NBUS Challenge #12 and a BIG peek at something NEW!

Hey!

I can’t believe it’s day 9 of Darnell’s NBUS #12 Challenge and I am only ‘just’ finding some time to play along πŸ™ Good new is I have an extra day to play along as it’s now on for 11 days!

Anyway, here’s what I’ve made using some NBUS…

So, I’ve had a trio of the Distress Oxide inks (Worn Lipstick, Broken China & Cracked Pistachio) for quite a while now and I’ve not really had chance to ‘play’ with them and experiment with blending them. That was until last week when I received a newly design Uniko product to test, Uniko Stencils!! This got me all inspired to test drive the inks with this new stencil πŸ™‚

Yep, you are getting the first real look at ‘one’ of the new stencil designs being released this month! With the popularity of the recently released Background Blocks: Scattered Polka Dots clear stamp, I decided to do a larger version as a 6×6″ stencil.

And, just look at those inks on kraft card stock? They are so vibrant and I don’t know if it is just me, but they blend SO much easier than the regular distress inks?!

The layout of my card is from the current AAA Cards challenge HERE, which this fortnight is a sketch, seen below. My stencilled panel was perfect to split into 2 and I simply added a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.

Ok, that’s all from me today. I have a list as long as my arm of housework and jobs to be done before I head across to Happy Stampers Festival this Saturday! I am sure there is still time to grab a ticket HERE as they’re not available to purchase on the door and must be bought prior to the show.

I am looking forward to the show & if you’re attending please drop by the stand and say ‘Hello’!

NBUS #8 Theme Colour On Kraft

Hey!

I’ve a little card to share today, which happens to be perfect for Darnell’s NBUS #8 Challenge HERE. The lovely Darnell is celebrating 46 years of marriage AND 5 years of blogging, congratulations Darnell!

So to celebrate these momentous occasions Darnell has a trio of NBUS Challenges, each with a different optional theme. This week is Colouring on Kraft…

Though technically I haven’t coloured on Kraft card stock, I have used Papertrey Ink Soft Stone instead. I have used my Prismacolor pencils to colour in the image stamped on the rectangle die cut using my NBUS Rectangle dies from Crafters Companion.

The layout of my card was inspired by the current TIME OUT Challenges challenge HERE, which is to CASE with your own twist the lovely Ksenija from Sweet Kobylkin. Below is Ksenija’s card to CASE…

TO SweetKobylkin

Hopefully you will see that I reversed the card stock colours that Ksenija used on her card and instead of stamping an all over pattern on the base card I decided to use my MISTI and do this spotlight stamping technique.

I added a sentiment from Simply Said and a few tiny rhinestones to finish the card off. And, I actually got round to sending this card out too, something I am ‘trying’ much harder to do this year and mail out more of the cards I make πŸ˜‰

That’s all I have to share with you today, I am hoping to find a little creative time tonight and maybe squeeze in another card for the challenge. I have plenty of NBUS to use πŸ˜‰

Thanks for stopping by & BIG thanks to Darnell for hosting such an awesome challenge.
