Uniko Challenge #45 – Something Old, Something New, with Optional Twist LOVE

This month we have the winner of Challenge #44 Christmas, the awesomely talented Anita joining us as our Guest Designer.

Here’s her amazing card:

So clean and perfectly CAS. Be sure to pop on over to her blog HERE and leave her some love.

Here is how I was inspired by the challenge theme…

USC#45

I had a basic idea of the supplies I wanted to use and a rough layout planned  and went with the flow on that side of things! I needed to be inspired with my colours and turned to the current challenge over at Global Design Project, seen HERE and below.

GDPD121

I feel like its been ages since I joined in on a challenge and even longer since I joined in on one over there! I was OK with the Sweet Sugarplum and Bermuda Bay colours, but Peekaboo Peach threw me a little! I decided to use it as my base card colour and only have a small amount showing.

USC#45b

Whist creating my card I was quite pleased as how it came together. Now that it is finished and photographed I am not entirely keen on it! I feel I should have used the Large Background Polka Hearts instead of the Scattered Polka Dot Stencil and the sentiment could have done with being stamped a little higher!

I think it is good sometimes to make and share cards that you are not completely happy with, it shows that I don’t get it right every time and it gives you something to learn and build on from the next time you create.

That’s all from me, but the Uniko Design team also have some LOVELY inspiration to share, be sure to follow the links to their blogs below to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too 😉

Uniko & Simply Cards & Papercraft!

Hey!

It’s a miserable rainy October day here in the NE of the UK, but I have some news which has brightened my day & hopefully yours too!

I’m super duper excited to share my latest digital stamp collection and feature in Simply Cards & Papercrafts…

Yep, along with 2 releases in a row and the NEW Uniko Stencils, I’ve been busy again behind the scenes here at Uniko and designed this collection of 5 digital stamps. See them featured in Simply Cards & Papercrafts issue 169. The issue is out and available to buy today from most leading supermarkets and shops who sell magazines.

The digital collection is available to download HERE.

You might recognise some of these images from now retired Uniko clear stamps, but I have revised them slightly and refreshed them. I’ve also added in some current Uniko imagery along with a fun new curved holly design, which I have used on one of my cards featured in the magazine.

I hope to share a few more projects using this collection soon, but in the mean time I’d LOVE to see what you create if you download and use the collection. Please email photos of your projects to bev@uniko.co.uk and say if you are happy for me to share them here on the blog too! Or #unikoltd on Instagram or Facebook.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the freebie!

BIG Thanks!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

The Beans have made it through their first full week of afternoons at school nursery – yay! They both have settled in really well and I have had no tears or tantrums leaving them 🙂 With that I have been settling into my new routine and realising how quick the time goes whilst they are there!

Amongst the chaos of prepping for the October Release, Happy Stampers Festival, Stamp Magic paper craft show, a HUGE restock delivery and flurry of lovely orders (thank you), I managed to squeeze in a little time to stamp!

BIGthanks{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I required another thank you card and with the recent restocks, which included All Occasion Sentiments #6, I was inspired to dust off my set and ink it up. I still had my September Release stamps to hand and decided to pair the BIG thanks with Background Builders: Seeing Stars and the ‘You Rock’ sentiment from Simply Said Blocks.

Using the BIG thanks is perfect for me to join in on one of my many favourite card challenges this week, CASology. This week the cue card HERE is BIG!

Week 267 - Big

I used my favourite trio of colours to stamp the panel of stars and used a black strip of card slightly bigger to mat it with. The BIG thanks is stamped and simply flat coloured with Copic markers and a good layer of clear Wink of Stella applied.

BIGthanks1

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I added foam adhesive to the thanks panel and also the ‘You Rock’ sentiment and added a few Stampin’ Up! star enamels to finish the design. Hopefully this card will reach it’s destination in a few days. It feels good to be finally sending out more of the cards I make 🙂

That’s all from me today, I hope to squeeze in some more creative time this weekend along with other exciting tasks like planning NEW Uniko Classes! I am super excited to have ‘found’ the perfect venue to hold them here in Stockton-On-Tees in the North East of the UK and I am now working on the finer details. So as soon as I have, I will be letting you all know!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hugs

HAPPY Shadows

Hey & Happy Holiday Weekend!

Yep, it’s May Day weekend here in the UK, which means we get tomorrow as an extra day to our weekend! As it is hubby’s birthday tomorrow too, we have come away for a little family getaway and our first taking the beans anywhere overnight!

We are staying in Wrexham ‘just’ in North Wales (also hubby & the beans first time to Wales) and then we are off to Chester Zoo tomorrow, I can’t wait and it’s already been a wonderful adventure with memories to treasure 🙂

Anyway, last night I had a little time to create and made this card to share with you…

LIMshadow1{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

This is an idea I have been wanting to get on to a card for ages now, but never got round to actually doing. That was until I saw the new challenge HERE over at “Less is More”.

LIM #326

This week the challenge is shadow and it was the perfect time to test out my shadow stamping with the large HAPPY from All Occasion Sentiments #2.

LIMshadow1a

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

Having a MISTI tool is perfect for this technique and makes lining up & stamping the sentiment and images a breeze! I started by stamping the HAPPY in Altenew Parrot Ink and then off setting the HAPPY slightly and stamping in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

I repeated the process with the solid square from Background Builders: Squared which will be back in stock on Tuesday – YAY!

Ok, that’s all I have to share for today, I must make the most of an early night away and get some much needed beauty sleep 😉 I will be back tomorrow though with the first of the Uniko May Release Sneak Peeks!

Until then, thanks for stopping by!

Hugs

Happy 5th Birthday Uniko!

Happy Birthday Uniko!

Today we are celebrating Uniko’s 5th Birthday. I can’t quite believe that Uniko has made it this far! What an amazing 5 years it has been…

Since I began this adventure back in 2012 awesome life events have taken place. From getting married in Hawaii in Sept 2013 to having twins in Sept 2014 and moving house in Feb 2015! Many of you have been with me since the beginning and have been a part of these along with being truly valued customers and supporters of myself and Uniko.

THANK YOU

Without you Uniko wouldn’t be celebrating today, so to show my appreciation I am offering FREE Worldwide Shipping, this weekend!

Usually by now, I would have shared sneak peeks, introduced new products and had a release blog hop today and every other 11th of the month.

This year I have decided to take the pressure off myself a little bit by not having a ‘set’ schedule for new releases. Being a full time mummy to 2 two and a half year olds has enough stresses of it’s own!

So, instead we have a Birthday Linky Party!

All you need to do is create a birthday card and link it up HERE via the Linky Tool at the bottom of the post.

The Design Team and I have got the party started and created some birthday cards to inspire you. Be sure to stop on by the blogs via the links and leave some LOVE 🙂

Here is what I created…

Uniko5Bday1

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I decided to break out some NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff), some mini distress inks that I bought a few weeks ago to create a ink blended panel. The layout of my card was inspired by the new CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below.

CTS_208

I then dusted off a trio of Uniko clear stamps, All Occasion Sentiments #2 for the large HAPPY. Simply Said Birthday for the small BIRTHDAY and Balloon Bash for the balloon and string.

Uniko5Bday1a

{Click Photo for a Closer Look}

I used my MISTI for placement of the sentiment and also the balloon string. The balloon is stamped in Hero Arts Mint to Green ombre ink and dusted with clear Wink Of Stella for some added sparkle 🙂

Be sure to hop on over to the Design Team Blogs for lots more birthday inspiration…

Uniko Challenge #39 – Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of Love

Hey!

Welcome to the January 2017 Uniko challenge and our first challenge for 2017. We have another fun and easy challenge this month to spark your creativity and I have changed the frequency and length of the challenges this year to hopefully give you a little more time to join in on the fun.

So this month we have the following challenge to inspire you…

Anything goes! Don’t you just love these kinds of challenges, I sure do. I love seeing everyones creativity and individuality shine through their creations.

Challenge Guidelines:

* You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products. Plus, there is an extra chance to win a prize if you do 😉
* Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!
* Share the challenge graphic in your post and link back to the challenge if possible 😉

This month we have another awesome Guest Designer joining us, Izzy from Izzy Scrap. Izzy has been a regular participant in the Uniko Challenges and was the lucky winner of Challenge #37. Now check out this stunner Izzy has created…

Isn’t this just amazing? I love the embossed circle frame around the stamped heart using a selection of tiny Uniko clear stamps. Be sure to hop on over to Izzy’s blog HERE to find out more and leave some love.

Here’s what I came up with…

USC#39

It’s been a while since I had some time to join in on a challenge, so I decided to use a couple to inspire my creativity. First the layout of my card is from the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge seen HERE and below.

FMS Final 271-001

Secondly, I needed a colour combo, so went the Color Throwdown challenge HERE and seen below.

swatch426

Usually I’d use a lot of red, but instead I used it to make more of a masculine Valentine card. I also limited the red to highlight the stamped sentiment panel and accentuated the lone red ‘Be Mine’ with red hearts. I used my Misti to stamp the panel 🙂

USC#39a

As always the Uniko Design Team have some FABulous inspiration for you too, be sure to follow the links to their blogs to find out more and I am sure they’d love a nice comment too 😉

Have You Joined In Yet?

Hey!

The Design Team and I are back to remind you that there is still plenty of time to join in on the September Uniko challenge HERE. We have another fun challenge this month to spark your creativity…

This month we have a theme challenge. With signs of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere we are looking for Autumn inspired creations. We have an optional twist of a THANKS card too.

You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products.

Email entries welcome, just email a photo of your card to bev@uniko.co.uk and I will add it to the Uniko Flickr gallery and link up!
This is what I came up with…

So, the Uniko Sept/Oct Release is just round the corner and I have been busy in between packaging stamps for lovely orders & the Happy Stampers Festival, making cards to showcase the new release. Well, as you might see I couldn’t resist using one of the new stamps to accentuate the large ‘thanks’ sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #6.

USC#36a

I stamped both the sentiment and leaves in Memento Rich Cocoa ink, so that I could use a selection of Autumn colours to colour them in and have the outlines to blend in.  I tried a ombre effect to the ‘thanks’ from light to dark brown and the leaves are just randomly coloured. To finish the card off I added a coating of Wink Of Stella and a couple of SU! Candy Dots.

Now, if you need more incentive to play along with the challenge here are the details of the prizes.

THE PRIZES
  • The DT will choose a winner who will get a ÂŁ20 gift voucher and opportunity to Guest Design.
  • We will do a random draw for all those who twist with us. This winner will get to choose a stamp set of choice from the store.
  • The DT choose a Top 3 who will each get 100 Loyalty Rewards Points added to their Uniko customer account.
  • We will do a random draw for all those who use A UNIKO stamp. This winner will get 200 Loyalty Reward Points added to their Uniko customer account.

You’ve got plenty of time to play along with this month’s challenge. The deadline for submission is midnight (BST) on Friday 14th October (7.00pm EDT).

Be sure to head on over HERE for more inspiration from the Design Team and for the link up!

Stamp Of The Week – Background Builders: Triangulate

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Background Builders: Triangulate

BBtriangulatePP copy

For todays card I decided to go for a more feminine card, to show that this set is also good for the girls too!

2016SOTW59

I was inspired by the new Freshly Made Sketch sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card. My colours were inspired by THIS tribal pin I had saved ages ago.

FMS Final 241-001

I used one of the longer building stamps to stamp the lower section of the white mat layer, stamping it seven times. I then used 4 SU! markers to randomly colour a selection of the triangles.

2016SOTW59a

The sentiment is a mix of All Occasion Sentiments #2 and Simply Said Birthday. I also stamped a trio of single triangles to accent the sentiment, which is adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

Ok, that’s all from me just now. I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Stamp Of The Week – Background Builders: Triangulate

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… Background Builders: Triangulate

BBtriangulatePP copy

I’m FINALLY back this week dusting off another clear stamp set that is an awesome ‘go to’ set for those pesky men in our lives 😉

Background Builders: Triangulate came about due to the geometric and tribal trends and was also a follow on set from Background Builders: Circles and Background Builders: Squared.

Anyway, I was browsing Pinterest and came across THIS card by Maile Belles. I loved the layout and simplicity of the design and I had to CASE it using these stamps.

DSC_0080E

This is my CASE…

2016SOTW57a

My colours were inspired by a NEW challenge I came across last week called The Heart Desires. Their current challenge HERE is an inspiration photo, with three options including a colour palette, seen below.

THD1

As you can see I opted for the geometrics and also the colours. I combined two sentiments with the triangles, All Occasion Sentiments #2 and Simply Said, creating another Father’s Day card.

2016SOTW57

Ok, that’s all from me just now. I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Stamp Of The Week – All Occasion Sentiments #3

Hey!

Welcome back to the NEW feature here at Uniko, Stamp Of The Week (SOTW). This week I am dusting off… All Occasion Sentiments #3

AllOccasionSentiment3PP

I’m back this week dusting off another clear stamp set that came back in stock recently and one which is a go to sentiment set for those quick CAS cards!

2016SOTW56

Again todays card is another quick CAS card, with the Easter break over the beans are back at playgroups and now I am full of cold AGAIN 🙁 which has meant not a lot of energy once they are in bed to create 🙁 I’m hoping this one will be short lived!

Anyway, enough of my woes, back card! As you can see I have paired it with the newly released Fun Flowers again.

2016SOTW56a

My colours were based on the new ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below. I love the soft Spring like pallet.

cqc337

A little tip when using the Fun Flowers set it is easier to position and stamp/stack the flowers by starting with the smallest first and working up to the biggest.

Ok, that’s all from me just now. I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Don’t forget that this set is discounted HERE on the website this week.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂
