Uniko Challenge #42

Hey!

Welcome to the July/August 2017 Uniko challenge. I have changed the frequency and length of the challenges this year to hopefully give you a little more time to join in on the fun.

So this month we have the following challenge…

¬†This should be a really easy and popular theme and we’re so looking forward to seeing all your wonderful cards popping up in the gallery.

Challenge Guidelines:

* You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products. Plus, there is an extra chance to win a prize if you do ūüėČ

* Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!

* Share the challenge graphic in your post and link back to the challenge if possible ūüėČ

This month we have two Guest Designers – Cornelia the winner of Challenge #40 and Elaine the winner of Challenge #41. Both awesomely talented ladies who we are proud to have joining us for this new challenge.

Here’s Cornelia’s amazing card:

Fabulous isn’t it? Be sure to pop on over to her blog HERE and leave her some love.

And here’s Elaine’s superb card:

¬†So gorgeous! You’ll be wanting to pop over to her blog HERE to leave her some love too.

This is what I came up with…

I’d not used Beautiful Blooms II for a while, so I decided to ink the flowers & leaves up from that set, using some summery Altenew ink colours. I used all three of the flowers contained in the set for my little bouquet. When I had stamped & fussy cut the flowers and laid them onto my card I decided they needed a little ‘backdrop’ to sit against. So I reached for the recently restocked and popular Background Blocks Horizontal Stripe, using it as a vertical stripe instead across my landscape card. The sentiment is from Happy Succulents (also NOW back in stock) and I added more interest by stamping the ‘birthday’ part on a small strip of white card and adhering with foam adhesive. A trio of Stampin’ Up! enamel dots finished it off nicely!

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

That’s all from me, I hope I have inspired you to join in?! If you need a little more inspiration please hop on over HERE to see what the Design Team have created.

AND just in case you need some more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes. As I said at the beginning of the post, I have changed the length and frequency of the challenge. The challenges are FIVE weeks long, giving us a total of SIX challenges this year.

THE PRIZES

  • Main Winner Chosen By the DT – ¬£25 eGift Certificate
  • Random Uniko Stamps Winner –¬†¬£4 In Stock Clear Stamp Set of Winners Choosing
  • Top 3 Chosen By DT – 150 Loyalty Reward Points

Summer17CLBH2

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

When I think of Summer at the moment I instantly think of Tropical beaches, florals and colours. Hence my pairing of I LOVE Tea with Paradise.

I was inspired by the current challenge over at AAA cardsHERE, which is to use the emboss resist technique. I used the outline Hibiscus flower and solid leaves from Paradise clear stamp set, stamping them in VersaMark ink and heat embossing in clear EP. I then applied my favourite distress inks.

#92

The tea cup was stamped with the solid Hibiscus flower and leaves before I fussy cut it out. The sentiment is also from I LOVE Tea and I added some Stampin’ Up! Glitter Enamel Dots to finish the design off :)

Summer17CLBH2a

June 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

It’s time for another Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY! As June isn’t a release month, the Design Team and I are here today to revisit and give some fresh inky love to a previously released clear stamp set.

This month I decided to dust off and revisit the previously released Originally Organic clear stamp set and also take the opportunity to get a closer look at the matching dies too!

This clear stamp set was released last year HERE and was and still is hugely popular. Now with the matching dies, it has even more possibilities.

As usual I have picked a couple of my ‘old’ favourites using this set and I am sharing them over HERE at the start of the hop as I have LOTS of ¬†fresh inspiration for you…

  OrganicRevisit2     {Click Photo For A Closer Look}

My first two cards use my favourite image from the set and were created at the same time and have an a Ying & Yang feel to them.

OrganicRevisit2a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

This first card was created by using the matching die to create a stencil and apply the rainbow of distress ink through it, creating a one layer card. The coordinating image and sentiment were placed and stamped using the MISTI. A few of my favourite enamel dots were added to finish the card off.

OrganicRevisit1

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

My second card was created as a result of a boo boo on my first one layer card. I dropped one of my inked stamps onto it and so instead of wasting the image I die cut it out. This time I thought it would be fun to add the rainbow image to a black card base with a white heat embossed sentiment. As my black card off cut was slightly thinner width wise of my usual card bases, I layered it onto a white base to add simple contrast and detail down the left hand side. Again I added my favourite enamel dots were added to finish.

OrganicRevisit1a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

Next I wanted to use the die to match a couple of the smaller stamps in the set…

OrganicRevisit3

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

This card has an almost Lily Pad feel to it as if you were looking at the edge of a pond with the reeds peeking from behind the die cut curve.

OrganicRevisit3a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

This nicely lead onto my next card, which again uses some of the smaller stamps contained in the set. This time I was inspired by and combined a couple of challenges…

OrganicRevisit4

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

First up the layout of my card is from the current CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge HERE and seen below and my colour choice from the current Color Throwdown HERE and seen below.

CTS_225

swatch446

I kept things really simple and minimal embellishment due to using an all over pattern. The stitched frame die is from Stampin’ Up!

OrganicRevisit4a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

Lastly I couldn’t end the post without using the other large and main image from the set and the matching dies to go with it!

OrganicRevisit5

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

Again I kept the design simple, letting the floral design and sentiment take the stage. What I especially like about this card is the layers of dimension. The stem and leaves die cut is adhered to the white mat layer using thin foam adhesive and then the flowers are adhered using the normal thicker foam adhesive. I then achieved more depth by stamping the floral stamens onto the white mat layer.

OrganicRevisit5a

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

I added some subtle sparkle to the leaves with Clear Wink Of Stella, a trio of pearls and some tiny dots of Nuvo Glitter Drops to the stamens.

OrganicRevisit5c

{Click Photo For A Closer Look}

I hope I have inspired you with my projects today, but now it’s time to hand you over to the Uniko Design Team….

AND don’t forget to comment along the Design Team blogs to be in the chance of¬†winning¬†the Originally Organic clear stamp set AND the Originally Organic Designer Dies. Or a ¬£15 Gift Certificate if you already own the prize! You have until Midnight GMT 18th June to get your comments in.

All the prize information can be found HERE at the start of the hop and to be in with a chance of winning one of the 14 prizes, simply comment along each stop of the hop!

Now for some creative inspiration…

BeeHappy

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

With not owning any bee stamps :( I knew I had to BEE creative with my card! The recently released Background Block Horizontal Stripe was perfect for the idea I had envisioned and the result is what you see above.

BeeHappy1

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

I selectively inked alternate stripes first in black ink and then in yellow ink, using my MISTI tool to keep the stamp and card stock all lined up. The bee is a free hand drawing I did myself, which I fussy cut out and adhered to the card using foam adhesive. I also gave the bee a lovely coating of clear Wink Of Stella.

BeeHappy2

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

The sentiment is from the recently released Happy Succulents clear stamp set and fussy cut out and adhered with foam adhesive too. I then drew in some little lines to give the bee some movement and as I couldn’t find a white gel pen to draw the lines in over the black stripes I improvised and added some mini sparkly rhinestones!

BeeHappy3

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

I hope you have enjoyed my little creative offering for the hop?! If you have missed the start of the hop you can begin HERE at Milka’s blog. If you are on track your next stop is Amy Tsuruta HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by and HAPPY HOPPING!

Uniko Challenge #41

Hey!

Welcome to the May/June 2017 Uniko challenge, this¬†month HERE we have the following challenge…

Cards for men are always a bit tricky and there’s Father’s Day coming very soon so we thought this theme would be a good opportunity to get some male themed cards into your stash.

This month we have the winner of Challenge #39 the awesomely talented Hannelie joining us as our Guest Designer.

Here’s her amazing card:

Fabulous isn’t it? Love how she’s used Uniko stamps in such a unique way. Be sure to pop on over to her blog HERE and leave her some love.

This is what I came up with…

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

Uniko Explosion! and Explosion! Additions clear stamp sets are perfect for creating Masculine cards and with the images and bold sentiments making a card with them is a breeze. Even more so when your creative energy and motivation in general has disappeared like mine seems to have!

As I knew what stamps I was wanting to use I turned to one of my favourite sketch challenges to help spark a little more creativity, Freshly Made Sketches seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 288-001

My colour scheme was fairly easy to come up with, as I had recently purchased some blue shades of Altenew inks and they needed a test drive! I started out by stamping the halftone explosion in Ocean Waves and then sliced the stamped layer as seen in the sketch.

USC#41a

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

Then I stamped the explosion onto a separate piece of white card using Altenew Dusk ink and fussy cut it out. I added a little dimension to both the explosion and the BAM! sentiment and added a little bit of clear Wink of Stella for a little interest and subtle sparkle.

USC#41b

{Click Photo For a Closer Look}

Uniko2017MayRelease1

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

First up I have a zesty green Happy Succulent card to share! I started out by using my four new mini Altenew inks and Clarity Stencil Brushes to create an ombre background. The smaller images from the clear stamp set are then stamped and heat embossed in Cosmic Shimmer White EP.

Uniko2017MayRelease1a

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I’ve one last card to share with you before I had you over to the AMAZING design team who have out done themselves and me again with the superb quality and workmanship with their creations!

I decided to use Happy Succulents again and this time I paired it with Background Blocks Horizontal Stripe. I went for a much softer pastel colour palette to create a wedding card.

Uniko2017MayRelease2

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

My colours were inspired by the current Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below, so soft and pretty.

Again I used Altenew inks, using my MISTI to stamp the images. The main succulent bouquet is fussy cut and doused lovingly with clear Wink Of Stella!

Introducing… Pure Florals: Lily

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the May product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 4 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

On Wednesday HERE we introduced 2 new Background Block clear stamps and yesterday HERE we introduced a new clear stamp set called Happy Succulents. Be sure to pop by and hop along with the team!

Today we are introducing an addition to the Pure Florals clear stamp set range, Pure Florals: Lily and I have shared a little bit about the designing of this set over HERE at the start of the hop.

With that I have a couple of cards to share using the set…

IntroPFLily1

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
For this first card I wanted a bright, cheery rainbow background! I started by stamping and masking off the 3 lilies and then used my distress inks and Clarity Stencil Brushes to create the background. I then added a sentiment from Originally Organic and used my PrismaColour Pencils to add a little colour and depth to the flowers.
IntroPFLily1a
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
I’ve one more card to share before I hand you over to the design team and prepare to be WOWed by them, they really have worked wonders with this set and I am jealous of all their colouring skills!
IntroPFLily2
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
Again I reached for my ink blending tools, something I didn’t think I would do very often and here we are two cards in a row! This time I used Altenew inks and applied them ink a circular motion so the colours radiated from the centre of the Lily.
IntroPFLily2b
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
I stamped the same full Lily onto my base card and created a mat layer using a MFT stitched die. The sentiment is a mix from Pure Florals: Lily and Simply Said.
Ok, that’s all from me, but be sure to hop along the rest of the design team via the links below…

IntroHappySucculents2

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

This time I stamped the succulent bouquet in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then heat embossed it in Stardust EP. I then used my Copic markers to colour the outline succulent and foliage.

IntroHappySucculents2b

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I then die cut a rectangular frame from black CS and adhered it to the card base before stamping the ‘happy’ three times using my MISTI tool for perfect placement. The ‘Sending You Lots Of’ sentiment is also from the set. I adhered the fussy cut bouquet with foam adhesive and then finished the card off with more enamel dots. Can you tell they are a favourite of mine at the moment?!

Introducing… Background Blocks Doodle Flower & Horizontal Stripe

YAY!

I’m SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the May product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 4 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

Starting over HERE, myself and my AWESOME Design Team are introducing TWO clear stamp sets, Background Blocks Doodle Flower & Horizontal Stripe. These two sets have so many fun possibilities and can be used and paired with all sorts of stamps and paper crafting goodies.
With doing an individual card for each stamp over at the start of the hop, I decided to show how these two background stamps can be combined…

IntroBBdfandhs2

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
First up a rainbow card, who doesn’t love a colourful rainbow?! ¬†Now, I have to say that the MISTI tool comes in very VERY handy for multi coloured stamping AND for perfect placement of the doodle flower stamp over the top!
IntroBBdfandhs2a
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
The rainbow of stripes is stamped using Lawn Fawn inks and the doodle flower is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I added a sentiment from Simply Said and some Stampin’ Up! heart shape enamel embellishments to 3 of the larger flowers.
I’ve one more card to share using both the stamps, both in a selective stamping way…
IntroBBdfandhs1
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
Again I used my MISTI tool to stamp the horizontal stripes and this time I selectively inked just 3 of the stripes in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with Gold EP.
IntroBBdfandhs1a
{Click Photo for a Closer Look}
The stripes are then embellished with Lawn Fawn Merman doodle flowers, Stampin’ Up! Enamel dots and a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #6.
Ok, that’s all I have to share today using these two new stamps and hopefully I have inspired you a little as to how they can be used! Now I am handing you over to the Design Team and you WILL be inspired with how they have all used the stamps. Be sure to comment along the hop, as you might just be chosen for a random release day prize!

HAPPY Shadows

Hey & Happy Holiday Weekend!

Yep, it’s May Day weekend here in the UK, which means we get tomorrow as an extra day to our weekend! As it is hubby’s birthday tomorrow too, we have come away for a little family getaway and our first taking the beans anywhere overnight!

We are staying in Wrexham ‘just’ in North Wales (also hubby & the beans first time to Wales) and then we are off to Chester Zoo tomorrow, I can’t wait and it’s already been a wonderful adventure with memories to treasure :)

Anyway, last night I had a little time to create and made this card to share with you…

LIMshadow1{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

This is an idea I have been wanting to get on to a card for ages now, but never got round to actually doing. That was until I saw the new challenge HERE over at “Less is More”.

LIM #326

This week the challenge is shadow and it was the perfect time to test out my shadow stamping with the large HAPPY from All Occasion Sentiments #2.

LIMshadow1a

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

Having a MISTI tool is perfect for this technique and makes lining up & stamping the sentiment and images a breeze! I started by stamping the HAPPY in Altenew Parrot Ink and then off setting the HAPPY slightly and stamping in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

I repeated the process with the solid square from Background Builders: Squared which will be back in stock on Tuesday – YAY!

Ok, that’s all I have to share for today, I must make the most of an early night away and get some much needed beauty sleep ūüėČ I will be back tomorrow though with the first of the Uniko May Release Sneak Peeks!

Until then, thanks for stopping by!
