Back In Action!

Hey!

Apologies for being absent for such a long time, my mojo seemed to have a min break and Oh my, what a busy couple of weeks! We are now settling back into our ‘normal’ routine after Easter Break. Thankfully today has worn the beans out and they were flat out in five minutes of going to bed – whooohooo!

That meant I had a little ‘extra’ time to sit, create and get my mojo back into action to create a card to share with you…

Uniko Style, which I’ve used on the card is finally back in stock – YAY!¬†Background Blocks Halftone, Decorative Doilies The Hands of Time, Flower Power #3 AND Natures Treasures II are also back in stock – YAY! Plus I have more restocks arriving early next week too AND I’ve the May Release to play with this week too ūüėČ keep your eyes peeled for some sneaky sneak peeks!

Anyway, back to my card. I’ve used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below as a jumping point and used my ‘go to’ Altenew ink colours as they are so good for layering and take away the hard thinking work!

The sentiment is from Simply Said and I added a few Stampin’ Up! enamel dots to embellish. The sentiment strip is raised on foam pads and these are Stix2 Anything and they come in a hand 1mm thickness which I have used as well as the standard 2mm thickness.

Ok, that’s all I have to share with you all tonight, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, why not check out the Design Team Inspiration Rahmat is sharing over HERE, you’re sure to be inspired :)

Block Party Birthday Fusion!

Hey & Happy Sunday!

Yesterday evening the beans went for their second sleepover at their Grandparents, so in true fashion I indulged in some much needed creative time in the studio! It feels like ages since I was able to just sit & play, choosing a challenge to join in on and selecting whatever stamps and supplies I fancied using.

I saw the new Fusion Card Challenge HERE and seen below and I was inspired to pull out the recently release Blocky Party Birthday clear stamp.

Fusion Paris

I’ve also recently had a Stampin’ Up! order delivered, which contained much needed card stock in Smokey Slate, Basic Grey and Black all of which feature in the inspiration photo. So this is how I combined everything onto my card…

UnikoFusion1

{Click Photo to Enlarge}

It is a *really* simple card and didn’t take long at all to make. I started out by stamping the block party stamp in VersaFine Onyx Black ink onto Smokey Slate CS using my MISTI tool, so I could repeat stamp to get a good image.

UnikoFusion1a

{Click Photo to Enlarge}

I then used 4 Prismacolour Pencils to selectively colour the image and I tried to replicate the watery ombre effect on the ‘birthday’ part of the stamp. I am pretty pleased how the card turned out and I think it represents both parts of the Fusion Card Challenge nicely.

That’s all from me today, but if you want some more creative inspiration , be sure to head on over HERE when Lindsey has some wonderful one layer CAS masculine inspiration to share with you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Introducing… Uniko Style

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are almost over, we’ve only todays product to introduce, which means tomorrow is release day!

Yesterday the Design Team and I introduced Explosion! Additions. If you missed it and the previous products on Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday you can catch up HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

Today we are back to introduce you to Uniko Style. Now, those of you who know me and my love for Marimekko and the origin of Uniko then this set will be no surprise to you. Those who have requested it I introduce…Uniko Style, a Scandinavian inspired floral building set and I am in LOVE! I really got to sit and ‘play’ with this set properly yesterday and it is better than I imagined it to be ūüėČ

IntroUnikoStyle2{CLICK Photo for a larger view}

This first card was inspired by the current Freshly Made Sketch layout seen HERE and below. I had used it on yesterdays card HERE and whilst making that this idea came to me. The set contains a small stamp which can be repeatedly stamped in the round to create a dandelion design. I have done this down the right hand side of my base card in Lawn Fawn Manatee ink.

FMS Final 276-001

However, I didn’t want the overall design to be too busy, so instead of repeating the stamped design on the left hand side, I decided to add a strip of Papertrey Ink Soft Stone card. The Uniko Style flower is stamped in Altenew ink and the sentiment is from Originally Organic Additions.

My last card for today is inspired by the new CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below.

And this is the result…

It was quite a time consuming design to stamp using my MISTI, but WOW, the results were even better than I could have imagined ūüėČ

Introducing… Originally Organic Additions

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are well underway. Yesterday the Design Team and I introduced Block Party Birthday. If you missed it you can catch up¬†HERE.

Today, we are back with the introduction of Originally Organic Additions РYAY! Originally Organic was introduced back in Sept/Oct last year HERE and I also had a feature and digital stamp collection in Simply Cards & Papercrafts HERE.

As both the clear stamps and digital stamps were so popular I decided to turn a few of the digital stamps into physical ones. Plus both sets can be mixed to create more possibilities, which I am sure you will see over the coming days/weeks ūüėČ

Today I have focused on two of the smaller stamps in the set to create my own simple stamped background.

IntroOOadditions1

{CLICK Photo for a Larger View}

I’ve used another of the sentiments from the new set, again they are friendship and encouragement themed and have the same font mix that appears to be very popular.

I had a little trip out with the beans and a couple of crafty friends yesterday afternoon to the local Crafters Companion store. They have a lovely cafe too! So after a quick look round we sat, ate and decided what out purchases would be ūüėČ

Anyway, I chose to try some lovely Lawn Fawn inks. The small outline flower and flower stem, which are two separate stamps are stamped in Manatee ink, a lovely soft grey. I was really pleased to discover that these inks withhold alcohol marker bleeding, so I coloured parts of the flower in with 3 different markers.

Introducing… Block Party Birthday

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the February & 5th Birthday product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 5 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

Today starting over HERE we are introducing a new to Uniko style of stamp called Block Party. The first stamp in this series is appropriately named Block Party Birthday.
I was having a ball with this stamp set over the weekend and made a few cards to share with you. I seem to have gone down more of a masculine route too with the colours and styles. This stamp also lent itself to me stepping away from my usual CAS style for more of a mix media styled cards…
IntroBPbirthday3

{CLICK Photo for a Closer Look}

First up I decided to go for a chalkboard effect (looks like I wasn’t the only one). I started by stamping the image twice (using the MISTI tool) with VersaMark ink. I then heat embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer Detail True White EP. I then ran my white ink pad down all four sides of the one layer card and I also brushed some white ink across the panel to achieve a dustier/slightly distress look.

IntroBPbirthday3a

{CLICK Photo for a Closer Look}

Next I was inspired by DT member Deborah’s inspiration post HERE and FINALLY dusted off my Brusho’s! These have been stored away for over 6 years, I last used them at Uni! Anyway, this is the result…

IntroBPbirthday2

{CLICK Photo for a Closer Look}

I started with an A5 piece of watercolour card and I used a large brush to cover the paper with water. I then chose a selection of Brusho colours, Lime Green, Ost. Blue, Crimson and Violet and using a smaller brush I simply lightly flicked the colour onto the paper and let the water work the magic. After I added all the colours I did go back a flick some more water randomly to make some of the colours mix better.

IntroBPbirthday2a

{CLICK Photo for a Closer Look}

After leaving it to completely dry I again used my MISTI to stamp the image in VersaFine Onyx Black ink a few times to get a crisp image. I am super pleased with how this turned out and will definitely be using them again soon ūüėČ

Lastly I decided to go for another rainbow card…

IntroBPbirthday4

{CLICK Photo for a Closer Look}

For this one I dusted off my Mini Distress Inks and simply inked the stamp up yellow to turquoise and letting the colours overlap. So quick, easy and a multitude of colour options!

Happy Birthday Mum

Hey!

Here we are at the beginning of another week, I really don’t know where these days and weeks are going! This past weekend seemed to fly by even though I spent another long 24hrs in bed from Friday evening until Saturday evening suffering from yet another stomach sickness bug :( The beans were ill on Thursday with it and luckily we are all over it now, fingers crossed it stays away!

Anyway, I did find a little creative energy last night to create a birthday card. This is for my mum and in remembrance of my mum who passed away suddenly in April 2008.

HBmum

{Click Photo for a Closer View}

My mum would have been 69 years old today and as I have always done I made a card to celebrate her life. She taught me so much and showed me so much love during the time we had together and is truly missed. Like most mums she liked flowers and Chrysanthemums were one of her favourites.

I decided to have a little ‘play’ along with the current challenge over at ColourQ HERE and seen below. The colours were perfect for me to use Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum.

cqc368

I kept my card pretty simple, masking and stamping the smallest outline flower and leaf inside a circle die cut onto a white CS base layer, I then over-stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink. The circle die cut panel is adhered to the card using foam adhesive and I finished the card off with a trio of enamel dots.

This is what I was inspired to make…

This is my first card of a trio I made for the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge HERE. I talked about my creative woes HERE. This week is colour week at CC&S and our hostess Patricia has chosen a monochromatic trio of blues.
CC&S color200-001
When I saw the blues I immediately thought of a white Christmas. The falling snow against a bright blue crisp sky.
USC#38a
I started by creating a rectangle window mask to apply a trio of Stampin’ Up! inks using my Clarity Stencil Brushes. I then stamped and heat embossed a trio of snowflakes from Stunning Snowflakes. The sentiment is a sneaky peek from a NEW clear stamp set being released next Sunday ūüėČ
Along with a NEW Uniko clear stamp set release next week AND prizes up for grabs over at CC&S this week. As usual we have prizes up for grabs for the Uniko Challenge.

This is what I came up with…

As I am revisiting Rustic Christmas this week as Stamp Of The Week, I thought I’d use it for my challenge reminder too ūüėČ

The tiny baubles in this set are perfect for colourful Christmas cards. To create this card I simply traced round a circle die for a template, stamped the sentiment and then randomly stamped the baubles in a variety of bright and cheerful Stampin’ Up! inks.

USC#37a

After I had finished stamping, I went over the baubles with my clear Wink of Stella pen for a little subtle sparkle. That’s all from me today, but be sure to pop on over HERE to see what the Uniko Design Team have created to inspire you. The link up for the challenge can also be found there.

Stamp Of The Week – Rustic Christmas

Hey!

Welcome back, and my apologies for my absence at the end of last week, nothing like a sickness bug to disrupt everything :( I was laid up in bed Thursday and Friday, unable to do anything. Movement was a no no as it made the sickness worse.

Anyway, this week I am continuing with¬†Rustic Christmas¬†as my SOTW…

RusticChristmasPP

Today I have gone for another super CAS card, I think my creative mojo is finally returning!

2016SOTW94{click photo for a closer look}

Again I used the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge colours seen HERE and below for my card. They are having a DT Call this week and next week, so be sure to check it out and join in!

CC&S color196-001

This time I decided to stamp and emboss the Rustic Tree in Kettle Copper EP on some watercolour paper. I then used my only darker green Zig Clean Colour Brush Marker and simply watercolored over the top. The panel is simply mounted onto a red card base using DST.
