Happy Sunday & Welcome to Uniko’s June 2021Mini Stencil Reveal & Release!
Hopefully you have enjoyed the Sneak Peeks and Introductions to the new products I have shared with you over the past few days. I’ve certainly had fun playing with all the new goodies 😉
All of the NEW products are available for purchase over HERE on the website. An earlier release time then previous releases.
Hopefully you have come on over from HERE, the start of the hop on the Uniko Blogspot Blog. Over there I have formally introduced all the new stencils.
Just a mini stencil release this month, but I am sure if you’ve been joining in with the introduction blog hops, you will agree that it packs a creative punch. In case you need a bit more convincing and inspiration as to how they can be used, be sure to join in on the blog hop.
Don’t forget to comment along the way, as there will be one lucky comment from those left selected to win ALL the stencils released today. You have until 10pm BST Sunday 27th June 2021 to leave a comment. Winner will be announced on the blog on or around the 28th June 2021.
Now, let’s get to the creative inspiration you’ve come here for!
For my first card today I wanted to used the Pure Florals Rose. I had this idea of colouring all the petals in a rainbow of colours. I’d ordered myself the Altenew Detail Blending Brushes and wanted to give them ago. I have to say they are really good and I mainly used the smallest to apply colour to each of the petals.
I then had the idea to turn to a technique to be able to ink the background black, called trapped ink.
Basically once you have applied colour to each of the petals and it has dried. Wipe the stencil over, keep it in place & then using your VersaMark ink pad sponge the ink directly to all of the coloured areas. Remove the stencil and apply clear embossing powder & heat set.
Then directly apply black ink all over the card. The embossing powder will resist the black ink and once all areas are covered you can buff the embossed areas to remove any black. As you can see my embossing wasn’t perfect in a couple areas as the black stayed. But overall it’s a neat technique.
Next I kept things fairly simple for a butterfly card…
For this I wanted to focus solely on the detail stencil of the butterfly. I started by creating a blended background. I used Distress Oxide inks in Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed.
I then placed my detail butterfly stencil and used Nuvo Black Diamond Glimmer Paste through it. Once dry I used the silhouette solid stencil to position and draw in the remainder of the attena.
Lastly for today I decided to do a masculine card & also make a Father’s Day card, seeing as it is Father’s Day today!
This card is based on a similar Father’s Day card I made HERE. This time instead of using the Explosion! Additions stamps, I used the Stencil – Explosion! I also tried my hand at some double stencilling too.
I started by ink blending through the largest explosion on the stencil and before moving onto the next colour on my card, I placed the Mixed Mini Geometric stencil over the top and blended a slightly darker shade.
I really love the effect and will be trying this technique some more. I finished off the card with sentiments from Explosion! Additions and also the word DAD spelled out using Alphabet Outlined.
I hope you have enjoyed my cards today and I am sure you will enjoy the hop too. All the stencils are now available to purchase HERE.
Thank you so much for joining in on the fun here at Uniko 🙂
