwdown challenge HERE looked fun, so gave it a whirl too!

swatch485

Plus to mix it up a little and as 3 is my favourite number I decided to join in on the AAA cards challenge fun HERE too, which is to use 1/3 of your card.

#111

With all that I managed to keep it all clean & simple! I used Altenew Rouge ink as my closest match to a peach colour, applied it through my Fun Flowers Stencil which I kept to the lower third of my one layer card. Then added the Simply Said Blocks happy birthday sentiment.

UnikoOLstencil1a

Ok, that’s all from me today. I think it’ll be another early night for this mummy after the Spring forward with the clocks and a poorly bean, it could be a night of little sleep, fingers crossed it isn’t! Until later in the week, thanks for stopping by today 🙂

Ultraviolet Succulents!

Hey!

Well, it looks like I tempted fate a little bit with saying how well I was doing with making a card and blogging every other day! It’s been quite a few days since I posted and mainly because I was hit with a chesty cold again, zero energy and two CRAZY beans back at nursery and ‘structured’ routine.

Anyway, I am back today with a card I’ve been making for a few days and finally finished today.

UVhappysucculents

I was inspired by a couple of challenges when starting this card. Firstly the current challenge over at “Less is More” seen HERE and below. This fortnight their challenge is a colour challenge and they want to see purples. Which fits in wonderfully with Pantone’s colour of the year, Ultraviolet!

362 Purples

I have to say I am rather enjoying this years Pantone colour and it suits so many different styles and themes. I decided to use Happy Succulents as it was one of the Top 5 popular clear stamp sets in 2017 and I feel I didn’t give it as much love as it should have had 😉

The second challenge I was inspired by was the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below. I really like the clean lines and open space of the sketch, which lent itself wonderfully to using the large succulent cluster.

FMS Final 319-001

I used my trusty Prismacolor pencils to colour the succulents and I have to say it was very therapeutic colouring in and I did a little reverse dark to light shading on the succulent too, which I think has turned out pretty good!

UVhappysucculents1a

The sentiment is from my current ‘go to’ set, Simply Said Blocks and both the succulent cluster and sentiment block are fussy cut and adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

UVhappysucculents1b

That’s all I have to share for today, I had best be off as The Beans are due home any moment from Grandma & Grandad’s house fingers crossed they’ll have fallen asleep on the way! I’ll be back again before the week is over with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by.

BIG Thanks!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

The Beans have made it through their first full week of afternoons at school nursery – yay! They both have settled in really well and I have had no tears or tantrums leaving them 🙂 With that I have been settling into my new routine and realising how quick the time goes whilst they are there!

Amongst the chaos of prepping for the October Release, Happy Stampers Festival, Stamp Magic paper craft show, a HUGE restock delivery and flurry of lovely orders (thank you), I managed to squeeze in a little time to stamp!

BIGthanks{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I required another thank you card and with the recent restocks, which included All Occasion Sentiments #6, I was inspired to dust off my set and ink it up. I still had my September Release stamps to hand and decided to pair the BIG thanks with Background Builders: Seeing Stars and the ‘You Rock’ sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.

Using the BIG thanks is perfect for me to join in on one of my many favourite card challenges this week, CASology. This week the cue card HERE is BIG!

Week 267 - Big

I used my favourite trio of colours to stamp the panel of stars and used a black strip of card slightly bigger to mat it with. The BIG thanks is stamped and simply flat coloured with Copic markers and a good layer of clear Wink of Stella applied.

BIGthanks1

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I added foam adhesive to the thanks panel and also the ‘You Rock’ sentiment and added a few Stampin’ Up! star enamels to finish the design. Hopefully this card will reach it’s destination in a few days. It feels good to be finally sending out more of the cards I make 🙂

That’s all from me today, I hope to squeeze in some more creative time this weekend along with other exciting tasks like planning NEW Uniko Classes! I am super excited to have ‘found’ the perfect venue to hold them here in Stockton-On-Tees in the North East of the UK and I am now working on the finer details. So as soon as I have, I will be letting you all know!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hugs

How about some inspiration from me…

With restocks arriving in the studio this week and because I saw this jaw dropping creation by Hannelie HERE using Beautiful Blooms III, I was inspired to dust my set off and give it some fresh inky love!

I used my Altenew inks for all my stamping and I can’t wait to get my hands on some more at Happy Stampers Festival (hopefully)! They really do ink nicely AND they take the hard work out of matching shades for layered stamping.

I’ve added some dimension with the flowers using two depths of foam adhesive and added some clear Wink Of Stella to just the detail on the blooms. The sentiment is from the recently released Simply Said Blocks and I added some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops.

So are you all fired up and ready to get crafting?

Well, just in case you need some more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes.  I have changed the length and frequency of the challenge. The challenges are FIVE weeks long, giving us a total of SIX challenges this year.

THE PRIZES

  • Main Winner Chosen By the DT – £25 eGift Certificate
  • Random Twist Winner – £4 In Stock Clear Stamp Set of Winners Choosing
  • Random Uniko Stamps Winner – £4 In Stock Clear Stamp Set of Winners Choosing

You’ve got plenty of time to play along with this month’s challenge. The deadline for submission is midnight (GMT) on Friday 27th October 2017 (7.00pm EDT).

Introducing… Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots and Simply Said Blocks

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the September product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 5 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

Today, myself and my AWESOME Design Team are introducing TWO clear stamp sets, Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots and Simply Said Blocks. These two sets have so many fun possibilities and can be used and paired with all sorts of stamps and paper crafting goodies.
Hopefully you should have arrived here from the Uniko Blogspot Blog HERE, if not be sure to start there and see my first couple of introduction cards 😉
First up a card using Simply Said Blocks, paired with Uniko Style. Again I have another rainbow card, perfect for the current challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges HERE. Uniko is the sponsor for the challenge AND I am your CASE muse too 😉
IntroSSBlocks2
{Click Photo For a Closer Look}
I used the ‘blank’ block and my MISTI tool to stamp the striped BG using my 3 favourite colours and two shades from my Altenew ink collection.
IntroSSBlocks2a
{Click Photo For a Closer Look}
The ‘Thanks’ sentiment also from the set is stamped in black, fussy cut out and mounted onto the card using foam adhesive. I added a few of my favourite SU! Enamel Dots too 😉
Next I had to have another go at the multicoloured polka dot background, but this time I used a softer colour palette and paired the background with Celebrate With Cake.
IntroBBScatteredPD3
{Click Photo For a Closer Look}
Again I used my MISTI tool and a Stampin’ Up! In Colour collection of markers to individually and randomly colour the dots. It’s a little time consuming (though therapeutic if you like colouring), but totally worth the result! After colouring the dots and before stamping, be sure to ‘huff’ over the stamp to moisten the ink.

Hopefully you can see the dimension of the die cut polka dot background and cupcake, along with the sparkly frosting – yum!
That’s all from me today using these sets and I hope I have inspired you?! If not, be sure to hop along all the Design Team blogs and leave a comment along the way, as you never know you might just win a random prize! I know for sure that you won’t be disappointed the Design Team have created a bountiful wealth of inspiration 🙂
