Stamp Of The Week – Beautiful Blooms I

Hey!

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween to those who celebrate. This week I have opted for a seasonal change and I have gone for a floral set to revisit. This week I am dusting off Beautiful Blooms I and the coordinating Beautiful Blooms I Designer Dies

Floral clear stamps are good all year round and they can also be prettied up to go with the seasons, as I will hopefully show you this week ūüėČ When they have a set of dies to match, there are even more possibilities!

Here is what I came up with for today…

On my card I have used the smallest of the blooms and the coordinating die. I was inspired by the pretty photo inspiration over a Fusion Card Challenge seen HERE and below, soft and subtle are the key words.

New Banner-017

I was also inspired to create a celebration card. “Less is More” are celebrating a BIG milestone this week, 300 challenges HERE. The theme this week is to create a celebratory CAS card.

I started by die cutting the bloom and then temporarily adhering the panel to my card base, so I could stamp through the die cut and have perfect positioning. The MISTI is on my Christmas wish list and I am dropping HUGE hints to Santa that I could *really* do with this tool now ūüėČ

Down the edge of my panel I adhered some SU! Washi tape, I can’t quite remember what collection it came from (sorry) the colour is either Pool Party or Mint Macaron. The sentiment is from Simply Said and stamped in Going Grey ink and I added a few rhinestones to finish the card off.

That’s all I have to share today, my mojo is a little slow as the beans decided to do some climbing antics at nap time and therefore didn’t nap. Mummy therefore didn’t get her usual lunchtime R&R and is feeling a little tired. I will however be back tomorrow with more using this set.

This week I am giving you the opportunity to purchase both the Beautiful Blooms I clear stamp set and Designer Dies in a bundle at 15% off HERE for this week only.

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by :)

August 2016 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

With the summer holidays in full swing here in the UK and as I spend time with my beans and family you might have guessed with no sneak peeks that there is no new release this month. So instead we have another Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY instead!

This month I decided upon the Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum clear stamp set, probably due to the lovely summer blooms that I am seeing on my days out and time in the garden!

This is what I came up with…

Aug2016DTbloghop

As usual I turned to a couple of challenges to spark my creativity! It’s been a little all over the place these past few weeks and so I needed a little help again ūüėČ

For the layout of my card I used the new Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 249-001

I then needed a colour scheme for my card so I turned to the Color Throwdown seen HERE and below. A lovely summery combination this week perfect for florals.

swatch405

Quite a simple CAS card with a little masking and stamping! I started by stamping the sentiment and masking it off to stamp the flower and leaves. I added a little more interest to the card by dividing my aqua strips of card rather than layering a white piece of CS to create the lines of the sketch.

Ok, that’s all from me, but there is more inspiration from the team…

Stamp Of The Week & Uniko Challenge #29 Reminder

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW).¬†This week I am dusting off…¬†Beautiful Blooms II

BeautifulBloomsIIPP

Today I am combining SOTW with my Uniko Challenge #29 reminder card ūüėČ I had a bit of creative block yesterday, I have SO much I want to do on my bean free days, it’s hard to know where to start! It is also eerily quiet without them, I don’t think I have quite got used to them not being here for an afternoon!

2016SOTW35

Anyway, I decided to use the Uniko Challenge colours seen HERE and below as my inspiration!

ChallengeGraphic2

I also needed some help with my card layout, so I turned to the new CAS Colours & Sketches challenge seen HERE and below for the layout of my card.

sketch 162-2

I was stumped for a while as to what to use for the strips on the sketch and then it occurred to me that I have used ribbon for AGES. Do you find yourself reaching for the same accessories over and over, not using different things? I do and I have to say I have missed not adding ribbon!

2016SOTW35a

I added a few SU! It’s My Party Enamel Dots and a sentiment from Simply Said stamped in Hero Arts Soft Granite ink to finish the design off.

That’s all from me today using this set, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Don’t forget that this set is discounted in store¬†HERE¬†this week too. I hope to see you in the challenge galleries ūüėČ

Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today.

Uniko Sponsors Freshly Made Sketches 200th Sketch Challenge!

Hey & Happy Wednesday!

Today Uniko is celebrating along with the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge, as they have reached an awesome milestone with their 200th sketch! Normally their challenge is sponsor free, but as it is a special occasion they have asked a few companies to sponsor and offer prizes to the winners.

As you know I love playing along with their challenge, so when Jennifer Timko emailed me and asked if Uniko would sponsor I was honoured. Before I get to the prize Uniko is offering how about a look at the sketch & some samples from me & some of the DT…

Such a simple sketch with so many possibilities, this is what I came up with…

I don’t normally buy the kits from the SU! catalogue or anywhere really, but in the new one they have a few which come with nice objects like the Tin of Cards kit which has a gorgeous striped tin & filing system to keep your cards in and I couldn’t resist the Hello Life Simply Created Kit either as it comes with a wire frame to hang on the wall and clip creations & inspiration to. Anything to make the new studio pretty :) More on these & a look see another day!

Anyway, the reason I have waffled on is because I have used a few elements from both the kits on my card! From the Tin of Cards I cut into one of the note cards which has a diagonal stripe to it in Bermuda Bay, I then die cut the scalloped edge using my Mama Elephant dies. I then tied some Basic Black Bakers Twine around, securing with a bow also from the kit. This is adhered to the card base using foam adhesive.

I then stamped the outline bloom & leaves from Beautiful Blooms II & fussy cut them out, adhering them with DST. To finish the card off I added the sentiment from A Gift For You and 3 little die cut hearts from the Hello Life Simply Created Kit.
A few of the DT were able to join in on the fun & created a project using the sketch, be sure to pop by their blogs for a closer look and inspiration…

August 2015 Design Team Blog Hop, GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

I’m SO happy you’ve stopped by the blog today as today is the¬†August¬†2015 Design Team Blog Hop. Along with the hop and GIVEAWAY!¬†So be sure to grab a drink, get comfy, relax and enjoy!

As we’ve quite a few new followers here, (“Hello & Thank you”) I will explain what’s going on! Here at Uniko I *USUALLY* only release new products every other month. Keep your eyes peeled this week for a NEW set of dies lining the shelf this week at Uniko HQ!! This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know ‘some’ are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you’re not tempted to splurge too much every month.

The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing. Alongside that I am a full time mum to 11 ¬†month old twin boys! So releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well…just about!

¬†So, on the in-between release months the Design Team & I take a look back at a previously released product, dust it off and give it some love! This month I decided to dust off TWO products, the previously released Beautiful Blooms I and II…

I chose these two sets as it’s Summer here (well, it’s supposed to be Summer!) and I do love a flower or two. When I released both these sets¬†HERE¬†and¬†HERE¬†they were firm favourites and hardly left my desk. Though I still¬†LOVE¬†them I don’t always reach for them so it was time to give them some more love.

As always I like to share a couple of my ‘old faves’ using the sets…

And here are a couple of new projects using them…

I started out with Beautiful Blooms I, vellum and detail white embossing powder. I simply stamped the blooms in VersaMark ink before heat embossing them white. I then used the matching Designer Dies to cut them out (these will be back in stock soon) before adhering them to a Melon Mambo card base. The sentiment from Simply Said Birthday is also heat embossed gold. I also added a few gold gems to finish the card off.

The current challenge over at¬†“Just Us Girls”HERE¬†is a Trend Week, the trend being vellum, so I thought I’d link it up there too ūüėČ

Next I have a card I made for Saturday’s class at The Paperlane. It’s another card coloured with the Zig Clean Color Brush Pens…

I’m still getting to grips with the pens, but I am rather liking the results and how ‘easy’ they are to use. I especially like the spectrum of colours & shading you can achieve with just a few pens.

That’s all I had time to create, but now for some AWESOME projects from the Design Team using Beautiful Blooms I & or II.

Don’t forget the¬†GIVEAWAY… Simply comment along the hop for your chance to win the featured sets or a eGift Certificate code to the same value if you already own them.

Peachy Pink Watercolour Bloom

Hey & Happy Weekend!

This morning I am at The Paperlane running a class, it’s lovely to catch up with my local customers once a month, being creative & getting some me time! Today we are doing a mixture of Christmas (Yep, I said the C word!) cards and floral cards. Adding in some watercolours and smooshing!

The card I am sharing today is one of the cards the class will be making…

I am still practising and getting to grips with my Zig Clean Color Brush pens, but I am thoroughly enjoying the process. I only have 4 colours of the pens, but it is amazing the spectrum of colours you can achieve with just those.

I was making my samples for the class kits and saw the new CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below and knew I had to make a card for the challenge, so I incorporated it into my class prep!

I started out by stamping the bloom from Beautiful Blooms II in VersaMark ink and heat embossing it with detail white embossing powder onto smooth WC card. I then set about using just 2 colours of the Zig pens Dark Pink and Yellow to colour the bloom, achieving a lovely peachy pink spectrum. This then determined the card stock base colour (Papertrey Ink Melon Berry).

In the not too distant past if I was following this sketch I would have reached for Bakers Twine or ribbon for the line above the sentiment. But as the current trend is to use a die to create a break in the mat layer panel, I reached for my current favourite the Mama Elephant curved die!

That’s all from me today, I will be sharing another of the class cards later next week. Until the next time thank you for stopping by today.
