Uniko Challenge #48 – Inspired By a Quote with Optional Twist

Hey!

Apologies for the long absence in blogging over here on the website blog šŸ™ Ā After all the paper crafting shows in May & June, the releases and life in general, I think I burnt myself out a little and lost my mojo. Life with The Beans got a little hectic too and then the Summer Holidays began & they finished their first year at nursery!

Anyway, enough of that!

I am here to tell you about the current Uniko Challenge HEREJuly-2

This month we have chosen an inspirational quote, “It’s so much more friendly with two”. A.A. Milne, with an optional twist of making a card for a child.

From the initial outlook it seems quite challenging, but with a little thinking and picking out words in the quote like ‘two’ or ‘friendly’ there are more inspirational possibilities. Here is how I was inspired…

The words ‘two’ and ‘friendly’ finally jumped out at me and inspired Ā me to make this card! With Background Blocks Wonky Stripes coming back in stock recently, it inspired me to ink mine up.

When my mojo is running low I have a ‘go to’ colour combo, and so I turned to that for this card. I think the wonky stripes look FAB in this combo and the added duo of loopy blooms from Kindness Blooms are the perfect touch.

I used Copic Markers to colour the wonky stripes in after stamping & heat embossing them. I added Nuvo Drops in Dandelion Yellow to the bloom centres and a ‘Hello Friend’ sentiment from Simply Said.

That’s all from me, but be sure to check out Trina’s blog My Crafting Closet,Ā HERE and HERE. Trina is our wonderful Guest Designer for this challenge and has created beautiful cards to inspire you, as has the Uniko Design Team šŸ™‚ All the details and link up for the challenge can be found HERE.

I will be back later this week with more to share, as we start the countdown to the August Release – woohoo! Until then, thank you for stopping by & hanging on in there with me šŸ™‚

This is what I came up with to ‘hopefully’ inspire you…

I used a couple of challenges to kick start my creativity, I’ve been busy in the studio finalising some new stamps and dies coming soon and in the next couple of months. Hence the lack of posts and my mojo has taken a hit too šŸ˜‰

Anyway, I decided to turn to one of my favourite sketch challenges Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below. I decided to switch up the circle to a square as it suited the size of the stamps I was using.

I chose a ‘rainbow’ colour scheme as Uniko is the proud sponsor of the current TIME OUT Challenges challenge this fortnight HERE. This fortnight it is a ‘Inspired by Words’ challenge…

‘When it rains look for rainbows, when its dark look for stars’

Hopefully you can tell that I focused on the rainbow part of the words! I used Originally Organic Additions for the flowers and the stem, the sentiment is from Some Bunny.

That’s all I had time to create last night, but the Uniko Design team also have some Spring inspiration to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too šŸ˜‰
